my childs been sick three week from his stay
"My two year old child has been sick after swimming in pool. After tests we know he caught a parasite from swimming in the pool. Hes still is sick not the same child because of this bug. I don't want another child to catch this. My doctor has been in touch with Environmental health and i have emailed the hotel and they haven't got back to me. Hopefully the pool is cleaned i don't want another child to catch this........."

Poor customer service pool staff should not be working around children
"Clean hotel with good food, however the pool staff were very rude my 4 year old daughter was playing with a small water gun that I bought from the hotel shop. Another child picked this up as children do and the life guard took if off him snapped it in half and put it in the bin. I could not believe my eyes he then said no water guns allowed. This happened within the first hour at this hotel. The manager was also not very helpful. I would never return to this hotel. "

Cardiac Hill II
"Yes it's up a steep hill and wayyy out of town, but we knew what to expect having previously stayed in the Vistamar on the same street. Booked as a last minute 2 week package through Thomas Cook the price was about the same as what it would have cost us to book everything seperately, our usual modus operandi. Went self catering, which was OK although the fridge wasn't very big, there are 2 largeish supermarkets nearby so it wasn't a big deal just to pop down and get fresh stuff every day. We also went for the 5 day meal package in the restaurant to give us a break from cooking occasionally, it probably worked out more expensive than just going half board in the first place but it was OK, the meals were fine if not spectacular. Rooms were OK with a reasonable amount of space, occasional silverfish emerging from the drain in the bathroom floor, air conditioning appeared to blow cold for about 5 minutes then go hot for no reason. Didn't bother with the entertainment, it's usually poor in the spring anyway consisting of the usual touring novelty acts trying to make money out of you, and the stage area was so small if you didn't get your seat at 4pm you didn't get a seat. Indoor pool was nice with a steam room, sauna, hot tub and gym all free to use, there was a bit of building work down there but it didn't impinge. Outdoor pool was too cold this time of year. We like walking the length of the sea front so the distance from the town (about 2 miles) wasn't a problem for us, and there's a nice bit around the front of the Sunset Beach. The hill is a pain though, especially after a whole day out. All in all 7/10 would probably go back if the price was right."

"we have just arrived back home from a weeks stay at the hotel which we found very nice, we stayed with our 3 children 15 13 and 6yrs, all had a fab hol and want to go back, accomadation was nice, entertainment was great n staff very friendly and helpful. lots to do in the hotel and out n about. the hill everyone keeps moaning on about is nt a prob, instead of walking up it walk passed it and walk onto the next street above there you will find a path (oppisite the supermarket)leading up to the hotel that isnt steep as takes you to level 0, (indoor pool)where u can then take the lift to the remaining floors!.. simple!! we will be returning again next year, we met lots of great people here, a good alrounder hotel with lots of good perks!! May need to be a hobbit to stay here!!
"Just returned from a week in Benalmadena Palace. Overall the hotel was great, kids disco was great and our two loved it. We were self catering so never sampled the food there, steep hill to get to hotel, but not a problem for us two. The main gripe was the design of our 'studio apartment'. The ceiling slopes down, so my husband (who is 6ft 4") couldnt stand up straight to use wardrobe and safe. Poor design. The rooms could do with being a bit cleaner and the bedding looks a bit 'tired' and grubby! The kids club needs to be more secure as i overheard a mum complaining to staff that her 4 year old son, who she had booked in the kids creche, had been found wandering round the pool and had 'escaped' from the kids club!!!! The staff were friendly and worked theor socks off, overall a good holiday and we would recommend the hotel to others .....especially hobbits!!!!"

Good Value for Money!
"Just returned from a weeks stay at the Benalmadena Palace, I travelled with my husband, son aged 5 and grandparents. We were on a half-board package, holiday was booked as a last minute deal through Airtours so can't grumble about the price, on arrival we did enquire about upgrading from half-board to all inclusive but price was extortionate we were quoted 1700euros for 6 people!! Food was very good & plenty of choice even for the fussiest of eaters! Two happy-hours 5:00pm-6:00pm in the snack bar and again 8:00pm - 9:00pm in the main bar, kids entertainment started at 7:30pm, followed by the adult entertainment at 10:30pm, my only gripe was when the kids entertainment had finished there was a long period (approx 1-hour) before the adult entertainment started and seemed crazy to put a bird / reptile show on at 11:30pm at night which was aimed at kids! Entertainment programme definately needs to be looked at!! Outdoor pool was freezing most prob due to time of year & my son was most disapointed as blow-up boats / toys etc were banned in the pool so the kids soon got fed up, we visited the indoor pool a few times during our visit which was fine but not the same as being outside I suppose. All in all we had a very enjoyable holiday with the family, don't listen to the other reviews about the walk from the hotel, yes it is steep but as previously mentioned there are shortcuts via the garage and its not as bad as people are making out, we managed it every day with 2 pensioners & a 5-year old in tow! On a final note some of the staff need to have a few lessons in customer service mentioning no names but all in all an enjoyable stay. "

Good but not good enough
"Having just returned from a short break at the Benalmadena Palace I would comment that the Hotel and especially the grounds are nice. Problems arise with cleanliness in the rooms (Not cleaned every day and lots of dust under beds etc.) and the lack of heating. This was turned off in the rooms on 1st March regardlesss of the weather which was decidely chilly in the evenings so having an apartment was not necessary when it was too cold to sit in it. Staff were very pleasant and in general the food adequate but unimaginative and at times poorly cooked. As we had taken a very low cost break it was nice to have sunshine during the day and a place to sleep but I would certainly not rate this as a four star hotel. The cabaret artiste had to compete with several TV's showing football matches and a considerable amount of noise which was sad as she had a really good voice."
