** Excellent value for money **

Reviewed Wed 1st of June 2011

"My sister & I took our grandaughters aged 8 & 4 on holiday for 8 nights in May 2011. We were on a tight budget so foun & booked the Ronda iv & hoped for the best!! When we arrived we caught the train from Malaga Airport to Los Brioches staion which took about 35 mins & then had a ten minute walk to the apartment & this only cost just over 6 euro's instead of the £85 transfer fee we were quoted when we booked the holiday!
We had a brilliant week the apartment was clean & spacious as was the entire building. The self catering facilities in the room were very adequate for our needs. The towels were changed three times & the sheets twice but you only had to ask the staff & they would give you whatever you needed. If I had to find something to complain about it would be the double bed settee me & my sister slept on - it was NOT very comfortable!
The shop & restaurant at the bottom of the block are both very good value for money too & the spanish shopkeeper Paco was very friendly & very funny.
We were literally across the road from the beach where you could rent 2 sunbeds & a parasol for 8 euro's for the whole day. The guy who looks after the beds even keeps a black bag full of buckets & spades etc for the children to use so you dont have to buy them. The girls loved spending time in the hotel pool each day. There were plenty of sunbeds but not sure if that would be the case in high season & space around the was quiet limited. All in all we were very impressed with our room & the staff at the Ronda & wouldn't hesitate to stay their again."

"just had a week in Ronda 1V all I can say is if you get dumpped with a travel company and the give you a studio this is what you get ;
a room approx 9ft x 9ft,no bed just a fold down setee,a tiny sink with 2 gas rings all in with the 9ft.No chairs because there is no room for any.a small wooden table 1ft 6 ins x 2ft 6 ins and 2 little wooden stools like you had at school to sit on.no toasters, microvaves, ovens, irons and the 12 inch TV is 4ins from the ceilling(you have to pay for the remote didnt bother was glad to get out of the place. At night when you open the bed the stools and little table have to go on the balcony as there is no room and if it is raining you have to stack them up in the loo.By far the worst place I have ever stayed in .So if you book on the internet make sure you get a one bedroom appartment."

Perfect for what we needed :oD

Reviewed Thu 1st of October 2009

"Stayed at Ronda 4 at the end of August beginning of September 09. Got to the apartments about 9pm, receptionist very helpful. Wasn’t too sure what to expect with the room but was very pleased. We booked a superior 1 bed apartment which sleeps 3, and I’m so glad this is the one we went for. As they state on their website these rooms have been upgraded and have air con which we were very happy with. Good size lounge with table and chairs, sofa bed and TV. Kitchen area was adequate for our needs. Balcony area was fine and had a table and chairs set which overlooked the pool. Good size bathroom with bath and shower and large sink area.

There is a supermarket just round the corner which we went to straight away and stocked up on food and booze!! Hotel is opposite the beach and we got sunbeds (8 Euros for 2 beds and umbrella) right at the front, not sure if that’s because it was nearing the end of the season or just that they had plenty of space. Sea was lovely and we sunbathed there every day. You will get approached by “lookey lookey” men about every 20 mins or so but they don’t hassle you and will simply walk on if you just shake your head or don’t acknowledge them. It’s the same with the masseurs. Only went to the hotel pool once at the end of the day, only because we preferred the beach. It was lovely and clean and not too busy and was adequate in size. I think the pool was cleaned each morning. There is a pool side bar, but it never seemed open. There is a choice of bars nearby so that was not a problem. Hotel bar didn’t open until 7pm and we thought that maybe this was because they didn’t want to encourage day time drinking too much. Room was cleaned throughout the week with fresh towels and sheets every few days.

