39 Traveller reviews from Holiday Watchdog
"This is a non biased view. I waited over 40minutes to check in even being 3rd in line!!!. There was just one person to check in guest despite being a summer busy time. I believe things are done long hand and they may need to go modern with technology. There was no apology and the customer service was appalling. Just imagine after a 5hours travel and then come to this. No one could advise on where to park our hired car as communication was impossible. Their support staff cant express well in English and didn't care about the customers welfare. Then we were given our accommodation, which they claim to be one of the best, but is a below level apartment and was without any view. The bedroom has a ceiling fan while the lounge was a sauna. We had to buy our fan to use during this holiday!!! Yes it's the truth. There was no welcome pack or any information on how or who to contact for anything whatsoever. Hence, not a good start to our holiday. I cannot recommend this hotel if you want an organized and welcoming place to start off on a great holiday. If you are okay with anything then this maybe for you!!!."

Run by thieves and liars.
"Never, ever use this resort. It is run by thieves and liars. Once they have your money they don't care about you, your family or your holiday. Rooms are poor, catering terrible. Staff lie to you, in particular the resort manager who promised a refund on several occasions for unacceptable services, and never delivered. Ignores all attempts at contact."

"We arrived at the hotel (having previously being shown the show apartment) ours was dirty, run down and full of pools of water, it was obvious that the apartment had not been cleaned prior to our arrival. Each time we showered the bathroom floor flooded with water. The TV reception ranged from bad to atrocious so don't book here if you are intending to take children with you that may want to watch a little TV. The reception area is well maintained and looks very nice, unfortunately that is the only good thing I can say about this hotel, the kitchen units looked as if they were in need of replacing as they were full of chips and scratches also the metal rails on the veranda had rusted through and would have been dangerous to any children staying there, the hotel states on booking.com that each apartment has air con, not true just a fan in the living area. We spoke to several other couples who were staying here and they all had similar problems with the apartments being dirty and run down, would I stay here again - NEVER. "

Extremely happy now!
"Not been to the Flamingo club for a few years, as we have been using our membership to see lots of other countries, so it was lovely to come back and see all the changes that have been going on with the refurbishment and have to say they are doing a great job! We were over the moon with our apartment. The staff were all very helpful and couldn't do enough for us plus they seem to enjoy their jobs and go out of their way to make you welcome, Maybe because we were members but we don't think so, as everyone seemed to be well looked after. Fantastic brand new apartment, really comfortable big beds and very quiet at night. Loved the stylish wet room bathroom with all the mosaic tiles and the kitchen was very well equipped with all you could need. although we didn't really use it, it was nice to make a drink or snack when we wanted. Free WI-fi everywhere on the resort, which was appreciated. Pool area was great with fantastic views over the beach and the marina, The front of the resort is on a road with plenty of shops and restaurants and there are some supermarkets, banks and a chemist nearby. One of the best things about the location of our apartment was the sunsets, which are spectacular looking across to the island of Gomera and out to sea,. Just a pleasure to sit on the terrace and enjoy the sun and views! The resort has a restaurant and bar plus the pool bar but there is so much more choice around if you want to explore and you will find amazing bars, shops and restaurants with great food and prices! Out of the resort and turn right is Fanabe, very chic shops and upmarket bars and restaurants. Try to spend a morning walk to Las Cristianos along the promenade coast walk, again nice shops, bars and restaurants, plus see the Church in the center of the town with all the coffee shops selling delicious cakes. Would we return? ...yes of course, we love it even more now! Lovely people, lovely accommodation and great weather! Look forward to your stay and enjoy! "

