"Five of us ladies went here for three nights in September 2013. We knew it was two star but as we normally have a caravan holiday in England this was a step better as we got the sun too! Our apartment was spacious and clean. The food was basic but always something to eat. We went all inclusive and the drink selection was excellent. The entertainment staff were brilliant and made us feel very included. Everyone was friendly and we made some good friends. The bus to town was great and free. Ran very hour. The only draw back was the transfers from Barcelona. We were the last drop off and we had a two and a half hour journey. We are going again in 2014 and as the transfer prices have gone up so much we will be hiring a car to get us to and from the airport as it will be cheaper and quicker. You can fly to Gerona and transfer is 45 minutes but more expensive. Would highly recommend."

Not a great hotel
"We returned from the hotel on the 30th of June. Family with a child of 2.We went half board. The food was good, but fried breakfast was almost always cold. We had a third floor room with a hole in the ceiling where you could see where the rain had run down the wall and black mould above the window. Furthermore, we were given the room next to the entrance of the complex(despite asking for the quiet one when booking through this website) and it was a nightmare. Every time people were coming upstairs you could hear every step and all they are talking about(at 2 o'clock in the morning!!!). We complained to reception several times and asked for another room, but were not offered one until the day before we left. The hotel is not suitable for families with little children, as the entertainment starts late, runs until midnight and is extremely loud. One night they put a horror show on with very loud screaming, which distressed our 2 year old,as he was trying to get to sleep. The playground has seen better days and needs urgent attention. We shall not be using this hotel again. "

"i have been to san eloy 9 times, the staff have all been very friendly,i have never had dodgy tummy with the food or drink, and the entertainment team put on a lot of good shows,i have met lots of friends over the years, and there are approxs 15 families that go same time every year and it is nice to meet back up with them,we keep in touch throughout the year many of them from different parts of europe.we are going back on 10july 2012 and cant wait.the rooms are cleaned daily and towels changed daily, nothing is a problem to the cleaners when you ask for something.the driver of the bus is very courteuos and does 2 trips on market days to get all guests back to the hotel.the kids have a ball and are entertained day and night.secuirity patrol the site they are very friendly and will sometimes tell tou to keep the noise down(which is ok becuase it is late at night.everybody looks out for each others kids.its a very safe environmet for children.

"my husband and I and our 2 children have being to san eloy 3 times, the rooms are spacious and clean,we got clean towels every 2 days, the food was
lovely, the staff very friendly and helpfull, the bus service was great and both the old driver and the new driver are lovely, the entertainment was a bit cheesey, but the kids thought it was great so thats what matterd, the kids were happy, so we were,as for the ants yes there was some but what do you expect your in spain the heat and the food attracts them, reception are very helpfull, the restraunt and the bar service is good, the hotel is only a 2 star ive had far worse service and amenties in 4 star, so it anoys me to see all these bad reviews, because you get what you pay for, and in the case of san eloy you get more than what you pay for it is an excellent hotel made very enjoyable by the fact the staff are friendly end effecient. As far as people who dont have children it says in all brochures etc its child friendly, you only have to read the write ups about it to realise this so if you didnt read it tough,do your research,or book an adults only holiday, the hotel is brillant and we are planning to go back again and again"

"Not the best hotel, the food was bland and tasteless, very repetitive, Maitre De was ignorant and unhelpfull, some bar staff were brilliant Sami and Lydia, others were very arrogant and ignorant ( no names ).The cleaners did their best but watch out for ants everywhere inside and outside rooms, and the birds nesting above balconies and just be aware of dogs wandering around outside building, if you plan to take your car be aware that the cctv only covers the front of the building and after 24 hours the recording is wiped so if you have an incident tell reception to give recording to police otherwise it will be wiped. Bus driver quite ignorant he will leave before his time and if you are waiting in Tossa between times even though the bus is there he will not take you back to hotel you have to wait for his next trip.

Not as great as I thought it would be
"Me and my partner stayed at San Eloy for a week and im glad it was only a week! We stayed All Inclusive and its a good job we did otherwise we would have been skint after a couple of days! The food was alright but disappointing and the puddings were even worse. As it was only me and my partner ( Im 25,hes 32) we felt really out of place as this place is very child friendly. I think we were the only ones without children! The appartment was clean, although very small and basic. The cleaning lady was very nice, I felt sorry for her as it only seemed to be her cleaning all the rooms every day. We didnt go in the pool as there were to many kids about or the reps were playing water polo in there. The free hourly bus was really good. We used this a lot, just to get out of the complex. The weather was rubbish too!"

Your in for a great time
"We have been to the San Eloy for the past 3 years and had a great holiday everytime. The kid love it. Im looking to some new venture this year. However, the kids refuse to go anywhere else. The entertainment is a little slapstick but it works well and gets everyone going.

"Me and my cousin and our kids aged 3, 4 and 7 have just returned from a weeks holiday in May! All i can say was absolutely brilliant!!!
This is supposed to be a 2 star but should defo be a 3 star plus!
All of the rooms faced onto the pool area which was great, we luckilly had a room opposite the park which was great for sitting on the balcony watching the kids, we had no fault with the rooms, they were very clean and the maid changed our bedding/towels about 4 times that week. The rooms were very modern and everything seemed quite new.
The food was really nice, there was alwyas alot to choose from and if you love seafood you will love this place, snacks are served throughout the day up until midnight and are made to order.
The reps work extremely hard keeping adults and kids entertained throughout the day, the night time shows are brilliant and i must say the performance the reps gave for the Grease show was outstanding!!! Considering it was the first time they performed it! There is something different on every night with a kids mini disco at 08:30, diplomas at 9 (if you.your kids win the games throughout the day they get a certificate which they give out on the night time)then a main show about 09:45 until 11, also music is played until midnight if you wanted to stop out a bit later.
Overall an excellent holiday and we are planning on returning in August!"

"We went to this hotel the last two weeks in August and we had such a great time. Please don't listen to any of the negative reviews, I think these people were booking a 2* and expecting a 5*! Everything about this hotel was great, an although it was about a mile out of Tossa there was a bus every hour so that was not an issue. The hotel rooms were nicely presented and cleaned thoroughly every day. All the staff were very helpful and friendly, the food was delicious, so much to choose from and you even got Paella once a week - yum! The entertainment staff were a credit to this hotel, led by Robin. This is a great place if you have kids. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone and think it deserves a high * rating myself. Thank you to everyone at the San Eloy! x"
