"We stayed at the Villa Daffodil twice this year. As a group of four people we have been staying at the Daffodil for many years. The location is superb with magnificent views over the bay and mountains surrounding the hotel. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble and they are always there to help. The hotel arrange for our airport transfers and it is always reassuring to know that a car is always waiting for us.
The rooms are very clean with fresh towels every day. We always have the same rooms each time we visit so it certainly feels like home from home.
A highlight of each trip is a day out on the owner's yacht when we are always asked what we would like to have for lunch. Fish is always our choice.
Breakfasts are more than adequate and very fresh. The restaurant overlooks the bay and very romantic in the evening! Evening meals are also available and are of extremely high quality.
There is nothing to dislike about staying here and we have always met some very interesting people during our stay. Last year we treated my daughter, son in law and 15yr old grandson to a weeks stay. This was their first visit to Turkey and were very impressed. As my son in law said, he could sit all day on the very comfortable terrace looking across the bay. They are also going to go back.
It is impossible to find any negative comments as this hotel is certainly value for money and we now consider we have found paradise. Being senior citizens we feel we have found paradise for a comfortable stay and would not stay in any other hotel in Fethiye. There is no beach at Fethiye but the town is bustling with extremely friendly people and a huge choice of restaurants."

Loved the Daffodil
"My sister and I recently stayed at the Villa Daffodil and would like to report the excellent service we received there.
We were given the choice of two rooms, the staff were courteous and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was simple and very fresh. The rooms were clean and comfortable, we asked for softer pillows and were promptly supplied with them. The garden/pool area was well cared for and very colourful with the abundant floral displays.
The hotel is on the sea front and there are beautiful views of the boats in the harbour. We would both reccomend the Daffodil for a relaxing break in Turkey."

"Very clean and well-run hotel. Our room was had a nice bathroom and a view of the beautiful garden. Hotel is a 15-minute walk to town along the bay (or you can take a minibus). Breakfasts were marginal (Tang instead of orange juice). The staff was helpful, but not nearly as friendly and other Turkish hotels we stayed at. Only place we stayed in Turkey where they charged for Internet and safe."

"I loved my stay here in May of 2007 - the hotel staff was extremely nice and helpful and the location couldn't be more perfect! It's a short walk or bus ride down to the city center along a beautiful harbor road, and the hotel itself is just gorgeous. Lots of hanging flowers and plants and a very tropical feel.
The swimming pool is an added bonus, but the clincher for me was the high-speed internet available. The staff keeps a computer available for guests to use at any time and it was a nice substitute to internet cafes. The outdoor bar/restaurant area was very pleasant and many guests sat around enjoying the harbor view while having drinks. You can also have dinner here if you like.
My (single) room was smallish but quite pleasant and very clean. The room was cleaned daily (this does not always happen in Turkey) and there was a small table and chairs right outside if you wanted to sit in the sun or shade (as well as a hanging rack for your towels and swimsuit).
Overall, I had a wonderful stay here and would highly recommend it. Obviously, other people agree as there were many regulars there who have been coming back time after time."

What a dump!
"The photos on the website made Villa Daffodil look like a charming boutique hotel. Not in real life. We had a small dark room at the back of the property. There was no window -- the only glass was in the frame of the entry door. There were no towels, and the bathroom was flooded. (It took 3 requests to obtain towels). The so-called "patio" which is advertised is nothing more than a small area in front of the entry door marked by posts from which guests hang their laundry to dry. The bed was hard and had no top sheet; the bottom sheet had holes in it. The blanket was moldy and made the room smell funky. There was no desk or chair in the room, and the bathroom was so small 2 people could not stand in it at the same time. The best I can say about the room is that the air conditioning worked.
Of the three receptionists on duty while we were there, only one made an effort to be helpful. Indeed, when we asked one of the other receptionists, who was reclining on a motorcycle in front of the hotel entrance, where we could find a pharmacy, we were told "there are many in town." When we asked to be directed to one of the many, the receptionist demurred and told us to ask the tourist office. He never even sat up. His only interest in us seemed to be in reserving a 1-day boat trip for us with a company that, no doubt, gave him a cut. His complete indifference to our request to be directed to a pharmacy stood in stark contrast to the attitude of our waiter at a restaurant in town who, when asked where we might seek medical attention for a small matter, offered to drive us to the hospital himself.
The breakfast at Villa Daffodil was acceptable (hard boiled eggs, cheese, olives, honey, sliced processed meat, tomatoes, cold cereal) but did not compare favorably with the breakfasts at other hotels we stayed at which also had fruit and yogurt.
We stayed at several lovely hotels during our 2-week trip to Turkey where the staff was engaged and helpful -- Villa Daffodil, unfortunately, was not one of them. Had we not prepaid, we would have left."

