Wowza amazing for value.
"I booked this holiday for my honeymoon at a bargain price in February. I read all the bad reviews after i had booked. So i was really worried about coming because some of the reviews were that bad. On our way here on the 16th of August. I was even planning in my head that we would find a rep and demand they move us. I was so anxious about it being so bad. We arrived at around 14.30pm and John the receptionist made us go and have some lunch and drinks before he checked us in so that we didn't miss lunch. Are dinner was fabulous. As was every other meal we ate there. We were sent up to our room after lunch. To a 1st floor room with a pool view. It was absolutely spotless couldn't find a fault . (But everyone's taste is different) we stayed all inclusive. We had shampoo and conditioner on tap Shower caps. combs. Toothbrush an toothpastes. Shoe polishes. Hairdryer flat screen TV telephone. Free WiFi. The maids came in daily with fresh towels and changed the beds etc. I can actually say this is the best 3⦠I have ever stayed at. In fact it should be a 4⦠staff and entertainment were great. So believe me we will be returning in the future . Even met new friends. These people leaving bad reviews must be used to bloody 6â¦that don't exist. Or after compo lol. This hotel is close to all the amenities and is quite compared to some hotels I have stayed in. At the end of the day Benidorm is a party town . Ignore all bad reviews. Your gonna have a ball . Xx Nicky (Liverpool UK)"

hotel from hell
"This must be the worst hotel we have ever stayed at . Hotel is very dated and tired looking , could do with a face lift. Full of hen and stag parties . Extremely noisy during the early hours of the morning with people returning to their rooms . Food was totally uneatable most days . Stayed fully inclusive , other than breakfast time all drinks had asked for . Evening time in the bar all drinks served in plastic beakers . Entertainment was a disgrace . Swimming pool had the grand total of two parasols ! Fire alarm went off at 6.15am and there were no staff on hand , in the end guests decided it was a false alarm . Another day there was a power cut . One day people got stuck in the lift for 3 hours. Other than the cleaner all the staff were unfriendly , bar staff during the evening would just stand there and shout 'next' . There was no welcome meeting and had to waste a morning hanging around hotel to see rep concerning pick up time for transfer back to the airport . This was my first visit to Benidorm I would come again but would not stay at this hotel . Came home from here with an upset stomach which lasted an entire week . "

"Hotel well situated (although up a a very steep hill.) Food poor - ate out several times. Good for shopping, entertainment and beach. Rooms cleaned daily with fresh towels. Beds reasonably comfortable, British t.v. a bonus. Entertainment virtually non-existent unless you play shove h'penny or snooker - but the lad tried hard. Hotel full of stag and hen parties so don't try and sleep before about 4am-ish. Can be quite rowdy in daytime, but that fault of customers not hotel. I'm ashamed to say the majority of the problem was the young Brits who were, at times. out of control ! Even threw food around and at each other in the bar area. Basically this hotel must decide whether to be for stag/hen parties or for families, as its just not working at the moment. Shame as it has got good potential, especially as so well situated. Would go back to Benidorm again but be a lot choosier about the hotel. "

quite glad to be home
"Just returned from 3 weeks here. Staff can't be faulted in any way. Reception very helpful and excellent English, especially one British born of Spanish parents-best of both worlds. Food just ok, but I'm picky. Rooms kept spotless. Lot of noise from single sex groups-not all youngsters either. So if you want a quiet break, go somewhere else."

Give it a chance, where is your GSOH!
"I stayed for 2 weeks in Feb 2013, and although yes it is raucous and the volume levels can reach major highs, it is us Brits who are spoiling this hotel. The staff are really friendly, try saying Hola! See what a difference it makes. My room, very clean, new towels daily, tiled floor bleached clean. The reception staff very welcoming. The food although, sometimes a bit lukewarm, there is a little white box on the counter, it's called a microwave? Much choice on offer for the discount price of this hotel. Be reasonable, this is one of the cheapest on the listings, and for the price I will definitely return for the welcome and good geographical position. Hasta la vista Gala Placidia."

"We had read some bad reviews on this hotel this is our experience. The hotel is basic 3 star.We found the hotel clean and tidy but is a little tired ie:painting and some plastering on the outside and the pool are needs a good clean. The rooms where cleaned with fresh towels and linen changed daily. We found the food to be good a little on the cool side sometime but who wants boiling food when its 30deg outside! There was plenty of choice for everyone at each meal.Drinks where readly available at all times and we never had to wait to be served. There was entertainment nightly and both English and Spanish joined in with the fun and games. We were met at reception with British staff who with the rest of the staff was very friendly and helpful. There where some stag and hen parties at the hotel and a little noise at night but nothing to keep us awake. The location was good only a 10min walk to the beach and plenty of shops and bars near buy.All in all we had a great holiday."

dont listen to the moaners
"spent 4 days monday to friday, hotel was 3 star, managed to try some of the food on offer and always had chips n cheese to fall back on, room was basic and it was clean, pool small and clean, staff were polite and did job well, some of the other guests were a bit to drunk/noisy but hey they paid for their stay and if its quiet your after pay a bit more and go somewhere else.it is quieter going midweek. you get what you pay for"

"the food was terrible it only catered for spaish the only thing that could be eaten of the menu was the desserts. The snack bar that you were supposed to use through the day consisted of a bain marie that sat out with the same food in it for eight hours where everyone came up and grabbed food out of it with their bare hands and kids left the lids off resulting in flies getting in. We complained four times at reception which was a task on its own as we has to use google translater on the computer because no one at reception spoke english. When an english speaking supposed manageress was brought she promised all our concerns would be dealt with including the fact that only approx 10 sunbeds actually were usable without having to be held up with a chair, the pool being to small for the size of hotel ,the rooms being too small for extra beds or that there was NO entertainment at all to be told "the spanish dont really do all inclusive".This should not have been sold to us as an International hotel "

gala placidia don,t go there.
"just got back from a one week stay at this hotel never again, they cater entirely for the spanish food, entertainment etc, pool not even been cleaned it was filthy and smelled rancid. rooms were cleaned everyday but both myself @ my partner have come home covered in bites(we think bed bugs) there was a stag party arrived later in the week who had some of their rooms robbed of money but no sign of forced entry @ no help given when they complained to management, we had to eat out almost every day and were out all day @ night to get some entertainment . so if you want somewhere half decent or if you,ve got children or just a couple DON,T GO HERE."

"me and my partner went here for the first two weeks of july 2010 and i must say dont always go by the reveiws. we had an excellent time here staff were very friendly and very helpful. the maids did an excellent job of keeping the rooms spotless. yes the entertainment wasn't up to much and yes it was spanish but when they knew you were english and you wanted to partisipate they bent over backwards to include you and made it a very enjoyable night. And i have to say the meals were very good. The only down side was the snack bar chips, burgers, hot dogs.and cheese toasties and that was it and it was always cold. but overall an excellent holiday and yes we would go back again."
