"Arrived just after midnight, given room on 1st floor. 1st impression was"I'M in Wentworth. To tired to complain, left it till morning. Went to reception to ask to change room as patio door wasn't locking and anyone could get into room via dinning room roof, was told we had one of better rooms with balcony. Lock was repaired within 5 minutes.
Breakfast was ok but other food was swimming in grease and not very nice.
Not a place to go if you want a quiet holiday full of screaming kids whose parents weren't controlling them at all. Felt sorry for cleaners having to clear their rubbish day and night because parents weren't making them put it in bins.
Plenty of entertainment, day and night but only stayed for it one night as kids were running wild.
Only good thing this hotel has got going for it is the adult only roof terrace with Jacuzzi and bar. Staff all very pleasant and helpful and try to keep everything clean at all times."

Awful - the worst hotel in Spain, perhaps Europe
"This is hands down the worst hotel I've ever had the misfortune to stay in. Dirty, dated, full of benefit scrounging louts, dreadful food, nowhere to sit, annoying Butlins on crack style entertainment, poor location, disease ridden snack bar, iPhone addicted lifeguards and staff full of apologies but you just know they're sticking two fingers up at you as soon as your back is turned. Truly a holiday from hell. Please don't even consider booking. We've stayed 3 star as a family in Salou on 4 previous occasions for the same price and we've also had a far, far better experience/ Try Hotel Belverdere or stay on-site at Port Aventura - a million times better. If you have already booked and can't get out of it - GOOD LUCK!"

hotel on good bus route
"Food is very basic and over cooked.no egg cups for boiled eggs.restraunt staff stand doing nothing and families clear own tables.very smokey atmosphere.smokers fick **** ash over balconies onto tables below which went into our drinks.very drunk people and bad language. And rules state no reserving sun beds, even outside tables were reserved whilst people went to restraunt.heard next room people passing wind in night, walls are that thin.best thing was winston on the terrace bar.had to hire a extension lead because the plug sockets were too high for our chargers.lift in poor working order which we were told it had been for several years."

Very Welcoming Hotel! Brillant 1st Holiday
"Thought I would leave a review we went in June 2010. Group of 4 our very 1st group holiday.. (17 to 19)
The staff were very welcoming always their to help and make sure our stay was going great. Entertainment was ace something for everyone.
We went out on a few night with the entertainment staff afterwards with other groups from the hotel. Party Bus every night takes you to 007.. Strip has a few clubs always got free shots..
Roof top (adult area) a is brilliant didn't go up as much as one of the group was 17 and any sign of the yellow band and he was sent away!!
Rooms on the small side but we weren't in them much. Al inclusive till 12pm..
Food was ok buffet still so always a range,Snack/pool bar open at reasonable times..
We had problem with out hotel key so had to be escorted by security guard or hotel manager to open our hotel room for couple of days they did get it fixes and were very apologetic. And we got free bottle of champagne and then won one in the night competitions lol
Overall very goods stay and would go back to this hotel.

Dreadful week stay for our joint Party booking
"Staff unhelpful on arrival, rooms small, unclean and basic. Air conditioning leaked and couldn't use. Pool small, overcrowded, sun beds very few and broken, reserve them before 6am or won't get one all day. Food basic, over cooked and fatty. Noisy , smoky atmosphere every evening of the entertainment, drunk, sick, noisy throughout the day and evening, flies everywhere and a continued smell of a sewer all day.
A plus the roof top relaxing with music and jacuzzi, adults only, no good if you have a family.
You will either love or hate it. We need another holiday after this one......"

