Las chapas i would give no stars
"We went there about 3 years ago and it was dirty and disgusting. The Perspex aroud our balcony was never cleaned the whole week we were there. Food if you could call it that was disgusting and we ended up eating out every day at Liquid Fluid around the corner. The breakfast was horrendous and cornflakes smelt must even. Holes in all the tablecloths it made us feel sick. We got free bus every day to get away absolutely horrendous. did complain but got nowhere. do NOT GO."

not as bad as i thought after reading the reviews
"Not really being one for taking much notice of reviews as we have been happy in many hotels before which people have described as being bad which we have enjoyed. me and my girlfriend booked 2 weeks b and b including flights and baggage for £519 so we didn't expect the earth. the room was basic but clean. the cleaners came in ever day, cleaned and left clean towels etc. the breakfast was okay but there was always toast and cereal if the cooked option want to our satisfaction as in other countries they do have different ways of cooking to us. the pool was clean and the staff were friendly,a lot of the clientele are elderly Spanish which were quite rude at times, but we were out most of the time so we weren't too bothered,we would have no reservations in returning in the future."

it should not be a four star .
"We have just came back on Sunday. when we went to register there was ants crawling on the front desk. when we got to the out side of our room door.it smelt like someone had washed the place with dirty water.the staff were rude. Every time i asked a question they could not answer me they did not know what i was saying .they should learn to speak English.the breakfast was disgusting some of it was not cooked properly.they were cleaning the floor with a really dirty mop witch was sticking .nearly all the staff were on their mobile phones all the time even the life guard will never going to use that hotel again"

The worst hotel I have ever known!
"Just got back yesterday from what i can only describe as a complete holiday from hell! Payed almost £1000 for 2 of us for 5 nights all inclusive. Advertised as having a pool, pool bar etc. When we arrived, we found the manager at the reception desk rude and not very helpful. Hotel was dated and looked like a retirement home, we were unsure if the elderly asleep in reception were still breathing or not! The lift to our floor felt like it was going to collapse! Our room had black hairs in our beds, the drawers and the floors as well as pubic hair in our bath tub! There was a huge nest on our balcony full of birds and our view was a demolition site for a pool. No pool or pool bar. Workmen making alot of noise as well as the hotel being literally on a motorway. We were woken up every morning, including Sunday by the workmen from 7am til around 8pm. We had a look in the restaurant but refused to even try what they were served as 'food'. I wouldn't serve any of it to a stray animal! The hotel staff were all rude the entire stay. They only cater for elderly Spanish. The bar in the hotel is closed during the day and opens at night, but stops serving anyone all inclusive by 11pm yet still carried on serving the Spanish guests! The Spanish were rude, ignorant and treat all english guests very badly. We were offered a new room which was half the size of the original and still filthy facing the noise so refused it. Because we complained the manager thought he would be clever and cancel our transfer back to airport! Resulting in us almost missing our flight, which the manager stood laughing at us frantically trying to ring a taxi! Do not stay here! Your entire holiday will be ruined from start to finish! Only good thing is they have a free bus from the hotel that takes you into Maribelle to get away from it for a day. The nearest beach is about a 25 minute walk over the motorway bridge! Round the corner from the hotel is some lovely bars/restaurants, a shop, cash point etc. and even the staff around there told us the hotel is the worst in Maribelle!"

Las Chapas definitely not 4* hotel NO WAY
"I booked a 10night stay with my daugter who is 15. When we arrived there was no one there to show us to our room. The room was very basic. It was more like a 2.5 star hotel. It seems that the hotel catered more for spanish people. The staff were not too friendly. Breakfast was the same thing day after day. They could have done with some Fresh melon, pinneapple etc. The hotel is on a dual carrigeway, but walking distance to the beach and a few shops and near to the bus stop. Dinner was ridiculous thank goodness we did not go all inclusive. "

The ulitmate review for UK bookers - MUST READ
"Me and my girlfriend booked a week away here, below is a list of the good and bad pointers about the place. Let's start with the good, as this will not take long at all! GOOD > Towels and bedding changed daily. > Buses run frequently to Marbella town center, from outside the hotel. > There is a really nice English bar called NU FLUID next door to the hotel, serving good food and drink. BAD > This hotel is basically like a Spanish old peoples home/retreat. 95% of the people staying there are over 60, and they absolutely despise us English. They were rude and arrogant towards us all holiday. It's like the hotel auction off the odd spare rooms they have cheaply on sites like OnTheBeach, but the overwhelming majority is rude, elderly Spanish people. > We had 20 euros stolen from our bedroom by a cleaner. It took us 3 days to track down the manager of the hotel, and when we finally did, he didn't seem too bothered and refused to replace the money. The receptionist told us that the manager was on a 'cigarette break' and couldn't see us, which is an absolute joke! > The hotel is advertised as having WI-FI... This is only available in an old fashioned library in the hotel, and even then it is very temperamental (kept cutting out every minute). You cannot access the internet from your room. > The hotel is advertised as having safe access... It fails to tell you that you must pay per day to use it. > The food served by the hotel is absolutely DISGUSTING. We were half-board and the food was honestly inedible. We ended up having to withdraw a load more money whilst out there to pay for meals out. I wouldn't feed a dog the food that they serve up for breakfast/dinner. > The staff are useless, rude and speak very little English. They do not even show you to your rooms upon arrival! > The hotel bar(s) are only open until 10.30pm (so not to keep the elderly Spanish residents awake!) > The hotel bathrooms absolutely STINK of sewage. > The bathroom sink randomly makes a very loud gargling/snorting sound throughout the day/night, which as you can imagine is annoying when you're trying to sleep! > The sports facilities are extremely unkept and therefor very dangerous. They honestly don't look like they have been used this decade! We borrowed some tennis equipment... 3 split tennis balls that didn't even bounce and 2 battered rackets from the 80s was what we were given. > Our balcony wall had a pretty big gap in it, certainly big enough for a young child to slip through - very dangerous especially as we were 3 floors up! Also, balcony has no furniture on it. > The hotel is advertised as having air-con... This isn't the case at all - there is a very ropey and ineffective fan system in all rooms, which barely makes any difference at all. > The reception smells like an ashtray I HOPE THIS REVIEW HAS BEEN OF HELP TO YOU. BASICALLY DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU ARE REALLY DESPERATE, AND DEFINITELY, 10000% DO NOT EAT HERE."

