Avoid tour operator on the beach
"We went on holiday and stayed at this hotel on thne 16th may 2011 we had apackage holiday with on the beach and they arranged our flight with ryanair, they did not tell us when we booked about our accomodation they just took our money and when we arrived at our destination we were on a building site the noise was constant and loud we couldnt open the window or doors due to dust and noise and it was 80 degrees, there was no lights on the stairways these were pitch black and i fell over twice and the lifts didnt work, there is no o site entertainment no cafes or resterants on site and the pool area is like a building yard, apparantly on the beach have been told by the hotel to inform their customers prior to booking and paying money but they dont bother to tell you, when we called our tour operator on the beach to state we wasnt happy they were very rude we asked them to move us and they said no then we asked for them to get us a flight back home as we had had enough and again they said no they were very rude and both times we spoke to a man called mark from on the beach, On the plus side thou the hotel staff were very nice kind plesent helpfull and welcoming, every thing was in the room so you didnt need to buy any extras ie.. kettle, toaster etc as i know you sometimes have to pay extra on top for these things at some hotels, My advice to anyone going would be please check the condition of the hotel prior to booking and avoid booking with on the beach."

"Avoid at all costs"
"Feb 11,just returned from a weeks break here and will never return, been twice before and was ok,this time was appauling,NO electricity in the apartments, the complex is running off a generator which was immediately outside our apartment door and has been running 24 hours a day for 5 months now and you cannot escape the noise wherever you go on the complex.Forget complaining to the management as we were offered another room above the bar and was told with a smirk that it was that or nothing basically, take your business elsewhere and save yourself the disappointment of this place! Puablo Torvisas studio
"We spent two weeks here in the apartment complex, last March and found the staff most helpful. The day we arived we were given a studio on the front, which was OK but absolutely stank of smoke. That night was horendous because of the noise from the bar and overnight noise from the fallout from the nightclub! Shouting, screaming and cars hooting until 5.00am in the morning. Enough was enough, I asked for a move and was give a ground floor in apartment block D, Much better, with a small garden. Altogether we had a good two weeks after the initial catastrophe but be aware this is a timeshare place, and those apartments are a lot better and have extras thrown in, than the package operators. There is a TV, Safe both of which you have to pay and it doesnt come cheap!! Would go back again, given the right studio. as the position is very good although the area is now looking very tired due to the closure of a lot of shops!"

One word - COCKROACHES!!
"Very dated hotel - dirty and uncomfortable Greeted by 3 cockroaches in our room on night one. Same again on night 2, same again on night 3 - droppings all over work tops. This was more than the normal amount of cockroaches you'd expect to find in a "hot climate". Thomson rep useless and English manager at hotel abrupt, rude and not interested at all. After complaining for 2 days, finally got moved to another dated, dirty and uncomfotable room, but thankfully without the cockroach colony! Avoid this hotel (unless you're a dirt and roach lover!)"

Basic but good
"I stayed here for a week in august last year with a group of friends. We arrived late at night but staff were very helpful and helped us to our rooms with our lugggage. The room itself was very basic but was clean and comfortable. The only problem was the lack of air conditioning but after a few nights we got used to it, i was told that you could hire a fan for around 15euros per week however we never did this. Our room was just above the main entertainment so could get very noisy at night. It would usually finished around 11ish but as we were normally out we werent too bothered by this. There is a choice of two restaurants in the hotel which were reasonably prices and had very friendly staff. The pool area and pool was clean and a nce place too relax if you could get a sunbed early enough. The hotel itself is in a great location, very close to the beach and shops which was great. Could get very annoying around meal times with people trying to get you into their places but you learn to avoid them. The hotel in not in las americas as we were informed it it in las torviscas so you will need to take a short taxi ride to gt to the heart of the nightlife which isnt a problem really as the taxis are cheap and there are always plenty around. Overall this was a great holiday and i would recommend this hotel to others. It is basic but if your not going to be spending much time in your room then this wont be a problem. I will be goin back."

First impressions of the hotel were good...
"First impressions of the hotel were good. Clean reception and pool are looked very nice. We arrived at night. The room was very very dated, no air con, unbearable, hired a fan, still unbearable, the bath was mouldy, there were ants, towels changed twice, bedding changed once and the toilet... well if you flushed it at night it would refill for 8 hours making so much noise we had to have the fan on the noisey level to block it out. Room right above bars so very noisey, not a problem for us as we are young, but people out on street till 5 in the morning is a little off putting. The pool was maintained ok, always someone fishing things out of it, but just dont look too closely at the sides or you will never go in. Staff at pool bar very friendly, staff in reception werent that helpful but luckily we didnt need much help. However, one of the BEST holidays we have ever had as four of us went and we made it great and to be honest the hotel wasnt that bad, just being picky. GREAT location!!!!! Plus they are refurbishing so would definately go back when air con installed! Dont let this review put you off as a holiday is what you make it!!!!! "

"dirty - bed bugs in childrens beds due to dirty covers, had to spray and get rid of the bedding, towels never changed - the maids just hung up the dirty ones again. toilet would not flush - was repaired next day but then developed a new fault, mould round bath, tiles broken off in a lot of places in swimming pool. apart from that - one good point was the position - right next to beach and the colonial bar - nice place to eat,"

Different room types
"People going here need to remember that there are 4 different types of rooms ( all use the same common facilities) 1. Private owned - private rents 2. Resort controlled rents 3. Tour opertaor apts 4. Timeshares I have stayed 3 times in latter , and they have all been good - now with decent lcd TV , air con, spa bath ... but don't expect that in the other types"

the honeymoon from hell
"I must admit, that after ready reviews of these apartmnets from many different travel agents and other holiday makers, i thought that it seemed to be a nice place to spend my honeymoon, given that i didn't want anything to posh! the first thing that i found when we arrived was that the man on reception spoke very little english and was not helpful at all in showing us where our room was and there was no-one to help us with our luggage and given the fact that we had a toddler with us, no-one seemed to care. we then spent the first 5 nights of our honeymoon infested by coachroaches, it was the worst experience of my life. i tried to contact our travel rep and was told that i was over reacting and to just accept the fact that this was what we were going to have to put up with the entire time we where there. i have an awful argument with the manager on the monday morning, who informed me that she didn't to move us but given the fact that it was supposed to be our honeymoon she would move us to an apartment that was owned buy a lady who was not using it during our stay, this was done on the understanding that we would not take things any further when we returned home. the apartment that we were moved too was lovely, the lady that owned it had done some work to it and it was nicer, much much nicer that the ones the company owned themselves. would never ever stay in these again."

"Very basic appartment, but that's what you get if you book through a well known travel agent. Slightly dark inside and though patio area was nice the grass area was basically weeds. As our apartment was on the back there were times during the night that it could be very noisy. If you book a studio remember that you will all be sleeping in one room. Maid came every day except Sundays. Not many parasols to go round and people were getting up very early to get sunbeds. When you go to lunch you have to get a ticket to put on your sunbed otherwise the lifeguard may remove your towels. We did this one day and when we came back the lifeguard had put a warning note with a time on, he totally had dismissed the tickets which were clearly on view on the sunbeds. Pool was in good need of a clean - no filters were in operation and the ceramics inside the pool were dirty and broken. Outside area is in need of some attention, with broken steps, pavements and bins that are overflowing. Also be prepared for people pestering you to eat in their restuarants."