GREAT BARGAIN WEEK AWAY
"If your looking for an a la carte menu and chilled cava then youd have to spend a few more pounds but then again thats how the rich stay rich, yea the hotel is pretty basic but ran like clock work, the rooms are small but efficent and not any smaller than any other hotel, free english tv, free iron, air con, bikes, kettle etc etc, just leave a deposit until item is returned, not a deposit plus a fee for usage like other hotels, meals have a wide choice of variety with different choices each night and more than plenty to choose from, and food was available all day long either from the restaurant itself at allocated times or any time until 10:30pm from snack bar, plenty of entertainment for kids + games, staff spoke very good english and were very helpfull, any trouble, i.e neighbours making loud noises, was dealt with immediatly, pools were kept clean, entertainment was different every night, even ran a free shuttle bus into town for when entertainment was finishing at hotel, also during the day into town, all in all you deffinetly get your moneys worth and then some!!!! "When we arrived at the hotel, midnight, we went straight to our room as the entertainment was finished. To get to our room we had to walk through the terrace where everyone was sitting, which wasn't the best. When we got to our room (which was supposed to be a double, and had two single beds which we had to push together) I noticed right away that the bed sheets were dirty, they obviously had not been washed and had blood on them. The floor was also dirty, with food and dirt all over. I phoned reception to complain that the room was dirty and asked to be moved. They told me they couldn't move me as it was too later at night but would send someone up to change our sheets, which they did. The next day having asked to be moved to another room, a double room, we went down to reception. The room we were shown was smaller and dirter than the previous one so we decided to stay put.
The entertainment at the hotel was fantastic and most of the staff tried to get everyone involved, except Julie who was rude to many people during our stay. The food was not the best, things often tasted as if they had been reheated over and over, and others didn't looked properly cooked at all, but there were little cafes nearby the hotel that we ate out at. The drink was good and there was a bit of a wait at the bar, but that was to be expected.
Never had a chance to use the loungers at the pool sides as people were down early in the morning reserving these with their towels but the rooftop bar and jucuzzi was lovely.
My main concern was that on our second last day we had gone to our room to get washed and dressed for dinner and maintanence men knocked at the door. I was just out of the shower and had to get changed before speaking to them. They did not speak any English and I couldn't understand what they wanted to do. I phoned down to reception who told me they would check and phone me back. The men seemed to get very cross and this and were shouting at each other in Spanish. Reception phoned back to say it was okay they were there to replace the glass in the patio door and would only be five minutes!! Half an hour later they had finished the job and left the room in a total mess.
The main highlight of the hotel was the entertainment. The bus provided to you during the day (as the hotel is a bit out of the centre and main amentities) to take you into town is great and the driver is friendly and helpful. There was also a bus into town at night after the entertainment finished which was a big plus as well.

