The most uncomfortable hotel we have ever stayed in - 5* never.
"A new hotel in a very good location. Very comfortable beds in a very underfurnished bedroom which had no comfortable chairs. A very big TV which could only be viewed when flat out on the bed. A pool on the top floor with three (3) sun loungers with no mattress and two (2) chairs with no cushions. On Saturday, 25th guests were sitting on the floor around the pool - hardly elegant - or 5* ! Prospective guests who are unsteady on their feet should
be warned there are no 'walk-in' showers and should take their own 'grab handles'. We were eventually moved to another room which had a 'wet-room' but we still needed our 'grab handle'.
We had stayed for some years at the IBIS HOTEL which is almost opposite and watched the Posada being built behind an old Malagueno frontage and we were very enthusiastic
about staying there but I'm afraid that in future when we have to be in the centre of Malaga we will be back to the IBIS! Not that it is very comfortable but it's less than half the price! There is no doubt in our minds that the word 'MODERN' as applied to hotel furniture is synonymous with uncomfortable.

Absolutely great hotel!
"I do not understand so many negative comments on here. We had a great stay at this hotel! It is right in town, the room was spacious and wonderful. All was clean and the staff was absolutely friendly and tried everything to make the stay as great as possible. Any requests, they were done in no time - suggestions, handling things, questions - all answered!
We didnt book the breakfast and only had a small breakfast in the Wall Bar in the morning, which was enough for us and it was a huge breakfast for 8 Euro! We did even share it some mornings as it was enough for not the biggest hunger but snack.
I would totally recommand the hotel!"

"We had a triple room for my husband, myself and our teenaged son and I had been worried that it might be cramped - not so! Proper extra bed in a good sized room. The bathroom was absolutely fantastic with the biggest walk in shower I have ever seen! Service is faultless; 5* standard. We ate in the a la carte restaurant and the food and wine were excellent. The wine waitress knew what her job and recommended a wine we had not heard of before which we thoroughly enjoyed.
The roof top pool is pretty small and was fairly crowded when we tried to go for a swim. Two lengths and I got out! However nice to have a pool to cool off in the middle of Malaga.
Public rooms are immaculate, cool and impressive. The arab wall running under the glass floor in the hall and bar is amazing. Well done the architect!
A couple of small things; firstly the air conditioning in our room did not keep us quite cool enough - this could be because we like sleeping in a very cold room! Secondly, the breakfast although perfectly fine was not as `exciting` as one expects from a 5* hotel in Spain - can`t really put my finger on what was missing - but would rate it adequate rather than splendid.
All in all though a hotel which impresses on arrival and doesn`t disappoint. Give it a try!"

Trying hard but not getting there
"Vincci Posada del Patio tries to be a five star hotel but is definitely not. You cannot even iron your shirts anywhere in the hotel so if you are business traveller, it's not a good choice. (I had to pay 9 Euros per shirt to get it done before a business dinner). They have nice cleans rooms (better than AC Palacio) and a good breakfast but they should focus more on details. The location is very central but you have no view so I wouldn't stay there as a tourist either."

