Illness! Ruined holiday!
"Just back from a week at Sherwood Breezes which we booked in July having read good Trip Adviser reviews. Looking at the reviews in recent weeks however, it seems as though the standards at Sherwood Breezes have dramatically dropped and we can understand the reasons for some (though not all) of the complaints.
Firstly, the sickness. We arrived on the Wednesday and on Saturday we were both ill with sickness and diarrhoea which lasted for around 24 hours. Although not 100% right, we continued to enjoy the holiday until the following Wednesday when we were both sick again, just in time for the journey home! As we kept ourselves to ourselves on the holiday, we assumed the sickness was just something local to us. On the coach to the airport, however, we were talking to the couple next to us who said they had also been ill as had numerous other people (they said at one point there had been queues at the pharmacy opposite the hotel). At this point the Jet2 rep on the coach, with no prompting, said “Sherwood Breezes?” Apparently, according to the rep, there have been sickness problems at the hotel for the past 6 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Secondly, the food. We found this disappointing (especially for a 5* hotel). Breakfast was not the best (although we could always find something we’d eat), lunch time meals at the beach bar café were ok but the evening food was very disappointing. Whilst the wide but poor selection of food might just be a reflection of our personal taste, the fact that most of the time it was luke warm at best doesn’t. It got to the point where we couldn’t face eating the evening meal on the last two nights.
We’re not qualified to say that the sickness is related to the quality of the food, but there is definitely something causing illness at the hotel and it’s particularly annoying to learn that Jet2 have been aware of this for some time and are not advising people.
Other aspects that have been mentioned in other reviews and were disappointing for a 5* hotel were: Air-conditioning in the room which hardly did anything, WI-FI which was not accessible in many places around the hotel, including our room and the bar balcony and was very hit or miss in all other areas and the reception staff who were not particularly helpful.
On the positive side, we thought everything else about the hotel was excellent. The hotel was nice and clean, the room was nice and well maintained and the pool and beach areas were lovely. We also found all the bar and cleaning staff friendly, polite and helpful.
Also, Ladies do not go shopping on your own – unpleasant experience occurred – I won’t go into detail!"

second holiday at this hotel GREAT
Just got back from another visit to sherwood breezes, and again cant rearly falt it. still very clean and i mean clean. food was better then the last visit. plenty of choises for everyone. staff all good. free minibar stocked everyday and rooms clean everyday. the only thing is that the rooms are abit dated and could do with a refurb, but your only sleeping in them. There are some shops in the hotel that are great and some that are not . Message to all you kids keep away from the sweet shop is it is very expencive, dont buy from there. dont buy your toys from the shops ( poor Qualitly as is everywhere). inflatible lilos, get them from shop across the road.. another thing to watch out for is the posh shopping mall opp the hotel, nice shops selling ugg boots and fancy name brands... They are all fake but look Genuine.. look at everything as fake because it is... anyway enough about the shops.. evening enterainment is brilliant you wont go wrong fith this place for a holiday"

"Just got back from a 7 night holiday at the sherwood breeses.. arrived in Antalia airport late at night, took a cab to hotel witch was 40 Turkish lire witch was a fair price. arrived at hotel looked a bit dark from the outside compaired to the others. but once inside it was beutifull and very very very clean. room was very clean, but the beds were abit hard... free mini bar with coke, fanta, beer and water this is stocked daily.. breakfast in main restarant was very good, something for everyone,( Please bear it in mind you are in turkey).. there is so much food its lovely.. Lunch in main resterant and in the breeses resterant, hamburgers, chips, spaggetti for the kids... dinner.. also excelent. food 24 hours aday.. staff are very frendly and helpfull.. beach is mint, and there is plenty of room.. evening entertainment is good throughout the resort..kids club is very good,it will keep your kids busy all day and the staff are very pleasent... NOT SO GOOD BITS.. beach sports ie jetski bannana, boats ect bit to pricey.. £30 for ten mins... Dont buy anything from the shops inside the hotel you wont believe the prices.. Be aware there is a shop that sells watches and charms ( pandora and links ect..THEY ARE FAKE 100% fake,he says there real but dont be fooled.. dont be ripped off.. there is a shop over the bridge near the pool that sells little keepsakes that one is good.. If you choose this hotel you wont go wrong.. best hotel ive ever stayed. and im booking for next year ..happy holiday"

