"The most awful food ever. Vincent was very nice he was very helpful, but he is only the barman. Management didn't want to know shouted like hyenas in Spanish still don't know what they were saying told them I was complaining on TripAdvisor and holiday watch also travel republic they didn't care was glad to get rid off me because I complained daily."

"What a disappointment food Terrible, Reception Staff uncooperative. Would not stay at this place again and will be telling all my friends about the awful food. 6euros a day for the internet how awful. The only good thing I could say about this place is tat the pool area was quiet and you didn't need to get up early to put towels down the also don't cater for the British. We are used to better FOOD."

"Myself and two other friends (all three of us 20 years old and in college) - stayed in Paraiso del Sol for three weeks for what we thought would be a nice relaxing holiday. Apart from numerous cockroaches and ant infestations that nothing was done about when WE rang reception numerous times, our apartment being robbed was probably the most devastating experience I had during the stay at this hotel. As we had to return home 2 days early, we told reception two days in advance. That night, as normal we locked up the back doors (which also does not come with any secure lock just two doors that come in together and push down handles to "lock"), locked window and headed out the front door which we made sure was securely closed behind us. We took out just one of the two keys we owned and had the other one in the drawer beside our bed for safe keeping. Headed down the strip - which I would highly recommend this area especially for friends holiday, very nice and great fun!... We then headed back to our apartment about 7am, shortly after the nightclubs finish up to find our apartment was trashed. Our suitcases were all turned upside down, stuff everywhere. 2 Ipads were taken (which were hidden under mattresses), ipods, money, cameras and even half full bottles of perfume. We immediately headed down to reception to inform them and they were so unhelpful! They just handed us the phone and said "policia" and ignored us from then on. They said it was nothing to do with them as they're was no forced entry. I found this very convenient as we had approached the staff earlier that evening informing them we were leaving in 2 days time. The fact that there was no forced entry can only suggest that someone had a key as everything was locked up. They then refused to let us see the security camera. I will let you come up with your own conclusion as to who robbed our apartment but you can understand how we were very skeptical especially with no help from the staff. DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A SAFE HOLIDAY."

Best value holiday ever.
"Have just returned from two weeks in the Paradero 1 apartments which are part of the Paraiso complex on 07/06/13. Was all inclusive (well worth paying that bit more). Room was clean and maid service was excellent. Best I've seen. Food in Paraiso restaurant was good and varied. Staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Have read a few poor reviews about this place but I wonder what some people expect for the money. 5* accommodation costs 5* money. This was excellent value. Going back in September. Highly recommend. Value for money
"Playa Paraiso Hotel,Decent hotel and also its sister hotel just next to it which you can use as well if you want,Out the road a bit but plenty of buses outside hotel that will take you around island and also cheap considering the rubbish euro rate,Got this holiday through Thomson Holidays,Half board,Rooms cleaned every day inc fresh towels a first for me on any holiday i've been on,Spot on 10/10 Great pools for the little one,Food was good,Breakfast was always usually the same but they have plenty of other choices so you wont starve,No mystery meat here like some holidays i've been on,Different food every day/night,Entertainment was alright some nights a bit quiet for the us & wee one other nights(try the other hotel and find out what entertainment they have as well if you missed it in your hotel if you were out and about),Most nights we went to the local pubs up the road cheap and cheerful,Brilliant chinease restaurant just next to hotel if you fancy a change(You must try the EL POLLO DE ORO Excellent restaurant we came back late about 1ish and most places were shut(quite little place Playa Paraiso as i said will stay open as long as your there they wont turf you out which is good),Seen that this restaurant was still open and as they had stopped serving at this time we decided to just go in for a night kap anyway the couple said no problem and made us the best steak with the works i've ever tasted inc pizza for the wee one that was the size of a lorries wheel,In which we ended up giving to few lads quietly drinking up the back,BRILLIANT RESTAURANT) Anyway back to what i was saying about drinks hotel as you expected a bit pricey but just have a good swallaw in your room and take it from there the hotel staff are sound they dont bother you as long as your not making an [--] of yourself as this is a very quiet hotel more for families/couples and the old yins ,Large supermarket just 2mins down the road just bought a few litres of san miguel e.t.c and took it in rucksack and sat at pool during the day if we were'nt out and about,Your not ment to as glass is not aloud at poolside which is fair enough considering,But had no hassle at all there just use your common sense when disposing of bottles,Plenty of sun loungers and no germans taxing them early in morning,More spanish oldies than us British but they were sound people. So if your looking for the above holiday give this place a try,If your looking for an alnight partying holiday then go somewhere else it aint for you. S. From Sunny Glasgow"

