"We stayed here for a week in July 2007 as a family of 4. We had an excellent stay. Transfers were easy and fast. Check in was quick, which was great with 2 kids. Our room was clean and spacious and the beds were comfy. Our Balcony had a good view of the pool. The only problem was that the room had 2 double beds which meant that 2 kids had to share a bed! (not good news!) but most hotels have this problem.
The food at the hotel was excellent. Not over priced. A really relaxing stay. Very peacefull. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. It truly was a nice hotel."

Staff are fantastic
"We stayed in the Marbella Heights for a week at the beginning of October. It was our first holiday with our 3 month old son so we were a bit apprehensive as to how it would work out. The first night we stayed in a lovely room but with the travel cot we didnt have much space at all. The cot was provided by the hotel and was immaculate, i took my own cot linen just in case but didnt need to use it. The next day we moved to the suite and our holiday began from there. The suite is huge with a terrace and an enourmous bathroom. This was perfect for us as we spent quite a lot of time in the room because of the baby. We could eat and relax outside at night and we could watch tv without having it on mute as we did in the smaller room. The staff are what make this place really special as they cant do enough for you. We had lots of requests for them with which they helped us without question such as a washing up bowl and liquid to wash baby's bottles, and even doing some laundry of the baby's things, no extra charge. Also, my mum was staying nearby and she came to see us one afternoon and Bolly brought us tea and buiscuits without us even asking! Lupca was especially lovely with our son and we really miss her beautiful smile. The food is quite basic, especially as i dont eat meat so was limited to pizza, pasta and a delicious salad that they make. We knew this before we went though as it is stated on the website and it wasnt a problem as a few nights we bought food back with us to eat on the terrace and ordered wine from the hotel. The only downside was that we couldnt get all the stations on the satelite for the first few days and as we were staying in at night this was a bit of a pain. They do have a small selection of dvd's but they wernt very good ( in my opinion). We reported this and an engineer came and fixed the problem and also we were given a bottle of Cava to make up for any inconvenience. The breakfasts are fantastic and kept us full till late afternoon and it was lovely to eat in such a beautiful setting, looking out on to the sea and the mountains. We stayed by the pool one day on the very comfy sunbeds and Bolly brought us out some delicious drinks, again without us even asking. The pool wasnt heated so we couldnt take the baby swimming but the bath was so big in the suite that we took him swimming in there instead! We had a really nice holiday and i would definitely recommend it to others."

really a B&B
"We chose this hotel based on its extremely positive Trip Advisor ratings and reviews - a mistake. The building is brand new, the staff congenial and the outside patio area lovely. But our room was so small one had to shuffle sideways to get from the room entrance past the bed to the bathroom. There was nowhere comfortable to sit in the room. The advertised sea view was obscured by shutters. There was only one English TV channel (BBC News) that worked despite the many listed. There was no restaurant. The breakfast croissants were stale and the coffee uniformly cold and of indifferent quality. The only parking was on the street curb. The website travel directions could not be printed from the hotel website. Apart from the nearby Rio Real Golf Hotel restaurant (which is excellent), the taxi ride to a decent restaurant in the old town was between 15 and 20 euros one way."

Great Small Hotel
"The Hotel has only 5 rooms but it's immaculately kept. Not a bit of dirt anywhere. The rooms have everything you need except they are on the small side. The staff is very accommodating and even served us breakfast at 13:30. The only things missing was a fax machine and a US-European adaptor. All in all a very romantic and peaceful place to stay."

"Both I, and my new wife, both work as hotel executives for a number of years in key hotel companies around the world. The experience that we had at this property is an absolute role model for what we try to accomplish every day in our own establishments. The property itself exudes relaxation and pampering, but it is by far the staff that make this such an incredible stay.
Boli and Norbi are the 2 gentleman that run the property on a day to day basis. By the way in which they practicly codle each guest individually, you would think that they are the owners. These two gentleman are absolute gems. Even the housekeeper, who speaks limited english, made up for it by continuosly trying to speak with us as much as possible, an absolute sweatheart of a lady.
We checked in late one evening and Boli stayed extra late just to welcome us in. While he was showing us to our room I was completely shocked when he handed us his mobile telephone number at told us that no matter what time, or what the issue, that we should call him at home should we need anything, regardless if it had to do with the hotel, or we just needed some advise while in town.
After Marco, the owner of both this property as well as La Villa Marbella, called us to set up a time to just sit and talk, it was easy to see where the rest of the staff get their highly pollished and personal approach to dealing with people.
My only problem was that we stayed in 3 other hotels during our visit to Spain, and as this was our first hotel, it raised the bar to an unreachable level for all other properties.
That and the fact that this is not my hotel :)
Thanks for a fantastic expierence and keep it up!"

