"Hotel was not catering for english, was full of germans, dutch and spanish, food was terrible and dripping in oil, only decent thing to eat was boiled eggs.
None of staff could speak english and we spent more time trying to ask for what was needed. nothing was explained to us at all as to were shops were or any excursions were booked.
Guests were very rude if not able to speak there language and staff did not help.
Only good thing about hotel was the swimming pools, as long as you didnt use indoor as you had to pay extra which was not stated

"me and my boyfriend stayed in this holiday - we had read really bad reviews!! We loved this hotal and would stay again next year!! the food was plain and simple but with a hotel catering for 1,500 + guests a day with 3 meals to cool you can't expect a la carte dinners!! but there is always enough to get by! staff were friendly and tried their best at english! towels changed everyday and beds made everyday!! "i thought the hotel was horrible, me and my boy friend went as a relaxing holiday before our baby arrives in february i was wrong.

as mentioned the food was terrible who wants to eat pizza and chips every night if i wanted to do that id stay at home that would be a lot cheaper then spending hundreds just to go there to eat the same food i can at home.
the meat had not been cooked properly and was full of fat which put me off of eating any thing from there, i do not know what they had put in there spag bowl as it didnt look or smell like mince meat but only word i can use to describe it is dog food.

their entertainment was awful i wouldnt even call it entertainment how can it be when its all in spainish??? im all up for embracing the coulture when you go abroad but this was ridiculous as i had no problem with it untill the last couple of days when you have no idea whats being said but you can hear every one laughing it makes you feel like a real out sider.

the only good thing about the over all holiday was the short distance to the beach and the english pub we found which was round by the supermarket called the george and the dragon we ended up having breakfast there EVERY morning as the food at the hotel was disgusting and looked like a childs play set of plastic food.

if you think this hotel still sounds nice then go for it but i wish i had read the full reviews of every one i would have not choose to stay there.
people say dont judge a book by its cover but with this hotel i would!!!!!

"The worse hotel that I ever was. The food was descanting.

This hotel was without any dough the worse hotel I was, the food was descanting, the employs of the restaurant were all very disagreeable, specially de manager of the restaurant .+/- 20 minutes before finishing the hour started to take off the food of one of the rooms and in the others 2 rooms they stopped to put more food. Every thing in this hotel was bad except the playground for kids.

I can say that this hotel is a machine to make money, without any well-being of its guests.

Resuming: TERRIBLE.
They had been simply the worse vacations of always.

I apologies for my English but I’m Portuguese and I have some difficulties.

"I have just returned from a weeks holiday to the Jaime ! hotel and after reading the reviews i was really anxious. I needn't have been. Everything seemed great on arrival. The rooms were clean and very spacious, i have 3 children aged 2,5,and 6 and we are normally all in 1 room but here there was a separate room with it's own bathroom all connected to our room, fantastic. The food was great not cold always fresh and a really good selectionthere was always something for everyone,l it does get very busy though with everyone rushing around. The staff were polite at all times. the only down side was the pool area, at first it looked lovely loads of space loads of chairs 2 large pools but unfortuneately they were always really dirty. By the third day i wouldn't go in it as there was always something touching youplasters hair etc, First thing in the morning i swam past a hair ball the size of an orange, needless to say I felt very sick. I made a complaint and found out that I wasn't the first to complain but it didn't change. We then used to go across the road to the 4 star hotel to swim where it was lovely and clean and when you got out you didn't feel yopu had to shower off everyone else's scum. Anyway had a good time but wouldn't go back as we didn't like Salou either. Much prefer the greek way of life!!"

"Just got back from a weeks holiday at the Jaime 1 Hotel, after reading the reviews I was concerned about the quality of the hotel, however I found it an excellent hotel and would definitely return!!

The hotel is very clean and the rooms are cleaned every day. The rooms are a good size and are all air conditioned! The breakfast was basic but there was a wide choice for your evening meal and the food was lovely!! There are two large pools with plenty of sun loungers on the terrace.

The location is ideal as it is five minutes from the beach and all the main restaurants and bars.

There were very few British guests staying at the hotel, mostly Spanish guests at the hotel however this is typical of many of the hotels in Salou, the majority of the entertainment was also in Spanish but this was not an issue as we went out to the local bars at night.

I had a fantastic holiday and would definitely return to the Jaime 1 Hotel!!

"I have just returned from three nights at Jamie I hotel. After reading the reviews before i went i was quite worried . I found the hotel very good. The rooms are very clean and the cleaners come in every day. The staff were friendly . The only downside was the food. The breakfast was ok and there was always fresh rolls etc. But the dinner was not very nice. The food was cold so we only ate there one night. The location of the hotel is ideal as the beach and shops are very near. The pools are great. Yes the sunbeds are taken first thing in the morning but we still found room round the pool and there are plenty of chairs you can sit on. The entertainment is aimed at the spanish but it was ok to watch. The bar stays open till midnight . I would not hesitate to return to this hotel again. "

People moan staff speak little spanish, food has spanish dishes,an entertainment spanish/translated to other languages.YOU ARE IN SPAIN if you want everthing english then stay in britian. We love jaimie an we are a mixed family under 5,20+,40+ an 60+. give it a try."

"Just got back from a weeks holiday in salou, staying at the Jaime 1, after reading the previous reviews, i wasn't quite sure what to expect, bit i have to say it looks like the Jaime1 has certainly cleaned up their act.
We stayed in the picasso building half board. Rooms were spacious we had 3 single beds, balcony and great shower roomand bath. Room had heating and air con. TV with 1 english channel. Maid sevice daily with clean towels and bins emptied.
Ther is a huge dining area with meals on a buffet service. Food was very varied with a choice of chicken pasta, pork, pizza, fish and a great salad bar. I have to say i never had a bad meal the whole week i stayed here.
Pool area is great with plenty of loungers, although we prefer the beach. Bars and nightlife only a short walk 5-10mins, and beach about the same distance.
Overall the Jaime1 was excellent value for money.

Entertainment was great for the kids throught the day and the evening infact the children were sad when we had to leave Manuel and Chloe! Pool side was great lots of pool choice for all of us! The kids park was great and near! Ok the food was a bit boring after a week, and we could of done with a little more choice as I have dietry needs, but the kids were happy to try and experiment spanish food, but hey we're in Spain dont wants english food! Staff were polite but found some of the spanish guests very rude! Over all for the price and the location and small flight a good holiday that I will in time return too!!