Excellent base for a party holiday, no complaints, you didn't pay for a 5* hotel!
"This apartments are just great if, like us, you are looking for somewhere to sleep, eat and get ready. We spent everyday at the pool/visiting the local areas and every night out at the strip. When we arrived we were shown to our room which was close enough to the pool. We went out 4 a meal and there are some lovely restaurants, then we headed on a night out - the strip is great for partying the night away. The next morning we realised the apartment above us was having renovations done, though we think it was owned privately because their interior looked completely different from the "custom" apartment. After 3 mornings of being woken at 8am due to renovations, we decided we'd had enough. Well that was not a problem, we were immediately moved to another apartment. There are a few pools but we stuck to a smaller quieter pool closer to our apartment. The pool bar was never open but that was better because on previous holidays we weren't allowed to bring food/drink to the poolside and at 30deg, u don't wanna be buying expensive bottles of water when you have litres of it in your own apartment. We didnt find the complex noisy at all, and we couldnt hear the strip or any pubs nearby which was great. The apartments were cleaned often and I would have no complaints about the service. All in all, we paid £250 each for 7 days inc flights - when you are paying so little, you can't complain about silly things! If u want better service, stay in a 5* hotel, not a 2* apartment. I would never recommend these apartments to anyone 30+, but that said, I would never recommend Playa de las Americas to anyone 30+ unless they were going away with friends and enjoyed nightlife. But I would definitely recommend this to a group of friends or a couple looking for a great central place to stay before heading out every night."

Not the ritz but its good enough!!
"Me and my mate went to paraiso for a week in july for my 18th birthday.. I was quite worried because of all the bad reviews. But we got to reception and they were very friendly and gave us a map of the apartments and showed us where our room was also they have internet for 1 euro which was kl. There was a lot of barbed wire and big gates around the building which was a bit scary but i guess it means its safe! our room was literally right by the pool which was good although the bar by the pool was closed all week, we went into our room to find it very clean.. we had a stove, sink and kettle. There was two big wardrobes and long mirrors on each. Bit of a problem with the plugs there was one by the kitchen sink and one in the toilet next to the sink .. dont really know why but we didnt electrocute ourselves so it was fine and if you have straightners you have to stretch the wires to reach a mirror but its not a big problem. The balcony faced a building site which was so noisy early in the morning but we just laughed it of.. you cant be too picky.. and a few resturants which were really nice especially the pizza snack place BEST PIZZAS ever.. but u did get a little bit of a view of the sea and veronicas strip and you can hear exactly what song veronicas strip have on because it iss loudd but we didnt mind because we wer out most nights anyway. it was a 5 minute walk to the beach and strip which was so good and a little tip Dont wear heels because the pavements arent very safe!! Our favoourite bar was Yordys thats a good place for cheap drinks and shots- good place to start your evening. And monday and thursdays FOAM PARTY at bobby's thats a must do its amazin best night ever dont wear anythinnn nice thoo we wore bikinis n dungarees because u literally get drenched!! The hotel at night especially around 4am till 6 is very noisyy were everyone is coming back drunkk and loud but it was funny and be warned of the security guards that walk around they are very strict they tried to get me and my mate nicked one night just because we went swimming.. and they got really agressive with us so we didnt do that again.. Definatly do NOT recomend this hotel to older people as its quite young and if you want a peaceful holidaayy this probably isnt the best place to go but for young people its really good it defiantly made my holiday and i would go back anyday!"

"Why didn't I read the reviews before I went. The first room we had faced north, which made it feel like the Black Hole of Calcutta. It backed onto a road, which had a 'Geordie' pub closeby. The owner, who thought he could sing, treated us to a Karioke every night - he started at 10pm and finished at 2am. He couldn't have had any customers because he was the only one who got up. The second room we had was slightly better. We did the wrong thing and booked half board. The best meal I had there was two slices of cucumber (the tomatoes were rotting) We had to eat out every night."

