"Arrived at the Cye Salou on a sunday afternoon and was checked in immediately by a very friendly receptionist. Apartment 608 was lovely, one bedroom with two single beds pushed together, plenty of hanging space in the wardrobe and shelves to put t-shirts etc on. The lounge/kitchen area was great, plenty of room, sofa pulls out to make a double bed, tv in a wall unit which holds all of the crockery, glasses, cutlery, tablecloth, napkins and tea towels. Kitchen had table with four chairs, sink and two hobs and all pots and pans(they provide you with a sealed pack which comprises..dish cloth, scourer and washing up liquid. There is an iron and ironing board in a cupboard in the lounge. Bathroom has sink, bath with shower and shower curtain and hairdryer (which was quite good compared to others I have tried)
You are provide with a mop and bucket and dustpan as the maid service is not daily, they change you bedding once a week and towels twice a week. You have to dispose of your own rubbish but there are bins provided on every floor.
On the ground floor next to reception there is an internet room with pool tables and dartboard. The swimming pool with sun loungers are all kept to a good standard of cleanliness. The bar downstairs is called the Crazy Wave, good karaoke every night (no noise disturbance in the apartments) beware of how much they are charging (the same two drinks cost between 6 and 10 euros).
The Cye Salou is on the Europa roundabout. Directly outside the hotel you can catch a bus to Barcelona (although we walked along to the port and caught the train for 12 euros 40 cents each and it was a lovely trip along the coast, then got the open top tourist bus for 21 euros each for a days pass). If you turn right out of the hotel, cross the road and turn right again you come to Lindas bar, lovely welcoming atmosphere with a general knowledge quiz most nights and excellent food at really good prices, we tried the full english breakfast and the rump steak, both excellent. Cross the same road and turn left across the road again you will come to Buddies & Co, again lovely service and fantastic food. All bars and restaurants are within a couple of minutes walk from the apartments, Fox and Hounds (try the steak pie), Old Brown Cow (cottage pie) and the Txoko Wok Chinese, eat as much as you want buffet, are all good. Our favourite bar was an Irish bar called Christys, a bit out of the way but excellent Irish music followed by music quiz hosted by Brian (really funny and entertaining).
Busses run every couple of minutes along the seafront (about 5 minutes walk from the apartments) to Cambrills and Tarragona.
We had a hire car and visited Montblanc and Montserrat in one day, Bonavista market and Tarragona in another day and finally Castillo Miravet (inland with with a lovely river running along it. Make sure if you have a car to travel across the pas de barca ( a raft which takes the car and passengers across the river for 3 euros).
Buy any cigarettes or alcohol in the resort as they are cheaper than at the airport.
There is a minimarket next door which sells the water cheaper than anywhere else, and just around the corner you will find the michaelangelo supermarket which sells everything you would need for a self catering holiday

cye salou apartments
"my family and i two adutlts a 16 year old and a 6 year old have just returned from salou staying at the cye apartments salou,it is on the plaza eurpoa, very central for everything,it is supposed to be a 2key apartment block but i would say it is 5 star, the apartment was fantastic absolutley gorgeous and very modern lots of marble and red sparkly granite in the bathroom,it was spotless throughout, lovely reception and pool area, we were on the 5th floor and we had a corner balcony with a sea view and a view of the streets the balcony must have been 23 feet each side and we had the sun all day the views from it were tremendous, the apartment had everything we needed hairdryer, iron and ironing board, the only minor thing was we had to hire a kettle and toaster which was a bit surprising since it was a self catering apartment,we got fresh towels and linen 3 times in the week we were there, the maids, reception staff etc were great very friendly and helpfull, the apartment was fully air conditioned, but remember to close the doors and windows or it wont work, the lazy wave at the bottom was great fun for entertainment, the pool was lovely and kept very clean this is a great family orientated place and central to everything, the best places to eat in our opinion was the old brown cow and the fox and hound both brittish pubs the meals were fantastic and they did not scrimp on anything, although i have to say the old brown cow does the best breakfast of the two but overall the food in both these places was excellent and great value, portaventura theme park was amazing, do get the golden cup it costs 12 euro but for that you get free refills all day unlimited soft drinks, heres a tip if you go ask for an apartment ending on 04 for a street corner balcony or 03 for a pool corner balcony you get so much more for your money,(we preferred the street corner as iy was such a great view and good to watch the world go by and for the sun all day the 03 apartments only get the sun in the morning/mid afternoon, i will definatley be back to the cye it was excellent and deserves a higher rating than it has,any questions feel free to email me.i will try to include some photos of the apartment and views.
reviewd by a very happy and satisfied holiday maker from glasgow."

"just back from a weeks self catering holiday in cye apartments salou. well where to start ,apartments are fine, good size the only thing was there was no kettle or toaster which i thought a bit strange as it is self catering. the apartments are a five minute walk to the beach which is really nice and clean, there is also a bus stop right outside with a guide there all day who will keep you right. you are pretty much centrally located for everything. portaventura is a 20 minute walk away but i didnt think it was that good definately not worth the 44 euros each that it cost. the lazywave pub is right under the apartments and can be quite noisy up until about half twelve.the apartments has its own pool with a life gaurd on duty from 9 till 9 but be warned he spends most of his time chatting up the young ladies and not watching the pool. all in all a good holiday was had all be it a lit bit noisey."

