A little gem of a hotel.
"This hotel is fantastic, clean modern rooms, great service, roof top spa is a bonus. Used the swimming pool at the sister hotel 2 mins walk away, had the pool to ourselves.
Stayed half board & the food was great, enquired about gazpacho soup - guess what - next night it was on the menu!
This hotel really cannot be faulted - the only downside is the tiny balcony - but you can squeeze two people on and a coffee table.
Every member of staff was extremely helpful - we will certainly return."

right in the heart of things....
"This was a great little hotel. We arrived late and the porter was very helpful about parking and general info. We had asked for a room near the lift which we got. Our room overlooked the street which could be noisy with the window open, but the DG worked a treat once closed. There was plenty of storage, although we did need more hangers. The room comes with a mini bar which came in very handy on the first night. There is also a safe (extra charge) and a hairdryer. We also hired towels for the roof terrace and jacuzzi (just a deposit needed). Our bathroom was really nice, with bath and shower. We like the little freebies, especially the toothbrush and shaving kit. The rooms are cleaned every day and everything was spotless throughout the holiday. We were even able to borrow and iron and ironing board for no cost. We stayed B&B, and breakfast was varied and plenty, with the usual continental array plus a few hot bits too. Staff were friendly and professional. There is no swimming pool, but there is a jacuzzi on the roof terrace with comfortable sunbeds and a few brollies. It was a nice place to end the day. The bar is open to the public and sells food and drink and has a couple of computers with internet access (charged), Our only moan was that it closed at 11pm so we had our night cap in the bar across the road, which also had a full size bowling alley.
The resort is lovely and quite sophisticated, not much for the kids but they didn't seem to mind. I particularly liked the shopping, not tacky but really well priced. I wished I'd come with more space in the suitcase! We did hire a car and enjoyed the neighbouring villages too, but parking in the resort is a nightmare, and if I went again I would forget hiring a car entirely. The resort is small enough anyway, and there's plenty to keep you busy for a week.
The beaches were lovely. (3 in all). All easily reachable from the Delfin, which was really in the heart of everything but still peaceful and relaxing. We had lots of lovely meals and a couple of dodgy ones. We learned to go for the smaller more established concerns, which worked for us. We resented paying 15 euro for 2 sunbeds and a brolly, so bought a good brolly for 10 euro and some rush mats, which did us proud for our 10 days. We gave them to a very pleased family on our last day, but they had saved us a fortune as well as allowing us to change beaches as we pleased. The beaches are mainly of corse sand but there are a few rocks and pebbles once your in the sea. I found my 'rocky shoes' useful. I would thoroughly recommend this resort to my (carless) friends as it is nothing like you imagine the costa brava to be. Trust me....."

Great hotel in a surprisingly lovely resort
"We have just returned from a 4 night break at the Delfin Hotel. We booked this independently, and selected it because of the good reviews. The hotel was in a great location; situated on a main road within Tossa, where there are numerous boutiques and gift shops. However, this did not mean that the hotel was noisy (although our room was at the opposite side of the hotel). Tossa quietens down between 11 pm and 12 midnight, so very little street noise after that.
As we were only on a short break, we booked on a half board basis; something we haven't done for years as I'm pretty fussy about what and where to eat. There was nothing to worry about in that respect at this hotel, however. Both breakfast and dinner were good with enough choices. Usual breakfast, with a choice of cereal, continental (cold meats, cheese, bread, pastries) and cooked bacon, eggs and sausage (not the same as when in England, but that's the point I think...). Dinner was great usually 4 or 5 main dishes to choose from and plentiful salads, pasta, etc ... and chips.
Hotel room was a great size, with a massive bed, a great bathroom and plenty of storage space. It was spotlessly clean, as was the rest of the hotel. Only slight negative point was that we had a very small balcony (only enough space for one chair a small table), but that wasn't a major issue for us. If you like a big balcony, ask for a room that overlooks the main street.
The roof top terrace was very nice indeed, and a nice retreat at the end of a day on the beach. The temperature of the jacuzzi was not too hot, so it was still very nice to relax in even when the sun was still hot.
Finally, a comment about the resort itself. Having never been, but heard of it for many years, I was under the impression that it would be a big, "blackpool in the sun" type resort (not that there's anything wrong with Blackpool if you like that kind of place - I don't mind a break there, but don't want that for a summer holiday abroad). It is, in fact, a very pretty and well maintained resort with a laid back feel and lots of restaurants and bars. It is has built up around an original village and therefore has lots of character and some interesting buildings.
All in all, a great hotel and a great resort. Don't book here, though, if you want a really lively holiday."

