Brilliant But Basic
"Hey everybody, Got back from the Parador apartments yesterday and thought i would write a review whilst its fresh in my mind. Alot of you will see reviews saying that the apartments are terrible and smell of sewage, what a load of rubbish the only weird smell is the water coming out of the taps but thats expected as the water is very high in minerals thats all. Me and my girlfriend loved it there. Alanya as a place is flipping fantastic its the hottest place in turkey every year, people very friendly and boat trips is a must do trip! Be sure to visit caspers resturaunt on the main high street its lovely food and brilliant staff. Apartments are basic but very clean and towels get changed everyday! Apartments 9/10 Alanya 10/10. "

First Time In Turkey - Parador - Great Choice
"Ok - the room furniture could do with an update, but I believe they are working on it, as I was told there have been major changes in the last two years. On the plus side the air conditioning is free and worked better than the five star hotel on the optional last day. The breakfast - lots of choice but no full English, well you are in Turkey! The evening meal - I can say the salad bar, which is really an understatement, is five star, nothing like English salad. There is one hot meal usually with chicken. The rooms are cleaned and towels changed every day, we gave the cleaner a break a couple of times. The staff are friendly and interested if you talk to them. The beach is across the road and the hotel has a designated area. The hotel has two lifts which worked all the time we were there. There are shops and a supermarket opposite the main entrance, the supermarket is cheap. Agents along the sea front will try and get you to pay exhorbitant prices for excursions, we went on the white water rafting for 15 euros each, some agents were trying to charge 70 euros for two. Also had a Turkish bath (10 euros) which is certainly an experience. Turkey is not what I expected, much better than the Spanish islands or mainland Spain. Activities close by include jet skis, parasailing, water skiing and scuba diving, to name but a few. There are very regular buses (at least every 15 minutes) which will take you into town or Cleopatra beach. You can also hire a scooter for 15 euros per day, we took our own helmets but they will supply them free. The hotel had one night of entertainment which included a leather fashion show, a bellydancer and a folk dance troup. The Lider Paca Restaurant close by is authentic Turkish food, it doesn't serve alcohol and didn't have any tourists when we eat there."

puttıng the record straıght !!
"We arrıved at the Parador Appts early hours of the mornıng and lıkewıse to a lot of other people were very apprehensıve at what sort of place we would fınd exactly after readıng varıous damnıng revıews on varıous sıtes. To be absolutely honest we really dıdnt care ınıtıally due to the tıme we arrıved but after we had all had a couple of hours sleep ( there were 8 of us ın total)we obvıously were ıntrıgued to fınd out what the place was lıke. Now for the good bıt..... ıt ıs wıthout doubt every bıt a 3 star rated accomodatıon !! the rooms were clean and tıdy and are regularly cleaned by the maıds. We read on some revıews that valuables were goıng mıssıng and that the cleanlıness of varıous thıngs lead to certaın people ratıng ıt as 'just abouıt 1 star !!' what utter RUBBISH ! To use a phrase 'you get what you pay for ' doesnt do the Parador Appts any justıce. The place ıs well kept, clean, tıdy and the best bıt for all of us ın our party, was the frıendlıness of the staff especıally ENGIN and UNOS who work at the poolsıde.They cannot do enough for you and were as honest as the day ıs long !!. Its always worth rememberıng that you get back from people what you are prepared to put ın... they are nothıng short of GENTLEMEN. Absolute Truth !! Thıs ıs one of many places we have all stayed wıthın a sımılar budget range and ıt ıs wıthout doubt the best. We also had heard some very poor comments prıor to our arrıval from frıends who saıd they knew the place... they have obvıously made some serıous mıstakes. FANTASTIC PEOPLE AND FANTASTIC TIME !!!! TRY IT !!"

"My sister and I booked our 11 night stay at the Parador and then read some awful reviews on the net. We were a little apprehensive, but when we arrived at the hotel, we were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel is clean and spacious and has recently undergone refurbishment in all public areas. The rooms are spacious and a little outdated (which are due to be updated 2011) and cleaned daily, bed changed daily and clean towels daily. I have stayed in many hotels and this was one of the cleanest rooms! All rooms also have aircon - Phew! The food is basic, but they are trying to cater for all tastes. I say basic, but they are still VERY enjoyable with a soup course, great salad choice, hot main choice and choice of turkish desserts (pastries, cakes and mousse). There is an abundance of fresh bread too which was lovely! We certainly did NOT go hungry. If you are HB, I recommend eating in the bar lobby, beach bar or pool bar. Try the Osmanish Kebab - Delicious! The pool is very small and not much room for many sun worshippers, but the beach is literally just across the road! The beach bar staff are very friendly and willing to keep you topped up with cold drinks etc and serve you dinner. The beach is also patrolled all day by security. Very reassuring when you want to leave your bag by the sunbed for a refreshing dip in the beautifully clear and cool sea. Turkish men along the main street, can be very tiring as they try to get you into their shop to buy their goods. We learned to ignore them after a few trips, otherwise they can be VERY persistant! My sister and I go away to relax, sunbath and read books. We are not interested in night life etc., However, we spoke to many people that enjoyed the night life in Antalya. We didnt experience any noise issues at the hotel at night and only once heard the locals called to prayer. All in all I would definately choose this hotel again without doubt. The staf were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. "

