Kapmar....Can't wait to go back!
"Spotless clean rooms which smelled fresh on arrival and after cleaners had been in every day. Clean towels every day and I am CONVINCED we had clean linen every day too! Basic, but that is to be expected and we were more than happy with our room which had a lovely view of the square over the road! Very central location which was just what we were looking for! One small complaint was the extra charges for air con, safe box and "keep room" for departure day....quite costly at £65 for a week but money well spent! Staff were absolutely FANTASTIC and could not have been more friendly or helpful.....only hope they are all still there when we go back....after a few days, felt like old friends! Very sad to leave two weeks ago and am now looking to return to the Kapmar before the end of the season! As I have already said, I CANNOT wait to return to the Kapmar!"

"we returned from our first holiday in Turkey at the Kapmar Hotel and will definatley be going back next year. Murat and all staff were very helpful and friendly as were the maids who cleaned the rooms every day. perfect location as was only a 5min walk to the baeach and the hotel is surrounded with loads of resturaunts/bars etc with great entertainment. would highly recommend it.we were in room facing the back which looked out on to staff quarters which i really didnt mind as i would get a wee wave from the local children sitting on there balconies which always brightened my day. Very disappointed! but do recommend icemeler itself just not the Kapmar
"We never write reviews or moan but thought we should warn others who are thinking of bookin at the Kapmar, we were so disappointed. The swimming pool area in a shade and the sunbeds that are in the sun are all taken up with towels. We used the pool twice... which is really not like us,, we stayed 13 days. The hotel staff were really miserible (exception of cleaning staff who were very pleasant). Cleanliness of room not too bad but dont stay in thSe back of the hotel as it overlooks where all staff stay and they are overspilling to sleep on the balcony. I never felt comfortable to sit on the balcony because of this. Apparently front of hotel nice though. We asked if we could move to the front as we had pre-booked a front room and there was no interest in helping us at all. Last year stayed in Alara and this year paid more to have a nicer hotel and was very disappointed. Although the alara hotel wasnt the cleanest the staff at the Alara were so much more helpful and friendly. As i say dont normally write a review but felt that strongly about it and dont want someone else to go through the miserable time we've just had at the Kapmar! We went half board and were disappointed with the money we paid as the food was not edible most days and we ended up with upset stomachs. Cost us more as we then had to eat out!"

"we stayed for 11 days at this hotel, at first we werent happy with our room because it was at the back of the hotel, not a problem, we went back downstairs & told the receptionist before we unpacked, straight away we were moved to a room on the front which was much better. we did get the a/c & hired a safe. breakfast was fine, it was between 8 & 10 every morning & it wasnt a bad selection to choose from either. the rooms were cleaned regularly by the maids who changed the towels & bedding almost every day, what excellent service. the pool was a good size & there were plenty of sunbeds for everyone. the beach wasnt too far away either, there were plenty of shops & restaurants around. we found the only bar to sell a full english breakfast including tea or coffee for only 6 lira, it was as you came out of the hotel you would turn right then second right then it was along the road on the left, it was beautiful. go to the buffalo behind the hotel turn left then go along the road, it sold the cheapest beer for only 2.50 lira. they also sold cheap meals which were excellent ,we went to see the stella show at the harmony bar, he was a good drag act which cost 15 lira, but your first drink was free, i chose a cocktail because it was 12 lira, it was strong aswell not the usual watered down rubbish in small glasses either. we booked all our trips through antonio, he wears a cowboy hat & is situated when you come out of the hotel turn left, cross the road then turn right at the money exchange & he is just a little way infront. his boats, food & staff were excellent. we would reccomend the jeep safari as it is a good laugh. we would definately return to this resort & hotel we had a fabulous time."

Characterless!! Bar Con-man!!
"Went here in June with my daughter and as it was a last minute booking we got it relatively cheap. The room was adequate enough and although the bathroom was small it was ok. Our balcony overlooked the street and although you could here the music from the nearby bars it all stopped at midnight. We didn't have the air con as not needed but I wouldn't have paid the price anyway. The breakfast was usual Turkish affair, eggs, jam, toast, juice and coffee., not the best, not the worst. We used the hotel as a base only as we went to the beach every day. Even though the pool area was immaculate with plenty of sunbeds there was never a soul using it so when we did come back from the beach for a swim we got pounced on by the staff. I would probably have rated this holiday better if it were not for one of the barmen. He asked me and my daughter where we were going on our last night. Foolishly I told him we were going to the Stella Show (an absolute must............ its brilliant!!). Anyway he turned up there, plonked himself down in a chair next to us, one that he had brought in from outside as the place was chocka. He had a few drinks, wished us a safe journey home, and left. It was only when I came to pay the bill I realised he had put HIS drinks on our tab. Unfortunately this marred what was an otherwise great holiday. I have been to Turkey twice before and am going again next year..... but not to this hotel!!"

The BEST holiday we ever had
"After years of all inc this year my husband and i decided to do a holiday where we did just as we wanted eat when we wanted sleep when we wanted and party when we wanted and the Kapmar and Icmeler gave us all of that and more if we'd wanted. We are in our 50's and 60's so didnt want a 3am foam party if you do go to marmaris across the bay. At midnight the boom boom music is turned off by order of the mayor. every thing stays open but at a nice volume. the Kapmar is so central its untrue lovely clean tity and friendly Fantastic value for your money says 3 star and thats what it is bascic turkish breakfast and all other meals when and if you want them to order but u pay fair enough. So many great resurants we couldnt do them ."

