"My family and I have just returned back from the Poseidon Hotel and would go back here again and again. The rooms were very spacious and the bathroom was a good size. The hotel was spotless. We were here on a half board basis and could also not fault the food. The first night we had Beef & Yorkshire puds, the second night was pork. We ate out Saturday night, as it was my husband’s birthday. The Hotel is in a great location about 5 -10 mins walk of all the shops (old town) and bars. The staff were also very friendly and the rooms were cleaned each day. My parents also came with me (they hadn’t been to Benidorm before) and were also very impressed. This Hotel comes highly recommended."

"Just returned from Hotel Poseidon Benidorm. Great location for everything - shops restaurants bars and entertainment. Lovely clean hotel numerous facilities including the use of an indoor pool at the sister hotel. Food not great but acceptable and who goes to Benidorm for the food anyway? Central heating/air conditioning, balcony TV phone hairdryer, and power shower. Do not confuse with Poseidon Complex which is not in such a great location and is in the quieter area."

"First time to Benidorm, the hotel was like living in another world. The room was massive for the 2 of us. It was very clean. The food was plenty to choose from in the restaurant. The entertainment was not to our liking but we didn’t stay in anyway if you stay here you must go to the tower brilliant pub. Will defo be going back, the staff were more than helpful, and the maids came in every day without fail. "

"Hotel was very nice, rooms were ok, staff were ok except round the pool area. The food at the hotel was disgusting, it was the Spanish holidays while we were there so it was 90% Spanish in the hotel and they catered for them. I know we were in Spain but we had upgraded to full board and we ate out almost every day. The good thing about it being the Spanish hols was there was never a problem getting sunbeds. The daytime entertainment was not bad, we never stayed in at night time to find out as there is there was too much to do in Benidorm. We won’t stay at this hotel even though it well situated close to the old town which we like, but we will go back to Benidorm."

"We found the hotel very nice, kept well clean, the pool area was very spacious with plenty of sun beds. The location is very good close to the old town with some good bars and restaurants close by, but the time of year we went was the Spanish holidays so the hotel was 90% Spanish (I know we're in Spain) but that is what they catered for in the dining room. My wife who is not a fussy eater even complained about the food, but beside the food the hotel was very good."

"just back from poseidon palace benidorm. There from aug 3 until 13th, DONT GO TO BENIDORM IN AUGUST!!! we read that on here but it was too late, all the spanish holiday then and its a nightmare. Personally Ill never go back to Benidorm.Theres no real faults i can pinpoint and I knoew my cousins are just back and loved it but it just wasnt my thing.High rise buildings and tacky pubs! This hotel is nice and the food is great no problems with that. Its very clean maids in every day etc and plenty choice with the meals. The staff are a bit grumpy but maybe thats cos it was so busy ,the lifts are a nightmare ! we got moved to the second floor from the 12th and id advise it if you dont so anything else!! Pool area is lovely too so no real grumps with the hotel its just i think benidorm has changed.Loads of graffiti etc and not very clean. If youve booked this hotel you wont really be dissapointed / basic rooms but very clean. The beach is lovely and if you come out of the palace entrance and take a left you will go to the old town and there is a perfect wee beach there which is beautiful. we had a good break as we didnt do much as it was so hot but walked for miles and miles!! but i suppose then it was ok to eat they croissants evrey day!! Ps DONT waste your money on teramiticca theme park its rubbish , even my 13 year old said that and she loves parks, theres not alot of rides, and we waited for 1hour 45mins for a rubber burger!! if you go- hide food in your bag!! Anyway hope you have a lovely holiday Sorry if i sound a moan but its not for everyone and if you like the bizz and comedian shows etc in tacky pubs youll love it!! oh and if you love shoes you will be made!!!!ps nearly forgot GO to benidorm palace show its well worth the money and take the meal it is fantastic. One bit of advise if you take kids make sure youve fed them as the meal is an adult meal (steak etc) that i think not many kids would eat>"

