Aegean Great!

"From the moment we stepped through the beautiful wrought-iron gate and into what's got to be one of the best views of the Aegean, we knew we'd lucked out. Add to that the charm of our two Irish hosts whose lovely lilting accents and Western in-country perspective on and information about all things local was entertaining and helpful. The hotel has been beautifully renovated and was an absolute pleasure to stay in: stunning balcony view, comfy sitting room, cool air conditioning, tasteful interior design and decor, refreshing pool, and gorgeous patio where we loved having our delicious Turkish breakfast. All in all a fabulous place to stay, in fact, the only place I'd stay in Bodrum, as I tell everyone I meet."

What a find!!! Great Views!

"LOCATION: Amazing for the views. 15-20 minute walk to the main beach area. Very quiet location. Many people may prefer to taxi ($6 to $10 YTL) into town.

BED/SHEETS/PILLOW: Bed is fairly comfortable with decent sheets. Nothing special but it’s fine.

LIGHTING: Great lighting in all rooms.

SHOWER: Small, good water pressure. Clean, but doesn’t seem remodeled like the rest of the room/common area

TOILETRIES: Provided but preferred to use my own.

CLEANLINESS: Rooms, pool, and common areas are spotlessly clean.

A/C: Great in the living area, the bedroom doesn’t have separate A/C and the room remained very hot. We were in Bordrum during a time that it was hotter than usual.

CLOSET SPACE: Plenty of space for two people

STYLE OF ROOM: Bedroom was simple and living space was extremely comfortable and homey with 2 new, nice couches. View from living room (top floor rooms are best) are stunning.

FOOD: Only breakfast is served here and they provide Turkish breakfast and/or muesli.

TV/INTERNET: TV was smaller than would have liked. The TV had the most English stations than any other hotel we’ve stayed at in Turkey. Must have been 30+ stations (approx. 5 in English). Spotty internet reception in the room (using another homes wifi connection). Good connection by the pool.

SERVICE: Relaxed. Good enough. The English speaking owners are extremely hospitable and make you feel as if you are staying at their home as opposed to a hotel.

COMMON AREA: Pool is so relaxing, quiet, and beautiful. Lounge chairs have an elevated deck that has fantastic views.

TIPS: If you are looking for a small hotel in Bodrum, I definitely recommend this one. After a tremendous amount of research, this place turned out to be fantastic. There is no lobby at this hotel which adds to the feeling that you are staying at someone’s house. We saw one (larger) hotel that was really nice on the way to the beach and were interested in staying there as well until we saw that every one of the approx 40 lounge chairs was taken and it was packed with loud people. We went back to the Aegean Gate, went to the pool and had it all to ourselves. We knew that we made the right decision. You will too if you stay here."

"Just arrived back from the best holiday yet, the Aegean Gate had everything we were looking for, the spacious ground floor apartment was more than ample for our 2 adults, a 10 year old and our 13 year old, it was spotlessly clean and very well appointted with that homely touch, the pool kept the kids happy all week. The two Irish owners, Gary and Rory, had a great local knowledge and were only too willing to share their advice on where to go and what to see, you would travel far to find two more attentive hosts, we will definately be back. The hotel is in the quieter area of Bodrum but the taxi rank 50 metres from the entrance can have you in the town centre in less than 10 minutes, so you get the best of both worlds. Give it try you will not be disappointed."

"Awesome place to stay while in Bodrum. The hotel is run by two Irish guys that were very accommodating. Rooms were immaculate. Pool was amazing. Views were just as amazing. If i ever head back to Bodrum I would stay nowhere else than here. We were only there 2 nights and wanted to and could have stayed a week. There's a ton of room to move around and hang out at this place and I couldn't imagine it ever feeling overcrowded. It's just such an amazing spot to chill out."

"I highly recommend this boutique hotel! It was a great value with a nice view of the Aegean Sea and friendly service. Contemporary furniture, pool, A/C, minibar are just a few of the great amenities. The complex was fun, secure and is walking distance to the marina/downtown area."

"Just a few lines to recommend the most fantastic hotel called the Aegean Gate in Bodrum [--].

The hotel itself is very classy but this is not reflected in the price. We were able to book our direct flights through charterflight.co.uk and pay for our stay at the hotel which in total was the price of what we would estimate as a fair price for 1 person. It is walking distance to Bodrum central which is everything you would expect from a holiday resort but only minutes away at the Aegean Gate hotel you have tranquility and breath taking views which is easy to believe when you are lying by the pool or relaxing in the chill-out area that you are on your own private island. The 2 irish guys that run the hotel have a fantastic local knowledge of the area which helped us a lot as this was our first time in Bodrum and also there was no language barrier which was great.