The hotel Parador is a well positioned no frills hotel
"My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the hotel Parador. Hope this helps you. Position: Excelent position on sea front with lovely beach across the road. The hebour, nightlife etc are a 30 minute walk up excellent promenade or you can pay 1 lira for a bus. There is an excellent view of castle and bay from many rooms. The hotel: Is quite straightforward and basic. Rooms are fine with free Air Con and turkish TV (BBC news 24). Showers and toilet are very basic as they are in many places in the region. Cleaining was good and mostly dependable. The food is Turkish buffet style with many salads and limited hot course. The pool is very small and towels seem to be out there before 7am. We used the beach. Drinks are cheaper from shop and little bar next door. We thought alcoholic drinks were expensive in the resort but we don't drink out in the UK these days. 4lira for a beer 10 lira for a short - water is cheap. Plenty of seating to eat. Reception and waiters can be a bit moody, possibly because their english is weak. The hotel caters for a number of nationalities, British are a minority group. The beach: is lovely, 2 sunbeds and parasol cost 9 lira a day. The water dips quickly so little children need to be supervised constantly. Adults go out of their depth 20 feet into the sea. The sea was calem when we were there. Beach bar is expensive so get drinks from shop on promenade opposite hotel. Out and about: plenty of places to explore on foot as Alanya is a huge resort. Soething for everyone 24hrs a day. Bars and shops are open through the night. We failed to see much of the resort. But wegen you have haggled for one pair of jeans there is no need to go to the hundreds of shoops selling the same. A visit to the castle is a must for its panoramis view. There are many trips you can book. Beware what is included in the price as we heard tales of extra costs once on the trip. We did a 2 day trip to Cappadocia which was stunning as was our trip to Pummakale. Both at great prices with a local operator. The downside was the 4am start. We were scammed in the hotel receptio by an opportunist - we were waiting to be collected for a boat trip, a guy came to reception and asked who was waiting for a boat trip, we responded he asket to see our ticket and asked for the balance. He then ran off with 35 lira and he was 50m down the rod before the penny dropped with me. All in all we really enjoyed our holiday. Boy is July and August hot though at 42 degrees many days. Good place for couples and less rowdy singles."

My daughter paid for this holiday for me...
"My daughter paid for this holiday for me. We came to Alanya last year and stayed for two weeks at the Parador Apartments and had an amazing time. This year we thought we would give the hotel a try. O my god the view from our room was amazing. Right across from the beach. The hotel was very clean. The food was good and there was a really good selection of cooked and cold food, but we opted just to have the different bread that was on offer every morning. (not very adventurous lol.) The hotel reception staff were ok but did tend to get a little moody sometimes. The pool and outdoor bar staff were very nice and friendly. There were not many English tourists there when we went and found it quite hard to get to know the Germans and polish people. Maybe because of the language barrier. But we still had a fab time. The people of Alanya are fabulous. Take a trip to Big Bens. What a fab place to be. The food is great and the staff are so warm and wonderful. They remembered us from last year and made a great fuss of us which was very nice. We met some great new friends in there. We also went down to the harbour which is amazing and called in to Elci Restaurant and they remembered us too. The staff there are fantastic. Mehmet and his staff make you so welcome. We just love those people. We went to Cleopatra beach about 4 times during our weeks stay. O my god the beach and scenery take your breath away. It truely is Heaven on Earth. I know that I will return there next year but it will definitely be for two weeks. A week in paradise is just not long enough. So see you next year guys love ya all love Karen and Ashley Forbes xxx"

"We had a splendid time at the Parador Hotel. Rooms - okay fairly basic - but spotlessly clean and perfectly comfortable. We had a smashing view from our fifth floor balcony, really breathtaking. I don't know why people have been complaining about the breakfasts, we found them to be fresh and tasty with a variety of delicious breads. The staff are friendly and full of fun, the pool area is kept tidy and clean and the receptionists were helpful. There is a designated area of the beach for the Parador just over the road. The sea is warm and due to the high salt content it's quite difficult to swim, but it is lovely to float in, or to just bob about taking in the sun and the beautiful scenery. If you walk in to the main town area you can't help but be drawn into friendly conversations with the restaurant and shop owners on the way - they all want your custom! We would recommend Memos, where we had some cracking steak which was flamed in cognac at our table, also the Kordon restaurant down by the harbour for an extra special meal. Do make the most of the local bus service - it is just one lira for any journey (50p) and very easy to use. We took a CityBus up to the Castle and it was brilliant value for money - we'd never have made it on foot up those steep inclines in the scorching hot weather! The views from the top are amazing - don't forget your camera! We found that in general prices were very similar to those here, so no real bargains for meals or drinks, but you might be able to barter your way to a reasonably priced handbag or Turkish souvenir. If you're thinking of sampling some Turkish Delight don't bother with the sort which is already boxed up and for sale in every shop - it isn't a patch on the fresh stuff, which is delicious - look for it in specialised shops in the main town. Our overall opinion of the hotel, resort and local people was very favourable. We will definately consider going there again in the not-too-distant future. "

