Good Hotel

"Just gotten back from a week @ the Sherwood Breezes Resort Hotel. The first thing I must say is that at the moment, it is a predominantly German hotel.
We arrived late at night on a tuesday & were immediately invited to leave our bags in reception (to be taken to our room) and go and get something to eat.
First impressions, room was quite big (we were on the 9th/top floor) clean, but quite basic. Oure room had a double & a single bed in it.
Bathroom, quite small but fine for the amount of time you spend in there! What I did like, is that the shower has a full width sliding door on it, so you dont get out of the shower & step into a puddle!
Plenty of food readily available - my only gripe is that there are 2 windows of time where you cant get anything to eat (unless you order room service). which is between 4pm-6.30pm, and 9pm-1130pm.
We didnt get a chance to try the A La Carte restaurants, as we had a reservation on the second to last night, as our excursion was delayed so didnt get back to the hotel until 9.20pm by which time all the restaurants were closed.
This was quite inconvienient, as we had been up since 5.30am (and the only food available to us then were bread rolls & pastries in the Tower Bar, so nothing substansial) and didnt get back until late (after only having a light lunch due to being on a coach most of the day) and couldnt eat in the buffet restaurant. However, after speaking with our rep, he managed to get them to bring me some sandwiches, which were perfectly fine for what I wanted. Night buffet was basic (salad, rice, bread rolls, cheese, veg) but nice to be able to get a snack after the disco had finished before bed!!
From what we did hear from other people the A La Carte restaurants were superb!
Loved the Breezes Snack Bar. Burgers cooked freshly for you served with fries. Chicken Schnietzel was also very nice.
Drinks also readily available all throughout the day. Peach Juice & Cherry Juice were my favourites :)
Cocktails & Mixed drinks (ie. vodka & coke) were VERRRRRY strong, Too strong for my liking, so I stuck to either beer or soft drinks. Even asking for just a small amount of alcohol didnt really work! Still too much for my liking, but if you like being able to taste the alcohol - then you'll love it!
My favourite drink was the rainbow - a non alcoholic cocktail!! yummy!
Spa & Wellness area was very nice. Treatments are quite expensive, but prices can be negotiated to something you might find acceptable.
We enjoyed the top package, turkish bath, face mask, massage & we got a 'free' massage for another day towards the end of the week.
Definately reccomend it if you get the opportunity to! For the Brits umong us - this is a strange experience but enjoyable!! and your skin feels fab afterwards!!! and after the massage my joints felt lubricated & mobile & muscles felt relaxed!
The evening entertainment in the Robin Hood theatre was ok - although for families with young children, perhaps a little too 'mature'. The host speaks in 3 different languages (Turkish, German & English) so can be understood by everyone.
As mentioned in the other reviews, sunbeds are few & far between. You need to grab one first thing really!
From my observations, people get them early morning, leave their things on them, and go off for a few hours - which is a bit naughty, but not much can be done about that?!
We also had our photos taken by the photographers downstairs, very professional & we were pleased with the prints. Had a look at some of the other peoples pics too which were also very nice!
If you have any questions feel free to drop me a message!!"

"All in all not a bad hotel, 24 hour all inclusive which for the price is amazing. went in winter time so most of the hotel closed i.e outdoor pools beach bar. But still plenty going on in the day and night well thats if your German as all the shows were in German. But we made are own fun theres ten pin bowling if you dont fancy a night on the booze. Theres a disco from 11pm till 2am not bad english music all different pop, rnb ect.
Rooms are large but make sure you ask reception for extra pillows as they only give 1 per person and theres only 2 english channels on the tv but good comedy.dont order from room service expensive and u can basically get food at least 20hrs of the day.
Everything in the hotel and area is priced in euros so i wouldnt bother taking lira or £ ( do if ur goin to mamaris tho)
The resort has plenty of shops selling "real" fakes make sure you haggle! would go back again but in the summer"

"Rooms - adequate size, well fitted out and comfortable with free safety deposit boxes and a free mini bar stocked with soft drinks, beer and a big bottle of water which is restocked each day. Small bottles of water are available at the bars round the resort. The bathroom is well equipped with soap, shampoo and shower gel dispensers and a hairdryer. The shower is very powerful and there is plenty of hot water.
Food - is good to excellent and is available for about 22 hours a day somewhere on the resort. Breakfasts usual salad, cereals, rolls etc. with 5 differents types of egg dishes, omlettes, crepes, toasted sandwiches all being made at the grill.
Lunches can be taken in any of three different places, the main restaurant where there is general lunch dishes with excellent desserts but be warned there is a dress code, the Breezes Bar which is mainly pizza and pasta and Robins beach bar where there are hamburgers, donners, salad bar etc. During the afternoon chefs appear with fresh cucumber or carrots. There is ice cream from 1 to 3 p.m. and then the cakes appear for the coffee and cake time. Dinner is in the main restaurant and there are several theme nights. Chefs are cooking food on the terrace every night i.e. grilled fish, paella etc. Don't forget the a la carte restaurants which you are allowed to use once a week . We had the Italian and it was fantastic.