An oasis of calm!
"Fantastic small luxury hotel in a beautiful setting. Decor and general ambience wonderful. Staff very friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Especially enjoyed the Thai massages organised for us by Norbi. The treatment room and area are lovely. Jay, the masseuse really knows his stuff, he calls it yoga for lazy people. You'll stretch in ways you didn't even know you knew how!
A truly wonderful short break!"

The perfect place to relax!
"As La Villa Marbella (also from the same owner) won the price of "Best hidden gem", the Marbella Heights hotel really can win the price of "Best Luxury".
On arrival at the villa we were greated by the most friendly & charming Norbi (= Call him Sean Connery as he really looks and speaks like him :-) ). From the beginning you are stunned by this luxury asian-style villa in the most beautiful surrounding. We had a very relaxing welcome drink on the terrace, which gives you an amazing view over the mountains and the sea. Everywhere in the hotel you hear soft music playing (even in your room!) and you can smell a sweet perfume. The whole setup will certainly bring you in a relaxing mood during the whole period of your stay.
The rooms in this paradise hotel are of a very high standard. We had the 'Sayan' room which was beatiful decorated with furniture of a high quality. The bathroom was also very clean and gives you all the necessary equipments you need on your trip.
After a good night sleep we had our breakfast, again with stunning views of the surroundings. The breakfast itself has many variations you can choose yourself. A few examples: Fresh juice, Toast, Eggs, Bacon, Yoghurts, Breads, Muffins, ...! You should not rush for it as you can have it untill 12 o'clock.
We would also highly recommend having lunch or dinner in the hotel itself! The snacks that they offer are nicely served, and the price is very reasonable. Once we had dinner in the hotel, which included a variation of tapa's. All of this was perfectly preparated by Boli.
What to say about Boli?
Well, he is one of the most extraordinary people we have ever met. He is always smiling, and if you need something he will help you without any trouble (in fact, this counts for everyone in the hotel!)
I can keep on going about this place... I didn't even talked about the swimming pool, the free internet access, etc...!
Just take your bags, book a flight and experience it for yourself! I know you won't be dissapointed...
So many thanks to the best staff we ever met... I'm affraid that our next stays in other places won't have such a service like you all gave us!
We hope to be back soon and wish you all the best!

An Incredible Honeymoon
"We recently came back from a 10 night stay at The Marbella Heights for our honeymoon. My wife and I had an absolutely incredibly amazing stay. The hotel is fantastic: it's quiet, intimate, extremely clean, comfortable, and it truly felt like our home. The employees became our family and they treated us as if we were their own. We really can't thank Norby, Boli, Lupka, Larby, and Marcos enough for giving us the honeymoon of our dreams. We stayed in the second largest room, Khao Lak, which had it's own private terrace overlooking the sea. We had a chance to see the master suite, The Mandara, and it was as big as an apartment. As the first Canadians to stay at The Marbella Heights we are excited to be the hotels Canadian promotion team! We really hope to one day return."