"The hotel was lovely very clean and modern. It had a dishwasher, microwave and a washing machine which was very handy.
It had satellite TV but it only had the news in English (the same things were repeated over and over again!).
The hotel was not far from a grocery shop and the beach.
The area was very quiet, though there is a train at the back of the hotel which seldom went by during the night.
There was no safety deposit box which you could buy.
The pool was not great, so we went to the Caribe Water Park in Port Aventura most days.
But the Hotel was lovely any way."

"When we first arrived at the hotel I was dissapointed to find that my room was not ready and I would have to pay a 60 euro depoist on the room.
However, when I was finally allowed in the room I was pleasently suprised. It was spacious and clean, and the balcony was huge, lovely kitchen area to.
This hotel is def a family one but there were a few groups of youth there to.
Fantastic location, near the beach, restaurants, clubs, bars, shops and theme park.
I had a lovely stay at the CYE and would def recommend it to families and groups of friends who do not want to be in the middle of all the hustle and bustle but still very close."

Cye Salou **Clean apartments**
"We thought the Cye Salou Apartments was good value for money we booked through alpha rooms, it was spotlessly clean as it was recently refurbished and centrally situated, but don't get confused with the Cye Salou Holiday Centre that's a different part. We flew with Ryanair from Stansted to Reus Airport which is only a 10-15 minute drive to the apartment. The beach was a 5-10 minutes walk away, the bars and restaurants were all around you. The Cye Salou apartments had a swimming pool, pool table, internet facilities with computer games (1 euro gives you 12 minutes). We were a family of 2 adults and 2 children and we slept comfortably. There was a bedroom with 2 single beds joined together and a sofa bed that sleeps 2 comfortably in the living room. I took my own washing up liquid and hairdryer but only to find they gave a little starter pack of a small washing up liquid and scrubber. They also had a hairdryer in the bathroom. Towels and beds were changed after 2 days. It had air-conditioning but make sure the windows and doors are closed or else it doesn't work! There are plenty of Supermarkets only 1 minute walk away. There is a bus stop right outside which you can take a coach to Portaventura Theme Park which is a 10-15 minutes ride away. The park entry costs â¬35 for adults and â¬22.50 euros for children, it might be cheaper to book your tickets online before you go so check that out. Don't miss the shows they have on there especially the one in China Town and Polynesian Dance! We also took a panaromic tour of Barcelona which picked us right outside the CYE Salou. Find out the pick-up times from reception best to go before 11.00am though. They bring you back around 8.15pm. The tour costs around â¬25 for adults and â¬22 euros for children. We enjoyed the tour as they look after you throughout the tour. It is about 1.1/2 hours to Barcelona by coach. The only thing we suffered from was insect bites we don't know when and where we got bitten but me and my children had quite a few inflamed bites! We have a feeling they were bed bugs! but not sure as everything was so clean! So take antiseptic cream with you just incase! However we will definitely go back."

The good . . . and the not so good!
"The Cye Salou Apartments (not to be confused with Cye Salou Holiday Centre) is right in the centre of Salou close to the Place de Europa. It's about a four minute walk to the beach, which is fantastic - showers and wc's provided, lovely shallow waters. Does get packed though. The apartments also have a bus stop outside which takes you direct to the likes of PortaAventura (a must visit). We came to Salou on an allocation on arrival package and were pleasantly suprised with the accommodation we were given against how much we'd paid for the trip. The Cye Salou Apartments have a pool, which is small, has no frills to it, but serves it's purpose. The apartments appear to have been updated with new kitchens and furniture throughout; we had a microwave, tv, great air conditioning; as well as the usual fridge, hob etc. We did though have to pay for the hire of a toaster and a kettle, about 24 Euros for the two. There was also a charge for the use of the safe (about another 18 Euros I think). Plus there was a £50 returnable deposit to pay - but we knew about that in advance. They also provided towels which we were'nt expecting and in the one week we were there had one change of towels, sheets etc provided. So no complaints there. The one downside to the place for us was the pretty tacky horrible bar that sits at the base of the block. The Karaoke sessions are on every night to past midnight - great if you like that kind of thing. But if your trying to get some sleep not much hope until the screeching hour is over. But then I guess that's what Salou is about - people letting their hair down (Brits mostly); getting drunk (Brits again); chilling out in the sun (Everyone). Plenty of reviews elsewhere about Salou itself so not going to elaborate here (but make sure you also visit nearby Cambrills - small port about five miles south of Salou, has great bars, restaurants and just over one Euro on the bus) If your not expecting too much from your accommodation then you won't be disappointed with these apartments."

"good place to stay, could walk to the beach and the theme park, which was the main reason for our stay. The staff were helpful and friendly and the accomadation was clean and well stocked, even providing toiletries, tea towels and washing up liquid.Next to the Lazy wave pub,not a problem but you would be better off staying on a higher floor to avoid any noise, all in all a good place to stay for what we paid."
