"I read the reviews before hand about spanish and germans in thier hundreds at the hotel. Yes there were alot of continentals there! But hey it is Spain, to be honest they wernt that noisy.
My biggest gripe was not the food, that was quite good - not Al a Carte, but very edable, and the choice was good. It wasnt the room, basic yes, but clean and tidy, and comftable. It wasnt the choice of 3 swimming pools, which were very good, and came with pool side snacks, and bars, good choice and availabilty of sun loungers. It wasnt the poor entertainment, which was poor, but many hotel entertainment programmes are.
My biggest gripe and complaint was the staff. They were border line rude and had an attitude as if they were doing you a favour, Im sorry but Im paying their wages. Money and the customer is king. Even the thomson tour rep 'Simon', encouraged us to be overly polite to the staff, as if not to upset them. Im all for being polite, but if someone is rude to me, I am the same to them.
Also we were all inclusive and they insisted on giving us little plastic cups even in the bar area, which was a bit demening, Im an adult and I like my drinks in a glass. By the pool plastic good, in the bar plastic bad. You were singled out because you were all inclusive.
So food good, room ok, pools great, entertainment poor, staff dreadful - apart from one bar man at the pool bar, which was polite, the rest need to have lessons off him!"

"This hotel is not as advertised. Before going on the holiday with my boyfriend i had read the reviews but refused to believe all the complaints about noisy germans and spanish. Man was i wrong. From the moment we arrived we knew we would have problems. Apert from two other couples, who had travelled along with us, we were the only english speaking people in the whole hotel-probably the whole of costa brava. Nothig suited us-the food was terrible-not only in the hotel-but in the town aswell. Only one english pub and as wer are irish this was the next best thing. Breakfast in the morning consisted of cereal wit SWEET milk or a bread roll. We paid for half board but only ate the food on one morning. I would not recommend this holiday to anyone who's first language is english. It was just like being stuck in the middle of 300 german teenagers during spring break. Never again!!!"

Olympic Park What Can I Say....
"Well firs of all i would like to mention the noisy Germans and French, Very noisy playing loud music all night,im 20 so i wasnt that bothered at first but it went on all night, banging on doors, shouting and they never leave the hotel as i think most of them get all inclusive. The food was okish the salad and chips that is we didnt know what meat we was eating it was such a funny colour. not many kids there so i wouldnt call it a famiy place. Staff look at you funny. Would not recomend this hotel at all. Lloret was nice the best places to go would be The Queen Vic and RockerFellers."

Ok for a base
"This hotel is NOT for people who want a quiet get-away. Full of noisy French and German tourists who seem to enjoy slamming doors. Corridors are very dark and depressing looking - I took a photo of it and everyone joked that it looked like a prison! Prices in bars very expensive. Staff are not at all friendly and entertainment is dire. Food is okay, nothing to rave about, although the hotel's bottled water is very nice. Make sure you get yourself down to breakfast and dinner early or you'll be waiting forever for a table to free up. Little pub round the corner, Eurostar pub, owned by a lovely couple Jose and Christine. Very pleasant and welcoming - which is a breath of fresh air! Hotel ideal if you're just needing a place to sleep, in walking distance of Lloret's beach. "

"i have given this hotel a nine out of ten, my reasons for this are simple, we booking another hotel (royal star 4*) when my travel agent told my that i had been down graded to a 3* you could say i was a bit angry, but i was soon happy when i was there, yes, there was a few germans round the hotel - im sorry but is that not allowed?? are we in spain here or england!!?? i wanted to leave my comment about the entertainment! not the best thing i have seen, but the team tryed very hard to cater for everyone, say one thing i english and one thing in german. the food at the hotel was fine, there was always something to eat. the other two hotel are great for meeting other couple, even it you fancy a chage from the same bar at the hotel for one night, i think this hotel is value for money and i would go back.
the only thing that put me off was the distance to the beach (about a 10 min walk) i know its pettie but my first choice (royal star) was right on the beach front.
apart from that great hotel great holiday thank you Olympic !!!

