Originally a favourite holiday destination for Spanish families, the Costa De La Luz (Coast of light) has more recently become popular with German, French and British holidaymakers.
Beginning near the Portuguese border, the resort of Costa Del Luz runs down the south-west coast of Spain ending at the small town of Tarifa. Unlike Spain’s other Costas on the east coast, which border the Mediterranean Sea, Costa De La Luz looks out onto the Atlantic and so benefits from an ocean breeze making it an ideal holiday to enjoy water sports; especially windsurfing. Also, in contrast to the other Costas, it has remained largely under-developed giving the area a much more relaxed feel. With an average temperature of 30°C in July and August it is an ideal location for families and couples looking for a quiet beach holiday with a more traditional Spanish flavour.
With its close proximity to Seville, Gibraltar and the City of Cadiz there are ample sightseeing opportunities on offer with day trips being available to book within many of the resorts.
There are a number of airports that service the region including, Seville, Jerez and Gibraltar.
