Disgusted and heart breaking
"AVOID THIS HOTEL!!! We recently stayed here to celebrate my birthday where my husband presented me with a sapphire and diamond eternity unfortunately it was slightly too small so hid it inbetween clothes thinking it would be safe but NO!! Whilst we were out enjoying ourselves a member of the staff came into our room and stole the ring.. totally devastated and heartbroken.. we informed hotel manager as soon as we realised it was missing just to be told because we hadn't paid them money to use their safe it was all our fault..unbelievable!!!!! .We will never stay here ever again and advise everyone not too leave any thing you value in your room! hidden away or not the thieves will find it.."

Excellent with few drawbacks
"Check in took a long time, rooms basic, but you don't go on holiday to sit in your room, we was a party of eight myself my husband and family with there partners (6 aged between 19 & 25 )we went all inclusive and we found food drinks etc ok for our group although two of the lads tended to eat out a lot. Myself and my husband tended to stay in the hotel and our younger members enjoyed the nightlife all in all a excellent choice for a mixed aged family holiday."

"This hotel is comfy, convenient & well positioned in the center of Las Americas. Food is delicious, staff pleasant, back gate onto promenade, pools are bathed in sun all day with plenty of loungers. Bliss!!! Can't understand what these people are moaning about. Can't wait to go back in July this year. "

4* No way
"We checked in on September 18th for 10 nights All Inclusive. Staff were mostly friendly. Easy and quick check in. As already stated by reviewers this is not a 4* hotel. It may have been in 1979 going by the photos at the entrance but now it is run down and in need of a full refit. It might scrape 3* but no more. Our room was reasonable, could do with a repaint not the cleanest but not too bad, There were hairs on the bathroom floor when we went in to the room, beds a bit uncomfortable could do with new mattresses at least. Air con in our room 458 just worked and was a bit feeble. Air con in the rest of the hotel was very rarely on. So it was very warm inside. The meals are reasonable unless you are a very fussy eater. If you are a fish lover there are various types of unnamed grilled fish (bones still in) served every day at lunch and dinner, pork is on most days very occasionally lamb and steak in various guises and lots of salad. Desserts/fruit selection were almost the same all the time. All inclusive is a bit of a con as you only get beer in a 250ml container, plastic at the pool bar, glass at the inside bar, you can't get a pint. Bloody Mary's, Mohito's and a lot of other not very fancy drinks cost upwards of 2euro's extra on A.I package. But if you ask for Vodka & Tomato juice and add your own Worcester sauce etc. you get it on A.I. Not very good A.I package at all. Entertainment is rubbish! You can play bingo, a line gets you a free cocktail, a full house a bottle of Champagne. Then the mostly pathetic "entertainers" start at approx. 22:00 for 50mins. So plan to go out at night. Would not recommend AI as it excludes too much. The noise after midnight is atrocious and goes on 'til 6am. It is impossible to block out because balcony doors don't shut tightly enough. The location of the hotel is ideal if you are going clubbing every night. If you want to sleep between midnight and 6am go somewhere else! "

Food Not so Glorious food
"We have just returned from a week fully inclusive at the ~Sol Tenerife, the hotel itself is kept very clean, the bar staff were lovely and generally very friendly, as were the pool attendants and cleaners around the pool area. Unfortunately the restaurant, really lets this hotel down, its staff hardly spoke to us and it was rare to see a smile. The food was awful, meat and fish were not always cooked through, food in the chaffing dishes would be cold or luke warm, as an example one morning a tray of baked beans were put out, as they had just come straight from the kitchen, I assumed these would be hot, but again same old story luke warm.. VEGETARIANS. If you like salad thats great news because 90% of the time thats all you can eat, they put meat into almost every dish, rice, cous cous, pasta, pasta sauce, soup and even some vegetables. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was virtually left overs from the previous day and was very much the same, if you like left over veg which included cauliflower, brocoli and sprouts for breakfast then this is the place to eat. However, despite the food we had a lovely time and loved Tenerife. Take plenty of money as it cost £1.70 (2 euros)for a tin of coke and we found most things were dearer than back here in England"

"We have just arrived back from a week at this hotel. Don't go there unless you like LOUD MUSIC! The hotel is next to Veronica strip which is a row of nightclubs. We were in room 625 (having asked for a quiet room.....) and our balcony overlooked the strip. Music went on until gone 4 am EVERY DAY, it was unbearable. We asked to be moved to a quieter room and were told they could not move us until the Friday (4 days after arriving). A new room was given to us on the Friday around noon (room number 605) which was across the corridor to room 625 and on the other side of the hotel. The room itself was a much better standard but we could still hear the noise! The food at this hotel is bland and nearly the same choice each day (soup was okay). No way is this hotel a 4* hotel. VERY DISAPPOINTED. WILL NOT BE GOING THERE AGAIN."

