Dirty pool, noisy neighbour, barking dogs
"We visited these apartments in June 2014. For those traveling in large groups (7+ people) you need to know that there is a chance that you will have to make a deposit of â¬50-â¬100 per person when you check in, which is refundable when you check out as long as there is no noise complaints, or any damage to the rooms, so just make sure you have that kind of cash to hand, as it is not clear on the websites about this. I enjoyed the holiday and the apartments were clean and well kept for the price we paid. The balcony was nice and big and the air conditioning was great. I have a few problems though. The condition that the swimming pool was in was very poor condition. It was constantly dirty, full of dead bugs and leaves and dirt, and no one was ever around to take care of it or clean it. The pool wasn't even a self cleaner. We were very keen on enjoying the pool but we couldn't due to how filthy it was. This was very disappointing. Another issue is that when we arrived we were the only people in the whole complex. Then a few days later people with children and elderly families arrived and were put in the rooms right next door which was very unfair to us because the walls were very thin so we had to be constantly quiet. We could have easily been placed on a higher floor away from the families. Another complaint is the surrounding areas, next door to the complex is a house which seemed bordered up, however there were around 4-5 dogs who barked all day and all night. They sounded in pain, maul nourished, and neglected which was very difficult to sit through. Beside our complex there was also a crèche/play school, which was very very noisy in the early mornings with kids running and screaming and the teachers shouting which is not something you want to hear when you're on holidays trying to relax. These problems really effected our stay and others need to know these before they book."

Good Value for Money
"Excellent location, shops, chemist, super market on door step. Beach and Portaventura Theme Park not that close, transport recommended for Theme Park, although buses available and run often. The beach is very good but a good walk, motorised and non-motorised sports available if required.
Apartment good size and well equiped, there was no cooker but there was a microwave however be prepared to clean the apartment! There is a washing machine in the apartment (when you find it) :) which was great!. Pool adequate size and not too busy however could be cleaner(this made no difference to the kids, they loved it).
We hired a car for the week and luckily always managed to find free parking nearby. White zone free parking, blue zone pay and display.
Would we go back..... yes"

"I was extremly suprised at how great the apartments our for the relativly cheap price. The air conditioning worked, we had a huge balcony (2nd floor), the rooms were tidy and clean. One downside was the fact there was no cooker ( but a microwave instead).
The nightclubs are about a 20 minute walk (snopeys and kiss etc) and i would recommend a visit to snoepys :, had some great nights there. shops etc were only a few minutes walk, plus shops near the apartments are much cheaper than those near the sea front :). The beach was fantastic, and had volleyball nets :)

"As Soon As We Arrived,Alister Gave Me+My Family A Warm Welcome.
He Told Us What The Best Restruants,Shops+Bars Too Go To.
The Room Was Spacious+Me + My Family Loved It.
The Balcony Was The Biggest Balcony Ive Ever Seen.
+ it Was Just Spotless.
The Beach Was Very Nice, But It Was A Bit Of A Long Walk.
It Is Quiet Of A Night, So You Can Get A Good Nights Sleep.
The Pool,Kids Would Love It,+They Will Probably Meet Some Friends.
The Only Problem About The Pool.
Is That There Is An Allyway Next Too The Pool.
Some Of The Regulars Look In.
Just Needs A Bit More Privacy.
The Bars + Restraunts Of A Night Were Quite A Walk Away.
I Reccomend The Robin Hood+The Titanic.
Overall This Holiday Was Amazing.
I Reccomend The Impieral Salou.
Thanks Too Alister.

"just got back from a weeks stay at these apartments & couldnt fault them. clean & tidy, with the biggest balcony i,ve ever seen. no maid service but there was a washing machine & a few cleaning products from the supermarket served us fine. set in a very quiet neighbourhood, which was perfect for getting a good nights sleep, but only a 10/15 minute walk to the bars & pubs. the tv in the room only had 1 english channel but we already knew this and with us travelling with a 15 year old in tow we took our xbox with a few games & dvds, which were a god send! one word of warning if there is a few of u sharing together, dont spend too long in the shower as the water runs cool quite quickly. overall a very enjoyable stay, highly recommended!"

