honeymoon from hell
"We were originally booked on another holiday to Turkey and got told the day after our wedding and 2 days before we fly that we'd have to move hotels to wow. we were so reluctant but 2 adults, 2 children and 1 infant decided to try and have a honeymoon and what a disaster, the rep knew nothinf of our situation, the room was dirty and mouldy and uncleaned even complaining does nothing the mini bar was filled with 1 water and 1 drink in a week a complaint brought nothing the food very repetative and cold kids survived on chips for 2 weeks, baby corner was a microwave and kettle and pot of baby rice nothing for a 9 month old, bars ran out of drinks and didn't restock, 24hr inclusive i don't think so food, meals, snacks and ice creams all at set times, entertainment what entertainment there was none kids club closed and opened in a meeting room in the lobbby xbox and crayons available but no security found a 4 yr old wandering around hotel on her own they had no control over kids in club, animation staff sat drinking and smoking all day and only spoke to adults, mini disco same cd 10 mins everynight oh half hour show everynight adult based, so kids bored everyday and night constant loud rave/dance music round pool felt like a club 18-30 holiday in Ibiza, we were told the animation staff tried it on with a 12 yr old girl and then the second week the animation staff all had a fight in front of the guests (inc kids) and ended up throwing chairs etc around 1 girl got bottled in the face then a fight broke between 2 of the lads and another girl stabbed one of them in the chest - this is supposed to be a family holiday and a high standard Thomas Cook hotel it was disgusting, it was ruined our honeymoon, the rep wasn't even around half the time to complain about all the goings on, we will never come here again very upsetting holiday"

FANTASTIC EXCEPT KIDS CLUB
"We got back from Wow Bodrum 2 days ago had a fantastic time, the beachsports guys are the best especially with the kids, better than the kids club, which was my only bug bare, they were miserable every day kids didnt want to go in. they never smiled, the only entertainment at night for children, my kids are 4 and 8, was a half hour disco whcih was very boring. I would not return to hotel purely because fo the lack of entheusiasm for the kids. The foods and everything elso was superb, "

"16 of us went to wow bodrum last week and had a fab time, apart from the kids club very dissapointing always miserable, no entheusiasm at all. The only entertainment at night was a mini disco 9 till 930. What a flob put me off this hotel completely which is a shame as it was fantanstic. Especially the watersports team on the far end of beach they were great with the kids better than kids club, would love to be back there "

Wow - give it a miss!
"We have returned today from WOW Bodrum. With all the great reviews we had read we had been looking forward to this holiday and we feel so let down. The hotel when it was built must have been fantastic but now it was dirty and tired looking with cracked tiles and chipped steps. The food was ok but lacked any imagination and was often cold. Our room was small and the outside table and chairs were only cleaned twice in the week we were there. The mini bar was not always replenished and the hotel customer service was a total waste of time. The wall light in the room fell off the wall twice within 5 days leaving bare electrical wires over our daughters bed.
There were not many british at the hotel and we all seemed to be placed in rooms at the outskirts of the accommodation areas - to be honest we felt that we were treated like second class citizens - the hotel staff just didn't want to know about any problems.
The pools are great and clean but the sunbeds were grubby and worn. To get a sunbed by the pool we had to set our alarm for 7.30 every morning - on our last day we got the last ones at that time!
The bar and resturant staff were helpful and friendly but we saw that once you left your table instead of replacing the top tablecloth as I had always had in past holidays they were turned over so any marks or stains didn't show at first glance. Four days into the holiday the material napkins disappeared unless you asked for them and even then if you did not state how many they would initially bring you 1 only.
I would certainly not class this as any thing more than a 3 star hotel for service - I do reaslise that the star rating is for facilities not service and that really showed. This is by comparison to other hotels we have stayed in.
It is not cheap and if you are considering going there i would advise DON'T!!!"