The hotel catered for many different types of people and groups – stag parties, birthday parties, families, and couples. We were a group of females in our 20s. After nights out and returning home in the early hours of the morning there was always a security guard on reception to let you in, and we were never told off for being too noisy as we “walked” to our room. The hotel is a little stroll into town. I would say about a good 20 minutes. We would walk half way stop for some dinner, and then walk to the main bars/clubs. We would end up getting taxis home which didn’t cost very much, and they are lined up just down from the main strip. The main area was not as big as I thought it would be, but we really enjoyed our time there. Great bar crawl and choice of clubs and it was always busy apart from right at the end which was probably due to the time we were there. I really liked the fact that it was not full of young teenagers, and was a great mix of ages and people. There were lots of stag parties and hen dos etc so the atmosphere was great and friendly and there was plenty of eye candy!

Just some things to bear in mind. You can only check in from 5pm so make sure you don’t arrive too early otherwise you may have to wait. You have to check out by 12pm. Our flight was not until later and we were able to leave our suitcases in the courtesy room. This room is used by everyone else leaving that day but we were able to shower when we got back from the beach and change, and were not disturbed. Cost of taxi from airport to hotel was quite expensive apparently. We got the train which was no hassle at all. Train station is a short walk from the airport through the car park. We got off at the Torreblanca stop, 2nd/3rd from end can’t remember now. From there just walked down a small hill towards the sea front. Turn right and it’s a short walk to find the hotel. We did get a taxi back to the train station when we left, which was only 6 Euros as we didn’t fancy the walk in the heat. The train cost about 2 Euros. One group of lads said they paid about 60 euro’s one way for a taxi from the airport, so it’s definitely worth it to save you a few pennies.

I would happily go back to Ronda 4 and Fuengirola. Some people we met said they had stayed in others Hotels before, and said Ronda 4 had been the best. It depends on what you are looking for when you go to Fuengirola. This hotel is not in the main area, and is a slight walk to the main strip, the beach is also quieter. However, when you walk up to the main area the beach looks very packed and busy, and some hotels were right opposite the bars blasting out their tunes so this place was great to be able to escape back to!

This is my 5th time in Fuengirola and 2n...

Reviewed Sat 9th of August 2008

"This is my 5th time in Fuengirola and 2nd(just got back) at the Ronda iv. There are two main points I can say about the Ronda iv and they are that is very very clean and you get what you pay for. The Ronda iv is the cheapest of all the apartments but its still a very good place to base your holiday. The are 3 types of apartment, a studio which is just 1 room to sleep and relax in (you sleep on a sofabed) the kitchen is just a small space at the end of the lounge and a seperate bathroom. A 1 bed which is the same as the studio but with an extra bedroom with twin beds and a 2 bed which is the same as the one bed but with another bedroom and the kitchen is a seperate room. The two bdroom apartments are beach facing. Some of the apartments have been updated and these are called the superior apartments and you get better updated furnishings and a bigger TV and air conditioning but these are more expensive. You cannot check in before 5pm if you apartment is not ready and you have to check out by 12 midday. The pool area is nice but does get very busy and does not open until between half ten and 11 when you will get the normal rush of people reserving sunbeds with no intention of using them untill much later. The pool area is too small for the amount of apartments using it as the area around the pool is small, the pool is very nice but a little too big for the area it sits in. The pool area has a bar serving snacks but opens when it wants to and the hotel has a bar which does not open until 6pm - 2am and not at all on a Tue or Sun.
The hotel bar area has 3 pool tables, air hocky and a table football. It also has 2 computers that you can use to gain internet access (10 cents per minute) at the end of the bar area is a tv area which is a smoking area.
The Hotel has a seperate shop and Restaurant (talk of the town) which is accessed from the beach side of the Hotel. Food is very good and prices are reasonable and it opens from 9 until the last person leaves. 10% off food if you stay at the Ronda iv or you have got your sunbeds from the Ronda iv Beach.
The rooms are cleaned twice a week and towels changed twice a week and the rubbish is taken every other day.
There is a carpark but it is small and does get full but parking is a problem on beach front so be aware of that if you hire a car. The Beach is very nice and about a 2 minute walk from the hotel entrance. Go and use the Playa ronda Beach where you will meet a little spanish man called Manolo who runs that part of the beach and is employed by the ronda iv . He is very nice and will ensure you get a bed where you want it and they are 8 euros for two beds. They also have jet skiing and paragliding a bit further down the beach near the Yaramar hotel.
Just outside the Hotel there are many other restaurants and shops that sell anything from English to Indian food and the shops have all the things you need for the beach including cold drinks and snacks.
The main area of the town is about a half hour walk to the right as you come out of the hotel, during this walk there are many many other restaurants and shops. Once you get into the main area of Fuengirola you will come to the London Pub and this is the area that has the night clubs and is a bit of a typical seaside area and is likely to be where any trouble may be late at night when all the bars and clubs are together. Further down from that is the main eating area of fuengirola and this is where all the restaurants are and if you walk back from the front a bit you will see all the nice areas of the town and the church and where the spanish go. You have to remember that the spanish holiday in Fuengirola and the town has many of its traditional restaurants and shops that cater for the spanish more so than the holiday makers but I think that this adds to the charm of the area and makes if more of a real spaish holoiday than just another see side type town like others nearby. Retaurants to go to for a very nice staek is Ponchos (turn right at the London Pub and its down end of road on the Right) Papa Luigi is good for italian and the fish reataurants are very good. The prics have not gone up over the last two years but the every iincreasing Euro has made it more expensive to eat and shop. Just outside the main area of Fuengirol and accross the main road(n340) is the Miramar shopping centre and Eurosiki Supermarket where you can shop till you drop with some very nice shops that always have sales on. The WOK chinese restaurant is also near the myramar and is very good as they cook all your food fresh once you have selected what you want and you can eat as much as you can for 11 Euros, a must if you like chinese food. The Eurosiki and Euromarkets are the cheapest by for for all you food and drink so its worth a trip there if you have a car as you will save alot than if you go to the little shops.
All in all its a great place if you want a cheap holiday and remember its what you make it."

