Odissea Park Apartaments
11 Traveller reviews from Holiday Watchdog
A Hellish Odyssey
"Having read the excellent reviews of this hotel, we booked an apartment in this hotel for 6 nights. However, upon arrival, we found that there was no electric power in our apartment, and telephone was not working either. We complained and asked for another apartment, but were told that the hotel was full. We were also told that because it was Saturday, and repairmen don't work on weekends, power and phone service wouldn't be restored until Monday at the earliest. We then asked the manager for a refund, but he refused, saying that the reserved apartment was available to us.
There was a lot of noise from the hotel next door and from the highway and the railway only a few feet away. The walls were so thin that we could hear our neighbors using their toilet. There were almost no utensils in the kitchenette. The receptionists were rude and incompetent, with poor English language skills. After one night in this hell hole we cancelled our reservation and moved to a much more expensive hotel.
The bottom line: if you want to ruin your vacation, Odissea Park is waiting for you."

Great Value!! Great Appartments!!
"Stayed in these appartments for one week, 13th - 20th sept so it was low season but still fab!!
APPARTMENTS - spacious and clean! balcony was massive compared to other hotels and both the bedroom and main room have doors leading to it! everything was new and to have electricity on you had to use the same card as for the door. no plug in our sink, but shower is big, no bath!
STAFF - staff were extremly friendly. bar staff are cheerfull most of the time, look out for willy the bar tender! hes great but obssessed with putting beer mats under ya drinks!
LOCATION - its not on the beach, which is what my travel company said! 5 minute walk to the beach, have to go under a bridge to get there. Santa Susanna itself is quiet BUT if you walk straight down the main road (left if you come out the appartments) you can walk straight into malgrat de mar.
POOL - pool area is small, wouldnt like to have been there in high season as simply would not be enough sun loungers or room!! the pool is the same depth throughout, 1.2 metres, and theres a jacuzzi part with 2 waterfall things that you can turn on yourself.
SUPERMARKET - as you look out of reception, across the grassy land theres a grey builiding called santa susanna center (or something like that) in there is a massive supermarket and its really cheap! same we found it only a few days before we left!!
Overall these are great appartments!"

"Just home from these apartments, as they are recently built they are great, very spacious and well equipped, although we did need a tin opener and a bottle opener as they were not supplied,
the internet did not work in our room but there is a couple of internet cafes along the front (look for the @ sign) we were on the first floor where the pool is, as previous travellers advise go to smaller supermarket shops in side streets for cheaper deals, the one under apartments bit sparse and expensive, geat english pubs in one street doing good deals on food, none of them take credit card tho, only cash but main street cafes take card but can be expensive. Nice area with a market on a tuesday along the street, and stalls out every night. Flat area for walking and a train goes around the raods into the mountains, that is worth doing for the views. I found one of the reception ladies fabu;ous and very helpful, leant me her phone when my credit was out! It is not possible to buy credit for pay as you go phones so make sure you have plenty b4 u go! we got the shuttle prebooked on line, return to the the airport, cost 60 pounds for the four of us but made life easier with the kids, otherwise would have got the train down. You won't be disappointed with these apartments, look for deals on Expedia, we got them for 29 pound a night! contact me if u need more info."

first class, an absolute bargain!
"These apartments were really good and cannot be faulted at all by us!
The rooms were spotless, as was the pool and all public areas.
The staff were really friendly with the receptionist speaking 5 languages fluently. The room rate was great and the food and drink prices were very reasonable for super quality.
Santa susanna itself was not graet but enough there for a cheap sunshine break, with loads to do if you travel a few miles in either direction. Barcelona in the train, is an hour away and only a few euros. The station is a two minute walk."

superb ultra modern apartments
"what can i say, superb.. ultra modern, ultra clean. The staff are so friendly and extremely helpful.
2 for 1 drinks every night 8.30 till 10.00. 4 breezers 2 pints lager,
2 large coffee and brandy for only 12 euro.
train station only a short walk, 1 hour to Barcelona, the all day bus tour is a must.
For food try the Drunken Duck, just 2 minutes walk from the apartments, if you want Sunday lunch book the day before, you wont be dissapointed.
If your going to Santa Susana the oddisea is the place to stay,
it is great value for money,
Have a nice holiday !"

