"i was staying in this hotel for 5 days only which was to be honest was 5 days to many i arrived with my two sons on the monday at around mid-day only to find they didnt know i was arriving the room was well not very clean to be honest i then got into my room 1 hour after arriving at the hotel. only to discover their was only 2 beds in the room so ihad to go & speak to reception for another bed to be put in the room which are not very big. although it wasnt very hot the pool was empty, filthy, & didnt look as if it had water in it for a long time. food was awfull had to eat out every day so didnt spend much time at hotel. a 3* it certainly isnt."

"My husband and i recently stayed at the Villasol Hotel out of season, we were very dissapointed with the food and felt hungry most of the time, the breakfast was very poor and consisted of mainly bread and fruit.
The main meal was of poor choice and overall felt the hotel catered for the Spanish and Italian guests, there appeared to be more of a choice of menu for them.
We did not expect any entertainment at this time of year, but feel the hotel could have made more of an effort to make us welcome.
The room was very clean a credit to the cleaners, and also the view from the hotel onto the sea front was a real bonus."

"I have just returned from a weekend break (Thursday-Sunday) at the Hotel Villa Sol together with 19 other golf friends and I can only describe the experience as ânot pleasant and a nightmareâ.
We arrived about midnight on the Thursday and were informed by the reception that the hotel did not have enough rooms for us all (We had booked this holiday some eight months previous..so lack of knowledge cannot be an excuse). It ended up with two lots of three grown men having to share a double room. 2 males topping and tailing in the double and one on a camp bed.
The breakfast was that bad that we all went across the road to one of the bars opposite and had another breakfast and did not bother returning to the restaurant for the rest of the weekend. The reception staff would only give each room one key which led to me returning to the hotel late on Friday, somewhat bladdered and with no key as my roomie had ventured off elsewhere in the resort and I could not find him. I explained this to the reception and asked to be let into MY room to which they refused and suggested I sleep in the reception area on a chair. It was only when I persisted and asked for the manager that a spare key was found. I really could not recommend this hotel to anyone and itâs only plus point could be its location very close to the beach and resort centre."

The Hotel was basic but clean we loved our Holiday We are going Back
"We have just come back From Benalmadena where we stayed at the Hotel Villasol.
We were abit apprehensive at first but we needed have worried. We had a sea view room plus pool.
The Staff were helpful and pleasant the rooms clean with clean towels and shower gel and soapevery day.
The hotel was Full of spanish but what a holiday we had they made us feel at home we were invited to dance with them and also we had a sing song there was no language barrier.
The glory of this Hotel it is close to the beach and the sound of the sea crashing on the rocks made you feel relaxed.
The pool was nice with tables and chairs to shelter if you needed too.
There were other nationalities staying at this hotel and every one was friendly.
The food was every day typical hotel food when in Spain its nice to have a change from the usual.
There was plenty and it was always nice and hot,but if youare expecting a large English breakfast forget it.
We are hopin to go back later in the year so that must tell you something.
go and enjoy"

Basic clean hotel
"Just returned from the Villasol. It wasnt the best hotel but we did pay approx 30 pounds for the two of us dinner, bed and breakfast. The room was clean, basic facilties, shower was good and bed was very comfortable. We had a sea view room so that was nice. Rooms have air conditioning at no extra charge. Unfortunately the pool was out of order due to maintencance, dont know how much longer this will go on for, we could not use a pool at a neighbouring hotel also which was annoying. The staff are nice, they dont go out of there way but they are nice. The food was basic, breakfast was continental, depending on who you book the hotel through, you can pre-order a fry up the day before, we didnt bother - we get that enough here. Evening meal was generally bland, not a huge choice but you cannot expect this for what you pay.
There were a lot of old locals staying there, on our last day a lot more people had checked in (not locals) therefore the food choice was better and it tasted nicer too, so if you travel now then you might be in luck.
Excellent location as the bus stop is right outside, shops, restaurants and bars on both sides. A lot of places are in walking distance, if not the buses are cheap and reliable. Weather was around 19/20 degrees but you did need a jumper/cardigan at night. Did not swim in the sea as it was way too cold.
Would stay again if on a tight budget"

Good Value Villasol
"This hotel was very good value for the price of £37 per night for two people for bed breakfast and evening meal.
It was clean, with beach views. Entertainment every night.
18 euros taxi ride from Malaga airport."

"We found The Hotel Villasol to be a good competant 3* hotel.
The hotel is clean, the rooms are a decent size, the staff are helpful & the food is fine.
Plus points are 1. It is very near the beach & promenade (66 steps. There is an alternative route without steps)) 2. Bus Stop outside hotel for those who may wish to venture further afield. Direct to Malaga & Fuengirola etc 3. Cafe/bar in hotel - looked great & not too expensive. - there are a number of bars across the road as an alternative.
Slight minus - Pool area not that big - only 33 sun loungers + a few seats.
Summary - a good hotel in a good location."