"Just got back from Ronda 4 apartments, had a very good time there.(Temp 35 C + each day).

The hotel was clean & tidy, the apartment (1 bedroom) was spacious for three of us (two adult & 1 child). Only problem was the selfish people who reserved the limited beds then went off for a number of hours, however there was enough grassed area to lay out our towels out.
Spent a couple of days at the beach, lovely sand & sea, we brought a parasol for 8 euros and got our money's worth from this, as the beds were 4 euros each daily.

We ate out most nights, but were able to eat in the apartment as the kitchen had all the requirements to cook a meal (shop just round the corner for basic food requirements.

We travelled by train from Malaga airport to Torreblanca train station(4.05 euros for the 3 of us), however it was a 10 min walk to the apartments, as no taxis avail from train station, although you can get one from outside the hotel fuengirola 5 mins from station.

Places to try are 'Talk of the Town' the staff were great, 'Cheers 2' the owners were great hosts and 'Parky's' great food.

The area is not as busy as up in the main town, but the area is very pleasant and there is a good atmosphere throughout"

"Just returned from a two week break in the Ronda 4 Fuengirola with my wife, three children and mother-in-law. The hotel was brilliant with good facilities i.e. pool, pool bar, shop, pool tables, air hockey, internet and bar open as long as you're there... Ana the Russian bar maid was very friendly as were all of the staff who were more than happy to help us decide on day excursions and other activities. Other reviews i read had commented that the pool was cold, however, during our stay in early summer this was never the case and the pool was in fact the perfect temperature.

Our overall party comprised 18 people of all ages and we ate well throughout with very few complaints. All of the restaurants in the immediate vaccinity were very good and well priced, Cheers and Parkys both worth a mention as is The Hole in the Wall for Chinese food. The closer to the town center you get, the pricier the food is but still good quality."