Nice Hotel, would recomend it!
"Me and my boyfriend stayed at this hotel in Tenerife for 7 nights in mid Jyly 2009 (All Inclusive). We really enjoyed staying here, and have no complaints. We arrived about 9pm an we quecked in straight away with no problems. Its a nice clean hotel, he lounge area is nice, plenty of space to sit and relax, with internet access. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. As the nightclubs were right beside the hotel we asked for a room where we could not heared much noice in the night and that was no problem. The room was clean, and the staff changed bed sheets, towels and cleaned the room frequently. There was a nice view from the balcony looking over the sea. We could hear a bit of music in the night up to about 2pm but nothing much as we closed the balcony door and we slept ok every night. The food was lovely, we ate so much! plenty of choice for anyone and they cooked something different everyday. The outside area was nice, one big pool, a small one and another one for the children. We had no problems finding somewhere to sunbathe, but there was no umbrella's left sometimes. We did not see much english people staying at this hotel but all the staff knew english very good. Night enternainment was good, discos for the kids, a magician wich we enjoyed, different kind of people signing and dancing, and the entertainer manager was really good, he was a nice man and made the entertaining very funny and we had a great laugh. Location of the Hotel is good, right by all the nightclubs wich we didnt go in to but would recomend if we were in a group of friends. All the shops/bars/restraunts were close, just a munite walk. One night we walked a couple of miles to the next village by Las Amercias wich i think wan Los Cristianos, and we really enjoyed there. It was a lovely place with nice shops and the atmoshere was brilliant there in the night. We recomend Los Cristianos too. Sol Tenerife is also right by the beach , just less than a minute walk wich was very good and there we went on the padalos. I really do recomend Sol Tenerife for anyone who wants a nice relaxing holiday in the sun. "

"As many people have stated this is not a 4* hotel. The food was quite revolting and not of a standard that you would expect from a 4* hotel. The hot food was never hot, more warm and sometimes bordering on cold. Breakfast was OK- as long as it wasnt the cooked breakfast. I had a room in tower A which over looks veronicas- so noisy it was a joke, veronicas keeps going until 6am! we could have moved rooms (and a couple who were with the same tour operator were moved on day 2) but we couldne be bothered. We found that if you turned the air con on high (which was noisy!) it sort of drowned out the boom of veronicas- did mean we were in bed with socks, pjs and blankets!! The room was fine, cleaned everyday, acceptable (but not 4* standard think more travel lodge). The staff were rude and very abrupt. However the entertainment staff were very friendly and worked really hard and should not be tarred with the same brush as the rest of the staff. Pools were OK and we always got a sunbed, got up for breakfast at about 9.30, down by pool by 10 and never had a problem. Would i go back? probably not because i know there are much nicer places to spend my money in, however i had a really good sunny holiday with a friend. would i reccommend this hotel? if you dont expect it to be 4* standard and are happy with less then i guess so. if you want to spend your night in veronicas then it is perfect! I read all the reviews before i went (after i had booked it) and was dreading the hotel, but it was not as bad as i had expected- not totally bad but definitely not great either! "

"Here is my honest opinion of this hotel and location. I normally read reviews and think .... there is always someone moaning on..... but with this hotel everything people have said on here is soooo true. Location, right on the beach which was good. Entertainment not bad. Beds/bedroom fine, they all have a hairdryer, fridge, cooker hob. Right now that Ive got the good things out of the way will get onto the bad things. Kids entertainment none existant. Food not nice at all, I would recommend getting some of the crusty rolls, butter, ham, cheese and tomatoes taking them up to your fridge and making your dinner as you get cutlery in your room, we did this every day and saved a fortune on lunch. Breakfast: Not very nice at all but this was better than the main evening meal, they have green beans for breakfast! Evening meal: I would recommend that you eat out, not much choice for kids either, for 2 waters and a coke it was nearly £6.00. "

"Firstly, it cannot possibly achieve 4* status - think 2* plus. 11 floors, dozens of rooms on each floor and 2 small lifts, one dodgy. Takes 10 mins to get up/down every time. No bell boy for your luggage and no trolleys. The pool areas are actually very nice and the location of the hotel is good for most areas of Las Americas. Food is poor to average, but hot food at breakfast is inedible - and at 10am sharp they clear the place like lightning. Dinner is just ok. The rooms are 2-3* standard & ok-ish. The above is the good news. The bad news is that Veronicas 1 is 50 metres away. Boom, bang, boom all night until 6am - litrerally. It is extremely loud and light sleepers will not be able to bear it i.e. my wife. Heavens knows how you would cope with children. We tried to change rooms but there was a list of 40 or so other people on the waiting list meaning a week's wait. Go if you're desperate, otherwise avoid at all costs."

"My mother and I visited this hotel on November of last year and we planned to go back this October. Obviously we were happy with all aspects of the hotel and that was even without a good view and we were on the ground floor. I would recommend it at this time of year, lovely views from the pool area and nice food and good service."
