Nice but keep your valuables locked up!!
"I took my boyfriend here for his 21st birthday for 1 week. We had a lovely holiday, weather was nice but only 3 days of full sun in the week we were there. Food was good, drinks reasonable. Ideal location as very near to nightlife! the pool is freezing! reception staff speak good english and are nice. rooms are clean.
the part that runied the holiday: we had been very good at keeping all out valuables locked up in the safe but this day i had forgotten to put my memory card for my digital camera away in its case and in the safe. this was the day before we were due to go home and we went down for breakfast. At the same time the maids had been into the room to clean. When we came back the memory card that was on the side wasnt there any more!! We went down to reception to ask if the maids had seen it. they asked them, the maids said no!! We couldnt beleive it, it had all the photos from my boyfriends birthday and all our other pictures from the holiday on there!! I just couldnt beleive the 1 time i leave something that means alot to me laying around it gets stolen!! I had read a review before about things being stolen and men coming into peoples appartements. Apparently one other lad had his bank card stolen the day before he was going home! It seemed like they do it the day before you go so theres not much you can do about it!
A lesson learnt!

"A very clean nice place to go. Great location near a spar shop and a 24/7 minimarket. About 5 min wak to the beach and the lively fornt of americas. Brilliant shopping on the front and if you get a chance go to san euginio bar its brill!!
The staff in the hotel are nice especially the manager (SVEN GORAN ERICCSON LOOK-A-LIKE.) The food was great lots of variation with different meats in sauces. There was always chips for the kids!
The rooms are nice and clean NEVER any COCKROACHES which was good! The pool is nice and is deep enough for a dive. Table tennis and pool were good to play when the heat outside got to much.
Beach volleyball is also good a court with sand in TRY IT.
The only negative i can think of was there was no entertainment at all and the TV is in German or spanish :-(
The other reviews are really unfair and all i can say s don't believe everything.
I would defo go back this is the second time at the hotel and we love it!!!"

"Hotel was ok and basically fitted the requirements for the week. Very close the all the areas of attraction for the resort.
Room was fairly dated and could do some maintenance and updating. Patio door effectively had no lock. Shower did not look great but was actually excellent and with good pressure and plenty of hot water.
Good pool area and the staff were friendly enough. No problems regarding how clean the hotel was."

Just back form a week half board at the Bonanza hotel, here are my thoughts:
Location - 10 mins downhill walk to Veronicas, 5 mins downhill walk to beach and bars. Right next to a main road so not a good hotel for light sleepers, also the bins were emptied every morning between 2 and 3.30am.
Cleanliness - the maids came every day bar one - they were very thorough.
Food - if you go to the buffett as soon as it open the food is still hot, leave it half an hour and expect to get something mildy warm. The selection isn't the greatest - there is a selection of salad stuff, and normally 2/3 mains meals.
Guests - most of the guests at this hotel are older retired couples, perfect if you want an early night with no noisy neighbours.
Pool - average size with a separate section for children - very cold though.
Watch out for - the scratchcard touts - if they need to be dragging you off the street when you win the elusive star prize (normally a holiday) then they can't be attracting enough customers through normal means.
Pluses - they have a strict policy on earmarking sun loungers which levels the playing field for those who like a lie in. The staff are very friendly"

Clean but not recommended!!
"The best thing I can say about this hotel is that it is very clean & not too badly situated. The cleaners really give it a good going over every day.
Now the bad bits. The food is terrible (We were half board but ate out every night bar one it was that bad) The bar only opened for 2 nights out of 7 while we were there! (Staff off sick & then when he came back he did a stocktake then went off again!)
It says it has a heated pool on website but it doesn't!
The cleaners are very good but the downside of this is that every morning you are awoken from 8am by beds being dragged across rooms & furniture being moved while they clean.
It is also situated very close to a main road & the traffic noise can be really bad.
If you are looking for a clean base with no facilities & don't want to sleep then this is ideal. If you are looking for a hotel with a bar / food / good nights sleep & entertainment etc. then this is not for you!"

"The bonanza is a lovely hotel, with really pleasant friendly staff.
We actually booked a 2 star hotel and as there was a problem with the room so they moved us to the bonanza which i was well chuffed with. The room service was excellent and the room was spotless.
It is a shame if you do get broken into but at the end of the day who leaves the key for the safe in the room (duh) and who would actually leave their bag out with money in it? if you double lock the door at night and when you go out it is very unlikely that you could be broken into, so if you do get broken into its probably due to carelessness!"

An excellent choice
"We, my wife and I, have just returned from a week at the Bonanza Apartments. We have been a lot of times at Playa de las Americas in Tenerife but this has been our first stay at Bonanza Apartments. We recommend it because it is clean, quite close to the beach, meals are OK, the apartments have see view and a kitchentte with everything you need, the pool is not crowded, and the staff are very friendly. It is an excellent choice for the money you pay. Of course, next time we will come back to the Bonanza Apartments."

"Just back from staying at the Bonanza Apartments,
Apartment was broken into twice, - on the third night, â¬150 was taken out of the safe, for which we had paid â¬11 for, We had hidden the key in the room and was told by "Patrick" on reception because of OUR negligence of leaving the key, was why it was broken into. He forgot the actual fact, that the apartment had to be broken into to get to the safe.. The fifth night, someone had come into out apartment again, as some stuff had been moved, but nothing had been taken as we had our stuff with us. We did report it to Patrick who told us that he would let the manager know. We never heard from the manager
Patrick also told us this only happens once a year if ever, even though be it coincidental, that my partner was down stairs and he heard an english couple, complaining that they were out at the pool, that day, and when they came back, the lady's bag was on the bed and money had been taken from it...
The "restaurant" hours were listed to be open until 5pm daily, though when we went to order food, we were told it closes at 4?
Holes in the sheets on the bed, cleaners came twice in 1 week
On leaving, we asked to store our bags, and we were told we could leave them, in a place near the laundrey where everyone has access to it, without any lock on the door....
Would definetly not recommend this place for anyone -young or old...."

DO NOT GO HERE!!
"We arrived at Bonanza hotel and was told we had "the best room in the hotel", I would have hated to see any of the other rooms. It was small, cramped, dirty and unbelievably old fashioned, it was like stepping back into the 70's. We were not pleased with the location as you are a good 25 minute walk away from anything!! The hotel is described as good for couples and families, if you are not spanish and over 70 dont go here!!
We moved out of the hotel 4 hours after arriving due to the fact we had to share our room with a massive family of cockroaches!! They were in the bathroom, up the walls near our bed, on the couch, behind the couch and on the balcony and god knows where else. We complained to reception and were told we couldnt be moved as "they would be in every room". We were given some cockroach spray but you had to spray them directly...and the spray was poisonous to humans, so you couldnt be in the room when you did it!!! So god knows how we were supposed to kill them. We complained again and got the same response. So we packed in 5 minutes, whilst avoiding cockroaches and moved to a different hotel. Bonanza aparthotel ruined our holiday, it was filthy and the people there were rude. This hotel did not feel safe at all and we werent sticking around to find out if it was...i do not recommend this hotel for anybody!!! "