Reviewed Fri 4th of July 2008

"My boyfriend and I stayed at the Ronda 4 for 2 weeks at the June and I can honestly say it is my favourite holiday so far! (i'm 24 and he's 27)
We stayed in a Studio room, which was really small, but then we knew it would be before we went because of the cheap price we payed, so we can't complain about it. I did manage to get a sneak look at the normal apartment rooms while they were being cleaned, and they were much much bigger, so if you have the spare cash I'd recommend getting one of those.
The pool was really nice, it was always busy and it was hard to get a sunbed unless you went down early to put a towel down, but there was plenty of grass to lay out on, and tables and chairs in the shade if you fancied a drink at the pool bar. a pint of lager at the pool bar and the inside one was 2.50 euros, large vodka cocktails at the pool bar were 5 euros and well worth it!
There's plenty of bars and restaurants on the promanade outside the hotel. Most days we were at Cheers 2 for breakfast, lovely couple run the place and would do anything for you. I'd reccommend eating at the Wessex and The Bayside Diner too, both fantastic and good prices too.
If you want to head to the lively places then you can have a walk into Fuengirola itself. The places to be are London Pub, Tramps, Foreplay and Linekars. Linekars was by far my favourite. Had an absolute blast in there!
All in all it was just a great 2 weeks"

"I have just returned from a stay at the Ronda iv apartment with my husband and my children.
I found the apartments to be nice and clean. The rooms had a small self contained kitchen, but we found it just as cheap to eat out. We actually had all our meals for the week at the Talk of the Town which is in the ronda complex. They do all the menu to take away which was handy for the pool via access through the back door, the staff were all great fun and we got 10% off all our food because we were staying in the apartment complex.
Manolo across the road on the beach was very nice and couldn´t do enough to help us.
We ventured in to fuengirola 2 times for the Zoo and the market which is on a Tuesday, but I don´t recomend going with a pushchair as it gets very busy.
All in all we had a brilliant time in the apartments and hopefully will be re-booking for September."

"We have just returned from a weeks stay at the ronda 4 and as a group of 3 young girls we wanted a lively hol. The ronda is in a good position and is directly across from the beach. The beach is clean and a lovely guy called paco will sell u a sunbed and wind break for the day for 4euro. It is well worth it as we had a couple of windy days.
The bars and restaurants along the front near the hotel offer a good choice of english food and are reasonably priced. My favourite was 'Fools and Horses' and the food was really nice. The other best ones were 'Talk of the town' and 'Cheers'. These bars were not as lively at night as we hoped and usually had english tv on and all the major sporting events.
At night we got a taxi into Fuengirola at 7 euros each way and had a fantastic time. 'The London pub' is a must and is a brilliant night out. We found that at this time of year it was big groups of older men around and a slight shortage of younger ones. My god can these old men party though and wont be backwards about coming forwards and wont hesitate to pass rude comments or even cop a feel of what they shouldn't.
The hotel itself is clean and nice even though the maid service isn't brilliant. The beds never got changed and the bin only got emptied once. For someone who is self catering and eats every meal in this could be a problem.
The kitchen had everything you needed and was by far the best self catering i have stayed in. The shower was really good and always hot rather than a slow trickle of cold water. The hotel had a bar but at this time of year is was open 18:00 until late (about 02:00). Reception staff were not very friendly or that willing to help apart from an english lady who was very nice.
All in all i would recommend this hotel and i would visit it again in the future.

The room in the hotel was massive considering there was only 2 of us!
Nice kitchen & bathroom, big bedroom, Living room, large balcony facing the sea was beautiful.

The prominade was busy all the time , loads of english restaurants, cocktail bars, pubs & shops!

About 10 mins walk to the resort centre where the english bars & nightclubs, restaurants, designer shops, harbour are.

Whether your a couple or a family you will have a great time here, the reps are really friendly and will sort out all your needs.

If you have booked a holiday for the Ronda - you will enjoy it i promise!!!"

"Excellent location, on the main road/promenade over looking the beach.
Apartments are large enough for 2 adults & 2 teenagers.
The balcony was a little small, but it did have a table & 4 chairs.
Room cleaned every 2 days towels changed every 2 days, extra if you went to reception.
There are numerous bars, cafes & restaurants to eat and drink in, try as many as possible especially the Spanish ones!
The beach is great, but take care to slap on plenty of high factor sun cream, because you will see a lot of well cooked holiday makers on the beach who have not heeded the warning!!!
If you get the chance take a trip up to Mijas, the view is worth the trip alone.
Overall an excellent holiday."
