10 Traveller reviews from Holiday Watchdog
"We found this new but traditional style hotel to be an excellent place to stay. The rooms, particularly the de luxe room in which our friends stayed, were spacious, aesthetically pleasant and with every amenity. The hotel is minutes walk from the main sights of the old city and also close to the waterfront of the Golden Horn. The hotel combines the comfort of a large high class hotel with the hospitality of a guest house. The staff related to us in a very personal way and we were given advice and help about where to go and what to do in the city. It was as if everyone involved really cared to make us feel at home."

Staying in Sirkeci Konak
"The hotel was fantastic, the room very beautiful and the whole hotel staff really friendly, they've always helped us when we needed something. The only two annoying things were on the one hand the noise of the building site to enlarge the hotel (but that's actually inevitable, and it wasn't so bad!). The other thing was the too strong air conditioning in the breakfast hall and at the reception. I think I got a cold there because of the too strong difference between the temperature outside (35°) and the temperature inside (maybe 21°?). We could regulate it in our room, but in the rest of the hotel it was really too cold and not very healthy!"

"We stayed at the Sirkeci Konak recently. Although the hotel is small compared to international chains, the facilities they offer can make you say "Are you really sure this is a small hotel?". A swimming pool, restaurant, and bar usually helps classify the hotel as a medium sized one, but they even have a turkish bath! The rooms that the hotel offers varies, from compfy standard rooms to larger suite rooms. They are all equipped with real air conditioning, (compared to some of the local shops which only blew hot air at us). The hotel is also spotless. Bathrooms are great with wonderful showers and nice amenities. The front desk staff is very attentive and helpful. Also the buffet breakfast included in our rate is excellent with a great variety of food. Some hotels brag great sceneries and olympic-sized swimming pools, but not every 5-star hotel can say that they are in the centre of a cultural district. The Sirkeci Konak is unfathomably close to the Blue Mosque, and other tourist attractions. Altough it not the Four Seasons, for the price and service it is excellent."

Very pleasant moment!
"Very nice hotel, with charming staff! Very good location, large rooms, beautiful wood, flowers, etc.... We had much pleasure sleeping and "living" there 2 days at the end of our second trip in Istanbul! Enjoy it!"

Loved Everything about Turkey and the Hotel.
"We stayed at the Sirkeci Konak Hotel in Istanbul during July 2007. Everything about our stay there was perfect from the beautiful room with welcoming flowers, and little pot pourri sachets on our beds down to the friendly and welcoming staff. Breakfasts were excellent but of particular notice was the attention to cleanliness everywhere. We found the dining room staff delightful - they always had time for a little chat and to help us with our pathetic turkish. The receptionist, Alkan was a treasure. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble, from changing our Aussie currency, arranging trips, organising wake up calls to general support and friendliness. He has a wicked sense of humour. We couldn't fault the hotel or the staff. We had a great holiday in a great place with great people - the Sirkeci Konak was simply the icing on the cake. We certainly plan to return there."

Exceptional Service at a Superb Location
"There would be many excellent hotels out there but the staff clearly differentiate this hotel from others. What stood out for us is that they treat their fellow colleagues as friends - a good indication of the team work and customer service they provide to their guests. New, clean, spacious, excellent facilities, an extensive breakfast menu, reasonably priced dinner menu, close proximity to the main attractions and transport, and courteous and friendly staff at all hours of the day and night made our experience in Istanbul truly exceptional."

Personal Service, Great Find in Istanbul!
"Truly an excellent experience at this really clean, classic "antique" style hotel. We were welcomed at the hotel with apple tea and stayed in a nice triple room with a balcony. Refreshingly, the third bed was a real bed, not the usual half flat rollway beds. The breakfast was overwhelming, tons of choice and all of high quality and really lovely service. The hotel was still in final stages of preparation, so some repairs were still ongoing but nothing that was major. The staff were always attentive, personable, and took care to ensure that our stay was pleasant. And surprisingly, we came back from long day wandering in town to be surprised with a whole story about a "problem" - turns out they had prepared a big surprise birthday cake and champagne for me prepared by the front office. What a lovely day! I have stayed in 5 star hotels and never had this personal service! the hotel has a hamman and small swimming pool - the facilities are immaculately clean and quiet. So highly recommend use of these areas. Massage is also available for a reasonable rates. There is a rooftop area, serving drinks with a view of the bosphorus and the gardens. You don't see a huge view but its a nice terrace and great for a late afternoon visit in town. The hotel, as we had originally aimed to stay in the taksim district was a spendid find. It's located in a quieter location on a side street but really, a few metres walk and you are in the main area, close to shops, restaurants and a short 5-10 min walk to the hague sophia and the main restaurant areas. It's also a walkable - 20 mins walk to the Grand Bazaar, 10 mins walk to the Tokapi Palace front entrance, 5 mins from the Tokapi Public gardens. We had a small problem trying to checkout as the credit card system did not work but the staff were unfailingly kind and apologetic and in the end, we managed to solve the issue. We got opening offer rates which is very good value for money. Would absolutely recommend this hotel to travellers and go back and stay there again."

Fantastic Hotel & Excellent Services
"This hotel is fantastic. Situated in the old town, it's close to most of the attractions such as the Blue Mosque & Topaki. 300m away from the train station means it will take you ~5min to get to the hotel upon arrival by train. The room is spacious & newly decorated. The staff is friendly & professional. Breakfast is good with a variety of choices. One can comfortably spend some time in the lounge & dining area to plan ahead the day's itinery. This hotel is unique & great for travellers who would like to enjoy a personal & satisfactory holiday. I highly recommend this to all other fellow travellers. K Lam"

"This Hotel was an amazingly good choice: it's brand new, spotlessly clean, with spacious, beautifully decorated rooms, a superb location right in the middle of all of Istanbul's most incredible sights, and with an incredible good & extensive breakfast buffet. From all my travels around the world this truly is quality for your money of the very best kind and is worth every penny, lira, euro or dollar you may spend on it!!! Most importantly and noteworthy, however, was the staff, and in particular the front desk staff, whom have been going well beyond their normal duties and even well beyond from what I have experienced in places like the Ritz, Four Seasons, etc. In our case the front desk management even managed (remotely) to positively influence the immigration officers at the airport, when, upon arrival, we were faced with a most undesirable situation in the form of my Mexican wife not having been granted access into Turkey, to revoke their decisions and still issue her with a 15 day tourist visa. This proces, however, I can not recommend for anybody to copy, so please check out your visa requirements in detail since we were originally given false information by embassy and airlines alike. In short, the people at the Sirkeci Konak have been truly outstanding throughout our 5 day stay in terms of thier services and assistance and have made this stay into a truly unforgetable travel expereince and hence I can wholeheartedly recommend this place to anybody. I guarantee you will have an amazingly good time in a most excellent place, with spectacular surroundings, all supported by the most friendly & excellent staff to ensure you will leave Istanbul with the best experience Turkey can offer you!!!!!!!!!!!!"