Good hotel just a little quiet!
"Overall nice hotel, but there were only 7 rooms occupied when we stayed. So no "award winning" buffet. Generally the food wasn't anything special with a very limited and repeated choice for dinner, this may have been due to the lack of guests. Rooms of a good standard and comfortable, bathroom clean and modern. Good position just a short stroll to the beach, restaurants and cafe's. Would stay again but in a busier time of the year and only bed and breakfast as there are plenty of local restaurants nearby offering a wider choice."

"Nice hotel. Good location.Tastefully decor in rooms. Food good ,lots of it. BUT.. BUT..So sorry to bring all this down!! Someone( must been the cleaner, no one else had the key card)
stole a 50 euro note from my draw. Sooo stupid of me not to rent
a safety box. Telling the reception this, wasen´t any help. No one
did anything. It made the rest of my stay very uncomfortable!!!
So if you stay here ,make sure to rent a safety box!!!!!
Realy such a shame, for a hotel like this. Not a good recomand."

Great Hotel with Great Staff
"First time in Tossa, me and my family spent very great time, nice weather, friendly people, safe, clean, nice beaches, very very good food and a great hotel, hotel delfin.
Very close to the beach, 3minutes in all, nice and clean rooms, friendly staff, solarium on the roof top very relaxing. Reception staff very helpfull especially Anita and Jean(if i remember the names correctly). Buffet breakfast served with champagne, all in all, nothing to complain. Hotel is situated in a pedestrian area too. It's easy with the bus service to go to Waterworld (1hr) or Barcelona 1hr 30min.
If I had the opportunity to go again to Tossa, for sure I will pack my things and go and I'll definetly stay at again at the Hotel Delfin."

Excellent Few Days
"We have just returned from a few days break at the Delfin Hotel in Tossa de Mar. The Delfin Hotel was excellent - spotlessly clean, comfortable rooms, very helpful reception and restaurant staff and lovely food. Only 2 drawbacks - firstly, parking was 800m away, but the car was in a locked area with CCTV(9 euros a day) and secondly there was no pool - but then the hotel was in the centre of Tossa de Mar and only a stones throw from the beach.
Tossa de Mar itself is a lovely place to wander around. The castle and lighthouse provide a good daytime or evening stroll - there is a small "train" that will take you to the top for a nominal charge. There you can enjoy a coffee and take in the views. The pedestrian streets of Tossa de Mar are lined with some lovely shops but beware the people on scooters - it may look pedestrianised but this obviously doesn't mean the same over there.
We were quite wary since this was a part of Spain we had not visited before and were worried that Tossa de Mar was like it's neighbour Lorret de Mar but the two couldn't be any more different. I'm sure we would return and if we did we would certainly return to the Delfin."

Hotel Delfin & Tossa de Mar
"We stayed at this hotel for a week at the end of April. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff, especially the lady on reception who spoke excellent english, very friendly and helpful (she even gave us a big hug when were we leaving!). Very close to the beach, which is cleaned every night.
We were returning to Tossa de Mar after 46 years, having spent our honeymoon there, and although there were lots of changes the area was still as beautiful and quaint as we remembered. Not the place if you are looking for a wild holiday but it you like old buildings and cobbles streets, Tossa de Mar is a must."