"My wife and I along with our adult son and daughter arrived close on midnight to find a very helpful but non English speaking Spaniard on the reception desk who was able to tell us in his own way that we needed to move our hire car off the blue parking area further up the street from the apartments (chargeable after say 8am) and onto an area which had white lines (park free 24hrs a day) which was just before and opposite the apartments we were grateful for this as we didn't plan to get up early the first day and could of had several parking fines.
The apartment which was on the 2nd floor on the front of the building was spotless and the balcony area and view down onto the trees below was excellent.
The kitchen and bathroom were also spotless and the beds were comfortable for self catering accommodation.
The next morning we found that the person on reception, Alistair, was a Scotsman and he was for the rest of the holiday able to assist in any questions or requests.
Salou for those who have never been before can be recommended and after walking past other self catering apartments the Imperial is definitely in the top handfull in Salou.
All in all a very enjoyable holiday in excellent accommodation. 9 out of 10"

Just returned home today having spent 1...
"Just returned home today having spent 1 week at these apartments and would not return nor recommend these to anyone.
Overall the room was very dirty, the walls and floors were filthy throughout and the lights did not work in the bathroom (was sorted). There were used and discarded cigratte papers left within the bedroom wardrobe and what looked liked blood smeared on the balcony walls. All this resulted in us spending a considerable amount of time cleaning the place from top to bottom.
Our room was never cleaned, we had no towels on our arrival and half a toilet roll to last all week for 3 adults!. The patio table was broken, badly splintered and a danger to anyone, particularly young children. We did report this to the guy at reception, however nothing was done, although he did get us towels (which we had to wash first) and a toilet roll.
The pool area was small, looked horrible and dirty and you had to walk through overgrown bushes to get there.
The main stairway was also dirty and had the same "baby wipe" and a "toothpaste top" lying there for the entire week and was still there when we left.
Only seen maid service on 1 day whilst we were there, although they never came to our room. As a result the washing machine within the apartment was a god send, as is the large supermarket situated nearby where you can purchase all the relevant cleaning equipment at a reasonable price.
Buzzers are extremely loud and you can hear every buzzer on your floor and those directly above and below you.
Hot water would appear to be run on an immersion tank and provides very little by way of hot water.
On the plus side, the air conditioning is 1st class and the chap at the reception speaks very good english, is friendly however failed to address the main issues we asked of him (patio furniture and maid service).
The apartments themselves are spacious, well designed, reasonably modern and would be ideal for a family if they were cleaned and maintained. At present they are definitely NOT 4 star.
The apartments are reasonably well located although it is a bit of a walk away from the main bars and restaurants. However, the walk along the beach front to reach this area is fantastic.
Salou itself is a fantastic place for a holiday with plenty to do and would recommend port aventura theme park and the house of illusion show. Plenty of restaurants and pubs to choose from and excellent for shopping.
Overall had a great holiday and would definitely return to salou but not to these apartments."

Got back from the Imperial Apartments Sa...
"Got back from the Imperial Apartments Salou on Saturday 16th August 2008,
Had early evening flight out to Salou so it was dark when we arrived at the apartments
the night porter let us in and made us feel very welcome although couldn't speak English but we got by. Asked for 150 euro deposit which we didn't know about but you get this when you leave, so it's a good way to save some money for late presents to take home.
We had ground floor apartment which was great, had our own little garden & terrace where we spent a lot of time just sitting relaxing & sunbathing in the afternoons and evenings.
You can hire a kettle and toaster at the aparments as they are not included, although sometimes handy to bring your own to save money. The upside to this is that the apartments came with a fully functional washing machine which was a bonus.
Beds were quite comfy although not many pillows and some of the sheets did not fit the bed properly. The air con in the apartment was lovely as it kept the apartment cool for when we got back from a long day in the sun.
Pool was great not too many people as there are only about 24 apartments in all, Our 5 year old daughter loved it. The two 15 year old girls had a good time as well swimming & sun bathing.
If you want a good full English try Buddies a bar and restuarant only a 5 minute walk away, if you want a good pint try the Sahara just around the corner from the apartments this is popular for locals & travel reps.
Salou beach front is very busy but the kids loved it. The fountains on the prom are great at night as they are lit up and they even have one you can walk through.
The Ice cream factory on the sea front was a must as we visited nearly every night for our late night ice cream.
The water park in La Pineda was brilliant but make sure you put plenty of cream on! Port Adventura was great for the kids, we had a very long day as we went in the morning and stayed until the firework display at 12p.m. Only downside was that it took us a long time to get home from there as there were not many taxis & buses took ages to get going.
Overall we had a fantastic holiday and would recomend to all ages as its a great family resort as well as a great couple get away (night clubs for the young ones).
I rate this holiday 9 out 10 "