read review, please go!!!
"Just came back from Sherwood Breezes, and all I can say is that it is one of the best hotels I've ever been to. The food in the main resturant is good,if you love veg and fruit. Snack bar always open for 2hr 30mins. The television ons are in German, but if you complain to the reception, they will change it to English. This hotel caters mostly Germans and Russians, but apart from that, everything is good. Ece was very nice,Emre very kind and ,Sharon does yoga and certificate ceremony, and always puts a smile on our face.We lost a watch on the beach and a phone, but the reception found the mobile, and Emre found the watch. He was very nice to us, and always said to us,`enjoy your meal'. Evening entertainment funny and enjoyable mini disco brilliant, definatly coming back next year!!!"

Distinctly average - not 4/5 star!!
"We have literally just come back from a stay at Sherwood Breezes. All I can say is that it was rather disappointing. Before leaving we read all the reviews and were optimistic that although it was a 4 star, it would be okay. Especially as family we were meeting there has booked it from a brochure rating it as 5 star. Unfortunately we found there to be more negative aspects to this hotels than positives. I have listed them both below. Postives ⢠Perfect weather â 36 degrees most days ⢠Room clean ⢠Pools clean ⢠Transfer time from airport 20-25 mins ⢠Checking in and out very quick and easy ⢠Male belly dancer called Alejandro, even the men were impressed with his talents!! ⢠Enough entertainment throughout the day for active people ⢠Enough beds for this time of year although I doubt there would be at full capacity ⢠Water sports available, I highly recommend the parasailing at only 35 euro pp ⢠Clean private beach, although you wonât be able to walk on the sand due to the heat ⢠Spa, Haman only 45 euro consist of scrubbing, soap massage, face mask and full body massage. Definite value for money and helps keep your tan for longer!! Negatives: ⢠Room, throwback to the sixties, very basic for a hotel claiming to be 4/5 star ⢠The shower either has no water of was too hot or too cold. ⢠The food was 3 star quality, but quite diverse ⢠There are no lifeguards at the pools, so the relax pool is prone to becoming the unrelax kids pool once the slides close at the end of the afternoon ⢠The mini-bar was an oven rather than a fridge ⢠The bed only has a large towel as a sheet â very uncomfortable ⢠Fresh orange juice was only available in the morning. All cocktails are made with cordials. ⢠The main bar was supposed to be 24/7, but at midnight all the lights on the terrace outside where switched off and we were informed it was bed time ⢠Although the staff work very hard, a few more smiles and less gossiping would go a long way ⢠Although we had beds every day, by 8am most were taken. I would not like to be here in high season as you would have to secure a bed by 6.30 am!! ⢠Entertainment apart from gala night was poor with the same act being on twice within one week ⢠There are only 3 lifts for the 10 floors in the hotel, leading to long waits ⢠We were on the top floor and our balcony smelled of stagnant water from the roof and was full of fag ends As you can see it is not a place we would recommend or go back to. It is okay if you are looking for a relatively cheap holiday away in a country with guaranteed nice weather, but donât expect any luxury. There are loads of other hotels on the same strip which are nicer and around the same price. We have stayed in numerous all inclusive hotels in various countries and are generally quite easily pleased, but this below par."

