Got ripped off
"I did enjoy staying at these apartments until I got home and checked my credit card to find that â¬80 had been taken out of my credit card account by the company that run these apartments. I emailed them to ask why and was told that when cleaning the apartment they found that a sofa had been damaged and were blaming me. I have replied to them that I totally dispute this. There were 2 of us in the apartment, we are both quite old and apart from sitting on the sofa normally we could not have caused the damage that they are blaming us for. If we had children and they had been jumping on the sofa perhaps that would have caused the damage, but we didn't, we had no children and just sat on it normally. I think they are blaming us for something that was broken before we went into the apartment or was partially broken and us sitting on it made it worse, BUT WE DID NOT CAUSE THE DAMAGE. There was quite a lot of dust under the sofas when I cleaned during the week so I am sure that the sofas had not been moved before we went in, so had not been checked for damage then. When we arrived at the apartment the kettle and the toaster were not working, which had not been checked and I reported them to the housekeeper, which she replaced. Unfortunately, I did not think to check the sofas. I should also have made sure the housekeeper checked the apartment before we left and to return my credit card deposit, but as we had an early flight home, she just told us to make sure we left the keys in the box. I didn't see a problem with this as I knew the apartment was fine, no damage, everything working, and I had cleaned it the day before. There is nothing I can do about this, they knew that the apartment had not been checked before me leaving so they could blame me for anything. Perhaps I got off lightly, they could have taken the whole â¬150. Lesson learn! "

"Was at apartments for Easter break. Nice and clean. Quiet area, short walk from beach and main entertainment areas. No rowdy stag/hen parties in the rooms so no disturbances. Benimar was it usual mixture of kiss me quick and geriatric scooter drivers, although more of the youth were on the scooters. Chillo"

"We have just returned from a week stay at the benimar and i cannot fault it in any way! Although the pool area is small we had it to ourselves most days so this as not a problem. The apartment re clean, large and have everything you will need. Plenty of towels in the room to last a family of 4 a week. The appartments are ideal for famlies as they are within walking distance of the entertainment but far enough away so you can sleep at night. The barman at the benimar also makes the best coffee ever!! To eat out I would highly reccomend roosters were most main meals are 5.50, which include rib eye steak and the best barbecue ribs in benidorm (my daughter was devastated when they ran out of them on our last night), also try the bread and ali oli which is delicious. Another good place was the ibrox bar which served 8 oz steak and from 6pm you pay the price of the time you order e.g. we ordered at 6.30 so paid 6 euro 30 for our steak which was delicious and cooked perfectly. For entertainment I would highly recommend stardust which has tribute acts on all night and comedians, we seen robbie williams who was excellent and comedian tony scott, i still have jaw ache from laughing. The water ark is also good and is worth the expensive price of 25 euro's as you can get there at 10 am and stay until 8 pm. All in all our holiday was great and we plan on returning to the benimar next year for a couple of weeks"

We have jus returned from our holiday in...
"We have jus returned from our holiday in Benidorm and stayed at the Benimar for 2 weeks. We found the rooms to be very spacious, air conditioned, clean and comfortable and the washing machine was a godsend. We found the pool and the sunbathing area to be quite small, but we knew this after we had booked. After a few days spent by the pool it got a bit boring so we preferred the beach. This was a downfall as it cost each of us 4 Euros per bed. However, we had friends at another hotel (Sol Pelicanos) and their pool was huge so we spent our time there. The staff were pretty quiet but being Spanish it was expected. The barman (I think his name is Alan or Andy) spoke to my parents a few times and they seemed to like him. However, on the day we had to leave the apartment, the maids came bursting in the door to clean it for the new arrivals, making it hard for us to get our cases out the door as their stuff was in the way. We were told to leave at 10am and they arrived at 9:45am. The apartment was approx 15-20 mins walk from the square where the nightlife was and only 10 mins from the start of the old town. It was centre of most things and not too bad if you don't mind the the drunken walk home hehe. We would recommend the show "We Will Rock You" which is shown every night in Rockerfellas. It is a tribute act to Queen, the 4 men are fantastic, we went to see it twice. Also, you cant go to Benidorm and not see Sticky Vicky, we happened to be in a bar where she was performing and after a few drinks, she is quite entertaining. Her daughter Demaria Leyton also performs in the same bars, she does a Contortionist act followed by the same act as her mum! For food, I would highly recommend the Wooky Hollow or Yorkshire Pride (opposite each other). For those who are staying in the new town, there is a Wooky and Yorkshire Pride 2 thats closer. The meals range from 5-10 Euros but they are worth every cent! For cheap drinks go to Jumpin Jacks - San Miguel 1.30, Vodka and mixer 3 Euros for 2. It rained for 4 days we were there so we stayed in a few nights. One of the nights we had Chinese from down the road...which turned out to be lovely. The staff were lovely too, gave us a free glass of coke each while we waited for the take away and a complimentary ornament. If you come out of the apartments, turn left then right (at the music studio) then right again, its the one on the right. I wouldn't recommend to go in September as it is not as lively but it is good for older people or couples. I would definitely go to Benidorm again but only for a weekend as 2 weeks is a bit too long. I would also go half board as we ended up spending £800 on food/drink alone. Be aware that it is quite expensive."