Just come back from the parador apartmen...
"Just come back from the parador apartments, first impression was what have i brought my family to, looked dirty from outside, not to bad though on the inside.rooms very basic, no views, as it is situated in side street. hotel owner not very pleasant, staff ok. lots of people having minor accidents, mainly falls after coming out of pool and going through reception dripping wet, others had ear infections from pool. Alanya it self was great, weather very hot and humid this time of year, sea very warm. best place for meals was big bens five mins(in taxi) from apartments , if you ring them they send you a taxi and they foot the bill, which is only 5 lira about 2 pound 50. went to dim tae river, tables and chairs in river so you can sit with your feet in it, also water slide for kids, paid 70 lira for that, castle must be visited the views from there are spectacular,go into harbour ,catch taxi up cost 20 lira. if the weather was a little cooler, we would have done more sight seeing, far to hot for walking. still we had a good time."

"we stayed in the parador appartments and although they were basic we could not complain about cleanliness. the staff were very friendly and accomodating and we found that nothing was to much trouble to them. it was our fisrt time in alanya and i would definately return to the same appartments again if we go back their. as for alanya it self i would highly recomend it. we found that ther was something for everyone what ever your taste. the only downside was that you did get pestered a lot to either dine in their restaurants or you would be pestered to look round their shops AND BUY. this did put a damper on the holiday somewhat as we got to the stage where we didnt even dare take a quick glance out of our eye corners without them thinking you were interestd in their wares. however please dont let this put you off as the city itself has much to offer, such as the views from the castle and some excellent markets. they say that haggling is expected in turkey and you should never pay the price they ask but unfortunately i found that the majority were unwilling to haggle with me and i ended up feeling embarssed with the whole situation. if any of you are thinking of visiting alanya please feel free to ask me any questions and if i can answer them for you i will be happy to do so."

Just come back from Alanya once again an...
"Just come back from Alanya once again and was yet again a brilliant holiday! First time at this hotel, to start off with staff come across abrubt but once you say hello and they get to know you, you will have lots of laughter and fun! and if there is anything you need they will get it for you! if you have children they will be well looked after as they love kids! and will spoil them rotten! Nurllah, Chef & Ali all great guys. On arrival there is one Reception guy who is not as nice as the others! take no notice of the silly man we arrived 4am and all he did was moan! in end i told him to get a life and be happy in turkish after that he soon changed his attitude! I think he knew i was gonna complain about his attitude. The hotel was very clean, rooms were basic but the maid kept them clean daily, but honestly are you really gonna spend most of your holiday in there! food was basic but if your hungry you will eat anything! The hotel is across a busy main road so please watch out when crossing to go to the beach wait for the traffic light man to go green and then also keep an eye on the traffic there can be some mad turkish drivers! N0 9 is parador hotel, You will see Ali and a few other lads and also chef but we didnt just stay here all the time , my clan and I Visited No 10 where musty and emrah will look after you or if you go to No11 Hakim and Captan will look after you there. No 11 was where i was the year before at Aytap hotel. This kept them all happy as they do tend to have a little strop when you dont go to see them lol You will have a great laugh with these lads on the beach in the day :0). If you want to ring home it is cheaper to buy a contour card to use on the phone boxes out side do watch though they try to rip u off in market 100 contour is about 10 lira quite cheap and lasts ages. They also say no to snacks or water at hotel rooms but sneak them in you be fine! Air con and tv controls are given on arrival and these are free. so dont be afraid you get stung a charge for them when you leave. Safe deposit box are available and it is advised to get one of these to keep all personal belongings passports etc. There are Domlus buses passing every 5-10 minutes it cost u 1 lira each kids go free so dont pay for them. and just get off when ever u want to. depending on the type of holiday you are after there is lots of things to do, go to the harbour for meals disco, go to robin hood, queen gardens lots more. and if you still want to club after 3am then you go to audotorium or summer gardens! till 7am! just be carefull though with the price of drinks if you aint been there before they try to rip u off! go on a boat trip big brother was a good day trip out about 30 lira that includes soft drinks and a meal and also dimchai is a lovely relaxing day. locally you can go to happy bar for food where erdagon, ramazan and the other young lads will waiter you till early hours! good food also and try the flash, soltan all fab food and cheap! just 5 minutes up the road please visit my friends hasan, galipo and eddie at caspers bar. again lovely food and lots of fun here. Once again though everybody has different opinions on this hotel. Im not a fussy person or posh but this is a basic and clean hotel and for the time you spend in your room i think the price of the holiday, you cant go wrong! and if the price is right next year this is where i will return to anybody who goes to alanya will have a great time! Enjoy overall ALANYA was once again brilliant time and fab people! "
