"Visited this hotel in April 2016, booked 2 rooms via h10 website in September 2015, arrived at hotel to find only one room had been booked, luckily had my paperwork to hand, 1 hour later the second was given for 1 night and we were told to check out the next day as the room we were given was someone room not assigned to us. Key card did not work, 4 visits to reception and back and another hour later we eventually got into our room. We paid for a safe and that did not work either, another 4 visits to reception and eventually we had access to the safe. We went to reception the following day to get both rooms sorted so that we were next to each other, we were told by reception to checkout at 12 noon and come back at 1.30pm and we would be given two rooms close to each other, after doing what we were asked, brought all of our luggage to reception at 1.30 we were then told we should of remained in the room. very poor staff at this hotel. Disliked the towel police around the pool, would never visit an H10 hotel again, our holiday had been spoiled and tarnished."

"We arrived on a Friday just after lunch took my daughter 3and half hours to be booked in then entered room to find a man decorating -sons room curtains full of mildew-our bath enamel missing- other son main door lock not working 4 times had to change room cards. Pool attendants remove your towels and belongings from your bed if u leave it more than half hour - even when you go in pool or take part in hotel activities. Could never recommend this hotel. "

Fantastic hotel. Fun even if you don't want to partisapate
"My husband and I stayed here for my 50th birthday. It was fantastic. The entertainment team were the best we have ever enjoyed in a 4/5 star hotel as they didn't annoy you to participate but you could sit up and watch and they were worth watching. The food was great lots of choice and tasty. We upgraded to a sea view well worth it would do that again. Loved this hotel will be back."

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in!
"We stayed here just after New year and booked a few days in this hotel with my wife and 3 year old daughter. I booked a superior room for 2 adults and 1 child. Upon arrival they had lost my booking. Fortunately, I had all the details printed off. All staff on reception were very rude, passing my booking form from one person to the other and, from what I could see, nobody wanted to deal with us. Finally, they said it was sorted it but we had to 20 minutes for the room to be ready. We ended up waiting for an hour. As a good will gesture, they offered us free drinks at the bar (Soft drinks that is), so my family found a table (Which still had not been cleaned) and I waited at the bar......For 20 minutes to be served! Only one person on the bar who seemed to move at a snails pace. Eventually, they gave us the room key for the 6th floor. We went up stairs (With no offer of help with our luggage) got to the room and couldn't believe our eyes that they put us in a room the size of my box room at home with no room to move and 3 fold down beds. Bear in mind, I paid over £220.00 per night for these (B & B). Whilst I was downstairs sorting out the room issues, a maintenance guy went to the room they put us in initially and without knocking, walked straight in to the room where my wife and daughter were to fix the bathroom. Fortunately, they were not using the bathroom or getting changed. I immediately went downstairs to complain and demand a room as ordered and viewed on the website. Eventually, after much arguing, we were placed on the 1st floor into a bigger room, but still fold down beds. Having visited the bathroom, the bidet had a pubic hair on it and was dirty so obviously hadn't been cleaned. I left it and upon the day of leaving, the pubic hair and dirt were still there, so even the cleaners were cutting corners. Upon inspection of the room, there were no leaflets, pamflets or any information on what numbers to call for room service, etc. The mini bar was blowing warm air and there were zero amenities. Not even a kettle! So I went back down to reception, already exhausted from our early morning and trip there, complained again but they refused to change rooms. They told me they would send someone up in 10 minutes to repair the mini bar, yet that didn't happen throughout the stay and said they do not provide kettles and don't know of any hotels that would provide them! Unbelievable since I travel a lot and have never stayed in a hotel without one! We had to go out and buy our own kettle. Half the power sockets in the room didn't work either. Next, we wanted to try room service, however, as I had no information of what number to call for room service, I went down to reception and asked them how I would go about doing this. They informed me that we must actually go to the bar area and order room service from there. We cannot order from the room. I told them this defeats the object as we may as well just go downstairs to eat considering our room was almost 10 minutes walk away from the bar and restaurant. We went for breakfast the following morning. The pastry was ok, however, the cooked food was absolutely disgusting. Cheap sausages. Bacon that had about a cm2 of actual meat (The rest being fat) and everything else was horrible. Needless to say, we didn't bother with breakfast from there again. Finally, the pool. The pool area was lovely, people were everywhere on the deckchairs, bar, etc...Except.............In the pool! I'm not surprised since the temperature of the pool would probably give you a fever. It was absolutely freezing. We never saw one person get in the pool but heard a lot complaining it was way to cold to even dip their feet in. Of course, I tried it myself and concurred. Overall, a huge disappointment. I would not recommend this to anybody and certainly would not stay there again. Don't be deceived by the lovely rooms displayed on the website and the front desk / bar area. We were not the only ones there who were disgusted with the place and the staff. Oh and advertised beach around the corner is not that accurate. It's just a rocky area. Need to get a taxi to the nearest decent beach! "

Not a 4 star, more of a 3 star
"Room very dated, and no space for clothes. Only a small wardrobe for the 2 of us. Very bad start when I found a massive cockroach in fridge. Room very dirty indeed."

Worst Christmas ever!
"We went especially to celebrate Christmas eve at Terrine! What a disappointment! On 24/12/2013 we got to hear that the restaurant would be closed at 20.30 because the staff could celebrate Christmas with their families ......???????????? You work at a hotel who indicates everywhere 'Pensando e ti' ... : we think about you! No, you just think about yourselves! On 25/12/2013 there was a gala-diner ..... looked more like a dinner in a football-canine! and as we had to leave the day after we haven't been able to enjoy everything! Once but never again!"