"We have just returned from a most enjoyable week in the Benimar apartments. My wife and myself had not been back to benidorm for over twenty years but were pleased with both the resort and the apartments. The apartments were clean and spacious with air con in the bed room and living room, we needed it as the tempratures were in the thirtys in the day time and in the twentys at nights. We were on the top floor and had two balconys there was a nice breeze and a wonderfull view across the hotels. The staff are very friendly and helpfull. We changed our money at reception as it was more or less the same as the exchange. The Rooms were clean tidy and well equiped. The kitchen had everything in you could want even a washing machine. The rooms are cleaned once per week with change of laundry. A very good weeks holiday in nice apartments for the price. "

nightmare in benidorm!!
"This must be one of the worst apt in benidorm, having booked a week with "sunrise" part of the thos cook group you would expect a fairly decent room,on arriving late we went straight to bed on pulling back the blankets found the sheets had large holes and were torn from edge to edge.we decided to report this to reception(8.30/4.30)having waited 30mins still no one appeared we decided to give it up as a bad job and have breakfast in the cafe,we selected a meal and waited in vain the guy behind the counter was busy talking to his mate and smoking rather heavy,we left never to return.other guests complained to us regarding no heat/no hot water/etc/...reception was a joke, there was never anyone in attendance..at no time did we see a rep.finally on the day of leaving again four of us waited 35mins at reception to hand in our keys,no appology from the surly receptionist!!..when ask where we could leave our luggage she simply replied by the bar in the cafe!!(this was in full view of the general public)..Be advised avoid this place at all costs."

omg what a dump
"this was the worst place i stayed in the rubbish was left to you to take outand the apartment was dirty. the children were bored because this was supposed to be a "family apartment" but with no entertainment and having no gates or barriers to the very busy road outside you have to have eyes in the back of your head!!! the kids pool cut my grandsons foot quite badley and this could have ruuined the whole holiday, but he is a reslient little boy and never let it spoil his first holiday abroad (he is 4 years old) what ever you do dont let your children do anything wrong because the receptionist will literally push your kids around she did this to another customer!!!!! The bar staff are great so mayb it is not all bad lol. The tiles are loose around the pool so becareful. We will never visit again. If you want to let your kids eat for free go to the GAME BIRD free fod for kids under 12 with adults eating and good food too."

"My wife and I stayed there last October for one week and to be perfectly honest had no problems what so ever with the accommodation. The apartments were clean, large, maid service was fantastic, and we even had a washing machine in the room. My wife is disabled and the property is disabled friendly, close to all amenities and food was good and really cheap. The staff was friendly also, would highly recommend these apartments to any one as it is close to the old town and the new town."

Benimar Apartments ...Never again!
"Went Aug 06 with my wife and kids, got a great deal but wish i booked different apartments! If you`ve read about the thefts that occur... believe me it`s true! They break into your rooms when you`re out and rip the safes off the wall and nick everything of value. It happenend to a family on the floor beneath us. I spent all week carrying all valuable items with me , what a pain. Anyone can just walk off the street and straight into the lifts or stairs and check who`s in or out! The rooms are very basic, but clean! Not very toddler friendly. The staff seemed ok. Pool is tiny and was full of "foulmouthed" mancunian kids. The apartments are well situated and everything you need is within 20 minute walking distance, good job really cos its hard to find a parking space so don`t waste your money hiring a car! it gets very busy and noisy but you soon get used to it and the views from the balcony are good especially when it gets dark cos the whole town just comes to life! There is a really smart hotel over the road called the "Poseidon" and you can go over there and see the cabarets etc. I would never go back to the Benimar with my family, it is just not suitable or comfortable enough and i don`t want to lose my wallet!!!"
