"Having just read the comments left by fellow guests who seem more interested in eating at 4am in the morning or wishing they were actually in England! Having stopped at the Benikaktus at least 6 times sometimes more than once a year I find it unbelievable the comments I have read. The food is always hot and very plentiful with an extremley large choice of both meat and fish. The staff are always very courteous and extremely friendly and just because they do not all talk fluent English only enhances the fact that you are in fact in SPAIN! It annoys me that people may be put off a wonderful holiday experience staying at this hotel with its fabulous views, live entertainment and everything else this hotel and resort have to offer. Incidentally it can be and ususally is very warm in January and February!!!! "

"Hotel was okay, but not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties as it was up a very steep bank. The food was ok but they did not put signs above the various dishes so you had to guess what you were eating. I myself would not go to that hotel again. We would certainly go to Benidorm again as there is something there for everyone, you can have a lively or quiet holiday depending on your preference. I would also use Sunshine co UK again as everything was spot on from their end."

Hotel location is brilliant!!
"We have just returned from our 2 week long vacation in Benidorm. When we first opened the door to our hotel room, I wasn't too pleased, I've stayed in many 3* hotels before & they were all better. My first impressions were, the room looked very, very basic. We usually get given little shampoos etc, but this room had nothing but dispite the room being so basic, it was clean and has a lovely balcony with a beautiful view, that alone made it a really good choice of hotel & also it was seconds away from the beach! Breakfast wasn't too bad, you had the fry ups & fruit & pastries etc. Dinner on the other hand was brilliant, for a hotel buffet, they really did serve up some really good food! we ate there everyday because it was almost something different everyday, you had paellas, fish, pork, steak, veggie meals, desserts, fruit, you was spoilt by choice! The receptionists can all speak English so that was helpful but sometimes they gave wrong information! Wasn't the best of customer service but that didn't bother us to much because the location of the hotel was brilliant! We never stayed for any of the hotel entertainment because it was aimed at the more elderly people ( me & my partner are in our mid 20's) but the bar area was really nice, you could have a drink outside the bar & have the view of the beach & sea, it look so beautiful! Overall, I would highly recommend anyone who is looking to go Benidorm to stay at this hotel, because it is clean, food is good, view is beautiful & being only seconds away from the beach makes it so perfect & also, restuarants, shops & bars are all within walking distance! This was a package HB holiday & I really did have a fab time, the hotel was good."

"Basically the hotel is focussed on non British guest, mainly Spanish and German. Hence the food was catered towards their needs rather than OURS! The pool is nice and the hotel is well maintained. It is situated on the far end of Levante beach, miles away from Subway on a late night, up a steep hill by dodgy fishermen at 3-4am in the morning. Mcdonalds is 24/7 but watch out for a dodgy Kebab man two blocks away who mixes chicken with kebab meat (Not too Nice). Better still go to Rockerfella and see Albi Senior, fat but dead funny."

Nice affordable hotel with stunning views!
"Just back from a wonderful week at the Benikaktus hotel. We booked half board through the medhotels site and used A2B transfers to shuttle us from Alicante airport to Benidorm. When we arrived in Alicante on the Sunday evening, we were the only two heading to benidorm, so we had a whole coach to ourselves. A great service. The hotel is located at the very end of Playa De Levante beach, just past Burger King, Mc Donaldâs, and the Water Ski machine. Itâs a eleven-storey building a few minutes up on the hill so bear this in mind if someone has walking disabilities. You can also access the hotel from some steps down beside the beach, which brings you to the pool/bar area. When we checked in we decided to hire a key for the safe in our room, which worked out at 15 euro for the week (we discovered later that our electronic door key opened and locked the safe as well so maybe try this out before parting with your 15 euro). The room was spacious enough, clean and had satellite TV (sky news was the only English channel). You can get a remote control for the TV from reception if you leave a small deposit. The rooms were cleaned every day, with the bed sheets changed every few days. Meal times were are as follows Breakfast 8am-9.30am and Dinner 8pm -9.30pm and all meals are buffet style. For breakfast, you had a selection of juices, French toast, bacon, egg, and frankfurters as sausages along with a selection of cheeses and breads. For dinner, soup available every night along with a mixed salad bar. The main courses usually featured one or two fish dishes, and either beef or pork. Chicken only appeared once over the whole week, which was surprising. Chips were in abundance every night with mash a couple of nights. Also had a nice dessert bar with ice cream, fruit, and cakes. When you arrived at the restaurant each night, you were then brought to a available table, which meant you were not looking at the same people every night, like some other hotels do. Drinks were reasonable enough and amstel was the beer on tap. The pool was a nice size and is covered with glass. The hotel has entertainment every night but we never saw any of it, we are in our thirties and were amongst the youngest there. We headed down the main strip to the bars and clubs instead. The Benidorm palace show is a must, and only 27 euro each with a free drink if you donât want to dine there. It starts about 10pm but arrive about 9pm to get a seat close to the stage. The diners are sat much further back unless you get the 50 euro dining package."

