don't do it ,would have liked to leave a minus rating
"Firstly I was bumped here after the more mar over booked.well we arrived late, booked in and asked about food,as in several hotels they have saved a salad from the buffet for late arrivals,no such luck, asked where we might get food and was directed to a nearby cafe,no food, went into town and found a pizza place.had asked for a sea view, told we had a pool view, see photo, went don to breakfast, first hotel not to eggs, show chef ,I'm told it's said Chou, was limited to pouring liquid onto a hotplate, and never much more than this, all three meals,no "show"stuff, meats and fish generally under cooked, salad bar had tomatoes at breakfast but not at dinner or tea ?
meals are based around pork,in Shepard pie ,in stews, breaded ,battered,or nearly cooked on the hotplate.
drinks in the food hall about 5-15 times the price of two local shops outside the hotel,in hotel 0.5 liters of water â¬1.5 ,out side 0.39cents for 1.5 liters?,Coke â¬2 outside 39-45 cents, first couple of days reluctant to take our own in given restrictions imposed at other hotels, but hoards of kids had no concerns and covered the tables withe the cheaper drinks,so we did too.and as for the kids allowed to run riot up and down the hall, woken by them at 2am,called reception who sent up the guard half an hour later to wake us again to tell us the kids has gone to the disco, strangely at 04.30 they returned, knowing which door to kick/and smack down the door handle, some guard eh?
safe in room is â¬19 a week, plus 10 deposit, feels like you have been robbed before you start.
another little trick the hotel employs is having touring buses pull up at dinner, then telling hotel guests the would have to wait for a table ?
anyone considering going after this,if you go all inclusive and go down to the pool, and i do mean don, some 60-75 m below the hotel level, you will find the pool bar closed, never mined,up the mountain of stairs to the terrace bar, also closed,or the pub at low level, closed,so its up the second lot of stairs, maybe another 10m or so,but the sign says no wet feet,no bare feet, all to get two drinks which you will need to get back to the pool.
i saw no way of getting down to the pool in a wheelchair or an easy route for a pushchair.
this hotel is a good twenty minutes walk from the coast, and about 100-150m downhill, which translates to a quite steep return.
town center is owned by Asian traders, who will try and sell you anything you don't want and if you do want something barter.
plus side air con was good up to the last two nights, strangely the hottest two days, and night but decided to turn it off?
air con in the food hall was really working as they had a leak near the food grill, but put a horse type blanket on the floor and a bucket, near, but not under the drip ?
you have been warned, cold food,warm/hot rooms and public areas, mile plus to the beach, same again the other way to town, and pork with everything, never ever again, even heard teenagers say that it was worse that a B&B in turkey, never been, but i will be next year. "

Don't waste your money!
"Was concerned going here after reading most recent reviews and was right to be. Had booked a 1 bed apt based on pictures on website. Don't know where they get the pictures from as they are nothing like what you walk into. Furniture in lounge is like something from your granny's house from the 1920s. Holes in walls. Door and door frame in bathroom were rotting. Cooker extractor was thick with black grime and looked like it had never been cleaned. Could have turned a blind eye to all of this if it wasn't for the noise in hotel. Used by lots of foreign young students who have no consideration for the amount of noise they are making no matter what time of night. After 3 nights of no sleep because of furniture in room above been moved around all night long for 3 nights of no sleep went to reception to be asked to move to top floor so would have no-one above us waking us up. Was told could not be moved there as all apartments were on 3rd floor. Advised reception to move me to a hotel room because state of furniture in lounge we were not really losing anything. Again was told could not be done as hotel was full. I asked to then speak to the manager to arrange a refund and would move hotels. Was then told if I came back next day they could move me. Amazing how the mention of "refund" suddenly changes peoples attitudes!"