We were impressed from the moment we arrived at the hotel. From the great views, the overall cleanliness, the friendly staff, the spacious rooms and the overall eagerness from the staff to ensure that your stay is memorable. It is luxury without the price tag.

We have booked to go back at the end of the season, think this says it all!"

"Our trip to Bodrum was our first taste of Turkey - and it won't be our last! We stayed at Aegean Gate having come across the hotel website online and were very pleased with our find. A charter flight with Budget travel made a direct flight from Dublin to Bodrum possible for just 300 euros - and the hotel's competitive rates meant we had a week away for little more than a package fare but without the package feel. Flying time is about 4 and a half hours, and a taxi pick-up service arranged through the hotel makes arrival very painless.

The hotel is situate a short walk from Bodrum Central, but far enough from the hussle and bustle to give you that holiday feel of peace and quiet.

The hotel is "boutique" but in the nicest sense of the word - small (just 6 rooms) but not cramped; stylish (with its own poolside bar and chill-out zone overlooking the sea) but not austere; cool but not without a down-at-home sense of fun. Aegean Gate is owned by 2 Irish guys who took over the place a couple of years ago - they were consumate hosts who ensured a clean and efficient ambience but without the formality you get with some hotels. They are happy to pass on local knowledge of things to see and do in English which is of course a wonderful plus for the temporary visitor.

Aegean Gate does breakfast which can be taken in your room or al fresco by the pool - but there is no shortage of local eateries for the more adventurous with decent food at keen prices. All in all we loved our trip and will definitely be back - highly recommended!"

"Found this little beauty of a hotel through the internet ([[--]). From the moment we arrived we knew we found the right hotel. The owners of this hotel are irish which was great as there was no language barrier and the craic was mighty. The Hotel itself is quite small which I think makes it so special as every guest is a person and not a number. The deco and style of the hotel is very sophisticated and the views are incrediable. You can watch the sun set over the Aegean Sea which is a beautiful site.

I will finish off by telling you that before we left the Aegeangate Hotel we rebooked for next year!"

"Turkey is becoming a more and more popular holiday destination. Described as the ‘crossroads of Europe and Asia'. Turkey lies across the two continents and is now easily accessible to the independent traveller with airlines such as Turkish Airlines(THY), Ageanflights, JMC, Britannia and My Travel flying direct to Bodrum which is very unique city of Turkey. The Agean coast of Turkey is renowned for its golden, sandy beaches and lively resorts such as Bodrum and Gumbet, whereas vibrant Istanbul in the North is comprised of modern hotels and shopping centres built alongside decorative mosques and historical churches.Turkey has everything from watersports and ski-ing to river cruises and nightlife.
LOCATION of AEGEAN GATE HOTEL
Bodrum's smallest boutique hotel Aegean Gate Hotel set in unique natural grounds. Within easy access to Bodrum centre but far enough away from the bustling nightlife of Bodrum for a peaceful nights sleep. Located about 15 minutes walk from the castle and 5 minutes walk from shops and restaurants. Luckily best night clup In Turkey is 5 minutes walk away (must visit Halikarnas Disco!)
MANAGEMENT
Irish owners/ English speaking ensure European standards. Very helpfull and friendly. Quick reply to questıons and reservations. Reasonable prices for different seasons.
ROOMS
6 rooms with large balcony overlooking the pool, the Aegean sea to the Greek island of Kos. Formal décoration and hugely comfortable, with all the features you’d expect; a sitting area with a couple of sofas, coffee table, tv, fridge , kettle, glasses, cups, teabags, coffees, seperate bedroom(twın or double bed), bedside tables, lamps, wardrope (extra blankets, hangers ın) and bathroom with shower 7/24 hour-hot water. Split air conditioning and ceiling fan.
FOOD
Breakfasts of musili and yoghurt or Toast and scarmbled eggs, with butter, jam spredable cheese, yellow cheese and fruit plates.
WE LÄ°KE
More than boutique hotel you will experience of your own villa. http://www.aegeangatehotel.com/The_Aegean_Gate_Hotel/The_Aegean_Gate_Hotel.html
Website is very useful to learn before hand to go there. Rory and Gary spoil you like a friend rather than manager of the hotel. Breakfast ıs not self-service! you prefer what would you like to eat; no queue no rush and very quick service by Rory and Gary. Briefly ; Great opportunıty to discover Bodrum, taste Turkish or İnternatıonal dishes, relax by The Aegean sea or lovely pool, enjoy the sunshine on soft sunbeds (around pool or very private terrace). You would like to stay more and hate the reality of saying good-by to Aegean Gate Hotel/Bodrum/Turkey ."
