I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this hotel!
"First of all...Lloret de Mar is a really lovely place and if u are considering going u really should...just dont stay at this hell hole dump of a hotel! i have never seen a more disgusting place in all my living life! On our arrival we were dropped off on the main road with no sign of our hotel? we hadnt a clue where we were at, bus driver however gave us some very brief directions, he hadnt a clue where it was. There were roadworks and footpath repairs going on, so wheeling suitcases up stoney side roads wasnt the best of fun. Eventually found the hotel after asking a police office. The minute me and boyfriend saw the hotel we knew it was a dump! The first room we were given had 2 single beds joined together, a window that looked at another dirty building and nowhere to put our suitcases! to be honest I sat down and cried, thats how bad it was. We went straight down to reception and were moved to a bigger room on the bottom floor. This room was very spacious and had a really lovely bathroom with a jacuzi bath, but the walls had creepy crawlys all over them, my bf pulled our "camp beds" out from the wall every day lol At about half 8 every morning we could here someone in the room above in their jacuzi and in another room someone peeing!! we had no balcony, just a sliding door with 2 chairs sitting outside it, it was like an alley way of sum sort? lol Lloret de mar is such a lovely place, and if u go, i recommend u eat in a restaurant called the orient express! it is run by an english family, who were outstanding! my bf got very badly burnt and they took us to the hospital, they made are holiday a whole lot brighter! we ate here every day for bfast and dinner, the food in the hotel is just poisioning! i wouldnt feed it to a dog! Another thing in the hotel was that there was one hairdryer...for the ENTIRE place! so if ur silly enough to stay here take ur own lol Im not a fussy person, as long as a place is clean and acceptable then im happy, hotel cleopatra was neither of these, i would rather have stayed in a tent on the beach! lol Dont ever book with sun 4 u holidays either, they are useless, we spent days ringing them trying to get swithced hotels, not once did they answer, i came home to a phone bill of £80, just glad i wasnt dying! if any1 wants to email me about this then u can no probs: [email protected]"

This hotel has been recently refurbished...
"This hotel has been recently refurbished- unfortunately it must have all been spent on the reception area: which will lure you into a false sense of security. The bedroom was very basic with dated furniture, a TV that did not work, the bed sheets had blood stains on them and the balcony was not straight and wobbled if you touched the railings. The Bathroom wasnt much better and had graffitti on the wall that was dated from 2004! The view was of the pool which was scruffy, and constantly full off drunken youth groups and stag groups. The noise from the pool went on till 2AM every morning with no effort from the staff to eradicate this behaviour, in fact the security guard/ night porters just shrugged when we complained.
After our 2nd night at this hotel we asked to move rooms as the surrounding rooms were having drunken/ drugged parties till all hours of the morning. The 1 helpful staff (British Receptionist) moved us to another room in another building that didnt overlook the pool, but warned us it hadnt been cleaned yet but would get done later in the day. So, at 8AM we moved to this room and left for the day. When we returned (10 hours later) it hadnt been cleaned and the cleaners had gone home. So as there were feaces on the bathroom floor; we got moved again. To a room that was clean..er but overlooked another part of the hotel, with a courtyard which I presume people had used as a toilet from ther windows! We closed the curtains and got some sleep, looking forward to our flight home the next day.
The location of the hotel is great as it is central in Lloret and not far from the beach. The only problem is your transfer will drop you off a few streets away which can be quite intimadating if you do not know were you are going; especially at night.
This hotel should only be visited by people looking for boozy holidays, who want the cheapest accomodation available as they are planning to be drunk for their whole stay at the hotel. So, only go if you are youth/ college group/ stag/ hen doo and do not mind be up to all hours of the morning and need no other comforts other than alcohol!!
Lloret itself is a bit nicer, and the beach is very clean. Think Blackpool and your almost there (apart from the beach)
I have scored this hotel as a 1, as 0 is not an option so lets say the one is purely for its location!"

"Me and my father stayed at this hotel whilst on a weekend away for sporting reasons. It was a very nice hotel and well worth 3 *. Food was adequate, Entertainment good but rather loud but we didnt go to bed before it finished anyway. Room was fine, towels and linen replaced daily and bathroom was roomy. balcony overlooking the street, managed to lose 2 towels but thats my own fault. Drinks very good and only a stones throw from centre of town and beach. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. And also i recomment sports bar behind Burger King on the main strip.
Going back to lloret in april but stpping at alexis as i like to try different hotels....
Just remember a holiday is what you make it!!!!"

"We arrived at Lloret de Mar at 7 pm on the 6th October, we were dumped at a bus station and told to cross over road and it was 3 streets down. Well it was like a maze, luckily we asked a woman if she knew where the Cleopatra hotel was and she was the receptionist who worked there she was english and friendly.
We had a shock with the room, there was just beds, built in wardrobe and little room for walking round. The balcony view we had was a building with a crane and there was also a red and white barrier tape across it, when we asked about this tape their answer was donât know how it got there. The bathroom we had to hold the shower head up with your hand and then try to shower. Asked for another room which they moved us to, same view, bigger bathroom but had to bend legs to sit in the bath.
The food wasnât up to much either. There was no entertainment what so ever anywhere only bars with music and the beach is all gravel and big slopes to go into the sea. Very hard when trying to get out.
I will never go there again. Found only one good restaurant which cost between 27 and 30 euros and you get pestered a lot when trying to look round the shops. Would never take young children there either.

