Defiantly returning to this hotel.. Fab.
"Returned from holiday on 17th June 2016, after a two week stay. Fantastic hotel, staff & accommodation... Beds very comfortable and very clean rooms which applies to the whole hotel.
Don't believe other negative reviews, experience it yourself. Other holiday makers are all friendly, used signing to Spanish guests, which caused a few laughs... Staff are very approachable and accommodating... Making you feel at home very quickly...
The location is facing the marina, lots of shops and bars and restaurants. We walked along there after evening meal every night... And got to know a few of the staff there too.
Food on all inclusive is excellent.... Variety of choices, the best being the pancakes with sugar and lemon at breakfast, especially cooked by Maria...
Thursday evening meal is a shell fish variety, which is excellent.. As many mussels and king prawns as you can eat... The cakes made fresh every day deserve a try too, very soft sponge with a different flavor every night.
I really enjoyed my stay here with my husband and parents in laws... However, it is a bit too hilly for them to walk about in the area..."

"My wife and I have just returned from one week all-inclusive,which we have not done this option before. We found the room/bathroom very clean. Air con in room . We asked for and got,a room, higher up.(4th floor). There are 3 lifts, however, quite small, but did the job. The staff, from the front desk, waiting, bar and maids, were efficient ,smart and hardworking. If you actually try and make the small effort to smile and be polite and chat with them, they were always happy to respond. However, some 'people',don't consider doing this!!! .....there loss. The whole complex, inside and in the grounds, were clean and no rubbish lying around. The food was varied and the choice extensive.an abundance of breads, salads and fresh fruits.also various fish and meat dishes were served daily. Obviously, some of the sauces, soups and extras were packet.then again ,with possibly upto 900 meals over 3 sittings, then I would accept this. You were not rushed through your meals and didn't feel pressured to move. However, I would recommend going to eat, at least an hour before each end of service. As it would become quite busy. The pool area was clean and the surrounding palms and borders were well kept. However, due to the smaller size of this area, sun beds could be quite hard to come by,throughout the day. The hotel did have a rule, where no one was allowed by the pool area before 8am, - the access to this area, was actually kept locked,to stop "reservations"!! But as we all know,it still takes place to a certain degree. There was a 'kids club'/crèche if wanted.run by appropriate staff. The mix of nationalitys was interesting: approx 60% Spanish and various parts of the UK making up nearly the rest. There were people of all ages, shapes and sizes .From pensioners,to young families. Couples to small groups of single parties. Everybody respected the other.there was no drunkeness or intimidation on the premises. I would agree that we were lucky to have a balcony overlooking the gardens/pool area and if we had,had a room overlooking the side roads or back of the hotel behind us,then we would of been disappointed. Yes,you can here some revellers returning to where ever they were staying, from the harbour area ,early hours of the morning. We were only 300 metres from the waterfront, but it wasn't "a riot". I expect every hotel in the area ,experienced the same as well. As for the person in a previous review, who moaned about lack of plug sockets and wi fi in the room...... Well sorry mate, but if that's all you can moan about, then stay at home...you obviously have different requirements. Take a euro plug converter, put it in you shower room socket and charge your phone in there !!! Finally and too sum up: my wife and I would Defo' stay there again. Good food, clean, friendly, efficient and children friendly. However,we would like the same room....but that would be telling :-)"

What a smashing holiday.
"The hotel is in such a great location so plenty to do . Renato and Cheima work so hard to make sure you have a fun time, My friend Gill and I joined in the darts match, the shooting, french bowls.excercise and dance class, so a big thank-you to them both, There were quite a few spanish ladies in the hotel and we enjoyed dancing with them in the evening. "Both of our suitcases were broken into here and all the money taken from them inside the room. Stayed here from 27Aug - 3rdSept 2012 and booked through hotels4u.com 7 nights h/b. We woke up to find the door open and realised both suitcases were opened. We had kept locks on our cases at all times but the zips had been ripped open and all the cash taken from them while we were asleep. We noticed the door had been damaged where the door handle/lock is located as if someone had forced something through to force the lock open. We couldn't sleep for the remainder of the holiday. Another guest showed us similar damage to his door on the same floor and although he had not been robbed, he told us the maids had taken his key out of the room while he was there and had to retrieve it from them.
In my opinion there is no way this could happen without some sort of hotel staff collusion. We reported the theft to reception but all they did was hand us a number for the police. The hotel itself wasn't great either. The staff could be rude, the computers in the lobby did not work for the duration of our stay, there was only one night of entertainment the whole week we were there and the rooms and bathrooms were pretty small. i'm not a person to be negative
"but this hotel was not 3 star plus as we were led to beleive from Thompson. First impressions always count and on arrival we found the reception staff extremly unfriendly and very unwelcoming. We werenot told about any welcome meeting with Thompson, and then had a leaflet under our door to say they were sorry they had missed us.
Room very basic but clean enough. We noticed one night someone had been in our room as the bed had been pulled away from the wall and there was a knee print on the bed, when we enquired about it at reception they said they couldnt check the system until morning, with a nasty attitude.
Food very poor , great if you want salad each night as they had good variety of that. Could not get a seat at the pool if you didnt have your towel out by 7.30am, entertainment was very poor, if you like bingo etc then you may like it but not for us. Hotel is good position for the marina just across the road, and a short walk to beach, Not very many english people there mainly spanish hotel. Would definatly go back to Benalmadena again but definatly not to this hotel. "