Loved Odissea Park!
"I would higlhy recommend these apartments, new and spacious (we had a room on the first floor which had a balcony as big as the whole flat). Bathroom is big, in particular the shower...enough to fit two people. Kitchen is new and you have everything you need to cook.
On the first floor there is a bar where you can eat, and the swimming pool (it's not big but few people were there, and in reality I never stayed there because I prefer the sea), from where there is also another entrance to the building.
On ground floor you find the reception - girls were not very helpful - and in the basement there is a wash machine which costs 6 euros.
They told us that parking would cost 15 euros per day, but there is no need to pay because 400 mt before the hotel, on the right, there is a big free parking lot.
it's not easy to find Odissea because on the main street you don't notice it: you only see a shooping center, in reality the hotel is on top of that. If you are using a Gps in order to arrive at the reception door, you have to put : avenida Marina (it's a one way street - where you also find the the free parking) and it's parallel to the main street - avinguda del mar - where all the shops are .
Odissea park is not directly on the beach, you have to cross a road and the railway, there are some underway to reach it.
Beach was nice, but we preferred the one in Calella, 10 minutes driving from Santa Susanna.
(We rent a car therefore I can not help you with buses and trains.)
Sea water was really cold and it's immediately deep, therefore not ideal for children or elderly people.
Santa Susanna is a small town full of restaurants and shops. If you walk following the main street you reach Malgrat del Mar, they are attached."

"Oddissea Park Apartments are clean, modern and spacious. As you would expect with a newly opened block of apartments everything is new, modern and bright. Located next door to Don Angel they are easy to miss. Turn right out of the train station and walk about 200 yds, you will find the apartments on top of a shopping complex called Galeries Pins. The reception is on the ground floor at the back and the pool and snackbar are on the first floor at the front. Parking is provided. Reception staff are courteous and efficient, bar staff are friendly and happy. They have 2 for 1 on drinks between 7 and 10pm. Kitchens include the minimum amount of crockery and cutlery (no cork screw) but you do get a kettle, toaster, microwave, oven and two ring hob. All apartments have air conditioning and large slimline flat screen TVs. Bathrooms have no bath but instead a double shower cubicle with a really powerful shower. There is a large supermarket about 5 minutes walk to the rear which is much cheaper than anything on the front. The pool is small with not much space for sunbeds but the beach is very close. All in all we found these apartments fantastic value for money."

"just got back june 5th, really impressed with the brand new and very modern appartments. all the staff very friendly from the day you arrive to the day you leave.had a room with two bed rooms both en suite two sofa beds ,free tv with bbc1 and itv on for the few rainy days we had and internet for a small charge for 24 hours.basic kitchen but didnt use it anyway.bar pretty good on prices for food and drinks, also two for one every night. only bad thing was no entertainment for children except for one pool table which doubled in price from 1 to 2euros in a day and got no explanation why. i would recomend these appartments to anyone but snap it up quick because i dont think they will stay cheap for long."

"We have just returned from a 11 nt stay at the oddisea park, must admit a bit apprehensive with it being a new build and no reviews available, these fears were unfounded. First problem was actually finding the building as it doesn't have a big name sign like the others so do admit to driving past it numerous times. You'll find it between the Don Angel & aquamarina Hotels. To get to the car park & reception which are at the back, you have to drive along the prom until you get to the mercury hotel then turn right then right again and drive along until you hit the car park/apartments. We were not charged to use the car park. Check in was quick and easy, staff very pleasant. We booked a 2bed apartment and were impressed. both bedrooms were on-suite own which was unexpected, Powershower was fantastic! Room had a total of 4 patio doors which lead onto 2 seperate veranda's, one with table & chairs & the other with 2 sun loungers. Both totally private due to the design and complete sun traps. Kitchen as expected v basic, with 2 hotplates, mircowave, kettle & toaster. Don't forget to pack a tinopener & corksrew. The large carrefour supermarket is only 5 minutes walk away, loads cheaper than the local shops. Pool area not very large but no complaints. Bar did 241 on drinks between 8.30-10 every night. Towels changed every other day, bedding weekly. we got an extra key with no problems. Would recommend staying here, shops/bars/beach etc on doorstep. shame weather wasn't as great!!"

Language skills and food in Santa Susanna Area
"The hotel is OK, rooms are suitable for a holiday week. But the general problem, not unique for this hotel, is the lack of knowledge in English, and I´m not an englishman myself, so at this point I'm not biased. Even the most simple request takes a lot of energy to process, be it regarding what kind of meat that is on my plate or whether or not it's possible to add or deduct something from a meal order. They just don't get it! Or is it so that staff in restaurants etc. are racists? This country must have the best possibilities for vegetables and fruits, and what do they offer: meat that looks bleached, tomatoes with no colour, and fries and fries and fries. Compare to Greece, where they seems to be proud to offer their local specialities, even to tourists! What is their presumptions? That we can't judge because of lack of knowledge whether the food served is crap or not? It's a tragedy really: if just they could do the best they can i all client and selling situation they would have sold the double, triple or even quadruple. Why don't they want to please us?"