Drinks are good and there are plenty of tea and coffee stations. Soft drinks dispensers serving orange, pineapple, cherry juices and ice lemon tea are in the beach bars and tema bar. There are alcholic drinks are available all day.
Most guests be up very early to reserve the sunbeds by the pool although there are lots available on the beach. Typical dutch? Pool towels are supplied free of charge and can be changed daily but are not always available and there is always a rush when clean ones appear."

"arived at our hotel, me and my boyfriend, we are a young couple in early twenties. decour a bit dated, but we were given a great room, two bedrooms, two tvs and best of all two bathrooms, again bedrooms a bit dated and not up to five star standeds, you got a free mini bar which was restocked every day which was quite nice. this hotel would be great to go to in THE SUMMER!!!, but novemeber the hotel was mainly german clientel, plus weather not great couldn't go in the swimming pool or beach just too nippy, the hotel does have an indoor pool which is nice and sauna, turkish bath, steam room.

Didnt eat in the a'l carte restaraunts, but a couple we met said they were very nice, can go to one a week in the winter. the buffet restaurant was ok, have been to better all inclusives, you had more choice at lunch, because you had three buffett areas to choose from, and you could have pizza, kebab ect which was good. Drink selection again ok, not the best and no brand names, apart from soft drinks, pepsi, sprit ect.

the resort itself was a bit dead but i think thats because of the season, great hotel in the summer for familys with young and older children, and for older clientel in the winter."

Great Holiday!!!!

"My wife and I have just returned from having a 12 day holiday at The Sherwood Breezes, from the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out everything went smoothly, we didn't need to touch our cases, they were taken from us as we arrived by coach (only 20 minutes from airport) and taken to our room while checking in. All the staff were very polite, helpful and we didn't have any problems communicating. The hotel is immaculately clean 24 hours a day, the cleaners work very hard. There is always something to eat!! the food is fantastic, lots of choice, you can be as healthy/unhealthy with your diet as you wish, my wife is a vegetarian and had no problems. There is one main bar with a large seating area that is open 24 hours and through the day there are at least 4 other smaller bars where you can get drinks too. This is the first all inclusive hotel we have stayed at and certainly made full use of all facilities, with no restriction. you may only get a half pint glass when ordering a beer but so what! go get it filled again! you'll need the exercise to burn of those food calories : - ).
We decided to try out the Spa area on our second day and both had a good old scrub and massage before sun tanning, my wife also booked a facial (whatever that is) the day after, the price was reasonable compared to back home, . Please say hello to Simon if he is there, a lovely Turkish guy who speaks many languages and is very funny!!!
There is plenty of room to sunbath the pools and areas around them are well kept and look nice, the hotel has it's own stretch of beach, again plenty of sunbeds, watersports etc..
The weather wasnt' too bad, the day we arrived was overcast and it was spitting slightly, but warm!! The next 3 days were bright sunshine no wind and very warm, the next 2 days rain, rain and more rain, followed again by a few days of nice bright sun but windy this time, one more day of thunder/lightening and rain, and back to sunny again.
We were told by our travel agent to take Turkish Lira as our currency, but we found that around the Lara resort and other places we visited the euro was being used also, so take both it all spends!!
Entertainment wise, it depends on which 'animation' team is running events, we had 2 while we were there we found the daily activities like sports etc ran better with our first team but their night shows not too good! the second team we had wern't that oraginsed with daytime activities but their night shows were better, it's a bit of a lottery really!

As you may have read in earlier reviews, this hotel is mainly visited by German guests which we found to be true, probably
80%, 5 percent English and the rest from other countries, while we were there we met French/Belgian/Russian/Icelandic/Turkish/Dutch, all who were very pleasant but obviously difficult to have a full conversation with :-) Don't let the lack of fellow Brit visitors put you off.

We will return!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Not a 5 star - Ori, Montenegro

"I just came back from Antalya where I stayed at Sherwood Breezes Hotel for 10 days. Hotel is more 4 star - interior, but exterior is for a 5 star! My husband and I didn't like why the hotel doesn't have any bar, except the one which is called tower bar where they serve drinks free of charge. It;s a bit boring sitting in one bar every single day, before I came, I expected that it will be 2-3 bars, 4-5 restaurants... because usually all 5 star hotels in Turkey have them.
Rooms are with poor furniture, but clean.
Food is really impressive, I just loved it. Pools are good, clean and spacious.
If you decide to visit Lara in Antalya, I would suggest you to go in Royal Wings or Delphin Palace, they are excellent. Not Sherwood :-("

"I have just returned from a 2 week stay at this hotel, which i thoroughly enjoyed. Although, it is not a 5 star hotel ... i would say it is more like a 4 star.

The food was great especially in the Turkish & Italian a-la-carte restaurants!! The whole hotel was very clean, the staff were very friendly and the entertainment team were brilliant. I do not usually go to see the hotel shows while i'm on holiday, as they are usually a disappointment, but at this hotel they had a different show every night & some of them had the 'WoW' factor!!

I have read other reviews that state how the staff speak little English ...there are some waiting staff that do not speak it well, but we had no problems with communication.