Can't see a problem really
"Me and my partner recently stayed at this hotel. We stayed bed n breakfast and can say the food was reasonable. The staff were helpful but we made an effort with them and spoke as much spanish as we knew. The bar staff were lovely and even bought us a few drinks. We didn't have any problems with our room, it was cleaned daily and on one occasion we told the cleaners not to bother as it was tidy enough. We left our belongings in the room when we went out and can honestly say nothing was ever touched. The only bad thing we could really say is the loud music playing over the hotel in a morning. We spent most of our holiday out and about so the hotel was perfect for us, at the end of the day it's only for sleeping in and at the price you can't really argue. A few minutes walk from the hotel are 2 shopping complexes with bars and restaurants which are all well priced and we got to know some of the locals who were really friendly. The beach is a nice steady walk from the hotel about 10 minutes. All in all the hotel was good."

"we have just returned from this hotel never again it is not worthy of 4 stars.the food is awfull the same trash everyday,Breakfast consisted of rubber eggs every morning all congealed together in one large pan, warm milk,a free for all to get your toast, horrible experience. Evening meal was salads covered in oil, hamburgers, undescribable meat, thin chips, Mcdonalds do better ones by far. The puddings everynight were angel delight, or somekind of cake. Everything was in spanish so didnt know what it was anyway. We went in everynight had a couple of slices of melon and then went down the road to the local restaurants to eat, which proved to be a very expensive holiday. The entertainment was non existent unless you want to listen to someone singing in spanish all night. The pool area is by no means adequate for the size of the hotel. You cannot relax in the daytime around the pool anyway because of loud head banging spanish music. The hotel itself is a bit remote, the beach is too far away There is no-way we would return.too many pine trees you have to chase the sun otherwise you are in the shade all the time. "i booked this (so called) all inclusive holiday to this hotel and have recently returned NEVER AGAIN!!! the staff were down right rude all inclusive consisted of juice for kids, no ice cream, ice lollies or snacks! if the kids wanted pool side snack we had to pay for it, the resturant in the hotel the food was not eatable that is if we could have read what was there!! its was all written in spainish, the rolls were same rolls everyday for the week we were there as we tested this idea, salad was ok but most was covered in sauces which again you didnt know what it was! we ate out the hotel whole time we were there so much for all inclusive!! the evening entertainment started at 10.30pm at night??? which was mainly a spainish bloke singing in spanish?? my 2 year old daughter got row from staff for spilling her juice on table cloth at poolside bar, the tokens given to the children for winning games was an alcholic cocktail??? no exchange given!! the hotel rooms consisted of 4 Z beds for 4 people!! with paper thin mattresses this was the worse place i have every been!! my children were hungry the whole time as they could not eat the food and as for the coffee that wasnt even drinkable! all the sunbeds were blocked by HUGE big trees which HUGE acorn things which fell off if wind got up so take a crash helmet too!! MY WORSE NIGHTMARE and my children were so glad to go home!!"

Please take my advice and don't go there!!!
"Me and four others have just come back from a stay at this hotel we should have been staying till the wednesday but left on the monday as we felt so unsafe after having all of our stuff stolen! All of our valuables were in a locked saftey deposit box in our room which was also locked, we checked this just before we went to dinner. We went to dinner for 45 mins and on our return when a friend went to check her phone in the saftey deposit box found that all of our money and phones had been stolen. There was no sign of forced entry at all so therefore we could only conclude that it was the hotel staff who had robbed us as they were the only ones who knew we had a saftey deposit box and had acess to our room. When we went down to complain the staff were rude, laughed t us and were extremeley unhelpful. We then noticed that our friends hoodie was on the chair behind reception when it had been in our room before dinner. This made us certain that it was the staff who had done this. We called the police who did nothing helpful at all, so we decided to leave as many of our group were trumatised by the experience and we all had no money as we are all students who had saved for this holiday. To make matters worse they didnt give us our 20 euros back that we had paid for the saftey deposit box even though it was obvious it hadn't worked as we had all of our stuff stolen! Please listen to my advice and don't go there, we read the other reviews before we went and just thought we would be really safe(hense getting the saftey deposit box) but that didn't help. Our holiday was runied and we hadnt got to see all the places we wanted to visit such as marbella or gibralta. "

This hotel had absoloutly nothing to do....
"This hotel had absoloutly nothing to do. There was nothing near the hotel appart from a few small returants. The beach was about a mile and a half away (which is not what they told us) It takes about 10-20 minutes to get into Marbella by Taxi, and they did not supply us with Airport transfers which cost us 70⬠each way. Also the only thing in Marbella was expensive returants and small shops. I did not enjoy this holiday and unless you are wanting to go somewhere and sit by the pool your whole holiday and sleep for about 16 hours because there is nothing to do then this is not the place for you.