DON'T LISTEN TO THE OTHER REVIEWS!! THIS HOTEL IS NICE!
"Upon arrival, we were a bit apprehensive about the other reviews that we had read about the Hotel Samba. As every review passed, we were more and more anxious. When we got to the hotel we were greeted by a nice receptionist who gave us our bands and our keys. The reviews slated the staff saying they were rude and pretencious but this was further from the truth. We were on the 4th floor and had a nice view of the pool. The room was clean. The rooms were cleaned every day and towels are provided every day but only if you put the towel on the floor. The snacks aren't up to scratch but they are eddible. The burgers and hotdogs aren't that good but there are also free crisps which were very nice. The breakfast wasn't the best breakfast I have ever had but it just about made do. Bacon was avalable every day along with something that i can only describe as 'Chicken Nuggets'. There was sausage every 2 days but never fried eggs. There are boiled eggs but we didn't eat them. There is a show chef on display who cooks different things every day. This ranged from pancakes to omelets which were very nice. There are also a good range of continental items to choose from. Lunch is also very nice. There is cooked food from rice dishes, to battered pork to fish. The show chef cooked a lot of fish but some days he cooked pork chops and chicken breast. The evening meal was also quite nice. Every 2 nights, there were theme nights. This ranged from Oriental, to Mexican to Spanish. The Mexican night is easily the best meal we had. We had Fajitas and the were tortilla chips and guacomole. The drinks were nice as well but there was a really annoying drawback!!!!! You could only get one drink and you had to bring the glass back so you only had as many drinks on the table as you did people on the table. Queues were big in the night bar and when your only getting one drink, your going to find yourself queuing for quite a lot of time! There was a clever trick someone did. He asked for a 'Lager' and when it was handed to him he said " No, i asked for a pina colada, but i might aswell take the lager off your hands!!" GENIOUS! There is plenty of places to have a laugh and I don't know how you could possibly stay bored. The pool area is nice but beware of the sunbed dash at 10 SHARP! Overall, we enjoyed this hotel but we wouldn't go back. Nothing to do with the hotel, but because we have already got everything out of Lloret that we can possibly get. Give it a try if you want a nice cheap holiday with friendly staff and other holiday makers. Take care, :)"

"Where do i start, Room very basic and dated, bar wouldn't take card payments and no snacks on offer, pool open 10 to 6pm daily then locked, entertainment was only a stage show from 9pm nothing before and finished by half 11, music off and bar closed! The pub downstairs only open til half 12 too! No other english there when we were so my kids bored as no staff to entertain them day or night, up a Big hill. So not good for people with mobility problems like me, did ask for flat.Beach is small sharp shingle not sand. Also hotel VERY noisy at night due to teenagers running about till 3am. Only plus i can tell you is the Orient Express on the sea front, English speaking big portions very nice place to eat. All in all not a good place unless your able bodied, young and heavy sleeper with a lot of cash!! "

Samba very basic
"Stayed at this hotel APRIL 24TH TO 8TH OF MAY 2012.The hotel looks fine, nice swimming pool, reception area, entertainment better than average.we went s/c but the living room was appaling, not very clean and the furniture was about to collapse, well dated, only good thing was the tv.bedroom was ok.Noise no proper sleep in 14 nights, noise came from the next rooms either side or the room above, walls so thin you could hear everymove.plus noise from the road.TO sum it up,budget ok for young people who are out all night, and sleep all day, that must be the best time to sleep in this hotel.would not go near the place again, its cheap at the end of the day ,you get what you pay for."

very very nice hotel, great holiday atmosphere!!
"i thought this hotel was fab, i am 18 and i went to Lloret De Mar, Hotel Samba with my 3 friends. i thought the hotel staff were very pleasant and welcoming, and the hotel its self is very nice, the pool area is very big and spacious, the hotel has a very good atmosphere, we were on floor 5 and our balcony was facing down to the street and the hotel opposite which was bolero park, and your balcony lights go off at about 11 - 12pm and the security man stands down below, and it was funny watching him flash his torch up at balcony's if he herd to much noise, (he's not that pleasant) he makes more noise when he shouts up. some comments say that the food is very boring and average, but in fact i thought the food was excellent they had a wide variety of choice like, salads, olives, all kinds of fresh fruit and vegetable cous cous, Spanish chirizo, steak, chips, and a big selection of cakes and sweets, also they have themed meals, so one night it might be Mexican food, then Chinese food. also when the breakfast or lunch is over in the bar (only for all-inclusive) there are snacks on all day. so there you have it trust me i am a very picky person, but this hotel is absolutely great ."

