NOT FOR BRITS OR THE YOUNG AND NOT REALLY ALL INCLUSIVE
"when we arrived we were dropped off at the bottom of a huge flight of steps, which wasn't too bad if you only had to climb them once a day but if you go out at night (which you had to if you wanted entertainment other than a Spanish band playing waltzes and foxtrots!!), it was not great. My daughter caught her finger in the lift as there are no sensors on the doors so do not stop closing if there is something in the way. She had to have stitches and the hotel were not at all concerned, just gave us items to strap her hand up. The All Inclusive label they use is ridiculous as they stop serving free drinks at 11pm, but they will serve you after if you really insist as we had to one night. They were trying to say that we could no longer order drinks but were serving all the Spanish guests so after we insisted they had no choice. The food wasn't the best, mainly cooked in oil so very fatty, and was practically the same food night after night. They also would not let us take food out of the restaurant to eat later so made you feel uncomfortable by watching you through your meal to see if you are sneaking things out, yet they will allow you to take the bottle of water or wine that is put on your table. The only snacks available during the day were sandwiches, either cheese, ham or cheese and ham, but they did not butter the bread so if you wanted butter you had to either sneak it out of the restaurant or make a big thing with the staff. The only other snacks available FOC were crisps but only Ready Salted. You had to pay for any other flavours and also for any ice-creams. Some of the staff were quite miserable and the only friendly people were Dee-Dee who tended the bar and some of the cleaners. The night time entertainment was the same every night with a band of a couple of people in there 60's or 70's playing bland music for the older guests to dance to. We definitely had to go out each night to get any sort of entertainment as it was frowned upon to try to make your own. All in all, it is not really the place for Brits and especially if you are younger than 50 years old as you would not enjoy it. It becomes costly when you have to go out to bars and restaurants as we had to most nights so while it is fairly cheap to stay there there are hidden costs."

would never stay here again!!!!!
"benidorm = brilliant ( would def go back) but would never go back to the hotel cabana & would not recommend either.. althoough the hotel itself is clean, tidy, they dont cater for the english... its mainly spainish who are greedy with the half board food times.. pushing, shoving & filling there plates to the brime... on 1 occassion i did go for breakfast, i found a small black bug in my cornflakes!!! food was the same most days (chicken, fish & pork) the rooms are basic"

Good, clean, value for money
"Just arrived back from the typically Spanish Hotel Cabana and we found it clean, tidy and staff very polite and helpful. The food was plentiful, well presented and a choice of fish, pasta, meat, potatoes, fresh salads and typical spanish desserts at every sitting. Service was quick and nothing seemed too much trouble. Beach, shops and restaurants were in walking distance - down a bit of a ramp so not great for buggies - great for the calves though! The only criticism we can make is that there is no entertainment geared towards other nationalities other than Spanish but we were on a Spanish holiday! We would return here."

Dont Go to Cabana !
"We booked this Hotel as "All Inclusive" when we arrived we found it was "Light Inclusive". The rooms were basic but ok . The hotel itself - the toilets on the ground floor were filthy !Does no one flush the chain or put toilet paper down the toilet ??? If you were in the bar the only option was to go in the rickety lifts that only fir 4 people in and use your own toilet in your own room. I witnessed the cleaners filling up their mop buckets from the swimming pool ! Reception staff rude ! As for the bar , when we were waiting we were told we were to be served last " as the spanish people were impatient " - makes no difference we were there first. Entertainment - If you like Tom Jones or 60's and 70's songs sung in spanish or spanish bingo then its the place for you other than that there is nothing. The food - diabolical.Hot dogs and fairy cakes for breakfast.Lunch didnt recognise what it was . As for dinner , more bones than meat . We ate out after that . I definatly would avoid it .Lots of complaints when we were there , we complained too . Plenty of nice places to stay in Benidorm but the Cabana in my opinion is by far the worst !"

Not All Inclusive!!
"This holiday was advertised as all inclusive but the hotel does not do all inclusive, only all inclusive light, which means you are restricted to using the bar at certain times of the day, there are no snacks available unless you are willing to pay for them. Breakfast is passable but the food provided for lunch and dinner was unedible unless you liked salads, fruit, and a bottle of red wine. Rabbit stew seemed a popular dish with the chef! The hotel itself was reasonably clean although a bit out dated, pool area was nice and the bar staff lovely and pleasant. The hotel is on a steep incline with lots of steps to negotiate so unsuitable for the elderly or disabled who want to venture out of the hotel. The only entertainment was ballroom dancing in the evening which was based on the many elderly spanish staying at the hotel. If it wasnt for the groups of Irish and Scots staying at the hotel we would have been very bored. We ventured out to eat most nights as we couldnt tolerate the restaurant food and there was a lot of choice if you can be bothered to walk into the more lively Levante area. I ould go to Benidorm again but would definately not recommend staying here."

