"Hotel in good location and very modern and clean, but the food left a great deal to be desired. We arrived on the Friday evening and thought the meal was OK, but that was a Gala night and it went down hill from there. Mouldy brown bread and rolls at breakfast. Fresh fruit consisted of apples and bananas. Not a great deal of choice in the hot section. Food spills were left to congeal on the serving areas. Evening meal was an insult to our inteligence. The food was either overcooked or undercooked. The chips were warmed up frozen every night and the mash was something that resembled wall paper paste. The salad bar was not very enterprising with trays of mushed up tinned vegetables in mayonaise most nights. One night my friend ate beefburger and chips she said there was nothing else that looked edible. You should not have to make do with BEEFBURGER AND CHIPS IN A FOUR STAR HOTEL. Langustines were served one night with string beans and mushrooms - these consisted of very little fish and a lot of eggs. One of our party was ill for two days after eating these!! Maderia Centro could be a great hotel if the catering department got their act together. I hope these comments will be noted and anyone booking holiday in this hotel will think twice about booking on a half board basis."

"An excellent resort, laid back not busy and lots to do. Good relaxed nightlife with lots of entertainment in the bars. This is a fantastic new Hotel with excellent accommodation. The location is very good, being within easy walking distance of both the new town and the old town. The main bus stop is directly across the road from the Hotel. The staff are friendly and the food was very good. Overall I found this Hotel better than all of the ohter have have stopped in when at Benidorm. "

Excellent location and fab hotel
"We stayed here May 19th and like previous people have said the location is fab just yards away from the beach and you will be able to see the beach from your hotel room, every room will look out to it. Also a glass lift will give you excellent all round views the only problem i found is the hotel entertainment is for the older market (over 50's) we didnt stay there in evenings but if you like that sort of thing you'll be fine. food was lovely a selection to suit all and no limit on what and how many times you went up for it. hotel was kept clean throughout and to a high standard also the staff were polite and helpful, i would recommend and would also go back to this hotel, for its location and selecton of food."

The best hotel in Benidorm
"My daughter and i stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. It is centrally located in old Benidorm (the best part) very close to both beaches - Levante and Poniente. Levante is easily the best beach - it has the bars and restaurants on the promenade The hotel itself is great, clean and very well run. The service was excellent/very friendly - the food was great for adults and average for kids. The room was large and on the 9th floor and with a great view of the beach. I would certainly stay at this hotel again."

Overall Impressive Hotel
"Stayed at this hotel for a week in mid March, whilst a big fiesta was taking place. The hotel was very busy for the first few days because of this, especially with Spanish. Despite this, we always managed to get a seat in the dining room without delay and the waiting/clearing staff were extremely efficient, even to the point of clearing our table before we had completely finished our meal on occasion. Breakfast was above average and the fresh orange juice was a nice touch. Dinner was of a slightly lower standard, but certainly better than many other European 4 star hotels I have stayed in. The room was larger than average, with 2 balconies and thoughtfully laid out, with an electric socket right next to the mirror - handy for those hair appliances. The bathroom was equipped well, with a powerful shower. The heating in our room did not work for the first few days, but after several requests to Reception it eventually sprang into life (we had some unseasonably chilly winds whilst there and it was quite cold at night). The evening entertainment was aimed more at the Spanish clients and some evenings it was impossible to find a seat unless you dashed straight in from an early dinner. The piano bar on the 20th floor was quite relaxed, although sometimes quite smoky, and had excellent views out to sea. The pool area was secluded as it was above street level and seemed to be sheltered from the wind. We had no problem finding a vacant sunbed, but would imagine at the height of the season this might be a problem as the area is quite small. The hotel is well positioned nearer to the old town and, I think, the nicer end of the resort. All in all I would certainly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again."

"Looking forward to arriving at the hotel after all the good reports and was not disappointed. The hotel is a vivid blue stylish and bold hotel that looks great. The room was quite spacious and had a nice bathroom. Fantastic views of the sea and over the town, and a great glass lift! The beach is really near as are a plethora of shops. The breakfasts were plentiful, and the dinners were pretty good, a great selection of salads, meat, cheese and hot food. The hot food wasnt exactly haute cuisine but it was filling enough and filled a hole. The waiting staff that cleared away your plates were very quick and attentive. In fact all the staff I dealt with were very nice and helpful. Only sort of negative was the distance from the other end of the town - but really you needn't go there as there is so much going on nearby. It's not a 5* hotel, but what it does, it does it to a very acceptable standard."