"Booked a very last minute cheap week away & decided to go for Villa Daffodil. Wanted somewhere quiet, relaxing, chilled, away from noise with pretty scenery and we got just that.
Location: Situated just across a narrow road from the pretty Bay of Fethiye. The road is quiet, although it was October so could get busier in peak season. It's a 10 min scenic walk overlooking the bay & marina to the main centre of Fethiye therefore the Daffodil is well away from the main town traffic. The walk is well lit, but you can always get the local Dolmus which passes just outside. There are a couple of mini markets 2 minute walk away and the restaurants are mostly in the centre.
Room: Lucky enough to get a quiet, light & airy double room overlooking the pool & pine clad mountains at the back of the hotel (1st floor - room 302 or 303). The rooms on the ground floor (situated at the side of the hotel & at the back couryard) although appear a little dark, have their own patio areas. The rooms on the 1st floor have double doors to a very small balcony which is not big enough to sit out on, but have table & chairs tucked just inside the room. Rooms at the front have a fabulous view of the bay but may be affected by road/Dolmus noise. Our room was very clean, had sat TV (which we never used), air con (payable extra). The bedding was changed twice weekly but freshly made every day with clean towels & plenty of loo roll!
Pool: Small clean pool with wooden loungers, umbrellas & cushions. (If you want to find a bigger pool it's useful to note that nearby hotels charge non-residents for use of the pool/sunbeds).
Breakfast: Traditional - eggs, cheese, cold meats, bread, fruit, juice, honey.
Hospitality: Thought the owner looked like Shaun Connery! Very happy/friendly. Staff very friendly & hard working.
Extras: There's no restaurant/dinner menu at the Daffodil as such, but the owner will gladly arrange for fresh fish to be delivered to the hotel where he will cook/bbq it especially for his guests. It feels very exclusive so just have a word/tell him what you want and he'll sort it! We had huge 4 course dinner which inc octopus mezes, big juicy prawns & fresh squid skewers, mirror fish served & deboned at our table. It felt very special and was served by candlelight on the breakfast terrace overlooking the bay - we felt like king and queen! This obviously comes with a price and we paid £25 per head, which is pricey for Turkey but back home would have been double. Best thing is to fix the price when you order. Another exclusive is that you can hire his posh boat. He will take you and a couple of other select hotel guests out on an island tour and throw in a fresh fish lunch. For this personal touch there's a price of £20-£35 each depending on his generous mood! There's plenty of great cheap and cheerful boat trips available at the harbour for as little £6. (We went for the cheap option!!)
Beach: No beaches in Fethiye, hence reason why hotel quiet as not your traditional family beach holiday. Mainly a fishing harbour & yacht marina, so there's plenty of boats offering cheap day trips & a water taxi service to Calis beach. Olu Deniz beach is by far the best & is a 30 min dolmus ride.
Cost: £150 each - Thomas Cook - Transfer: 1hr
About us: Couple aged 30 wanting to get away from our busy work/hectic social life and spend quality time!
Final comment: Must not forget that this is only a 2* hotel, so forget it if you're expecting 5* luxury! It's basic with a twist of style, clean and quiet. The guests (mainly German & British) are people who want to whisper to one another and respect the other hotel guests. If you are naturally noisy and like singing Show me the Way to Amarillo on the Karaoke whilst your kids run riot round the pool, then the Daffodil is not for you!"

a fantastic hotel
"I stayed at Villa Daffodil for 2 weeks with my mom, and throughout the time we were there we had a great holiday. The hotel is a lovely place to stay with nice rooms, a good pool, great restaurant and amazing staff! We enjoyed the holiday and our stay at Villa Daffodil so much we have booked another 2 week stay there for next year!"