"We have just returned from a seven night stay at H10 Conquistador and had a really nice holiday. We're quite fussy when it comes to hotels. We like them to be quite stylish and nothing fancy in the rooms (no flowery wallpaper or bedding etc). This suited us very nicely. Basic rooms, some of the furniture a bit dated but absolutely fine. The view from the balcony was amazing. We looked over the pool and the sea and fell asleep to the sound of the waves. We were on the fifth floor and that was a perfect height. Also, the apartments above us were set back so we didn't have anyone above us, which was great. Check-in was really quick. The staff on reception were very helpful and friendly. We saw other reviews saying the food was horrible but how anyone can say that is beyond me! There was so much choice that you could always find something you liked. Lots of salad, potatoes, pasta and rice dishes and meat cooked in front of you. Our only complaints were that the hotel was very large and the grounds around the pool aren't big enough. The sun beds are very close to one another and there aren't enough lifts. You end up waiting for a lift a lot!!! Great location. You can walk to all the bars in las Americas within a few minutes and then there are bars in the other direction towards Cristanos. In fact it's the perfect location, although you don't back onto the beach. It's a rocky area with the sea but just around the corner is the beach, only a few minutes. Very happy with the whole holiday, although would possibly opt for a slightly smaller hotel next time."

"We went to the hotel H10 Conquistador Tenerife this summer. We were disappointed. In our arrival the room was not free then that we had not slept because of air travel. While we had requested a quiet room with the order, we were brought face to the pool before the sound performances that last in the evening until midnight. The room was tiny and joints of doors that open onto the balcony were defective as throughout the hotel. We could not rest because of noise. When one puts a mask, you see that the pool water is not clean. The reception is cold and everything is paid, no generosity, only your money is important. A table, there is no drinking and must buy water that costs 10 times (ten times!) The price of the supermarket. Is it always like this in the Canary Islands and Spain? Fortunately the food was good even if it is not too diverse. The servers are effective, expeditious too, however. The piano bar, the evening is the best place to dream and forget his worries. There was almost a half-pension. Indeed, one can eat and drink all you want for breakfast and there was more hunger at noon. A 50mètres the hotel, near the hotel the Siesta, in a small shopping mall, the internet connection costs 1 euro per hour, if it is 1 euro 10 minutes at the hotel and in addition it works evil. I advise you to go to Jungle Park, not far away and you spend a good day "

After reading reviews of people who have...
"After reading reviews of people who have stayed at this hotel in october 2007 we then booked for 2 weeks in august this year 2008.Everything seemed fine after reading the reviews last year and we looked foward to our holiday with no worries.About 3 weeks before we were due to fly i then went online on this site and a couple of others and read with horror the reports people were putting in about the hotel conquistador. We were that upset at what we read that we actually tried to change hotels but it was the cost incurred if we changed that eventually left us staying with the conquistador. Firstly we checked in in about 10-15 mins at most with the staff being very friendly then we unpacked in what i would call an average family room overlooking the very impressive pool area. How anyone can complain about the food beggars belief!!!! The breakfast is what you can only call comprehensive-you think of it and they had it.They even had a grille on and done you whatever you wanted whether it be a toasted sandwich ot an ommelette filled with whatever you wanted-like ive stated -comprehensive .The evening meal was even better,a selection of cooked meats including beef, pork, chicken, turkey, veil, lamb, rabbit and even duck-all cooked to perfection with which you could combine any selection of vegetables to go with.If cooked meat is not your thing then they had cold cuts of meat and a very large selection of salad and cheeses.again the grille would serve you grilled fish of so many varieties i cant mention them or even a freshly cooked steak! For deserts they always had 6 varieties of ice cream and a selection of cakes etc.We are actually annoyed at these previous comments that nearly caused us to move hotels. How anyone can complain about the staff i dont know as they were always smiling and friendly + most were multi lingual. The only thing i could mention in a negative vain is the fact we had peoples smoke coming into our room through the air con vent from next door to us as they must be connected somehow but this was only for 1 day as we complained and they changed our room immediately. The hotel has a brilliant location right on the sea front with access through a back gate-door with the use of your key card. There is a kids playground right outside if you dont want to use the hotels and you can just sit facing the sea and watch the sun go down in front of you.One slightly negative is that the entertainment goes on until 12 so if you have young kids like us you will not get them to sleep until the noise has finished as it is loud.Someone even complained the tv was mostly foreign channels! what do you expect situated off the coast of Africa? If you have one take a dvd player -the type you use in cars and connect to the room tv with a scart lead and there you go keep your kids happy with their dvds when the racket is going on outside. We noticed as we arrived in the resort that it is different class to anything in the likes of majorca etc and even though the temp reached 41c it does not feel like it with the breeze from the atlantic. We were especially suprised at night as it was quite comfortable walking around as you never got covered in sweat. There is a pick up point for all trips just 150m up the road at the best hotel and you can go on mountain trips -aqualand loro parque etc. I dont know if it is the weakness of the pound against the euro but everything seemed quite expensive so we were very pleased with the quality of the food as we expected to have to eat out.The trips work out pricey for a family of 4 no matter where you go.The hotel is very international so dont go there expecting little britain as you will hear every language on this earth-at least thats what it felt like to us but you still get your fair share of brits.Overall great holiday -great hotel-friendly staff and great food.