Reports a bit misleading
"We booked this hotel after having read earlier reviews on Tripadvisor and I would say that the hotel is quite good but not as good as other reports suggest. The good points - It is in a central location, it is very clean, the staff are courteous, well turned out and the hotel appears to be very efficiently run. The not so good points - the hotel has a cold rather unusual impersonal design, the room furnishing could have been better and the standard of the food was erratic. It was sometimes a choice between an average salad or fried food in the evening, but at other times it was very good. There was dancing on the ground floor and a pianist in a bar on the 20th floor but we were driven out of both by the cigarette smoke. Would we go back again? No, but then we didn't like Benidorm at all. Considering what we paid the hotel was good value for money."

excellent rates, food, location
"Last year we stayed for three nights in Madeira Centro. We booked on a full board basis and were three adults staying in one room. The bed for the third person was the same size as the double one and incredibly comfortable. Our bedroom had a balcony, which was large enough to sunbathe there (although it was February, that was warm enough). Food was superb, there was a wide range to choose and quality was excellent, you could even see how the chef cooked the steak you had chosen. Apart from the wide variety of meat, fish, vegetables (anyone with special food needs: vegs, people with diabetes, blood pressure,..) could find anything suitable to eat. Dessert were also a real problem to me: I couldn't make up my mind as I wanted to taste all of them ( not the right place to go if you want to lose weight). Breakfast was a plus, although drink was not included on full board, at breakfast you could have natural orange juice you had just squeezed as well as add champagne ( cava) to it,.. total luxury for free. Location was unbeatable, just a few steps form Levante beach (the best in Benidorm, in my opinion), next to the shops in the centre as well as in walking distance form the old town. There is also a car park which must have too small places when it is full, but there was enough room as it was February. I wouldn't recommend it if you are driving a large car ( mine is a 4x4) and it is full. I am planning a stay next February but, unluckily I'm not staying there this time because the minimun stay is five nights and I will only stay in Benindorm for 4. If you can choose, go there!"

"The Hotel Madeira Centro is located a couple minute's walk away from Benidorm's old town and one block from the beach. The hotel is built on a small plot of land but has a total of 23 floors. The main restaurant and reception are on the bottom floor and you go up a floor to the indoor/outdoor pools and sports/relaxation area. There are then a further 19 floors of rooms (about 12 per floor). One floor from the top of the building there is a lounge bar and TV room. Right at the top there is an 'a la carte' restaurant which is not where you would eat if you were staying on a half/full board basis but a discount is available to guests. There is also a car park under the hotel. I don't think the location of the hotel could be better for a stay in Benidorm. It is literally just one or two minute's walk from the beach and the old town and perhaps five minutes walk to the livlier area. The 'Benidorm Centro' bus stop is also just around the corner so it is easy to get to pretty much anywhere else in the area that is not within walking distance. As for getting to the hotel from the Airport or by public transport, it is probably about 400m from the 'Avenida de Europa' bus station where the Alicante Airport bus stops. It's a very easy flat walk from there even if you are wheeling heavy luggage along behind you. Benidorm train station is a nice 15-20 minute gradual uphill walk (mostly through parks) from the hotel but still easy to get to, although if you are travelling with luggage it would probably be best to get to the hotel by bus from the train station getting off at the 'Benidorm Centro' stop. The hotel rooms are of a good size and our double had two queen size beds in it (see photo). The room had everything you would expect with plenty of storage, TV with a good selection of channels, telephone, mini-bar and a safety deposit box that could be used for a small fee. The bathroom was also very nice and included a hair-dryer and bizarrely another telephone(!). For guests staying on a half board or full board basis it was the downstairs restaurant where meals were taken. Breakfasts were very good with a good choice of hot food as well as everything else you would expect at a continental hotel but the real bonus was the freshly squeezed orange juice every morning. Evening meals were also of a very high standard although (as other reviews have stated) this hotel does not aim its food at British tastes. There is a real mixture of nationalities staying at the hotel and they are all catered for. I personally thought the food and service was superb although the amount of choice of food was a little limited especially if you didn't want fish. There was a large selection of wine and other drinks available to be purchased to go with your meal. A bottle of wine started at 9 Euros and we had many different types during our stay and they were all good. Overall we had a very relaxing week and I really cannot fault the hotel in any way at all. I would definitely stay there again if going to Benidorm as there can't be many (any?) better hotels in the resort!"

"My wife and I booked in at the Madeira Centro whilst touring Spain last year and have to say that it is one of the best decisions of our life. Very reasonable rates, good bedroom and probably the best breakfast I have had in any Hotel in Spain. Parking on site is a real bonus and the location cannot be bettered."

Great Hotel had a lovely Holiday!
"Excellent Hotel in a very good location close to the old town and beach. The food was very good lots of choice, we were lucky to have been on Full Board basis. The hotel bedroom was spotless and smartly furnished. We were lucky to be on a high floor so the view from the balcony was great. Highly recommended."

"Hi Folks, Just after returning from a week's stay at this lovely hotel. This was the first time that I stayed half board. We all found the food lovely and there was something for all tastes. If you are staying here make sure you are in on time for your meals as they are strict on this point. The hotel is in a central position in the city and only a few minutes walk from the beach. Entertainment suits the older and younger person but there is plenty close by to suit all other ages. Would highly recommend this hotel. The Donegal Gang."
