"The apartments were formerly known as Pepita Alay. They have been refurbished and offer clean modern accommodation. We stayed in a studio apartmemt from 24th Sept. to 29th Sept. and it was cleaned, with towels changed, daily excepting Sunday. Staff were friendly and, for an extra charge, we were given a late checkout, which was great given that our flight didn't leave until 20.30. They are right beside the Hotel Alay which is beside the marina and the beach. The 24 hr square and the beach are only about 150 m away either side of the apartments. Couldn't have asked for better value for money."

Great Value for money, rooms modern and clean.
"Stayed in the MS Alay for 3 nights as a short break. Wasnt sure what to expect as I had read a few mixed reviews. Recent reviews all appear to be very good though which would suggest that the apartments have benefited by refurb over last few years. My wife and I thought rooms were very clean and modern with all you would need. My only small criticism was that the pool area didnt have a pool bar (appears to have been closed) and lacked a bit of atmosphere. Saying that still plenty of sunbeds and space to relax and unwind! Also great location to beach & marina where there are plenty of bars & restaurants. Also mini train which departs close to apts which will take you round the town for 4 Euro return. Would recommend Cable Cars!"

"We were allocated on arrival at these the Alay aps and I have to say I was worried to say least!!They have recently been refurbished to a very high standard and I must say I was very impressed with how immaculate they were.Pool view is a must though as the other side of the building may be a bit noisy. Excellent location"

Really nice but noisy at night !!
"Myself and my mum stayed here for a week..Im 21 and the mums 50! The studios themselves are lovely..really modern with flatscreen tv, double bed, kettle, microwave, toaster and are always kept to a high standard with the cleaning. Air con is great !! The poolside is nice with beds and parasols. You need to pay 1.80 a day for a bed but you get a nice comfy pad with it which makes all the difference. Never did we go without a bed as the lifeguard kept on his toes with taking the beds away that people were not being using. Only downside was that there was no entertainment such as music and no bar, although there were two can machines for drinks during the day! The location is great ! Down the hill is the marina, beach, supermarket that closes at 3am and restaurants and up the hills is another supermarket, restaurants, Mc Donalds and some pubs in the Square! With the marina we would recommend one of the boat drips to see the dolphins, just look for the best prices :) Also walk right along the marina as there are a few trendy and lively bars which are out the way. The only downfall was that the apartments where situated on a main road which was really noisy at night ! Im 21 and can usually sleep through anything but i felt this part did interfer with my sleep and was a nuisance !! All in all, it was a good holiday away :)"

"Last minute booking. Not expecting much after seeing previous reviews but delighted with the results! Excellent position for marina, beach and promenade. Vast selection of restaurants. (Our favourite being a dutch one at the marina called LA RUBIA - great steak) The apartment was spotlessly clean with bed linen and towels changed every day. Also pool area kept tidy with plenty of comfy sunbeds. Will definitely return."

"My hubby and I stayed here for 5 days on a little break to recharge our batteries and I cant believe how nice they are!! The apartments have obviously been been refurbished ince the last reviews on here and are immaculate. The studio apartment we stayed in was fantastic. Large kingsize bed and a double sofa bed, flat screen TV. The kitchen area had all brand new cutlery and crockery, our toaster and kettle had never been used and there was a fridge and a 2 ring halogen hob. Like the rest of the apartment the bathroom was very contemporary and there was always hot water from the shower. The position of MS alay is perfect 2 mins down the hill to the marina and beach and about 100 yds from the supermarket and the bus stop where for 1 euro 20 you could pop off to the old town and have a wander round the quaint little streets and have a meal in one of the many restaurants. The pool is immaculate and a pool boy is employed to keep it clean and also to get you a sunbed. There is free wi fi which works in reception and around the pool. We were extremely worried before we went as I had not seen the reviews when I booked but I can assure you that you will not be disappointed with The Apartamentos MS Alay as they have now been called."

"The Pepita Alay apartments are badly in need of refurbishment. Our room had broken furniture, the beds were uncomfortable, the air conditioning didn't work and the decor was straight from the 1960's!! We booked this as a 'bargain' package holiday with Airtours and only paid £300 each for a 14 night stay but realised it is definitely true that you only get what you pay for! The brochure described the apartments as 3* but we've stayed in 2* apartments in the past that have been loads better. The only good thing about the Pepita Alay apartments is their location. They are only a few minutes walk from the Marina which has a nice selection of bars and restaurants. They are also close to the beach, although this has to be the dirtiest beach we've ever seen so we ended up walking to Torremolinos beach instead, which was much nicer. Wouldn't recommend these apartments at all!"