The Apartments were really nice and very...
"The Apartments were really nice and very spacious. There was a twin bedroom and a double bedroom. Both has mirrored sliding wardrobes, which was handy and there was a door to the balcony from the double bedroom. Both bedrooms were nice and cool at night. There was 6 adults altogether, and two of us slept in the living area, there was a camp bed and a sofa, they were comfortable enough to sleep in. There was a seperate wee kitchen area and this had everyhin ud need apart from a kettle and toaster but you can rent these from reception if you want. And the balcony is massive which is great for sittin out on and havin a drink or whatever. The bathroom is lovely and had a good shower and a bath. The air con is included at no extra cost, it is good once its been on a while.
The pool area is a bit small but the beach is lovely and only about 10 mins walk so I didnt really use the pool. There is no bar or restaurant in the apartments but there are vending machines at the pool area which are available until 8pm for drinks and snacks.
The only bad thing about the apartments is that because its more a residential area, its hard to find somewhere close to eat, with normal food and ppl who can speak english. The main part of the town is a brave walk away too, it takes up to 20 mins to get to the bars we were going to (e.g. Christy McGraths, Murphys, Guiness Tavern etc) But only about 10 mins to thw lower part of the town.
Also if your looking for a shop or supermarket, they all moslty close between 2 and 6 pm and dont stay open while late.
Overall the Apartments are lovely, prob the nicest ive ever stayed in, I would stay there again, but If I wasnt it would only be because of the location. Also most reviews mention this but just remember you have to pay a deposit on arrival of â¬150 which u will get back.
I forgot to say, we werent gettin the bus back to the Airport until 5pm and the normal check out time is 10 or 10.30. We asked the man at reception if we could keep the room on, luckily it wasnt booked up so we were able to keep it on until 5pm for only â¬20, this was great as we would have been left hanging around with our suitcases otherwise.

Found the apartments to be clean and spa...
"Found the apartments to be clean and spacious maid service was very poor washed my own towels and sheets they did manage to change the bed once but not the towels. the pool area needs to be cleaned up a bit, looked a bit shabby and was on the small side. the pool is small but we found that it was not always busy by the pool area sometimes the kids had it to them selves. the apartments are in a nice quite area got lots of sleep balcony area very big had fun sitting and watching the parking never seen anything like it if you hire a car be carefull and make sure you leave the handbrake off. Did not realy like salou found the tourist end very busy and brits pushing bits of paper at you telling you how you could get sausage & mash and watch the soaps or big brother allnight. in spain on holiday do not need this. portaventura was good but we went at night not as hot and a little less busy. we went to the aquapolis the kids enjoyed but be aware very expensive once you are in and had to wait a long time for some of the slides. lots of places to eat out recomend the ribs at EL TORO excellant. beach not far away cleanish and the light show at the spanish end of the beach at night was well worth seeing. if i was to go back i would stay in these appartments again."

Cannot fault these apartments. Perfect...
"Cannot fault these apartments. Perfect for a self catering holiday and an excellent base for beach and parks. The apartments were clean and spacious and the washing machine was a much used added bonus. As there were two parties we requested flats next too each other on the top floor, which we got. So plenty of room for the kids up on the terrace. Spacious balconies to relax in the evening when the youngest were in bed.
Point deducted as we didn't get a towel change, (but as we had the machine, not too much of a hassle). Also the pool isn't the biggest and the kids said it was dirty on the bottom. Also the deposit of 150⬠is a bit much. But it was returned 2 days before we left.
But would definately go back. "