If getting drunk to Hi-di-hi type entertainment, eating cold food and living with flies is your thing, you'll love it.
"What a dump. The first room stank of smoke, which was no mean feat when it is a non-smoking hotel. The sink was in the same the room as the beds and the bath was the length of two pieces of hand luggage.
The second room looked out onto a rooftop, which had a broken chair on it and was littered with paper drinks cups. Some broken planters with dying plants in them formed a barrier to the end of the rooftop and the one story drop. And it is just as well as on the second night some guests got onto the rooftop, just outside our window and started urinating against our bedroom wall. They then climbed back through an unlocked window back into the corridor. It will only be a matter of time before some drunken guest, and drinking is all there is to do there, falls off the roof.
The âsun terraceâ was manned by a barman for 10 minutes in every 30, so either get plenty of plastic glasses worth or make it last. A line of sun cream defined the maximum fill level of the Jacuzzis. But the worst issue were the flies. I can only image what we must have looked like constantly swinging papers, books and arms at various parts of our anatomy in a vain attempt to stop the flies crawling all over us. And you are only allowed to sunbath after 9am. Iâll explain the logic behind this later.
The bar stank of stagnant water, and yes mosquitoes bit guests. In fact I think they were the only things there that ate well.
The food was at best tepid but was always cold by the time we sat down an example being that one morning the hash browns were cold in the middle at 8am and we were the first people in the restaurant. One day we had sausages as an option for every meal. They may not have been the same sausages but they were all cooked to exactly the same colour. You can make up your own mind. The only talent the cooks (the term chefs is unfair to those who do care about basic food hygiene) had was to be able to re-use last nights food on the next dayâs lunch buffet by giving it another name and slapping some sauce on it. The daily entertainment in the restaurant was hide and search. It was our goal to find: a clean table, a teaspoon and a pepper pot.
The entertainment (not the same as entertaining) was so loud that we could participate in every âWorking Manâs Clubâ activity from our room, doing exceptionally well in every quiz. Definitely not designed by Mensa. The compares, as there were two, just droned on in celebration of their own voices trying in vain desperation to involve the audience in their desperately uninteresting lives and humour whilst playing on their computer randomly playing sound bites over the top of what each other were saying.
You are only allowed 2 drinks at a time from the bar where the glasses are slightly larger than test tubes. You wonât get any ice in your drinks until it has melted to size that will fit in the glass. This wonât be a problem if you didnât have to queue in a long line, often 15 people long, to get your allotted drinks, often half full.
This hotel is designed to maximise profit by cramming as many people into the hotel as possible. The goal is to get as drunk as possible on a night, the entertainment finishing at 12.30am and the unsupervised screaming kids running up and down the corridors slamming doors finishing about 3.30am and then get up and have a full English breakfast. The hotel doesn't allow to sunbath when the sun is out because they don't believe anyone will be awake enough until 9am. The goal then is to start drinking for the night so when you do eat anything youâre never quite sure if it the alcohol or the food that is making you throw up. And because you are so drunk the waiting doesnât seem too long at the bar and you donât object to all clapping with your hands above your head for the âstar attractionâ that is already 5minutes late on stage. One of the nightâs entertainments was Karaoke. This isnât the hotel providing entertainment it is the guests.
So if you want to spend your time getting drunk, leave your children to run riot and do whatever they like, run a real risk of contracting food poisoning, listen to dated, egotistical inept BTEC drama dropouts shouting into a microphone and sun bath only when the hotel allows you to. The Villa Marina Club is the place for you. Oh yeah, itâs nowhere near the marina or the beach.
A great place to film a Shameless holiday special where you wonât have to pay actors to be extras.

will not be going back
"Just returned home today from this hotel. Didn't really enjoy this holiday was no good for teenagers, would suit people with children under ten.Hotel shuttle bus to beach was only a nine seater ,we had twelve people in our party so was useless it was about fifteen minute walk, beach is lovely also theme park is brilliant. It was our second time to salou but this hotel was no were near as good as last one. After midnight it was off to bed because you had to leave the hotel terrace area you were not allowed just to sit out with your family and you were moved out by the night security staff .You are right in the middle of the residential area so any bars that are around shut early. We stayed in the apartments that were a three minute walk away they were ok ,beds were falling apart no cups cutlery etc in kitchen also no kettle. We hired kettle for a deposit off twenty euros and air con for fifty euro deposit which we got back when we were leaving had to just take cups etc out of the restaurant as reception staff told me to do wasn't really as clean as other places food was ok but was ready to come home after five days and have never felt like that before was thankful didn't book two weeks. Was nowhere near enough sunbeds for people and seating of a night was a pain.Only two toilets in hotel a pain in the evening not very clean and always getting blocked. This hotel needs updating needs to look at programme for teenagers."

"this hotel had its good points & its bad points.
good points: the pools are good. the food was good but need more variety !. the entertainment was good especially the hypnotist one night !
Bad points: i just need to say the sunloungers NEED TO BE REPLACED WITH NEW ONES AS THEY COLLAPSE and lots of them are broken and have cracks in them.
the BAR STAFF are very bad as the men are pervs and stare at you ! . the food at the snack bar need way more ariety and its the same sthings they put out each day . and they only open the restraunt at certain times which should be opened all day as people mabee going trips and need to eat late or early !
