"The staff was not friendly or helpful at all. The room was quite old and we only had one plug to charge our electronics. The food was not good, almost cold when you took it off the buffet, very big buffet though.
It was a very child friendly hotel with animation until 12h midnight beneath our room.
Isolation in the hotel was very poor, noises from children, neighbors, animation were very clear inside the room.
The pool was very cold, the sea was pleasant warm.
Not a place if you want to go out at night because you have to walk more than an hour until you find the first decent 'club'.
If you are looking for a hotel where your kids can have the time of their lives and you only want to sit by the pool/beach, you should pick this hotel, at least if your digestion is alright.

"Just back from a lovely relaxing holiday in this hotel. Will be back there again. The location is ideal , right on sea front with the promenade running outside wall and beach next to prom. The intertainment was great and varied nightly and finished by 11.30pm which was ideal and catered for young and old. The staff were brillant and helpful and accommodated us very well as we had to move from another hotel and were helped greatly by the Staff in Travel Republic who organised the transfer for us as our initial booking was through them. The food was excellant and suited all tastes even champagne for Breakfast. Thanks again"

"The view was excellent, staff were exceptionally pleasing, especially the barmen..
There is a beach right at the back of the hotel & a bus stop which was very helpfull, as we had tickets to Puerta Ventura.
The indoor pool was very interesting, even more interesting when one of the barmen showed it us personally...
The food wasn't all that exciting for me, although I am a picky eater.
The waiters were friendly and helpful.
The hotel is also situated near to various pubs & a petrol station, and only a bus ride away from Salou and the famous club "Snoepys".
My friend & I thouroughly enjoyed our holiday & the accomodation, and will be returning at some point without a doubt.

"we were a family of four 2 adults and 2 children aged 18months and 5. we booked this hotel based on the advice of thomas cook travel agents and were extremly dissappointed. First of all after we booked we found that there was a railway line outside the hotel going by google earth but the travel agent said there wasnt. When we arrived at the hotel the inital view wasnt bad. It was clean and tidy,The reception was english speaking and you had to pay 2.50e a day for our safe. Our room however was a bit cramped but we had a large balcony which was good for the children. As we got settled we heard this large rumbling sound we looked out our door to discover a high speed train going down the track which was just opposite our hotel and best of all it blew its horn everytime it went by.
We also found that the entertainment was not suitable for any of our children as it was all in spanish which was really hard for our 5year old to understand.Even the evening entertainment was in spanish.
The food which was being served was ok for adults it was a bit of a mismash of every country you could imagine. The childrens menu was very disappointing we had to take our children to the nearest restaurant so they could have some food that they could eat.
Overall this was a really disappointing stay at this hotel even though we have travelled to salou for the past 5 years this stay has put us of going back.

"We had no idea what we had booked but needed a cheap fast get away, and what a gem we discovered, you can relax under an awning on the beach and snorkel around the rocks, or hire a scooter for the week in town which was a little expensive but how convenient, fuel cost was next nothing could park it anywhere and the sign posting was ok around the town. Plenty to do including the water park which had sealions you can swim with $45 compared to £200 in florida!. Fountains to play with in town or stay in the hotel and get free fairly good entertainment. Food was very exceptable, one of the few buffet style meals i,ve had and enjoyed. The staff were all very polite and helpful. Thank you maritim princess a very nice and competitivly priced surprise."

great position but
"great position and lovely pool area overlooking the sea front with free sun beds and parasols. /the down side was the food which was not what I would call varied and only luke warm most of the time especially as you had to queue behind those wanting salad before you could get any thing hot! The rooms were ok but found it quite hard getting in and out of bath because shower screen was a permanent fixture over half of the bath.
The evening entertainment was very poor and I felt embaressed at times watching it. The staff were all however very pleasant.
This hotel has I found out when I got there, been taken over by some consortium called Best, but the name certainly doesnt match the site. Spoke to people who had been coming here for many years and all said they wont be back so that says it all i think."

"The hotel is situated on a busy main road on the front but to the rear opens straight out onto the beach. Try to get a sea view room. Rooms clean. Pool good size plenty of sunbeds. Reception staff were helpful. Didnt see the airtours rep all week.
Food was ok if you like buffet style which we dont so we ate out a few nights walk out the hotel turn left there are plenty of restaurants and a big supermarket about 200mts away.
We spent most evenings in a pub called Pure Genius as they had entertainment and the food was excellent.
Make sure you go to port aventura we had a wonderful day out there. Better value to buy the 14day pass in advance in the UK its the same price as a 3day pass when you get here.

Can't Get Enough Of This Hotel
"Visited in August 2003 with grandchildren and June 2004 on our own. There was plenty for the kids and adults to do. The rooms and facilities were excellent as were the staff. The location is superb looking right onto the beach. Easy access to Cambrils town centre and Salou via public transport. (Bus stop right outside the hotel). We were particularly impressed by the seating organisation in the buffet/restaurant overseen by a very friendly restaurant manager who we got to know well. We have had no hesitation in booking again to go this year 2008 in June."

"Stayed for a week, room was lovely and clean ideal for just the 2 of us, paid extra for the safe - but well worth it at only 2.5euros a day.
Food was good although mainly fish/shellfish pork, beef, chicken also avail for dinner. Breakfast had plenty choices cereal, cooked, fruit. Only thing they need to sort is the coffee was horrible.
The pool was very cold but was cleaned early every day as was the whole poolside area, plenty sunbeds and umbrellas, pool showers and toilets. Poolside bar/snackbar was good very friendly helpful staff like the rest of the hotel staff - nothing was a problem to them.
Well situated between Cambrils and Salou, it was quiet but near everything if you wanted it. I am going to go back again and would have no problems recommending this hotel to anybody."

"Having read reviews on the Maritim Princess and the resort we were expecting a good holiday...we were not disappointed.
My husband and my two boys aged 10 & 8 had a fantastic time. The hotel was spotless with friendly lifeguard, waiters, and reception staff.
The girls in the kids club deserve a medal - they were fantastic. the children loved the pool and the easy access at the back of the hotel onto the beach.
We found a fantastic shop (turn right out of the front entrance) for the lads football strips. the shopkeeper helped them pick players names for their kits! The bus stop right outside the door was perfect for buses to Salou and port Aventura.
The meals in the restaurant were lovely with something for everyone every night. The kids loved the buffet service and the show chef cooking pasta and omelettes for breakfast.
Salou itself is worth a visit though it is very busy. We went on the Thomsons trip to Barcelona (Football & fountains) which was amazing and had something for the whole family.
We are already saving up for next year and can't wait to go back. "