Value for Money
"We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights and although the room was basic it was comfortable and clean. To our surprise the towels were changed and the beds made everyday. We were on a full board basis and were pleasantly surprised by the quality and choice at all meal times. The location of the hotel was excellent just a short stroll to the beach and shops. The night life was very good in particular the White Horse bar( Down the hill past kfc up the hill to the right) cabaret every night with different artists. The majority of the guests staying in the hotel were over 50 and as such there were no late night disturbances. We would recommend this hotel and hope to stay there again in the future."

More than I bargained for
"Well, I went having read all of these reviews hoping for the best. It was great! Its so close to the sea, literally down a short hill (granted steep) and your there. If, like me, you walk a bit further round the coast you can get quieter spots on the beach with less rocks in the sea. The food was what you would expect. Something different every night and of an above average standard. This is a hotel mainly for older couples, being 19 at the time, me and my bf stuck out a bit. But as long as you're not loud and rude you'll fit in just fine. Also we were one of the few english people there, which should not be a problem. The pool wasn't bit but was enough for the guests. More of a cooling off pool is it was freezing. As in sunbathe, get hot, dunk in! But it was ok! Overall the staff were great, there is so much to do nearby, food is cheap, and as Benidorm is a hotspot for Brits, its nice to have a hotel that not many stay in! always got a good nights sleep!"

"Arrived 4 hours late to this hotel and despite it being 2.30 in the morning the welcome was warm and they even had a meal of cold cuts waiting for the four of us with drinks including water and fruit juices. Unfortunately the breakfasts are not to the British standards with all the ingredients much more suitable for the majority of clients who were from mainland Europe with the toast a particular let-down , it was almost what we would call crispbread. Apart from the food issue I found the rooms clean and well furnished although only Sky News available in english. The staff were always gracious and smilingly helpful particularly waiters and bar staff. When I had a problem they were always helpful. Would heartily recommend this Hotel for a reasonably inexpensive holiday."

"ive been to benidorm many times and this was the best hotel ive stayed at. the rooms were cleaned every day the maids were very helpful and the waiters were always helpful and smiling even though they worked so much you wondered when they actually slept. the night staff were probably the worst part. a bit stony faced but you didnt need to speak to them hardly anyway. besides show me any happy night shift worker. the food was great. my friend was diabetic and a vegetarian and they were happy to help her by putting on the foods she liked daily. the food is buffet style self service so its up to you what you put on your plate. there were vegetables including carrots, potatoes, green beans, courgettes plus more. a wide range of fresh fruit was available and fresh prawns still shelled casseroles rice, fish. it was lovely. we went half board and were able to have breakfast and then either dinner or tea so we werent tied down to times. the pool was a bit cold but fine once you were in. it is overlooking the beach and all balconys faced the sea. the area is nice not too far/near to the lively bars. this hotel was excellent value for money. if you want more then pay more. overall a great hotel and i would stay again."