Cheap, cheerful and close by!!
"We had not read many reviews about these apartments before we went on holiday so we were nervous and excited. When we arrived we just couldnt believe how close it was to veronicas strip. It is basically on it! We checked in, no problem at all and were lead to our room. It was very plain and basic, however there was still a working cooker and fridge to store our things:) We noticed a few cockroaches in our extractor fan. however these were dead and could have easily been moved however wen we went to reception to inform them and ask them to remove them they were so nice and immediately gave us a new room without asking! We actually were brought to a nicer room on the second floor, everything worked not one problem and no cockroaches! Food in the hotel is cheap and drinks basic. everything you really need for a s/c holiday! After all your mainly out al day so nothing to complain about! Pool got crowed and had to get up early for sun loungers however we didnt mind this as we spent alot of time at the beach, which was about 4mins walk! You should try the chinese restuarant directly facing these apartments! Its so cheap and gorgeous food! I would also recommend talking a walk to the quitier resort puerto colon, there is a entertainment resturaunt and for a 3course meal and a drink or two for both of us it was only like 23euro! Would recommend this resort!"

Cheap, cheerful, fun and friendly
"If you're looking for friendly, fun and functional accommodation, this is perfect but if you're looking for luxury, you should look elsewhere. The apartments have everything you need as long as you're not too fussy. They most certainly could be done with refurbishment, but they have everything you require as long as you're not planning on staying in your apartment for anything other than sleep. The apartments are cleaned every two days but as there are constantly cleaners on the go, I'm sure if you required anything additional, it wouldn't be a problem. There are several pools that you can use, all of which are fairly small but perfectly suitable. There is an abundance of sunbeds so no need to get up early to save one. What is does provide is extremely friendly staff - Stefan, Noria and the rest of the bar staff were extremely nice and made our evenings at the bar all the more enjoyable, Chris and Sacha who were in charge of evening entertainment were very friendly, the reception staff were very helpful and the cleaning staff were efficient. The evening entertainment consisted of everything from magicians, eagle and reptile shows, bbq's to musicians. There are also quizzes, bingo, happy hour for drinks, and drink all you can evenings. If you don't fancy staying in, it's an ideal location for the local nightlife, Veronicas and Linekers but it's far enough away to be peaceful and quiet if that's what you are after. The beach is only a 5 minute walk away, as is the main bus station which offers cheap travel to all areas of the island. Aqualand and Siam Park are within fairly easly walking distance (as with most places in Las Americas, they are on a hill) although free buses to these and other venues can be found at bus stops not far away (beside the Oro Blanco apartments). The food in the bar is cheap and cheerful consisting of the expected burgers, toasties, pizza's etc. There is also the option of eating at the buffet restaurant across the road which is very reasonable. With many other pubs and restaurants within easy walking distance, you won't be stuck! I would recommend the Hong Kong Buffet which is the same distance again away from the bus station - 6.50 euro for all you can eat Chinese. Everyone that we spoke to staying there seemed to be having a great time. There are a mixture of nationalities, although it's predominantly British guests. It seems like it would be more of an 18-30 type establishment during the summer due to it's location and price but when we were there, there was a good mix of all ages. All-in-all, if you are looking for accommodation that is a base rather than a second home and you're up for fun, this is great."

had a ball
"Myself and 4 friends stayed here in August this year for 1 week. And I have got to say I had the best time! i was a bit unsure about going to Tenerife but it was well worth it! The apartments are great! really good location friendly staff and very clean! They are basic enough but have absolutely everything you need! The pool bar serves food from morning until evening and there was entertainment every evening - however we never stayed around for this! We ate in a bar called the Wigan pier - good food and an hillarious kabret act with crystal something or other! and on another nite there was a ronan keatin act as well as a stand up comedian! This was always a good start to our night! We then would head on to Yeats or linekars and down to mette! brilliant nites crak in all 3 and finish the nite off in Tramps or rags they both go on until all hours - great for a lively holiday! Tenerife in generaa is quite cheap some lovely restaurants! all in all we had a brilliant experience and genuinely did not want to come home!"

it was ok
"when we arrived we were shown to our room and we were pleasantly suprised the appartments were quite nice they consisited of a bedroom bathrom and lounge/kitchen. kitchen consisted of a fridge, hob kettle. we went on half board basis which was ok food was bad not much choice at all and tastless although there was chips we lived on chips all week we had six days there and on the last day we had a ant infestation we left for breakfast and by the time we came back the room was covered in ants i promptly rang reception and they said they would come and sort them out nothing happened!!! in the room there was a timetable for cleaning different tasks were undertaken every day we never had a problem with the cleaners but the electrics left alot to be desired open sockets holes in the wall with wires poking out. we also could never get into our room cos the doors were hard to open we had to go to reception several times to get them to open the door. the entertainment was poor kareoke every night we spent most nights in our room. the staff though were lovely and very polite some of them got used to us and reccognised us by the end of our stay we did not even have to ask for drinks ha just bought them over because he knew what we ordered."