"My partner and I are nearing the end of our stay at the Hotel Cabana here in Benidorm, Whilst we fully appreciate that this hotel predominately caters mainly for its spanish clientel its has to be noted that although the reception staff are extremely obliging the hotel on first impression is not partcularly welcoming to english guests, although this is just my opinion, if you would care to spare a few minutes reading my review of our experience you may avoid making a mistake that could seriously spoil what should be an enjoyable holiday. This hotel totally fails to cater for mature or younger couples as all rooms have SINGLE beds only. You would certainly not wish to spend your honeymoon here and is not compatible for any couples that have the benefit of a normal stable relationship! However if this not deter you after the initial surprise of the single beds, should you decide to visit the restaurant for your evening meal you will be astounded by the quality of the food which you may help yourself to in large amounts should you so desire. On a serious note the food in this hotel falls far short of what can be reasonably expected from a 3 star hotel. To draw a comparison earlier in the year, my partner and I had the pleasure of staying at the Posideon Playa on the Pontiente beach which was also a 3 star hotel. I have to say that although the Posideon Playa was also a 3 star hotel, I have to conclude that the Posideon Playa is 3 times better than the ¨Hotel¨ Cabana. I was amazed to discover that in the Cabana you can not purchase coffee or tea with your meal without having to leave the restaurant and join the queue in the public bar. Water is available at a cost of 1.70 euro. Refreshments are not included in your evening meal, something to consider if you are with children. Complimentary tea and coffee are not suplied to your hotel room. Ladies be aware that hair dryers need to be obtained from reception for a returnable deposit. On a brief positive note the rooms and facilites are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness as is the pleasant pool area. The Hotel Cabana is not particularly easliy accessible to persons with walking difficulties but the SINGLE beds may be appealing to elderly or unhappily married guests. If you are not elderly or go to bed before midnight, do not expect to purchase a cup of tea or coffee as there is not even a kettle or vending machine available so like a prisoner you will be required to wait until the so called restaurant opens at 08:00. In fact I actually waved goodbye to the night reception person from our balcony as he made his hasty escape at around 06:00. I wandered around aimlessly for the next couple hours till I was able to obtain a much awaited cup of coffee, passing my time expressing pleasantaries with the morning reception staff and happily completing my customer care satisfaction questionaire, which will probably make interesting reading before it finally ends up in the nearest rubbish bin. Refering back to my earlier comments on the cleanliness of the Hotel Cabana, I almost forgot to mention that today my partner found a razor blade under one of our SINGLE beds as she attemped to place them together to get a liittle nearer to me. I joked that the razor blade was easily explained as the last occupant had tried to slit his wrist because his romantic break was ruined due to the fact his seperate beds were in seperate rooms on different floors! Thats a joke by the way, but nothing about this dump would surprise me. As you can tell this has not been a happy stay, but dont let this deter you from staying in Benidorm, just make sure you avoid The Hotel Cabana at all costs and this was not a cheap hotel! Incidentally I would have posted my comments on the hotels website which is conveniently out of service at the present time. However if someone would care to forward this email to them the address is www.grupobali.com. In fact I would be very grateful for my comments to be posted on all hotel review websites so there are no further unsuspecting victims that may unwittingly have the misfortune to to end up in this dump of a ¨hotel¨ and I use the word hotel loosely! Anyway enough ranting from me, I hope you all get the picture and if all goes well we should make our escape at 19:15 on Monday 28th July 2008. By the way I recommend you avoid the security gate by the pool as this is often guarded and your key will not let you at certain times during the day. (And that is not a joke). Seriously The Hotel Cabana is definately one to be avoided and we will not be returning under any circumstances! Thank you for taking the time to read this review, and although I am trying to make light of a bad situation, I sincerley hope this information will be of good use to someone. Regards, From the prisoners of Room 509, The Hotel Cabana, Benidorm. "

"when we arrived at the hotel, the gentleman at the desk told us our all inclusive deal was all inclusive light.never heard of it before.it was a lovely hotel, very clean, staff friendly enough, but food wasn't that great.wouldn't recommend this hotel for all inclusive as it isn't,maybe for half board.this hotel was quite a bit away from the centre of benidorm.not legible for people with pushchairs and wheelchairs as there are steps to climb up to the hotel.wouldn't go back, but will go back to benidorm."

"i spent 7 nights at the cabana hotel with my boyfriend. ive rated the hotel as 8/10 because it was very clean and generally well organised. most guests have noted that the all inclusive light option is disapointing so i booked full board after reading these reviews. the food is good, all you can eat for 3 meals a day which have 3 courses each. i was very satisfied with this - the food isnt too "spanish" theres different food to suit everyone. the pool was disapointing. the area around the pool is very good though. the hotel is only 10 minutes from the sea front - but for younger people looking for night life i advise you book a hotel on the busier levante beach rather than poniente. if i was to visit benidorm again i would book cabana hotel!"

"Just had 5 sunny days here. The hotel was clean and staff friendly and helpful. The food was ok . A bit dissapointed it was Light All Inclusive, so drinks not available all the time also there were no snacks as these are just for the summer months. Lovely view from our balcony. A nice part of town, quiet, a fair walk to the buzzing part of Benidorm. The hotel is popular with the elderly spanish and all evening entertainment is for them. There are a few Chinese restaraunts which are excellent and very cheap! Also if you miss Britain go to the Stretford End bar, good beer, food and tv. "

"Had a nice week at the Cabana the reception and the hotel seemed very clean. The food was very spanish orientated and not very nice! We were lucky the weather was hot as there would be nothing else to do if it was bad. The music and entertaintment in the hotel was rubbish and they even cancelled sky sports after 2 days!!!!!!!!!! A friend on the same floor as myself did not have her pillow cases, sheets, or towels changed all week, she was ill for two days and needed to feel clean, the maid should have asked if she wanted to be changed instead of leaving her room because she was in it. The sheets were finally changed the night before we were leaving. The lifts were very tempremental!! The hotel was very difficult to get to and not at all suitable for people who find it difficult walking. taxis are a must you will need one in this hotel. "
