10 Traveller reviews from Holiday Watchdog
Seville in April
"Spent 5 nights in Seville. Definately worth a visit. Stayed at the Zenit Sevilla. Good location, clean hotel, staff friendly. If your thinking of visiting take a spanish dictionary, the first place we've visited in Spain where English is not widely spoken or understood, which is rather nice but can be difficult if your trying to order tapas! Shopping is great in Seville so take an empty suitcase. Everything affordable so don't worry if your on a budget because in general food and drink cheap compared with other cities. If we went again would be tempted to downgrade to a 2 or 3* hotel or hostel even though we prefer a little luxury all the places that we passed looked ok."

Good location, disappointing hotel
"Positive: On edge of Triana District with itâs typical restaurants (OâTapas Albahaca 300m-degustaria menu excellent valueâ6 dishes, 5 drinks, for 20Eu, and amble back to hotel) and tapas bars hidden away in the maze of small streets (the excellent old Siglo XVIII behind St Ana Church with English translation of menu). Breakfast at hotel is good (till 11am if you've had a late night) and so can set you up for a full dayâs sightseeing with no long meal breaks needed!
Negative: Rooms too hot, at night especially, as air conditioning is only put on in the summer â and 22 degrees C (March) was considered COLD. Beds poor, limited clothes drawers. No tea/coffee making facilities in room."

"This hotel is highly overrated. In particular - the front desk staff was not very friendly or helpful. The room we got was an internal room overlooking a shaft with other rooms. While it was cool outside, even with the window open, it was hot in the room. There was NO air circulation. Since it was March, the air conditioning was off.
The hotel is not in the center; it is about a 15-20 minute walk to the cathedral and alcazar. There are, however, many good tapas bars and restaurants nearby (Try Ponzio's). Room rates are reasonable but there are better hotels to choose from."

"The hotel is in an interesting area called "Triana" which (if you look carefully) has many Tapas bars and restaurants. It takes about 15 mins to walk to the main tourist attractions - La Giralda, The Real Alcazar etc. The walk is nice as it takes you across the bridge over the River Guadalquivir which is beautiful. The hotel is nice, clean and well appointed. However breakfast is very expensive compared to what you can find outside. All in all - we would stay there again."

Nice hotel but rather far from centre
"The hotel is located across the river and it takes a 15 min walk to get to the old centre. We took a junior suite which is spacious but the hotel is not of the joungest and there no way to hide that: decoration, wear, furniture ... Staff was very friendly, provided us with a map and directions to start exploring the old city. Breakfast was nice, lots of choise but eggs, bacon were nearly cold. Next time, I'd choose a more modern hotel preferably closer to the old centre."

Nice hotel, location could be better
"We stayed in Zenit for two nights in Dec last year. The staff were friendly and prompt, refused tips when offered. We were impressed. The rooms were nicely done up but we found the location a little further away from the attractions than we expected. There is however a convenient public bus service which stops close to the hotel that crosses the bridge to the attractions."

A nice place
"We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. We picked this hotel based on the reviews it received. It was a nice hotel that was clean with updated rooms. Even though we had a mishap with our reservations the staff was quickly to rectify the situation. We paid 100 euros a night that did not include breakfast. There were plenty of pandaria's or resturants (Tapas restaurants on every corner) in the area for reasonable prices. The hotel was approx a 10min walk over the bridge to the main area. Which has it's pro's and con's it was'nt so bad until you walked back after a long day of sight seening in 95 degree or so heat. But nothing a short stop in a local tapas for drinks and tapa or a short cab ride back would'nt fix. Yet, it was nice to walk over to the main area for a night stroll. Over all it was a nice place."

"Based on all the reviews, we picked this hotel. It was indeed clean, great price and location wasn't bad. A nice 5 minute walk across the bridge put us in the old part of town. Hotel staff was very helpful and was able to direct us to anywhere we wanted to go. Would definitely recommend it!"

"The Hotel Zenit was superb and in the "best part of Seville" according to our taxi driver. Our room was more like a suite and was very modern with wooden floors and was absolutely spotless. Only negative was that the room was too warm as the aircon was switched off. The staff were excellent and the recommendations listed in reviews on tripadvisor were spot-on. We'll definitely return."

"We stayed here for two nights. The room was a nice size and very clean. Great location as it is a 10 minute walk to the many of the attractions and restaurants. Staff was helpful although their English was not the best. Luckly, my husband has a basic knowledge of Spanish which helped. To all who travel in Spain, most of the staff in the hotels and resturants speak English but many of the taxi drivers and shop owners do not. The breakfast was wonderful with a good variety of food to choose from. My only complaint is that the room was very hot and they could not turn on the AC once the cool weather came so we roasted for two days. The only window opened up to an air shaft so hardly any breeze could come in. Other than that, I would recommend this hotel to anyone who stayed in Seville."