DECENT ENOUGH

"We have just had a week at The Poseidon Palace in Benidorm staying from 29th March and 5th April 2006. the hotel itself is a five minute walk away from Levante beach. The Poseidon Palace is clean and tidy with very friendly and helpful reception staff. It states room will not be ready until 2pm on day of arrival, but we arrived around noon and it was not a problem as a room was made available to us immediately. The maids came in an tidied every day. The rooms themselves are not spacious or luxurious in anyway but they are reasonable with a decent bathroom and balconey. There is an in room safe which is available at a cost of around £14 per week. Our room was overlooking the pool area and as we were on the 9th floor we did not experience any noise. In fact most if not all the guests were very reserved. There was no young children running around the pool screaming and shouting which you often get in some hotels. The indoor pool in the hotel is not too big and the same depth 5ft all round, but nothing to write home about. A jacuzzi is situated near this pool. I usually enjoy an indoor pool but only visited this one once. The chlorine in this pool was far too strong making it uncomfortable spending anymore than a couple of minutes in it. Right next door to the Poseidon Palace is the Poseidon hotel. The hotel are linked via a walk through and guests can use facilities of both hotels. Don't expect decent entertainment as from what we saw it was not worth watching. However, a ten minute walk will get you to the heart of where all the cabaret clubs are located. If you like decent cabaret entertainment then look out for Chaplins. They have happy hour until 10pm and we saw several good acts in the time we were there. These artists varied from "Sinatra" impressionist and other "Rat Pack" type singers to comedy acts. However, from May the entertainmnet in Chaplins reverts to disco and not cabaret. Another decent cabaret club is "Wheeltappers and Shunters". Again various singers and comedians entertain from 9pm to 1am with reasonably priced drinks. Not too far away is "The Town" again enertainment of a similar nature. This is to name just three out of about fifty. The beaches are very clean and safe enough but I can reccomend a nice little cove which is situated between Levante and Poniente beaches. Walk to the centre of the town by the huge church and if you look over from the courtyard this idyllic cove nestles just below. Steps leading down provide easy access. This does'nt get crowded and there are plenty of sunbeds available for 3 euros. A lot of the locals used this cove as they obviously know the best place to sunbathe. To summarise the hotel is decent enough but don't expect luxury. It is ideally situated for all amenities and close enough to both beaches (don't forget the cove). There is a varied choice of buffet type menu for meals and something for every taste so no need to go hungry. All the hotel staff were polite and courteous."

"We have stayed at this hotel twice before this was the reason for booking as always we not disappointed, the hotel is spotless in the rooms and public areas. The food is very good with plenty of choice and the staff in the dining room are excellent. There is entertainment in the bar area don't know what that is like as we go into town at night because of the location it is easy to go to the new or old town. Hope this helps to make your choice easier and happy holidays. "

THE FABULOUS POSEIDON PALACE

"I've just returned from 2 fabulous weeks at the Hotel Poseidon Palace. I went with my 2 children aged 11 & 14. Loved the hotel. The hotel room was on the small side for the 3 of us and wardrobe space could have been a little bigger plus there was a shortage of hangars which are fitted but luckily i'd packed loads of hangars so it wasn't a problem. The bedroom itself was absolutely sparkling and no sign of dust or dirt in any nooks & crannies. The bathroom was fab, spacious, clean & added bonus of hairdryer. Towels are changed everyday providing you leave them in the bath. I asked for a room overlooking the pool which i got but I found that if I wanted an earlish night I couldnt sleep due to the noise from the evening entertainment which is done outside on the stage next to pool.(starts 10pm-12.30) The food in the restaurant was fabulous and after reading other reports about the food I was a little worried but I needn't have been concerned as there was huge choice and plentiful. There are at least 2/3 soup & meat dishes, fish, vegatarian, cold meats, pizza, pasta, salads, veg and potaoes and chips to choose from every night about 6 different desserts, fresh fruit, yoghurts and 3 icecreams to help yourself too. Breakfast meals are just as good again about 4 cereals, bacon, sausages (frankfurter & real sausages) variations on eggs, toast, croissants, pastries, fruit salads etc plus Chips! I was amazed to see chips at breakfast but my son was thrilled!! Entertainment was good I even joined in aqua aerobics which was a great laugh and taken very seriously by the entertainment guy. The pool area is really lovely. Plenty of sunbeds and parasols plus plenty of palm trees to get shade from. Reserving a sunbed is not allowed & when guests lay out their towels and walk away the pool waiters immediately remove them. The swimming pool is huge and very safe. As a non swimmer I was able to step into the shallow end without need to climb down metal steps and be ankle deep then it very gently shelves down. The only negative side from my childrens point of view is that no lilos/inflatables under any circumstances are allowed into the pool. These can be used in babypool but it is tiny and I felt not fair to the toddlers let lilos there. There is a fulltime lifeguard in attendance who watches everyone in the pool from opening to closing and the only time she isnt there is whilst at lunch when all the kids did go into pool with lilos but she got them all out upon her return, then watched them like a hawk, She even stopped kids from splashing. I was annoyed that -the no inflatables allowed in pool- wasnt mentioned in the travel brochure as my kids did moan for the whole 2 weeks about it plus everyone else's but that's the only criticism I can make. There is a poolside bar which serves hot & cold drinks(make sure you during day you ask for a drink with no ice otherwise you only get a few mouthfulls. You can also get inexpensive hot bocadillo sandwiches & rip off price pizzas, crips and ice-creams/lollies. The hotel is in a very good position, close to the beach, 2 minutes to MacDonald's, bus stop outside Poseidon, pharmacy, bars, shops and restaurants on doorstep. The hotel staff are not overly friendly but polite and very accomodating so no faults there. The hotel gardens are lovely and even have a daily gardener. I really enjoyed my stay so much that I've booked to reurn next summer!!!"

"This hotel surpassed our high expectations. The room was very clean and well equipped. Staff were very friendly. Food was excellent - good Spanish cuisine at each meal (full board). Liked it so much we are going back for a third time in three years. If you are looking for a typical British hotel abroad then you will be dissapointed, as we found the hotel to be typically Spanish, for which we were grateful. Oh, good live entertainment in the evening too."

The buffet meals were more than ideal. The location was very near the old town and church and entertainment in the evening was readily available. We made many friends here on the 6 times we have visited. We have recommended this hotel many times to our friends. "
