Nice resort, rude staff

Reviewed 4th August 2014

"Staying at this resort now. First time here, not new to Benal though having been here numerous times over the years as my family live here. My advice, think twice before coming here. Some staff are great, really good - others very, very rude. We have literally just now had our bill thrown at us. Why? Because the food we asked for to be cooked well done wasn't. We were polite and still had it thrown at us by the same member of staff who spoke to me like a child when i earlier in the day asked for help with a kiddies machine that swallowed my daughters (6) money. The pool is good but you'll be lucky to get a decent sunbed. The 'rule' is after an hour of non use the lifeguards remove the towel. What actually happens is every day when it opens the same people nab the sunbeds before you can blink & then go off for hours (often half the day) and the lifeguards do nothing, even when asked. Positives - nice resort and apartments, reception very good, kids entertainer brilliant. Apartments are nice and resort kept clean. One incident where an air rifle was being walked round the swimming pool by staff but seemed a genuine mistake. And to top it off we won the bingo at the Clubhouse, kids chose a bottle of kiddies champagne as a prize which we opened at the table and then we were moaned at for doing so. Joke. And that was 10 minutes ago. We still have over a week left and I'm dreading it. "

"just arrived home after a fabulous break in pueblo evita, staff, swimming pool area and location second to none. rooms a bit tired but that didn't take away from how clean everything was and how central to benalmadena the resort was. Entertainment in the clubhouse excellent with good well priced food and drinks only 13.50 euros for breakfast and a 2 course evening meal! Lots of steps in the complex but if you dont want to go out I recommend you stay on site and use the Clubhouse. "

nice holiday apartment

Reviewed 20th October 2012

"We, 4 adults, spent one week in Pueblo Evita as RCI exchange in July 2008. Pros: +We had a 2 bedroom apartment, which was lovely. It was spacious enough to accommodate us, with 2 bathrooms and a full kitchen. Air condition worked well and cleaning was thorough. +The resort is located in a good spot. It's a short walk to beach front as well as to Arroyo de la Miel. Cons: - The biggest problem was water, which was continuously dropping (sometimes pouring) somewhere from above to several spots of our patio and made it unusable. I reported this problem immediately on the first morning to reception and they promised to fix it. I kept telling them about this problem, to at least three different people of Pueblo Evita, but NOTHING was done to fix it. This one problem made otherwise lovely resort look like a motel. - Towels were changed too often (daily), it is not ecological. - Our telephone did not work at all during our stay. It was reported immediately to reception, but they could not fix it. - There were too few parasols in upper pool area, and the ones that were there were broken. We had to bring our own ones. Anyway, taking those cons into consideration, I can recommend this resort."

"We had a great time at the resort, the apartment was clean and well equiped, the staff were happy and helpfull, the childrens entertianer was great with the kids, the pool was good with plenty of sun beds, the clubhouse served reasonably priced food and drink from early mid morning untill 1am everyday with entertainment on week nights. It was easy to get out and about even if you did not hire a car as the bus service is good and the taxi's plentiful. The only think I would say is if you go in high season book an elite unit as the standard units do not have A/C."

Great family break

"Recently had a family holiday at Pueblo Evita,8 people ages from7 to 73. Everyone had a great time younger children were well looked after by Joseph kids club organiser who seemed to have never ending patience and energy. Apartments spacious and clean with good maid service.Service in clubhouse good and very friendly especially night when Spain won Euro 2008,full marks to Jose.Choice of 2 pools both excellent. Only downside for some people could be a lot of steps but we did not find this a problem . Children desperate to return next year."

Great for relaxing holiday

Reviewed 30th October 2012

"My wife and I booked this through RCI - A timeshare company. Most of the people at this resort had timeshare. We have 2 kids, 2 and 4, and despite lots of steps up to the room, the stay was very pleasurable. It has 2 supermarkets next to it. The pool was great - for adults and kids. To be honest, we didn't use any other facilities there - we either went to the pool, or went to the beach (5 min walk). The apartment was clean and tidy, and had everything we needed. We had a room at the top so had great views to the sea, and over the pool etc. RCI were rubbish, and mucked up our booking - luckily there was another couple who also had their booking wrong for 2 rooms, so they went elsewhere and we got their 2 bed apartment. Very lucky for us. I would go again, although I expect at peak times it could get very busy."

"From the 4.3.07.until 18.3.07 we had a great time in the Evita Club Apartments. The club is a short walk from the beach and close to all shops etc. The apartments are really well equipped and the TV has BBC 1, ITV, Ch4 and Sky Movies. The grounds are well kept and has a good club house which also has good food. There is also a rooftop pool with lots of space and a artificial bowling green. There is entertainment each night at the club house. The complex may not be suitable for anyone with walking difficulties as there are no lifts to the apartments which are built into the side of a hill, from the supermarket to our room was 189 steps. There are rooms at ground level so it may be worth checking when booking as to availability. SUMMING UP A GREAT HOILIDAY AT A GREAT RESORT."
