Very relaxing and luxurous holiday
"We stayed 4 nights in this hotel with some friends and we all loved it. In september, they had off season rates so it was really so cheap compared to the service we received.
The beach was amazing, the pool wasn't overcrowded, service was very good, there were lots of activities for kids. Animations were well planned and impressive (we watched russian ballet dancers and chinese acrobats, first class).
There are some a-la-carte restaurants that you need to book a day ahead - the booking is full in 10 minutes, so you better wait in the queue for 15 minutes, before the booking starts. We had a dinner in seafood restaurant, it was the best seafood we had."

"This hotel was out of this world. Right from the moment we arrived (4am and very grumpy from the travelling) the hotel made us feel special. When they saw we had a 15 yr old daughter they said, to stop in our hotel room that night and they would upgrade us the following day. Not only did they do this but they did it seamlessly, collecting our cases from our old room and putting then in our new canal side family bungalow.
This is the level of service the hotel offered.
The bad things first.
The hotel shop was expensive and didn't sell english papers.
The pool was cold at this time of year.
And thats it, petty aren't I lol.
The rest of it was awesome. the food and drinks were lovely, the staff were fantastic ( sergey and orpan the annimation team made our stay special). The shows in the open air theater at night included shaolin monks and a chinese circus.
Out of a thousand guests only our party was english, all six of us, the rest were mainly russian with a few germans and israelis for good measure. They didn't smile much but never bothered ud either. Soif you join in everything you will be treat as a English god as we was the novelty.
There is really to much great stuff to write on this, I'd need to publish a book. If anyone e mails me, I will provide my number and i'll tell you over the phone.
if your travelling from the airport by taxi, ring the hotel first and they will send you one for half price of the airport taxi tariffs
If you smoke, buy enough at the airport to last you your holiday as cigs at hotel are £4 for 20. On your return to UK the cigs in turkish duty free shops are £9 for 200.
Euros seem to be the best currency. If you want to make your holiday even more special, take plenty. The royal spa of Moscow is in the hotel and the turkish bath and massage treatments make you feel 16 again.
As I say e mail me on any thing that you need to know, and above all if you are going to this hotel, start looking forward to it now...

Disappointing, given how expensive it is...
"My pregnant wife and I spent 5 nights:
Please see my negative and positive comments respectively:
On the downside:
1. Our beautiful seaview bedroom by day turned into a noisy nightmare by night, as windows were not double-glazed. Pool party music goes on until slightly beyond midnight. So if you want to be able to sleep at 10pm, choose a room without a view.
When we complained, we spent our first night in a silent room with no view. Luckily, there is not a pool party every night.
2. Turkey is famous for its kebabs. When they say that it's Turkish Night at the Main restaurant, you expect to have lamb kebabs and chicken kebabs on skewers and lamb chops.
That was not the case. Very disappointing at a hotel alleging to be exclusive and one of the most expensive in Turkey. The meat served was beef kebab on skewers, sausages, chicken wings and fish, all of which are of course cheaper.
3. For the same amount of money, we had spent a week in Cuba, including flights. Rixos was not a good value for money.
4. If you're looking for a sandy beach for long walks, go elsewhere. Expect loads of pebbles here.
5. Long journey from the airport, about 1 hr 45 mins it took us.
And the good news:
1. Staff are really helpful and friendly.
2. Very nice and relaxing spa area. Turkish bath (hamam) is clean and spacious. Saunas and resting areas help you wind down.
3. Salsa classes in the afternoon with Serdar is great fun, do join!
4. Pay extra and experience the sea parachute, the views from up above are breathtaking.
5. Have a positive attitude and you'll have a great time.
Overall: we were disappointed because it was an expensive holiday, so we had set our expectations really very high..."

Had a great time....
"Stayed in this hotel in April for five nights, had a wonderful time. Hotel is very clean and has real class, all staff we encountered were very friendly. Food was excellent in the Buffet Restaurant, was not too keen on the selection of the a la Carte Restaurants though.
To add this to a previous reviewer, to have dress codes in 5* hotels is the norm and I, for one, am very grateful about this as some guests really do not know how to dress for dinner.
Only small disappointment was that I thought the in-door pool was very dirty and was in desperate need of a good clean. Otherwise can only highly recommend this hotel."