Top Marks Flamingo Club!
"We have just returned home from a lovely two week stay at The Flamingo Club. It was our second visit as we loved it so much the first time! 25 Euros in a taxi from the airport. On arrival the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was great and it was situated so we had a view of the pool as well as a sea view, very nice! We had a refurbished room, as the hotel is currently refurbishing throughout, although we didn't really get disturbed by any noise. It was the nicest room we have ever stayed in. The full English breakfasts served at the Pool Bar were really good and excellent value. Lovely to have breakfast overlooking the ocean in the warmth! However, the best thing about The Flamingo Club is the location. It is right on the beach which is great for water sports and next to Puerto Colon Marina, if you go to the main street in front of it, there are lots of lovely shops, supermarkets and restaurants. We like to go to the area known as the Golden Mile, near the Mediterranean Hotel and usually to Harry's bar first for a drink before dinner in one of the many nice restaurants nearby. Our favorite was Empire Modern British, they have a lot of choice and the food is delicious. Our second favorite was the Italian, Bianco just along from the Empire, their pasta dishes were delicious and one of the best lasagnes ever! We also love the restaurants in the San Telmo area of Los Cristianos - Watermelon and Habibi are fantastic! That area has a nice chilled vibe overlooking the beach, plus lots of Mojito bars! So glad we decided to become members at Flamingo, it was one of the best decisions we have ever made plus it has saved us a fortune on our holidays over the last few years and got us into cruising, which we absolutely love! Overall one of the best hotels we have stayed in, I have no hesitation in recommending it to everyone. If you are going here soon, lucky you!"

Another Great Holiday
"We visited Flamingo Club for the second time and found it great again. We were lucky to get one of the renovated rooms and we were not disappointed with our apartment, it was lovely big and spacious with a sea view. Our en suite had a jacuzzi as well as a shower. As always the one of the best points is the great location of the resort and the close access to the beach, restaurants and shops around the marina area. The pool was great and it also had a little pool for children to use, there was always plenty of sunbeds and we overlooked the beach. The view over to the island of Gomera is great and you get some lovely sunsets there too. There is free WiFi in the resort, which is great, although can be slow sometimes when lots of people are logging on. We had such a lovely time and have recommended it to many friends. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Outside the front of the resort there is lots of access to shops, supermarkets and restaurants all within a stones throw. Lots to keep you occupied during the day, or peaceful to simply relax depending how you feel. It was the perfect holiday and we had a fantastic time."

Saved us money, exactly as they promised us!
"We spent a week over New year 2014 at the Flamingo Club. One of the best apartments we have ever stayed in. It was newly refurbished to a very high standard, modern furniture and lovely decor, with a lovely bathroom and shower. Everything you need for a self catering stay including TV, oven and hob, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, iron/ironing board and all the utensils and pots, pans that you could possibly need. No air con but there are ceiling fans, which worked well for us, plus a safe. The apt is situated overlooking the beach and marina and it was bliss to hear the ocean lapping at the shore, what a wonderful relaxing sound and one of the biggest pleasures of the apartment location. We thought it was perfect. The balcony was shaded in the morning but got sun all afternoon until sunset and we had sun beds as we had a little garden area too. The complex is spotless and well maintained. The onsite restaurant/bars and pool bar offer good value for food and drinks. All of the staff are lovely, very helpful and polite. The pool is a nice size but not huge and there are plenty of sun beds for everyone. The complex itself is situated just 2 minutes from the beach and shops, bars, restaurants are plentiful. We have visited Teneriife many times and think that we have found the perfect place! We can't wait to come back! On a serious note, as members at Flamingo we sat with the Sales staff for a chat and update and mentioned that we had recently inherited a timeshare that we didn't particularly want, along with the high annual maintenance fee that we certainly didn't want, so they were able to get us out of the unwanted timeshare and just the other day we received the letter from the timeshare company to confirm that we were no longer owners with them and would not be bothered by them again, or asked for any further maintenance fees! So I just wanted to sing the praises of the Flamingo staff for sorting this all out for us to a very swifty conclusion! Thanks guys!"

