Sami Plaza Hotel

Fantastic value for money & great location
"Have recently returned from one week stay at the Sami Plaza and would recommend this hotel to anyone considering staying in Gumbet who want to be close to the beach, bars and restaurants. The hotel staff are very helpful, friendly and at £114 pp for BB in the most expensive week of the year, I cannot fault this hotel. The room was spacious and very clean (we had 3 beds) for 2 guests and a balcony overlooking the pool! The bathroom was in need of a bit of cosmetic attention and the shower head did become detached from the wall but we managed to overcome this minor problem. The pool was very inviting during the 40 degree plus heat!! The bar staff (particularly Leon) were extremely friendly and made you feel like very welcome guests. We only had breakfast and sometimes lunch at the hotel which whilst basic was acceptable. With so many restaurants to choose from within close proximity you were spoilt for choice. As two women in our early 40's the nightlife in Gumbet was too young, however, we found nearby Bodrum (only 5 mins by taxi ) to be more to our taste and would recommend evenings there either shopping, eating or drinking. If I returned to Turkey I would stay in Bodrum but only for the reason stated...however, I would not hestitate in recommending the Sami Plaza"

"When we arrived at Sami Plaza Hotel, we really where amazed. Everything was really clean. The rooms where big. And the swimming pool looked awesome. The meals where delicious. The only minor was that we neaded to pay or dranks with dinner. Normally in a hotel this should be included when you book half pension.
The location of the hotel is very good, especially for young people. It is situated in the middle of the so called "bar street".
Its a very good hotel, for a reasonable price."

to the great staff at samis
"We have been to Gumbet twice and ended up at Sami Plaza twice.First time we stayed at The Parkim Palas which was very good. But we always ended up at Sami Plaza because the staff were always friendly and always very helpful. We ended up making very good friends with the staff we now think of them as part of the family. When we went in 05 we wasnt booked in at Samis our tour operators booked us in at some grotty hotel just around the corner from Samis. We happened to mention our situation to Salih and Kylah who were working at Samis who we had made friends with on a previous visit to Gumbet. They managed to get us moved to Samis. The room was clean, tidy and comfortable the food is good though not to varied but just the staff made our stay laughing and joking from early morning at breakfast right till they were due to retire for the night.Big thank you to Borhann hope i spelt his name right he helped us with our tour operator problems. We used to do the Turkish lottery but as usual we never won. Also to Aytac who we managed to catch up with when he came to England in 06 so all being well we will be back to see our adopted family this year. Will miss Salih and Kylah as we know they have moved on but from the front of desk to back of house we love them all."

Great hotel its a must!!
"I have just back from a brill week at the sami plaza hotel!!
Well where can i start, when we checked in the hotel the staff was very fast and happy to help with all your suitcases up to your room. The second day we were there we got a telephone call to ask us if the room and vire were ok and to tell us what we could do in and around the hotel. The hotel its self is about 4 mins to the beach and about 2 mins from the nightlife (dont worry you can not hear any night life from all the bars!! SOME OF THE ROOMS DO LOOK OVER THE BUSY ROAD SO YOU MUST REQUEST A POOL VIEW, AS WE DID.
Day time at the hotel was fab, there was a children club and the always was taking all the children away (going to the beach, donkey riding and meeting with other hotel children clubs!!) which was very good because the pool was empty durin the day!!
Even though i dont have children i would rec this hotel for all travellers (even familys with smaller children)
ALL IN ALL THIS IS A VERY GOOD 3 STAR HOTEL AND I WILL BE RETURNING AT SOME POINT!!!"

Not Bad, but room for improvement
"This is our 6th time in Gumbet and we love it!
We stayed at Sami Plaza Oct 05 and in Oct 06 and hygiene and health and safety standards have slipped.
the rooms are big and spacious and are well decorated.........but the bathrooms. the bathrooms were dirty (walls covered in mould), the toilet roll holder fell off the wall, the toilet door wasn't attached to its hinges. we asked the hotel to put it right but it took 3 days before we had to consult the rep and got a room change.
the second room was much nicer but still had problems getting the sheets and towels changed.
the staff are lovely and will do anything to help (except maintainence)
with reguards to eating out at night avoid miradon. All you get is hassle and a bad meal.
The best restaurants by far are Pano Vino, Divers and Red Dragon!!!"

Very nice accomodation.
"Lovely hotel, ideally located just a minute from the centre of Gumbet and the beach. Lovely buffet breakfast each morning, spaceous room and balcony. Great pool area too.
To be honest, we never spent much time in the hotel, as we are always 'up and out' people, but this hotel really was very nice, clean, etc.....would defo go again."

fantastic cant wait to go back
"We went on a two week holiday to gumbet our 11 friends were booked into sami plaza. We 3 were booked into sunway (horrible)so every morning we got up we took taxi to our friends hotel. The staff there made us very welcome as i wanted to go home. But we only slept in sunway an stayed at sami plaza all day. The staff our fab to say the least especially LEON he was brill. We didnt want to leave every night to go back to our prison cell of a hotel the sunway but we had to. But thanks to the sami group who have two other hotels in gumbet they made our holiday SPECIAL. If you go give leon a kiss from the 14 Belfast friends he made."

laughing all the way to the sami plaza!!!!!
"I have just arrived home from my 2 week stint at Otel Sami Plaza and I had to write a review to assure all you people who have yet to go.......you are in for an absolute treat!!! I stayed in Gumbet last year but this hotel was by far a lot better...clean,comfortable,in the centre of town,on the beach.Only down side is some apts are facing the bars so if you like your sleepy time then you may have to change rooms but they will do this if any other rooms are available. If you like to sit by the pool then you will be entertained by Kamal the barman,he is an absolute gem, very good english, funny, energetic and very good at his job.All in all you will have a great time in Gumbet,if eating out go to Aloha restaurant(superb food and really cheap) and Tempo which is right across the road from Sami and ask for Ocktay,he is fab.For boat trips if your under 30 and want a good laugh go to Tyson at Park Palace Hotel and if you just want to lie back and chill go to Hasan at Sami Beach(Tysons trips take more people so less room on boat but more fun).Hope this review is of help but if you need to know anything just ask,I think I know just about all there is to know about Gumbet!"

"This is the first time we have stayed at The Sami Plaza and found the staff, facilities and food to be excellent. We are hoping to stay there again in July and would definitely recommend it to family and friends. The staff in the bar, Trees and Kamal were really funny and friendly and always very helpful."

"this hotel was in a great location, apart from that is was a joke, the staff where abrupt and unfriendly, i have been to Gumbet several times and i would not reccomend this hotel. on the 4th day me and my husband had not managed to find a sun lounger as there where not enough to go round, so we had to sit on the balcony, after reporting this to reception 3 times, nothing was done about it, they just hung up the phone, and we was told not to go the supermarket and buy things such as snacks and drinks, we had to buy them from the hotel shop or the mini bar, both where over priced!
i would reccomend the following hotels, tropicana for great staff and good location or sami beach as its on the beach front and close to all bars n restraunts "