"I stayed at the olympic with my family, two sons 17 & 13, myself and my partner.
The hotel was very nice, the staff are very nice, lots to see and do.
Plenty of swimming pools to choose from as you are on a complex with the hotels sister hotels, Olymic Suites, Olympic Gardens and Spa. they are all very clean and well presented. They put on entertainment most of the day as well as night, always something going on. we had a wonderful week at the Olympic Park! our only problem was our tour operator!!! Thomson, we didnt see or hear from anyone from Thomson the whole seven days we were there! and no explanation given either. we booked our trips with another company, and they are cheaper!!! Thomson Dumped us at the hotel, in the middle of the road, gone midnight, nobody to take us into the hotel to book us in, and no help from the bus driver taking the cases off the coach. so as long as you are not going with them you will have a fab time!!! " We are a family of 5 consisting of mum,dad (in late 30's) and children aged 18,14 & 7 yrs staying for 10 nights. After a few hours of being there we soon realised that we were the minority of English here, and yes the hotel does cater mainly for the Germans etc..who may I also add are very rude and definately have no manners whatsoever. The nightly entertainment also does not cater for English guests therefore you cannot join in as you are totally bewildered as to what is going on, same goes for the kids clubs (no English is spoken whatsoever). Some of the bar staff were rude and completely ignored the fact on one occasion that my husband was stood at the bar waiting to be served and the bar man continued to serve other foreign speaking guests until my hubby made a statement regarding this fact, he was then served but the bar attendant made it very clear that he was not happy to serve us and proceeding in almost slamming his till drawer through the other side of the wall. Towels and bedding were changed on a daily basis and were all clean. Rooms were clean but a little tired looking for a 4 star. Food was in abundance and ok on some days, breakfast was the best as we had bacon, sausage, eggs, beans and toast etc...and we knew what we were eating. On another occasion we bought a bottle of lager from the restaraunt at dinner and as the lager was quite strong we took the bottle to 1 of the bars also within the hotel to ask for some lime. The chief bar tender advised the guy about to serve us not to as we had not purchased it there. We eventually got the lime after yet again another fuss, the guy serving us was clearly embarassed that his boss had made this uncalled for scene and apologised to us out of his bosses earshot. Some of the staff were very hospitable and friendly may I also add. The beach is shingle as advised in the brochure and is also very overcrowded with groups of friends and is almost impossible to find somewhere to sit and relax, also I wouldnt let my youngest venture into the sea without holding my hand due to the sudden drop from the beach into the sea. We went on a boat trip to St Christiana beach which is sand and you can walk out quite far before the sea goes above your knees.
Overall we made the most of the holiday but I dont think that we would be returning to this hotel or Lloret even (although observing other hotels in the area this one did appear to be the best !!). We were later advised that Tossa De Mar is a much more accomodating and attractive resort."

" This hotel did not have the standards of a three star accommodation. The room we had was a family room which was supposed to accommodate two adults and two children, the room was cramped and did not have enough space for the four of us. The balcony was very small with only two chairs and was very unclean we often found ants crawling all over the place which put us of hanging our washing out. Also the cleaners never changed the sheets and while we were there and we often found towels which had not been cleaned properly. The hotel did not provide basic three star standard requirements like hair dryer in your room and no ironing facilities and there was a charge for the safe. The hotel was so busy and we often found ourselves queuing for food and drinks. The staff did not really take your complaints on board due to the fact they were just too busy. The food was ok but repetitive and on a few occasions the meat looked uncooked. The snacks were appalling and we often found that food from dinner the night before was being served as snacks. "

"My family and I spent two weeks at the Olympic park Hotel and we thought it was great. The food was excellent so much variety.Everyone was so friendly and helpful .The rooms were cleaned every day and fresh towels put out for you.The hotel grounds were lovely and well kept, great pools of which there were many. The complex is made up of four hotels so the facilities were shared, there were always plenty of sunbeds even after the folks with their towels have been.I would recomend this hotel to family and friends, it was a great base for a great resort."