"we stayed at rixos tekirova from july 31 to august 10th 2006. it was the best hotel we ever stayed in turkey. the restaurants were wonderfull. the pools and the beach too. we never had to put towels to have a chair at the pool. a lot of space everywhere. staff very friendly. shows very professional. rooms (we had a family room with two separate bedrooms) excellent. very clean, very comfortable. we would recommend this hotel to everybdy. there are many russians, but they don't bother you. if you want a nice and relaxing vacation go to this hotel. it is worth the price."

Great Place !
"This was our 2nd time in Turkey, our travel agency recommended this hotel and I thank them ! WE LOVED IT! My 8 year old daughter can't wait to go back.
Hotel is just wonderful, outstanding restaurant/food, very nice staff. I'm surprised to read some comments about how poor service is because we have not a bad comment about it. We had a wonderful vacation."

5 star hotel with one star service
"The hotel itself is very nice so are the food service staff. But as for the housekeeping staff or the front desk people, they leave much to be desired. They are not used to requests (it upsets them). The room had a safe but it needed a key to be activated, I am still waiting for the front desk to send me the key! Moreover, the air-conditioning in the room did not work or was not turned on. Our room at night was around 29 degrees Celsius. I contacted the front desk reputedly but they never got around fixing the problem or at least sending someone to take a look at the AC. Since most of the hotel guests with the exceptions of some Europeans are Russians (in general they never complain no matter what) the hotel staff is not used requests or complaints. As for me I enjoyed the food, beaches and the swimming pool but I would not go there again. The hotel is 5 star only in name, there are much nicer resorts in Turkey with far superior service at much lower prices."

"Stayed at the Rixos from 02/04/12 (two weeks) not everything was open (did say this in brochure) but found the staff, the views excellent. The food however was even BETTER such a vast variety and plentifull. Service at tables excellent room service was great made shapes out of our towels at least 50% of our stay (swans, lovehearts etc). All in all would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone."

"My wife and i and 11 year old boy had a lovelly holiday there, on arrival the luggage was taken straight up to our room, no tip was expected, got booked in straight away, coffee and snacks where available at 2 am in the morning, staff where very good and polite speaking limited english but organised, first impressions where very good.
The food choice was vast choice of everything if you couldn't find anything you liked you would have to be very picky, and served throughout the day at differant resterants and bars with an extensive choice, the only problem we had was one evening on gala night when the table's where in short supply, the staff did look after the russians in this respect who on there arrival tended to tip the waiters to get looked after, but this was only on one evening. The hotel was lovelly and very clean there was a member of staff in every eye shot either cleaning or gardening.
If anything the room was not quite big enough but ok for a week's stay, view from the balcony was excellent, the bathroom was to small, but again very clean, the pool was perfect for adults and children loads of beds and shade if needed, the activities was all there but not in your face if you wanted to keep out of the way, the beach area was a short walk from the hotel and pool areas, very good clean and lot's to do, a very nice pontoon to dive off or swim off into the sea which was very warm and clean, water sport's was very good but not cheap for a limited time of 10 / 15 minutes slot.
Bottled water station's where everywhere and never empty.
The entertainment was ok it was all there if you wanted it, the night club area never went past midnight which could be heard from the rooms but this was not a problem unless you go to bed before that time.
The hotel is 95% russian occupied but we felt this was ok, we found them to keep themselves to themselves some where a bit arrogant but i'm sure if it was full of brits this would have been a whole lot differant with the all inclusive drinks and food available. The boy soon found other british kids to hang around with and had the freedom to do what he wanted and found it nice for them all to go off and feed themselves where and whenever they wanted, again drinks and ice cream's where readilly available.
The town was a bit of let down, only full of expensive fake good's.
Overaul a very good holiday enjoyed by us all, weather fantastic being around 40 at it's height and warm at night. would recommend, would return but try another rixos hotel."