WOW ! Lives Up To Its Name !
"One of the best hotels we have stayed in on holiday in Europe.
Everything was included in the price, even cocktails, air con, safes, and specialist restaurants. Water sports, games room, towels. Everything you need.
Seven bars, one open all 24 hours. Quick service. Huge range of drinks.
Restaurants were an excellent buffet with wide choice of food, and three specialty bookable ones. Food was great. Not for those on a diet !
Rooms were large, modern and well furnished. Mini bar , safe, air con included so no unexpected extras to pay for.
Wonderful views across Gumbet Bay. Easy walk to town/beach or via taxi or Dolmus at door.
Many hidden features of this sprawling site man you will never be bored. Two pools and beach front.
Good free entertainment each night.
Staff were friendly helpful and very hard working.
I would go back to this hotel tomorrow if I had the chance. We enjoyed every minute of our stay here.

Holiday of Excellence
"This was our second time at this Hotel and it didn`t disapoint us. On arrival we were met by friends that also returned this year. Our Holiday was a dream come true for all of us. The Hotel had improved it`s deco and services even more. We can honestly say we were all treated like royalty. The staff were excellent especially as we had met most of them the previous year. The resort also had tried to improve it`s image with Holiday makers. It is not often that people would return to the same Hotel year after year so this Hotel Chain must be doing something right. Ourselves and our friends all brought additional family members here this time and they were not disappointed. We will again hopefully return in 2010 such is our confidence in this Hotel Chain to provide excellent service.

Brilliant - WOW!!!
"My husband and I have just returned from a week at the WOW Resort Gumbet. After reading some negative reviews, we were a little apprehensive about going. From the minute we arrived, we were very impressed with the magnificent view over the bay from the Reception area and our room with a sea view was spotless and roomy. Shower gel, soap, and other toiletries were provided free. The minibar was replenished daily and that was also free. Banana boat, pedaloes, water slides, tennis, etc all free. In fact, we did not pay for anything, apart from some tips for our cleaner and waiter. The food in the main restaurant was fantastic with so many choices to suit all tastes. We ate everything, including salads and had no upset stomachs. You could also book a night at the Italian restaurant, the Mediterranean restaurant and Turkish restaurant and we found the service excellent and the food was great. We particularly enjoyed the Italian and you could also get snacks at any of these restaurants throughout the day, the pizza was particularly good. The animation team were so friendly, they made an effort to include everyone young or old and often sat with people during their meals to get to know everyone. Erjan was particularly nice. The dolmus buses stopped outside the hotel and ran every 10 minutes or so and these took you to either Gumbet or further on to Bodrum, which was lovely with a castle and museum and a delightful harbour. We spoke to many couples during our stay and they all agreed the hotel and facilities were excellent and that they would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to their friends. "

"My wife and I plus our son of 8yrs had a wonderful time at this Hotel. We met two other couples who had similar thoughts. So impressed are we all that we will be returning in 2009 to all link up again. Infact we will all be taking extra family and freinds back with us. We loved everything about this Hotel and it`s resort. Fellow guests were great regardless of their origin and the management and staff were brilliant. Roll on 2009.

"Well what can i say except wow, from the moment you walked in the reception you overlooked the bay of gumbet
the staff were very friendly, the rooms were great, they had toiletries, hairdryer
free safety deposit box, and they restocked the fridge everyday with mineral water, beer and soft drinks this was free throughout the stay, the rooms were spacious with air conditioning
the food in the buffet was great lots of choice you could squeeze your own orange juice every morning, lots of choice
we also ate in the italian which was part of the all inclusive this was also very good
We were supplied with beach towels every day you just took a token to the pool and they would give you free towels then you took them back and got your token back
the walk to gumbet was about 10 - 15 mins this was a nice walk quite a few shops and lots of bars and restaurants, we got the taxi to bodrum which took about 20 mins that cost about 15 lira which was about £6 a bargain you could also get the bus if you wanted
the resort was very clean the pool was fantastic the beach was great, drinks all day and food was served on a regular basis, the shows were ok
the beach also had plenty of sunbeds and also a jetty with large bean bags on it was lovely to sit here the temperature was about 40 degrees when we went but there was a lovely breeze
cannot fault this hotel at all there was a lot of different nationalities there, and would recommend this for families and single people
go and enjoy
we will be going back at some point."