best holidey ever
"ok so where do i start, whow what a holiday, this has to be one of the best holidays we have been on, we like others read the reveiws on this place and thought oh god what have we done, but how wrong we were, on arriving we were greeted by the staff at the front desk and they could not have been more pleasent even if they tried, and this continued for the whole two weeks from the porters to the resturant staff there was never a problem with any of them they were all so helpfull and nice, the rooms were of a good size and loved the fact the safe is free not like a lotter hotels now days as to was the mini bar thats filled up everyday without fail(unless you ask for room not to cleaned) the maids were excellent in the jobs as well, there are enough bars for what you want we were in a group of 15 ranging from 9yrs to 47yrs the kids club entertained the little ones and the disco took care of the 20yr olds and of course us olduns, there was entertainment in the ampitheater every night,ok so it was not always to our liking and prehaps could have had some shows and singers brought in instead of the animation team, but the day time acctivities were excellent, but you have to get up and take part to fully enjoy which is what we do, so your entermaintent program really depends on yourself, join in and enjoy, the animation team were outstanding and were there to please get to know them and you willo have a faantastic holiday, if you would like something done speak to entertainment manager and he will do his best we wanted a karoke night and he arranged it for us also a bingo night, cant get no fairer than that, the food was of very good standads and there was plenty to eat, you can acctually eat for 22 hours of the day dont miss the jacket potatoes at 3pm and the hot doughnuts at 4pm drinking is 24 hours lol on the downside of the drinking you have to go to the tower bar after 2am when discos shut where its quite and can be a bit of a problem for those trying to sleep in the rooms directly above the bar, out and about we went to 1 market but please do not expect cheap this is very far from it aparently this is the rich mans area of turkey and the prices reflect this 1 word of advice if you feel peckish for snacks buy from the shops directly opposite hotel and not in the hotel as we found out 2 packs pringles and a choc bar cost 18.00 pound so be carefull,(thats 18 english) i could go on for ever but id only bore you so overall this was a fantastic holiday so if you are going shortly we all hope you have just a great time as us, oh yeah and ps they do not do an english breakie lol"

"The whole Sherwood Breezes experience is one never to be missed. The Hotel is fabulous and Everything is spotlessly clean. The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. The food is out of this world and it would be almost impossible for anyone to not find something delicious and to their liking at every meal time. All bar cocktails are free and the bar staff love to make a special drink just for you from whatever you fancy !
The Animation staff are wild and whacky and put on shows for every age group. Participation is optional, if you want join in you are welcome, if not you are never 'pushed into it' as is the case at other hotels we have been to which often spoils the evening.
The rooms are comfortable and the mini bar is replenished every day. Hot water any time of the day and the maid service exceptional.
Not to be missed is the Turkish bath and massage. Dont go home without one and dont bother to have one out of the Hotel, the one on site is a very special experience and the staff sre extremely professional and polite."

"Just gotten back from a week @ the Sherwood Breezes Resort Hotel. The first thing I must say is that at the moment, it is a predominantly German hotel.
We arrived late at night on a tuesday & were immediately invited to leave our bags in reception (to be taken to our room) and go and get something to eat.
First impressions, room was quite big (we were on the 9th/top floor) clean, but quite basic. Oure room had a double & a single bed in it.
Bathroom, quite small but fine for the amount of time you spend in there! What I did like, is that the shower has a full width sliding door on it, so you dont get out of the shower & step into a puddle!
Plenty of food readily available - my only gripe is that there are 2 windows of time where you cant get anything to eat (unless you order room service). which is between 4pm-6.30pm, and 9pm-1130pm.
We didnt get a chance to try the A La Carte restaurants, as we had a reservation on the second to last night, as our excursion was delayed so didnt get back to the hotel until 9.20pm by which time all the restaurants were closed.
This was quite inconvienient, as we had been up since 5.30am (and the only food available to us then were bread rolls & pastries in the Tower Bar, so nothing substansial) and didnt get back until late (after only having a light lunch due to being on a coach most of the day) and couldnt eat in the buffet restaurant. However, after speaking with our rep, he managed to get them to bring me some sandwiches, which were perfectly fine for what I wanted. Night buffet was basic (salad, rice, bread rolls, cheese, veg) but nice to be able to get a snack after the disco had finished before bed!!
From what we did hear from other people the A La Carte restaurants were superb!
Loved the Breezes Snack Bar. Burgers cooked freshly for you served with fries. Chicken Schnietzel was also very nice.
Drinks also readily available all throughout the day. Peach Juice & Cherry Juice were my favourites :)
Cocktails & Mixed drinks (ie. vodka & coke) were VERRRRRY strong, Too strong for my liking, so I stuck to either beer or soft drinks. Even asking for just a small amount of alcohol didnt really work! Still too much for my liking, but if you like being able to taste the alcohol - then you'll love it!
My favourite drink was the rainbow - a non alcoholic cocktail!! yummy!
Spa & Wellness area was very nice. Treatments are quite expensive, but prices can be negotiated to something you might find acceptable.
We enjoyed the top package, turkish bath, face mask, massage & we got a 'free' massage for another day towards the end of the week.
Definately reccomend it if you get the opportunity to! For the Brits umong us - this is a strange experience but enjoyable!! and your skin feels fab afterwards!!! and after the massage my joints felt lubricated & mobile & muscles felt relaxed!
The evening entertainment in the Robin Hood theatre was ok - although for families with young children, perhaps a little too 'mature'. The host speaks in 3 different languages (Turkish, German & English) so can be understood by everyone.
As mentioned in the other reviews, sunbeds are few & far between. You need to grab one first thing really!
From my observations, people get them early morning, leave their things on them, and go off for a few hours - which is a bit naughty, but not much can be done about that?!
We also had our photos taken by the photographers downstairs, very professional & we were pleased with the prints. Had a look at some of the other peoples pics too which were also very nice!
If you have any questions feel free to drop me a message!!"

