"Just got back from a week spent in Cye holiday centre. Had to pay 60euro on arrival, which i got back on the last day, also had to pay 42⬠for a cot, which we were not told about until we got there, this was non refundable. Reception staff a bit rude at times, and anytime you went near them they were always on facebook!!! Apartments were ok for 2 adults and 1 x 2 year old, any more and it would be crowded. After the 2nd night we asked to get moved because of late night parties and noise, we got moved no problem, then on our last night, there was lots of noise coming from nearby rooms, I called reception twice and the guy came up to sort it, but the noise continued, I was actually quite scared because of this shouting fighting and arguing that went on, I called reception again and asked for them to call the police which he did, police came and noise settled down after an hour or so. Good location to beach/shops etc... good place to eat is the Corra Linn down the street on the left if your heading towards the beach, nice staff in there too. All in all I thought Salou very expensive for the quality of food/drinks/service etc..... I would not return to Salou. Weather ok, had rain 4 times tho, this cant be helped. take the land train which you can get on outside Mcdonalds for â¬3 last about an hour and you get to see lovely sights, barcelona is a must too, was very impressed with this place. Next imte I'll go for 4*, hopefully there won'y be as much riff raff about!"

first family holiday
"Myself my husband and 2 kids went here in may this yr and loved it,the staff were always polite on reception and the maids they always said hello when they saw you.It was central for portaventura which is a must, the beach is in walking distance and the buses stop right outside of the main door to go to barcelona, terragona. When you get there you do have leave a £50 deposit but you get that back the day you leave. I cant fault the apartments they are clean the maids are around if you need them, my kids loved it the only thing that was disappointing was the weather wasnt too good the 2nd wk. I would recommend these apartments too anyone, and the bars and resturants are on the same road and there is on connected to the reception called the lazy wave. Are rep kayleigh was lovely and the night before we left we had good nite in the titanic bar with all the Thomas cook reps doing a kids night. If you are thinking of going do it. "

"booked last minute and ended up in the cye holiday centre and what a brilliant place it was. We knew we had to pay 60 euro security deposit as we had looked up some reviews. and we had i back no problems on the last day. the apartment was clean and very tidy. (toaster and kettle were easy to find in the kitchen cupboard). the pool was very cold (it is october after all) but you soon get used to it. and the general pool area was good. The thompsons rep onsite was friendly and helpful. we ate in a number of places all of which were very good. (if you go to the beach from the hotel cross the road and turn left and walk up to where the taxis are you can walk up past a number of lovely restaurants and bars. (la sal was brilliant and try the cocktails)and any number of the restaurants along there - one three, four doors up has a frankie and benny's type feel to it was also really nice. one place i wouldnt recommend however is the parrot pub in the same area. i ordered and paid for food and drink at the bar (just 2 burgers and chips) it took ages to come. when we left however the waitress stood at the entrance shouting at us accusing us of not paying for the food. not good considering we were on the other side of the street by this point) all in all the holiday was really nice and the cye holiday centre was brilliant. (i can understand the comments about noise as the walls were thin but nothing to get too upset about "

"We arrived on holiday on the 27th September and got our room but were shocked to find we had to pay £50 deposit when we already had paid the waver. When we got to the apartment we were very happy with the apartment but there were no kettle or toaster which we found out that we had to pay another 15 euros per week for rent which i felt was shocking as its ment to be self catering. we went in the pool it is very cold so we warned but its very clean and tidy like the apartment. the only problem we had while staying in the apartment was that the noise from other apartments goes on till 6:30am where you get know sleep also we also contacted one of the night staff about the noise upstairs and he went up there and told them we were not happy which i felt was out of order as it could have caused trouble. salou its self is exellent there plenty to do and visit and its all in walking distance. if your looking for a good meal i would recommend the chippy its very friendly and the food is exellent however there are a few places i would stay away from like the lazy wave which is in the cye apartments the food is cold and we ended up ill so we gave that a miss also the Robin hood we felt the food was not to standard and its very expensive for wot you get. also i would stay away from the old brown cow we were very unhappy with the waitress as she was very rude and very stuck up but the food was nice apart from that. but we had a good holiday and visited lots of places but i would never go to the cye again the beds are very hard and i did not get much sleep so if i went again i would give the cye a miss"

"we really thought that the cye holiday centre was truly awfull , the staff we're interested in anything that you had to say and the apartments were extreemly spartan . the 5th bed was right by the outside door and everytime our 3 year old turned over , everybody could hear it creeking. also the walls are so thin that you could hear everybody coming and going which a 5am is no joke. one good bit though, Fanando the entertainer was 1st class "

"Arrived back to Ireland yesterday from Salou. Cye was great. Clean and comfortable. We had a kettle and toaster. Toaster broke on 2nd day and was replaced within hours. Lifts worked perfectly. 24 hour reception. Entertainment was good for kids with disco, karaoke and bingo every night. There were even 2 shows laid on in the week we were at the CYE. 6o euro deposit for room which you get back on departure. 34 euro for safety deposit box but you get 10 back on departure and its up to you if you want it, you dont have to. Only thing bad is the air conditioning works but not very good at cooling the apartment. Would recomend to families with young kids."

"Arrived very late to the hotel and the staff were TREMENDOUS!! Rooms were very large and spacious with a lovely big kitchen which was great for my 3 kids!! Pool was spotless clean and a very keen life guard would not allow kids to get too rowdy (which is always a bonus)..lol Beds were made and clean towels left every day..need I go on !! We have our own place just down the road in El'Perello and have stayed in many different places in Salou centre and I can easily say this is one of the best !! Recommended!!!"

"Just returned from a two week holiday at the cye apartments salou, on the day that we arrived at one oclock we were told that we couldnt have our room until at least five oclock, when we did get our room we were pleasantly surprised as the room was big and the balcony was very big too.The room was clean but you didnt see the maids very often, they came four times during our stay but only changed the sheets once which to my horror we had to take them off the beds ourselves if you wanted them changed. We did get clean towels everytime they came, another bad thing was that you had to take out your own rubbish. When we got to the cye apartments i was very dissapointed that we had to hire a kettle on a self catering holiday. Also be aware that there is a bond of 60 Euro's for your room which you do get back providing you dont break or damage anything also a 54 euro deposit for a safe box of which you get 10 euro's back so you need plenty money on your first day.CYE apartments were central close to the beach which was very nice. All in all enjoyed my holiday but probably wouldnt go back to salou.