"Wonderful, would go again, Food was actually good, healthy diet as we kept mostly to the salads and fruit.
Rooms were small but clean, the staff were friendly and helpful.
The only thing that let the holiday down was the transfer company not collecting us and having to pay for a taxi to the airport. Company insisted that we should have confirmed booking but I had all my issued paperwork and it was not mentioned.
The Airport was a nightmare as several men rushed the lift as the doors were closing and we spent 20 minutes stuck between floors, the airport staff didn't even check we were OK - not good if you have asthma!"

Loved the place
"We arrived late afternoon after dropping lots of people off at nearby resort, eventually arrived at destination. Bus driver didn't speak english and had to find hotel via nearby police station personel. On first site of reception area and bar we noticed that it was very pleasant on the eye and reception staff were more than helpfull. I travelled with my partner and a 8 month old baby, they made provision of a travel cot within the first 5 minutes of our stay. Room was clean and well maintaned although not the biggest although balcony made up for this. Bathroom was small and had a jacuzzi although it might have been good had it not been for the bad smell it gave once turned on. Meals were good although quite repetative, but the variation of deserts made up for this. Typically for a full board hotel drinks were available only in the morning but this was not a problem. Staff were very friendly and tried their best to accomodate our needs although english was limited luckily my partner spoke a little spanish. Bald headed waiter/bar staff was a little unpleasant never smiled. All in all we had a pleasant stay and would definately return. Good value for money, just ensure you pick the right transfer company from the airport (resorthoppa go to Tossa first then the resort which takes a while)"

where were the english
"I have only been back from the cleopatra a few days and wish i was back there now! if your wanting a calm relaxing holiday then i wouldnt bother. the hotel is really noisy but in our case it didnt matter because it was us making all the noise! haha! the food was rubbish but there was plenty of restaurants and bars cheap enough to go to. The pool area was great the swimming pool was abit cold but with sunburn it is great to dive into. the jacuzi and sauna were brilliant, very relaxing. The rooms are also great ours was very big and had a full size corner jacuzi in it and we made our own foam party in that 1! the beach was nice but the sand was really gritty and full of pepples. overall we really enjoyed our stay but i wouldbt advise coming if you wanted a quiet holiday but for young people it is ideal and really cheap.
I would probly go bak in main season though there were hardly any english and it was quite hard to have converstaions with french and dutch!!!"

"We asked for a double room to find out it was 2 single beds pushed together, the room was dirty and too noisy, had to put air conditioning on to try and drown out noise on a night, but it didn't work.
Worst holiday we ever had in our lives. We had no sleep for 2 weeks, and the food was not very nice at all, it cost us another £450 to eat at the Orient Express. We would never ever go again, the best bit of holiday was getting back on the plane to come home."

Value for money
"Hey all, we (couple 22 years old) have just returned from 4 days at the Hotel Cleopatra in Lloret de mar.The following are our comments:
If you are looking for a great hotel, serving delicious food, with the nicest atmosphere and activities, then DO NOT opt for the Cleopatra. However, if you are on a budget holiday and wish to stay in a cheap hotel which offers food and a clean room, then i would suggest the cleopatra.
The location of the hotel is very central, maybe 5 minutes walk from the bus station (of course if you have a map and know were you are going), a couple of meters away from the top night clubs and bars and only a few meters away from the sea.
Well the food was OKAY. It wasnt what i call finest gourmet but it was satisfying. Breakfast was good with eggs and sausages, beans, bread, types of salami, cereals and muffins etc.
Dinner was okay too, with a selection of salads, meats, chips, fried onion rings and also fruit / mousse for dessert. Again i repeat the food wasn't bad, it just wasnt some extra delicious food, but it was good enough if you have a tight budget.
I think the room is the PLUS of this hotel. The bedroom was quiet large. We booked for a twin and ended up having a room with three beds. We used the third bed as a sofa :) The bathroom was really nice, quite large and with a jacuzzi bath. Luckily for us, we were given a room in the basement. We had no balcony nor window, we just had a 'door' which led to a sort of barred shaft. For us it was great because it sheltered us from the noises of the busy streets. The noises which came from the hotel were a bit upsetting though. People talking near the door of our room, doors squeaking, however since previous reviews from this site advised that the hotel can be noisy, i took a pair of ear plugs which came really handy.
I hope this review will help anyone interested.

Jaccuzzi in the room
"When we first arrived at the bus stop it took us over an hour to find the hotel as it was down back streets and the bus driver was spanish and didnt have a clue how to get to the hotel so i would make sure you HAVE A MAP OF THE AREA. When we got to the hotel it was lovely. The overall facilities are great and the food was much better than what other people have stated although some of it was occasionally repetitive. Although everyone was friendly there only seemed to be us who spoke english, many were german. Even the staff couldnt speak much english. Lovely 5 minute strole to the beach and is in the perfect position if you love your shops as its surrounded by them. Jaccuzzi in the bedroom is fantastic and a great added bonus which the majoity of hotels dont have. the 2 for 1 offer on cocktails makes it really cheap (10 - 12:30pm) only 2.20 euros per cocktail. Overall after the trouble of finding the hotel it was a much enjoyed stay and would definately go again."