New Paradise Found
"We were so lucky to have chosen that particular week to visit Marbella and, thanks to TripAdvisor and all the great people who write in reviews, we chose award-winning La Villa Marbella for our stay. But there was no room for us for the whole holiday. One of the reviews had mentioned a new property that Marcos was opening in April 07 so I cheekily asked if we could stay there for the rest of the time...and Marcos said yes!
WOW! What a place! It was like stepping onto a James Bond movie set.
Less than ten minutes' drive out of Marbella's old town and up on the hill, sits The Marbella Heights. The views from the rooftop terrace are absolutely stunning, as were the views from our private terrace, and from the terrace by the pool, and from the pool itself! The interior is amazing - there is beauty and elegance everywhere and a sense of space as soon as you walk in and step onto the beautiful marble floor. From the front door, one's gaze can travel all the way through the atrium, the reception area, past the elegant sitting area with the beautiful fireplace, and through the invitingly open doors. Follow that gaze and those doors lead onto a spacious terrace and a stunning 180º view of the hills, the sea and, on a clear day, apparently one can see Morocco and Gibraltar on the horizon.
The Marbella Heights has its own character, but Marcos and his lovely wife Rose have brought the same magic and elegance from La Villa Marbella and infused it into the decor. There is the same Asian theme - beautiful hand-made furniture, gorgeous silk hangings and cushions everywhere giving a feeling of glamour combined with comfort . Downstairs are the gym and massage rooms where one can experience the joys of Thai yoga massage as well as aromatherapy. There is the same warm welcome, the personal attention by Marcos and his handpicked team. Boli is a treasure of a man and his warmth and generosity of spirit made our stay very special. We met him at LVM and by the time he moved up to TMH with us, we were family. Joanna and Norberto also made us feel so welcome. The staff are a key part of the success story that The Marbella Heights is going to write.
TMH is luxurious in a gorgeously decadent way... A five-room, five-star jewel, a bit of an indulgence. Must be done!!!"

A Wonderful Home away from Home in the Heart of Southern Spain!!
"This was such an amazing experience! Before reserving our room in Marbella, we searched throught tripadvisor.com for the best rated hotel. We were surprised to see a small 16 room hotel at the top of the list. After reading only a few of the reviews, we started to get a clear sense of how special Marcos' hotel and staff are. We tried to
get reservations at La Villa Marbella, but it was all booked for the dates we wanted. Marcos suggested we try his brand new hotel and spa, The Marbella Heights. We were a bit worried, but that all disappeared the second we set foot inside The Marbella Heights. What a fantastic place! It is multi-million dollar villa set in the hills,
overlooking the valley and ocean. The staff there were more than anyone could ask for. Norberto and Bolivar were available anytime of day or night to assist. They went out of their way to make sure we were as comfortable as possible. From drinks by the pool, to a friendly conversation, they soon felt like family. My wife and I both took advantage of the spa to relax and take in some Thai massages, and that helped set the mood. The room we stayed in was a corner bedroom with overlooking views of the mountains and the ocean in the distance. The Heights is a 10 minute cab ride to the Old Town,
but the cabs only took a few minutes to get there after ordering them. We often didn't even have to take one, as Boli was always happy to give us a lift into town with his own car.
The Heights is brand new, and the rooms even had that "new" smell. There was satellite TV, but we never got a chance to watch, as were always either in town, or by the pool. Although there were 4 other rooms occupied by guests, Boli, Norbi and the rest of the staff made you feel as if the Heights was your own personal mansion in the hills. I give this hotel the highest recommendation, and urge everyone to stay here if you travel to Marbella. I say that with some
reluctance, as it may mean they are booked the next time I want to stay there!
Thanks to Bolivar, Norberto and Marcos or an absolutely wonderful experience!"

Better than excellent
"This small hotel is very special.
It sits in the Marbella hills with some of the rooms and a terrace overlooking the sea. There is a pool area that is so peaceful you will feel relaxed from the moment you arrive. If you want time to unwind in a little bit of heaven this is the place for you. You can have a massage, use the gym or just enjoy the view. There's also a golf course just around the corner.
But if you feel like leaving the peace and quiet it's only 3 km from the old town, where many bars and restaurant are located. We found the short taxi in and out of town to be no problem at all. And there are plenty of other areas nearby such as Puerto Banus and Estepona if you want to venture a little further.
There seems to have been no expense spared with the decoration and finish in The Marbell Heights. It is enough to say it simply outstanding.
But the real reason why this Hotel should be everyone's first choice is the staff. Marcos, the owner, has a small, but dedicated team, who look after you with the care and personal service that you will only find in a tiny number of hotels anywhere. The balance of being on hand whenever you need something without being intrusive is perfect. We felt welcome and at home for our entire stay - and did not want to leave.
It is genuinely a pleasure to have been guests at The Marbella Heights- we cannot praise it highly enough....and want to go back as soon as we can."
