great comfort, value and location
"We always stay at the Hostal Marbella when in Fuengirola, it's a great little place away from the bustle and tourists of the sea front. It feels more local and yet a short walk from the beaches and nightlife. The staff are really friendly, 24hours, the rooms are clean. There are no luxuries, but it's a great place to put your head down after a long day, and for great value. the refurb has really helped the downstairs feel more comfortable too."

Hostal Marbella - The place to be when you need excellent value for a low price.
"Hostal Marbella is a (since March 2010) refurbished Swedish led Hostal situated near the central square of Fuengirola, just about 10 minutes from the main bus and train station and 300m from the beach. The room was cleaned every day, featured a small safe, Flatscreen TV and air conditioning.
Breakfast from 8am to 11am (bread, butter, coffee pad maschine, 2 types of tee, orange juice, cheese and salami, marmalade) can be included right from the start or paid for whenever you feel like it at a price of 2,90 per Person and meal. On arrival the room can be paid for in advance or just for a few days, whatever is best for you - we paid arount 26â¬/night. Staff (English, Swedish, Spanish speaking) is very nice and are available 24h a day. They told me that when booking via telefone it is possible to get a "special price" and save service charge of online-booking websites like hostalworld.com. "Special prices" are typical for Spain the next time we will probably ring up and arrange accomodation by ourselves.
Fuengirola as such is very touristic although 90% of the tourists in August were Spanish and the rest from the UK, France and Scandinavia. On the promenade near the harbour a wide variety of fast and low price food as well as clubs and bars can be found. If you want good food you have to search for a wile...it took us about 5 days out of 11.
The beach was quite clean and crowded only between 10am and 2pm and after the siesta around 5pm to 8pm with luckily only few beach vendors. Going into the see the beach sloaps down quite fast but swimming out a couple of meters is no problem. As there weren't many waves we didn't feel any currents, however as a couple of fishing boats were cleaning their decks near the coast sometimes water quality was not always optimum.
A MUST when you're in Andalusia is the Alhambra in Granada where visiting is best with a guided tour with one of the local tourist agencys (~52â¬) and the Mesquita in Cordoba where easiest is to take the AVE train from Malaga. Cheap travelling is best however with buses which take longer but where prices are quite low. A trip to Ronda cost us ca. around 20⬠return ticket."

Clean, familiar, silent, valuable, perfect located and air conditioned hostal.
"We could really recommend this small, and very friendly place. The Hostel is located just a few minutes from the beach. The rooms are simple but clean, with comfortable beds and well air conditioned. The staff is so nice and helpful. A big benefit is that they speak not only Spanish, but also English and Swedish. A very charming couple from Sweden is the owner.
In the small cosy lobby area, you can get breakfast and drinks. Also a nice roof terrace is available (when wheather permitting).
All in all. This is a place to return to, again and again.

Excellent value, friendly staff, central location.
"This is a lovely hostal in the centre of Fuengirola less than five minutes from the beach, the zoo, and nightclubs and bars. The staff are incrediably friendly and helpful and the rooms clean and tidy with tv's and ac. Despite the name this establishment is more of a bed and breakfast rather than a hostal. Worth a stay!"

Nice hostel with highly attentive staff in central location. Definitely recommend.
"Stayed in this hostel for four nights. Having previously tried the cheap & large hotel option (in Torremolinos - which I did not like at all) we decided for a smaller and more "honest" option. We were very happy with our stay. The hostel offers rooms of similar standard to that of a three star Spanish hotel. Rooms are not too large, but clean and with daily housekeeping. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and have both the time and the interest in making your stay a pleasant one. The hostel is located in one of the more authentic parts of Fuengirola. Less than 5 minutes walking to the beach. Less than 10 minutes walking from Fuengirola train station - 33 minutes from Malaga airport."

Nearby everything yet a quiet place with a lovely personnel.
"Centrally located with the shops a couple of blocks away and the beach around the corner. There are lots of nice bars and restaurants down the street but still the hostel manages to be a quiet place to sleep in a comfortable bed (Scandinavian soft as the mattresses are). The staff is very kind and helpfull with everything. I liked it so much that I extended my stay to total seven weeks."

An Oasis of Calm
"It's the Hostal Marbella on Calle Marbella which is a quiet pedestrian street which leads from the main square. The word "hostal" in Spanish does not mean the same as "hostel" in English and their are no bunk-beds, curfews or dormitories here!! It is spotlessly clean with friendly, efficient staff and has everything a traveller might want - 24 hour reception/FREE wifi/ breakfast room, A/C and TV.Although it's only 100 meters from the beach the prices are probably 50% less than a sea-view ....and it's much quieter!"

Nice and clean
"Nice and clean, in the center of the town and just 5 minutes walk to the fantastic beach of Fuengirola (its 8 km long!). There were also wierless internetconnection in the entire hotel, so I could use my laptop on the room.
Much for the money."
