Not Happy with the Poseidon Hotel Benidorm
"We were very disapointed in the Poseidon Hotel this year as we have had some veery good Christmas holidays there in the past.New Years eve was a buffet, we expected a gala meal to be waiter service. The food at every meal was cold, and so were the plates. The staff were the one redeeming feature they were on the whole pleasant and helpful, although on arrival, after a 3 1/2 hour delay there was no meal waiting for us and nowhere to obtain even a drink of water, everything was closed, this at 12.45am on Christmas eve.. We shall not be going back there.

"Just returned from a weeks holiday at the Poseidon Hotel we found that we were ideally situated for both Levante and the old town the hotel itself was very clean and comfortable However we were very dissapointed with the food in the restaurant as there was very little choice on the menu three nights running it was a choice of chicken or fish which did get a bit boring so we ate out for the rest of the week. I think the hotel catered mainly for the spanish pensioners which occupied about 75 percent of the hotel. we would return to this area of Benidorm but not to this particular hotel because of the lack of choice in the restaurant."

"great hotel we were a family of 4 adults and one child age 3 years old. the hotel was very clean and the staff were all friendly and really helpful the rooms were spotless cleaned every day the pool area was really good my 3yrs old loved it couldnt get her out of the baby pool. the only down side was the food it catered mainly for the spanish eg squid in its own sauce yuck couldnt even look at it my husband had a steak which u would have needed a saw to cut it that was the only down side we ate out nearly every night overall the hotel and staff were all excellent ."

love you gonzales
i got back from benidorm this morning and i loved the hotel
the entertainment was super and definitley something for everyone
all of the staf there spoke great english and although there seemed to be more spanish than english both nationalities were made to feel welcome
it was extremely clean and you could see that all of the staf took pride in their work
my grandma did have an unfortunate accident needing instant hospital treatment and the staff did everything they could to help with the situation
but lastly, gonzales the entertainment guy was funny, good looking, fit and well... i love him
hes fantastic and im so glad he agreed for a photo with me
i would recommend the hotel to everyone"

"Just returned from 2 weeks at Poseidon Hotel stopping there with my husband and 2 children, 13 and 8 years. The hotel is very clean and has a no smoking policy throughout. The rooms are modern and cleaned daily. The bathroom has everything you need including an hairdryer. Plenty of hot water and a powerful shower. This hotel is two hotels in one sharing everything with the Poseidon Palace. Poseidon is 6 floors high, Palace is 14. The pool area is very pretty with plenty of sunbeds, though not many umberellas. It gets full sun all of the day which is not always the case is some Benidorm hotels. Bar prices around the pool are reasonable though there is a supermarket just outside. The food was good and aways warm, though did lack in vegetables, lots of meat, fish and potatoes. Staff very friendly and polite. The entertainment was aimed at the spanish guests but you dont need to rely on hotel entertainment in Benidorm. Daytime activities included the usual water polo, aquaerobics, darts etc. Hotel mini club for the kids 5-12 years. Internet room and games room for the older ones. The location of this hotel could not be better, it is right in the centre of Benidorm half way between both beaches. Poniente and Lavente. Benidorm old town where the Spanish bars are is about 15 mins away whereas the new town ,where all the british bars and caberet shows are is about 10 mins away. So to summerise this hotel is a modern clean hotel in an ideal location to sample both halves of Benidorm. I would recommend this hotel to anyone."

Lovely Friendly Hotel
"Stayed in this hotel during school holidays with my husband and 2 daughters aged 6 and 3. Food was fab, staff were all very fluent in English and very polite. Entertainment staff were very good with kids even although they were the only British kids in the hotel!! Pools were lovely although we had to use the indoor pool as it was too cold outside. Rooms were lovely and clean and spacious. Overall really loved this hotel although would have preffered to have been a bit closer to the new town. Would recommend to anyone of any age. This is a lovely hotel..."

Great hotel and location
"Have just returned from a 'long-weekend' stay at the Poseidon Hotel In Benidorm. There were four of us with ages ranging from 44 to 78 and we found it sufficiently equipped and located for those with walking difficulties or who are confined to a wheelchair.
The standard of accommodation was excellent; rooms were well furnished and exceptionally clean with maid-service every day. Food was, as is traditional, served buffet style and there was a good selection of choices on each occasion. I'd be surprised if anyone could say that there was nothing suitable for them to eat as the choice was so wide (unless of course they are impossible to please). We spoke to people who had been returning to the hotel regularly which, in itself is a good indication of its appeal.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful at all times and I found the reception staff particulary good; their English being fluent. Without doubt I would stay at this hotel again and would recommend it to anyone."

"just got back from a weeks stay in the hotel poseidon.what a fabulous hotel, it was absolutely immaculate, laminate flooring in bedrooms, big rooms, a big balcony, and the toilet was all marble with a power shower and even a hairdryer!! satellite tv in rooms with channel 5 as much as you want it!! if thats a good thing.reception staff very helpful head waiter in restaurant not so nice good at eyeing you up and down to see if you are wearing the correct attire.I would say that november is not a good time to go if you want to avoid the "blue rinse brigade" no offence to anyone but we are in our thirtys so the entertainment was all geared for the older generation and also at this time of year the spanish have a siesta fortnight so the hotel was full of spanish but im quite sure this wouldnt be the case the rest of the year i also think this about the entertainment,i think it would be different in the height of the season there is a very young entertainment team and i feel they were only providing for the older generation at this time of year. The meals were fab! wide choice to suit everyone and you could eat off the floor if you wanted to a lot more than i could say for most of the spanish hotels ive dined in.At this hotel if you wish you can hire a fridge for a few euros which i thought was great, cant always do that in hotels, an added bonus!when you stay here you are able to use the poseidon palaces facilities and this includes their indoor pool which is brill.the maids a very nice and do their job well clean towels every day and bed linen changed.in summing up of this hotel i would say this is the best ive stayed in cant really fault it whatsoever i will definately go back no doubts there.and after having a bad experience this year in a hotel in spain in summer this made up for it big time! FABULOUS CANT WAIT TO GO BACK"

"we stayed at the poseidon hotel from 31/10/05-6/11/05.
the rooms were excellant, the staff were extremely helpful & if you asked for something they had it to you within minutes. You can hire fridges for around 14 euros for the week.
The pool is nice & you can share the facilities of the poseidon palace next door, the palace also has an indoor pool & gym.
The food is buffet style with plenty of choice, there was 8 of us & none of us could find fault with the food, staff or hotel facilities, we've been to benidorm several times but this is the best place we have stayed. Its location is central for both old & new towns which made it an ideal base."

holiday at the poseidon
"I am just back from Benidorm where I stayed at the Hotel posiedon!! The hotel was lovely, couldn't have been better, the only problem was we had been advised that it was situated in Levante when infact it is right in the old town with a 30minute walk to the square!! Apart from that the hotel itself is brilliant, you just have 2 b out first thing 2make it possible 2 get a lounger!!"

"we stayed here and it was a nice hotel but when we got back both myself and my partner had our bank details stolen.
Our wallets and purse was left in the room and we never used our cards while in spain.
But yet our details have been used to try and buy items.
Police and frued squad are involed.
You have been warned people."