Great Holiday !
"Arrived 6.30 am to a friendly welcome , upgraded our room to a 'front ' room and helped with our luggage . Breakfast usual Turkish Style , consisting of Watermelon , Cheeses , Boiled Eggs , Bread / Jams ( usual self toast rotary toaster , dry bread or burnt - haha ) tea, coffee , juice - but what more do you need - if you want the English 'Fry Up' available everywhere in restaurants outside Hotel for between 4TL & 7TL - usually tea is extra and costs about the sane as breakfast .... they have to get your money off you somehow !! Rooms clean , beds comfy, towels changed daily sheets every couple of days , bathrooms ok - a little dated but again - you get what you pay for and remember you are holidaying in Turkey . Large shower , ( shower head sprayed out everywhere on ours - but again changed imediately by the Night Manager when we mentioned it to him - he couldn't have done enough for you - very helpful & friendly ) Hairdryer in bathroom , couple of shower gels & soaps. Swimming pool always lovely & clean , fresh 'cold' water - well colder than the sea - but refreshing . Although we went out most days. We did have a snack lunch one day in Hotel and that was fine , other guests told us the Pizza's & Steaks were good and everything cooked to order , but I can't comment on those. All in all a nice Hotel for the money - All staff friendly that we came into contact with - very central to all bars etc , and 5 mins from the beach . On that note there is a section of Beach with sign saying Free sunbeds for Kapmar Hotel guests - this is true if you buy food/drinks through the beach boys looking after the beach ( Shaggy & Memhed ). Otherwise you do have to pay . Food and drink they get from Restaurant behind beach and you have use of Toilets / Shower & changing Facilities should you wish . All fine Lots of Restaurant/ Bars to choose from , all doing similar food - they all do a good selection of Turkish , / Chinese / Steaks etc - We tried to stick to Turkish , lots of variety - not just the English version of a dried up Donner .... We ate at many but Venice / Cocoa Beach are both good. We did try the Indian one night but not as nice as the one at home -but OK .... The weather well 26/9/09 to 2/10/09 - 28 to 30 oC in day - 26oC at night , and sea water around 27oC - HEAVEN ....... I would go back to this resort , and hotel . I stayed in Icemeler 4 years ago but my partner had not been before - he thought it may be a bit quiet after looking at dated pictures etc on the internet, but he was very happy i'm glad to say - with every part of the holiday. Marmaris is not for us a day or night visit is fine - but its too big , Icmeler is a nice size ! Do always Knock the price down and barter - whatevery price they say you can usually get it cheaper ......especially at the market or little stalls if they won't accept your price , walk away and they will usually shout you back and accept your price. What more can I say ....... By the way we live in Cornwall , and I was in the Hotel Trade / Management for over 15 years before getiing a nice 9 to 5 job !"

"the hotel is 5 mins from the beach, the rooms are cleaned every day, the hotel & pool are also clean, the breakfast is just the basic turkish one, the meals in the hotel are nothing special but thier are dozens of good restraunts just outside, the staff are friendly but could be a lot over friendly with the single girls on holiday, but a big problem in the bar they do not check on room numbers given for bar bills. [somebody used my room number to build a bill of £43, and it took me 4 days to sort it out.]"

"we went to KAPMAR OTEL for our honey moon because always wanted to go to Turkey and have heard so many great reviews from friends. The company we used was called A1 Travel.com and before booking i double checked if aircon is included in price and the woman on phone said yes. This company is utter rubbish as we also had other problems with them. When got to hotel the nightmare started: we were asked to pay £180 pounds for aircon and safe deposit box(which after we paid we discovered was size of a shoes box!!!) we were shocked and told receptionist that on their website and our travel company said its included but he just shrugged his shoulders and said we had to pay! we refused to pay for aircon and for 2 weeks slept in horribly hot sweaty room, bare in mind we couldnt open the balcony door because the music outside form opposite bar Las Vegas was so loud we couldnt go to sleep until 2am every night - plus they played the same music every night!!! same tracks in same order and same entertainement! how annoying! We tried this bar when first arrived and a waiter called Tigger started being our "friend" and kept on giving us coctails without much alcohol in it! what a rip off... we drunk 2 fish bowls for 8 people and walked out like nothing happened - full of juice but paid 100 liras! In hotel KAPMAR if we wanted to go to shower nothing like in pictures - we took a lot of pics of mould and chipped off old pink coloured tiles and the shower head looked like a size of the toothbrush! it was that small! and we very rarely had warm water coming out they cut it off completely after 8pm. Our bedding wasnt changed daily so the room was hot and dirty! The food every morning was the same - hard boiled eggs which often were just raw because they kept on cooking them wrong, olives, toast and 2 types of cheap cheese EVERY MORNING for 14 days..... plus seemed like all the guests in the hotel were the new owners mates all turkish with their families. You also are not allowed to bring your own food so you have to buy their expensive restaurant food which we never tried as didn't want anything more from that place. They also look at you and check when you enter the hotel if you have bags with food in your hands or if you look suspicious (as funny as it sounds)- we've seen people trying to smuggle in food but being stopped and asked to chuck the food they've bought. Can you believe it? When we were leaving for good we got freaked out by a receptionist who suddenly started coming on to us really close and asked for our names and personal details, facebook etca and told us to call him "Baby" in all seriousness when we email him... WTF...? We regret having this holiday... as we later discovered better hotels with excellent food around the area... location wise it was good but everything else DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL - its crap!!!! and a ruined memories!!!!"