Modern hotel with a few start-up difficulties
"Me and my partner stayed at this hotel for 7 days in august. The welcome was very warm and friendly although the receptionists keep answering the phone while dealing with costumers - we got interrupted every time we had a question. The staff was friendly and helpful although we had expected better english after staying at a similar hotel in Barcelona last year.
We had expected a rooftop terrace when booking a superior room. While this was probably our own fault since there was no assurance on the hotel website, we got offered to switch to a room midway our stay to a room with a roof terrace the next day after asking. The receptionist that fixed this for us ended up forgetting and giving the room to other guests which was quite frustrating, but after complaining through e-mail to the manager we got offered an upgrade to a junior suite the last two days of our stay.
We tried a superior room on the first floor which was VERY spacy, tall ceiling, and extremely large bathroom with a bathtub with shower and a large shower area in the other end. We enjoyed the radio function on the TV with speakers in the bathroom. The bed was large and comfortable and we apreciated the small living room set with two soft chairs and a table. We didn't like the fancy glass wall bit that made it possible to look right into the bathroom when the other was on the toilet - do NOT travel with others than your loved ones - it's hard to get any privacy in the bathroom!
The junior suite on the 3rd floor had a bedroom comparable to a normal small hotel room, a small living room and a decent bathroom with 2 sinks, but with a large rooftop terrace which was very enjoyable.
The pool on the roof was in very high demand, it was crowded at all times and 3 tanning beds was too little, although hardly room for more. It was still nice going up there for a quick swim, but I would recommend the beach for tanning and relaxing.
The location of the hotel is fine- it's close to everything, but don't expect any good view from the rooms, we had the curtiains closed the entire stay, when we weren't outside on our terrace.
Staff was friendly but we had several issues like handles falling off the doors, clogged drains, bathtub that couldn't get emptied and other stuff that seemed like it was built in a rush and not checked through enough.
Overall it's a nice hotel and the first 5 star in Malaga - it will most likely improve after it's baby phase is over."

"first class service from reception and bar ..must mention Carlos (from Cadiz) and his brave attempt at english and Ana & Christina at reception with their upgrades!!
the location is ideal for exploring the local tapas bars and the pool is very refreshing in the late afternoon sun."

perfectly located, service with a smile.
"My mum and I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and it met our requirements in almost every area. We took a taxi straight from the airport, both ways, and it worked out at about 18 euros each way, the hotel informed us that this was the easiest way to travel.
The hotel is very new and so everything is bright, modern and open planned. Apart from being on the phone whilst checking us in, the lady on reception was very friendly and able to help us with any queries. The room and bathroom were very nicely decorated and a very good size. The downsides to the room were the bathroom taps couldnt produce cold water, and the temperature in the room wasnt easily maintained with the air conditioning.
The location of the hotel is great; it's about a 5 minute walk to the main shopping street with plenty of places to eat and drink in the surrounding side streets. All of the main places to see are also around this area, like the cathedral, museums and the castle. There is also a nice beach which is about 20minutes walk, which for a large part is under trees alongside a park, so it doesnt get too hot and this is the best place if you want to do sunbathing, as the swimming pool on the roof of the hotel is far too small, there are only 3 sun loungers, and there was quite a lot of demand to be up there, the swimming area is still nice enough though. You can also ask to get down to the wall that the hotel is built on top of, which is only open to people staying in the hotel at the moment.
Our flight home was at around 7pm, and so we didnt want to pay for another nights stay but just asked for a place to shower in the afternoon, and we were given a room to shower in, for free instead of paying to get an additional few hours in our room. Overall a very nice hotel with great service, but not recommended for those wanting to spend a lot of time in the hotel or pool."

Excellent facilities and great city centre location
"This hotel is perfect if you're looking for great facilities, clean rooms (we were told it had only been open for a month and the rooms did still have that 'new' smell to it) and close location to the main city centre which is pretty much on the hotel's doorstep. The bathrooms were very clean and modern with his and hers sinks, speakers from the t.v, phone (don't know why you would want to use either though) and glass screened off toilet area. For people travelling with colleagues, be warned, the bathroom door has a stencil glass screen on the side which is see-through (facing the shower!).
On the whole the staff were really helpful, they helped us weigh our suitcase, lent us a laptop for internet access and told us about buses, where to eat etc. The reason I put 'on the whole' is that the receptionist kept answering the phone a number of times whilst we were trying to have a conversation with her but I'm not sure that was her fault - I think she may have been told to answer phones quickly but it felt a bit rude esp when we were in the middle of speaking!. I saw her do it to other people though and they looked annoyed so I think they should change their approach to dealing with customers at the front desk.
The only downside was that after staying at another hotel which had a terrific view, this hotel didn't have a nice view at all - our small balcony (could we could only stand in) overlooked a busy carriageway with people walking by and opposite a large hotel Ibis. We kept our curtains shut most of the time. Also, it felt like the hotel was missing the charm that it could have otherwise offered but for the price, it was very good value for money. Probably best suited for business travellers."