"Cant undertstand why people complain so much about this hotel ! If you get a cheap holiday dont expect the Ritz!
The hotel is well equipped with a large clean pool, jacuzzi, gym and indoor pool.Excellent garden area around pool with adequate sunbeds. The bars within the hotel are clean with loads of seating. The staff are friendly and curteous, yes you have to sign for your drinks etc but this only takes 2 seconds and is no hassle at all.
The food is good and there is PLENTY of choice both british and spanish with salads, fish and meat available at every meal if you want sausage and chips, fish and chips stay in Britain! the resturant is clean with waiter service.
Yes the rooms are small but how often are you in them?
The hotel is in an ideal location 2 minutes from the marina and all its attractions,2 minutes to the beach and a short walk to the "square" which has a number of bars.
Whilst we were there the hotel was primarily spanish tourists who we found pleasant and curteous, they had well behaved kids and didnt let them run riot. You cannot expect to go on holiday and have your hotel full of brits!
Anyway this is a good hotel with more plus points than negative ones and as previously stated if youre geting a cheap holiday you shouldnt expect the ritz. "

"Just got back from a lovely stay. Nice hotel, great location with the marina and beach at the bottom of the tropical garden complete with little parakeets.(We were lucky enough to have one of the corner family suites with a triple balcony over looking the beautiful pool gardens and the marina; be aware that some rooms look out over a side street! We definitely lucked out.) Quite busy when we were there but mostly pensioners and families which was brilliant, it meant there no drunken idiots! We were half board and had lots of choice for breakfast and evening meals. All the usual "all you can eat" buffet style stuff, i.e. Full English, continental or fruit etc for breakfast. Evening meals had a great salad starter with a choice of a main meal of meat or fresh fish, with all the trimmings. The fussy kids could survive on chips, sausage, beans, pizza and all the desserts. Entertainment was provided in the evenings which the kids loved and it saved us wasting money down in the puerto. The only gripe we had with our 2 little girls was that there were only 2 toilets you could use without returning to the room. One at the fitness centre and one in reception. As you can imagine these had lots of use by everyone and despite regular cleaning we preferred to return to our room."

Lovely relaxing weekend
"We are regular guests and managed to fit in a short break between longer stays that are usually in May and October. The hotel was full of Spanish families and that was a big plus as there was a lovely positive atmosphere in the hotel and quiet at night allowing us to sleep really well. The food was very good with loads of choice and I disagree with other reviews that state the food has gone downhill. Despite the hotel being fully booked everywhere was spotlessly clean and we feel that the cleaning staff do a fantastic job. Indeed, all of the staff work exceptionally hard and we would not hesitate to recommend the hotel."

will most certainly NOT be staying again
"when we first arrived we were not shown around and were left to find everything ourselves, we were told that the hotel was for young party people and singles but we soon realised it was mainly for the older generation. the staff were quite arrogant apart from the house keeping, they were lovely, on the other hand i had hurt myself one night and got a little blood on my bed sheets, when i came back 2 my room later in the day it appeared they had made the beds etc but hadn't put clean sheets on the beds as there was still blood on the sheets. we had all inclusive package with the hotel but found ourselves eating out every day as the food was just awful. The area itself was absolutely beautiful, lots of shops and many pubs and clubs so we enjoyed ourselves but was a waste of money as most of the all inclusive was NOT all inclusive ie. drinks, we only had a small selection of drinks that were incusive, the rest we had to pay for and were extremely expensive. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone unless you are self catering and not spending alot of time in the hotel through the day."

very good value
"We have just returned from a long weekend away at the Hotel Palmasol and although the hotel was fully booked mainly with Spanish pensioners everywhere was very clean and the food of a high standard. We noted how hard the staff worked to keep standards to the way we have grown to appreciate over the years and this was noted by several others staying who are regular visitors also. The weather was very mixed during our stay but yoga/pilates, boules and some evening entertainment kept us busy. We recommend to all who appreciate good value, good food and lovely gardens and pool area."

"We have just returned from another lovely stay at the Hotel Palmasol. The staff are always helpful and cheerful and the animation programme particularly good. The food is always of a good standard with lots of choice even for vegetarians like myself. The rooms, although a little basic are always spotlessly clean as are all of the public rooms. The gardens and pool area are beautiful and a lovely place to relax. There is a gym and indoor pool also for cooler days. Each time we stay at the Palmasol there are always quite a few regular visitors there at the same time, all of us appreciating the good quality and value for money that has been constant for the last 30 years. In summary this is a three star hotel that provides a relaxing break that is managed and run by hard working staff. "

Dont do it!
"this hotel is very dated, never wothy of it's star ratings, the staf are the most unhelpful gang that I have come across. we booked a double room overlooking the gardens and pool area. we ended up overlooking two semi demolished rat infested hotels that looked like London during the blitz, this area was also the main road from the marina, so if you are mad enough to stay here don't expect any sleep. We aked to change rooms, but the surly staff member shrugged his shoulders and said not possible.
The lights fused in our bathroom, so we were unable to use that for several hours, the electrician left the floor covered in bits of debris, this was still there there two days later. the good points are the gardens, they were quite nice. the breakfast was well i paid for so i may as well eat it.
I would never return to this particular hotel unless i was casting for a remake of fawlty towers
