Belek has a high proportion of repeat visitors, many of them drawn back by the stunning white beaches. Lush, green, pine tree covered mountains provide an attractive backdrop to the coastline and make for some wonderful photo opportunities. Many package holidays in Belek are offered by the sumptuous seafront hotels that have their own private stretches of beach, making this a great destination for sun worshippers.
Belek is well located for visiting the many historical sites of this part of the world. The 2nd Century Aspendos Theatre is located near the town and is remarkably well-preserved. Those visiting during peak season will be lucky enough to have the chance to attend one of the many concerts staged here during the summer months. The Roman ruins at Side are just a bus journey away and are also well worth a visit. If shopping is your thing, the market town of Manavgat is home to the largest market in this part of Turkey, and is a great place to hone your haggling skills.
Although many of the package holiday deals are to all-inclusive hotels, the local lokantas and restaurants are very reasonably priced and serve wonderful regional dishes - so be sure to spend an evening or two sampling the local delights.