I recommend that you have a Turkish Bath & a massage in the Spa, because they are lovely & relaxing!

The only thing that annoyed me about this hotel was that we didn't have an iron in our room & if you wanted anything to be ironed you'd have to send it to the hotel laundry, which you have to pay for. So i sugggest you take a travel iron.

Overall, I had a fantastic time at this hotel and i would probably even return when i have children, as it is a very family orientated hotel."

"Just returned from a 2 wk stay at this hotel and was a bit dissapointed, this hotel is full of german, russian, poles, ukraines and romanians nothing against these people but everything was geared towards them and very few turkish staff spoke english. on our first morning we asked 4 different members of staff including reception where this certain place was that the welcome meeting was held and not one of them knew where it was even guest relations couldnt tell us so we missed that .Meal times in the main restraunt was like a free for all with young kids running all over the place, you had to wait a fair while to be served a drink, even had one of the waiting staff asking you for tips, food presentation was excellent though. When you went to any of the bars throughout the day for a cold bottle of water you got a bottle of lukewarm water ,your room was very basic, not much drawer space , maids could of cleaned bathroom area better, animation team tried hard but need to try harder to please germans and russians {not very appreciative} WWe spoke to one of the few english speaking turks and he said this hotel didnt have much atmosphere and the full area {lara beach }was for the germans and russians he also stated this wasnt the real turkey which is much more freindlier and also said the place was a total rip off even for himself .We didnt have a bad holiday but we didnt have a 5 star holiday at this hotel, needs alot of improvements and needless to say we wont be back ,in fact its our first time in turkey and going by this hotel it will be our last !"

"One week is really not enough in this hotel, it was definatly the nicest hotel i've stayed in, the rooms were a good size with a decent balcony and the maid service was excellent they cleaned every day and stocked the free mini bar daily...The whole hotel was immaculate there wasnt one piece of litter anywhere, the pool was also very clean and was cleaned very regular. We got free beach towels which you can change daily which saved taking our own. The restaurants were really good with a good range of food for all tastes and with the choice of a few different restaurants you always had something different and for all tastes. the waiters were good no-one ever had a dirty plate infront of them tables were cleared immediately when you finish eating and drinks topped up throughout your meal... the entertainment team were excellent there was something everyone would enjoy, from pool dances to shooting and volleyball to the entertainment shows at night, which were on each night and always something different-comedy and dancing they were brilliant and made the evenings more enjoyable. The bars were nice, clean and quick service although we did not drink alot because the heat through the day was scorching it tired us for the night, overall it was a lively, friendly and lovely hotel i would definately go back and will recommend this to anyone whether it be familys (there is a mini club for children which looked a lot of fun) or for couples like us, just to chill out but enjoy a bit of livelyness aswell, or just a girlie hol-there is massages, saunas jacuzzi etc... plenty for everyone and a definate 5 star hotel.loved it!!!!!!!!!!!"

"My family and i have just returned from a fantastic two week all inclusive holiday in the " Sherwood Breezes " hotel on Lara beach in Antalya. From the moment we got off the plane everything was effortless , the airport was ultra efficient and the rep met us and put us straight on a luxury coach for the 20 min transfer. On arrival at the hotel the bellboy immediatley got our cases from the side of the coach and carried them inside and stood by them until we had checked in at reception and was allocated our room numbers. The room was spotless , the complimentary mini bar was well stocked with mineral water , fizzy drinks and lager. The air conditioning in the room was nice and cold as well. I was a bit apprehensive on the first morning going down to breakfast as i didn't know what to expect but as soon as we walked in i knew there was going to be no problems in the food department. The children came back laden with cereals they were used to , egg & bacon , pancakes , croissants etc , etc. I have never experienced such efficient waiting staff as i did here , no sooner had you laid your cutlery on the plate to finish , the plate was gone! As soon as you sat down the waiters were at your table getting your drinks order off of you. There was food venders round the complex all afternoon with hot-dogs , spicy wraps , fresh donuts , ice cream , coffee and cake all part of the all inclusive deal. We visited the turkish and italian a la carte restaurants and found them to be excellent. The food was 5 star and so was the whole holiday. The only slightly negative remark i can find to make was that i didn't think very much of the evening shows in the amphitheartre. We don't often visit the same place twice but we can see no reason not to book it up again for next year!!!"

"Hi everyone.
Just got back from another visit to sherwood breezes, and again cant rearly falt it. still very clean and i mean clean. food was better then the last visit. plenty of choises for everyone. staff all good. free minibar stocked everyday and rooms clean everyday. the only thing is that the rooms are abit dated and could do with a refurb, but your only sleeping in them. There are some shops in the hotel that are great and some that are not . Message to all you kids keep away from the sweet shop is it is very expencive, dont buy from there. dont buy your toys from the shops ( poor Qualitly as is everywhere). inflatible lilos, get them from shop across the road.. another thing to watch out for is the posh shopping mall opp the hotel, nice shops selling ugg boots and fancy name brands... They are all fake but look Genuine.. look at everything as fake because it is... anyway enough about the shops.. evening enterainment is brilliant you wont go wrong fith this place for a holiday"