Great for couples
"All in all not a bad hotel, 24 hour all inclusive which for the price is amazing. went in winter time so most of the hotel closed i.e outdoor pools beach bar. But still plenty going on in the day and night well thats if your German as all the shows were in German. But we made are own fun theres ten pin bowling if you dont fancy a night on the booze. Theres a disco from 11pm till 2am not bad english music all different pop, rnb ect.
Rooms are large but make sure you ask reception for extra pillows as they only give 1 per person and theres only 2 english channels on the tv but good comedy.dont order from room service expensive and u can basically get food at least 20hrs of the day.
Everything in the hotel and area is priced in euros so i wouldnt bother taking lira or £ ( do if ur goin to mamaris tho)
The resort has plenty of shops selling "real" fakes make sure you haggle! would go back again but in the summer"

Great for a relax week!
"Rooms - adequate size, well fitted out and comfortable with free safety deposit boxes and a free mini bar stocked with soft drinks, beer and a big bottle of water which is restocked each day. Small bottles of water are available at the bars round the resort. The bathroom is well equipped with soap, shampoo and shower gel dispensers and a hairdryer. The shower is very powerful and there is plenty of hot water.
Food - is good to excellent and is available for about 22 hours a day somewhere on the resort. Breakfasts usual salad, cereals, rolls etc. with 5 differents types of egg dishes, omlettes, crepes, toasted sandwiches all being made at the grill.
Lunches can be taken in any of three different places, the main restaurant where there is general lunch dishes with excellent desserts but be warned there is a dress code, the Breezes Bar which is mainly pizza and pasta and Robins beach bar where there are hamburgers, donners, salad bar etc. During the afternoon chefs appear with fresh cucumber or carrots. There is ice cream from 1 to 3 p.m. and then the cakes appear for the coffee and cake time. Dinner is in the main restaurant and there are several theme nights. Chefs are cooking food on the terrace every night i.e. grilled fish, paella etc. Don't forget the a la carte restaurants which you are allowed to use once a week . We had the Italian and it was fantastic.
Drinks are good and there are plenty of tea and coffee stations. Soft drinks dispensers serving orange, pineapple, cherry juices and ice lemon tea are in the beach bars and tema bar. There are alcholic drinks are available all day.
Most guests be up very early to reserve the sunbeds by the pool although there are lots available on the beach. Typical dutch? Pool towels are supplied free of charge and can be changed daily but are not always available and there is always a rush when clean ones appear."