"I have just returned from a 4 day self catering holiday for a hen party of 16 people. Regardless that we were a hen party we are a respectable group of adults who were treated with utter disgust. The rooms were appalling not one of our three rooms had a door that was not damaged. The rooms themselves were dirty and completely dated. The kitchen was a health hazard not to mention the bathroom ceiling that was falling in with large chunks of plaster missing which was peeling away and hanging down. The shower was held on by one screw to the wall which had to be pushed back in each time it was used. The large crack which was down the dividing wall of the room looked like major structural damage. One of the rooms had such a damaged door that it had to be pushed with great force to even get in. Upon arrival one of the toilets were not working and we had to ask for someone to fix it which was greeted with rude and moody staff as if we were somehow inconsiderate that we had just arrived and had the cheek to ask for the toilet to be fixed as it would not flush and was blocked.
On the second night we had no electric to our rooms and as it was dark we could not see. We called reception to be hung up on twice, once left on hold and ignored and for another time to be told they didn't know anything about it. After going down to reception to tell them we could not even see in our rooms to avoid walking into the awful furniture we were told that "they were busy". We were eventually given a key to another room to use after we had to suggest this ourselves and the staff were the most rude people I have EVER met and denied hanging up the phone. We went to the sixth floor room to use the bathroom and the electric also cut out there.
The security staff man was an aggressive bully and we witnessed him push a young English boy in the face un provoked.
All in all the pool itself was very nice although the gates are closed and you are kicked out at 6pm each day whilst the vast amount of German queue for feeding time at the all inclusive dining hall. It seemed that all of the other floors and reception excluding our floor which was the third were very nice.
This hotel does not cater for English and I would go as far as saying that the English were disliked by the staff."

dont waste your money
"we used this hotel at the very start of the season, 28 lads on a stag do. we were told to keep the noise down after 11pm at nite, on the morning we arrived and we did that, we were quiet and respectful to everyone there. After the first nite we didnt really use the hotel for anything bar sleeping, this was due to the staff being ignorant, unhelpful, and down rite rood to english people. The food was catered purely towards the spanish, and was like feeding time at the zoo. So a waste of money if like us you go half board. The only good thing about this hotel is its quiet after 11pm. really this hotel should not be offered to english people"

this is goodbye not just adios!
"What a truly mind blowingly horrendous experience!
A four day break, just the two of us to celebrate our first wedding anniversary.
It was so very awful it was funny.
We were fully inclusive....yes well, the dining room was more like feeding time at the local geriatric hospital. The food is labelled with little pictures, even then you can't tell beef from chicken. Do not eat the food, it is the most disgusting slop. All I could keep down was an omelette.
Thank heaven for the 'all you can eat' chinese over the road, we sort of moved in there!
The staff were rude, they must have some awful times with British all inclusives before as we were tra=eated like criminals, even though I refused to wear the dreaded wrist band.
Not an experience I would ever repeat or wish on anyone but perhaps my very worst enemy.

Hotel from hell
"Having been to 12-14 hotels along the coast from callea to tossa this has to be the worst i have ever stayed in.only thing i rated was the cleaners as hotel was spotless and rooms cleaned every day with fresh towels.the food was ok but the the same every day, most people were putting it in micowave as lukewarm after 3 days of it i ate out rest of the week, hotel in need of updating as 80s dated, all inc drinks queue was 15-20 deep, with 2 other bar men not serving unless paying customers, very poor intertainment which was recorded music,no flashing lights,no live singers, acts.bingo every night 1 game thats it?,overall tired hotel mopping up the cheap markett for basement price hotels, better off booking h-top."

A Fine Hotel
"Not sure which hotel some of these reviewers (complainers/moaners) went to, but it could NOT have been The Samba Hotel.
We were there for 10 days from 20th September 2010 and were extremely pleased with our choice.
The entire hotel was very clean, our room cleaned efficiently, fresh towels each day, fresh bedding every three days.
Free unlimited WiFi Hotspot!!
Food was very good indeed, always a good choice on the buffet, various salads, cheeses, meat dishes, chips etc, also each day a different speciality cooked in front of you. A very good choice of fresh fruit, cakes, pastries, jellies, yogurts and ice cream.
Red, white and rose wine, beer, soft drinks, sparkling water at meal times.
I would be interested to know what sort of food some of these reviewers (complainers/moaners)eat at home! Cordon Bleau perhaps or maybe Haute Cuisine!! I think not, more likely to be chip butties and sausages!!
We holiday 2/3 times a year and have visited many countries including USA, most of Europe, North and East Africa etc. We have stayed in a range of hotels from 5 star to 3 star. We have also been on four cruises, one of which was graded 6 star.
WE CAN SAY THAT THE SAMBA HOTEL HAS NOTHING TO BE ASHAMED OF AND HAS PLENTY TO BE PROUD OF."