Not happy at all!
"Although, we very much enjoyed the beautiful region of Turkey that Fethiye is nestled in the only trouble we had in the whole of our stay was with the Villa Daffodil! Having booked for 12 nights in advance you would have thought that nothing could be simpler when coming to pay the bill - unfortunately, this was not the case. To explain, we had booked in late on Friday evening at about 7:30pm - we had booked out early a week on Wednesday about 8:30am. Anyone that counts the nights stayed will come up with 12 nights. The hotel staff insisted on charging us for 13 nights! How they got to this number I have no idea. We politely tried to explain our situation and that we had only stayed for 12 nights, but it made no impact and they insisted that the day we arrived was charged as a full day.
We did refuse to pay at first but feeling that perhaps this was just the way hotels in Turkey charge and not wishing to get the staff in any trouble we paid for the extra day that we had not stayed for. To add insult to injury they then started to convert the price they charged from a rate set in US$ to Turkish Lira. Needless to say the rate they chose put us at even more of a financial loss.
I have since learnt that this is not the Turkish way to charge, only a rip-off hotel way of charging. I have attempted to contact the hotel owner, Huseyin, to resolve this situation since our return, but he has ignored all attempts at contact. He obviously holds his customers in very low regard and is probably rubbing his hands together waiting for the next sucker to come along.
For anyone reading this, I advise you to visit Fethiye, as the place and the people are truly wonderful, however do not stay at this hotel as it left us out of pocket and spoilt our last day in Turkey, and I wonder what other scams they have waiting to spring on their unsuspecting holidaying guests.
This was a highly embarrassing situation that I would not want to be repeated on anyone."

Check your bill
"We enjoyed a lovely stay in Villa Daffodil in July - great, clean room overlooking the pool, walking distance to the centre of town, breakfast on the terrace with views of the marina.
Unfortunately when we came to pay our bill we were placed in the embarrassing situation of being charged for nine days even though we had stayed for eight nights. We have travelled widely in all continents and have never, ever come across a hotel that charges by the day. I don't know whether this is some sort of scam to get extra money out of guests but it left a very bad taste in the mouth.
We have been informed by the owner ahead of our arrival that the rooms would cost £30 per night but when were were checking out as the exchange rate had changed the receptionist tried to charge us more. When we asked for some change he denied having any money on reception but, as we made a fuss, he eventually opened the safe and there was loads of cash in it! As he - nor any of the staff on duty that night - spoke very good English it was quite difficult to reason with them. Our taxi was due to pick us up for the airport so we paid the money and left but couldnt help feeling ripped off. If you do go here make sure you are told in advance exactly how much you will be expected to pay."

Good hotel for the budget traveler
"My husband and I and another couple stayed one night at the Villa Daffodil in June, 2005. This small hotel was clean and comfortable, had a great view of a small harbor, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were on the small side, but had a cute enclosed porch with french doors. Although we had a car, we used Fethiye's bus service to Old Town which went right in front of the hotel. The hotel had a small bar and restaurant but since we were there only one evening, we ate in town. The pool was small, but had a nice area around the pool for lounging. The staff served a modest breakfast of cheese, salami, olives, tomatos, cereal, bread, juice and coffee."

"Suprise but not a pleasant one!
Villa Daffodil is renovated with taste and if you are lucky to get a room at the back of the property, around the pool area you will enjoy,
maybe, your vacation there. If you get the "best" rooms acording with hotel's staff, in top off their restaurant (where the music is played up to one in the night) the picture is completly different.
The Hotel is placed very closed to a bussy road, the noise in the front rooms is to be taken seriously.
The personal displayed an overfrendly atitude as long as they are not asked to resolve some of the inconveniences. When faced with a request, we had been "unfrendly" invited to change the hotel
(booked long in advance from Canada) if we do not like their conditions. We did and we had a wonderful time after "Daffodil experience"!
It was in three weeks holiday in Turkey the only place where we had been face with arogance.
Turkey is a splendid destination, a dream for a vacation in spite off our experience at Hotel Daffodil."