If anybody moans about this hotel they're just miserable!
"This is the review and title for you to copy and paste.Title - It's worth joining if you travel! I feel I have to make people aware that they should not judge the Flamingo Club on some of the negative things that have been written in the past about it. I think in the past it was a 4 star by the skin of its teeth but they are definitely throwing lots of money at refurbishing it to a high standard and it is looking good! Stayed here a few years ago when we first joined, so it was great to go back and see and experience all the improvements. In the meantime our membership has taken us to some wonderful places - Florida, Las Vegas, Italy, Marbella, Greece, Thailand and introduced us to cruising, to which we are now big fans and best of all we have stayed in some beautiful places at a fraction of what we could have paid! So we have been extremely pleased and have to say it has worked very well for us and our family who have made some good use of it too. We had a great holiday and we will absolutely be going back there to stay for our next time in Tenerife, as it cannot be beaten for location. It is vastly improved and the room we had was beautiful also the service we received was second to none. It is ideal for couples and families alike, though not too many kids around and always pretty peaceful at the pool with plenty of sunbeds and space. My only grumble this time would be the pool is not heated but we have our fingers crossed that that will be sorted too. If anybody moans about this hotel then they're just miserable!"

Not worried now!
"As a naturally inquisitive person, I couldn't understand the differing reviews about the Flamingo Club, so as we had just signed up with them and then read about them after on TripAdvisor, I was curious to find out more when we popped back in for a coffee and chat. We had been shown a lovely apartment and also the refurbishment work that was underway and those rooms looked fantastic! Some are already in use. We also insisted on seeing the older rooms after we had read about them and yes they do not come close by comparison but i believe the refurbishment is ongoing through the whole resort, so am sure they will be done soon too. Thankfully I now have been shown the differences and fully understand how the resort works. It transpires that the best rooms, which are the most recently refurbished are given to members like ourselves when we book. The refurbished rooms from 3/4 years ago are given to the timeshare guests and the older rooms are given to the travel agents to fill up. So if I had not known this and booked through a Travel Agent, I would probably have moaned too, especially when you find out how nice the other rooms are. So as we love our holidays and look forward to them with relish, we are planning going back to Tenerife soon and then we can get our Holiday Bucket List underway. Also would like to say that the staff at the Flamingo were helpful, informative and nothing was too much trouble plus they gave us lots of fresh ideas of things to do and see whilst in Tenerife, thanks guys! "We recently stayed at the Flamingo Club for one week after buying with them in July and were a bit concerned about what we were coming to, after reading some of the negative posts about this place. Needless to say we didn't need to worry, everything that we had been promised was what we got. it seems some sour grapes by some people! At the club there is a friendly atmosphere, staff are helpful and friendly to the guests and speak many languages. If there is a problem, they try to resolve it promptly. Apartments are comfortable, clean and well kitted out, with large balconies and sea view, well equipped kitchen. We had problem with our pillows, they were quite hard and uncomfortable for us. The pool is also very clean and you should have no problem getting a sun bed. This club is good place for many activities that we can do in Tenerife - relax by the pool, go to the beach (only a few minutes walk), play golf (several golf courses), fitness, go on trips around the island. For dinner we usually ate out at recommended restaurants and one night we even got a takeaway delivered, which we had on the terrace. The BBQ night at the resort was good with the entertainment. 7 days is just not enough time if you want to explore Tenerife, maybe 10 or 14 would be ideal. All in all a great weeks holiday."

It was good for us
"Yes we fell for it and were stopped on the streets with the scratchcard and smooth sales patter but as it was a cloudy day we decided to go and see what it was all about. The sales pitch was good and it did make financial sense to us to try the system out. Everything was explained over coffee with a very helpful and informative sales woman. At no time did we feel bullied or pressured and we enjoyed our look round. There seemed to be a lot of other people looking around too. We were given a tour of the resort and the accommodation. They even showed us where all the refurbishment was happening and we were allowed in to take a look and see for ourselves that the resort is indeed upgrading We were totally impressed with it all. They showed us examples of where else we could travel to, incredible cruises and also shown how to make a booking and see live prices on the interval website, We loved it all As we were so interested the guy came along to give us the price, which is in Euros but he worked out the exchange rate into pounds for us and although we would have loved to do it we couldn't quite afford to at the moment, even though we sat for 20 minutes working out our finances to see if there was anyway that we could manage it. So we had to say goodbye until the next time we come to Tererife when we will definitely be going back to see the staff at Flamingo We got our gift which was a holiday, which we will use to go back to Tenerife and we also got our wine, so we left feeling gutted but now that in a few months our financial position will be better!!
