Had the best week ever!
"Myself and 3 friends stayed in the Playazul Apartments for 1 week in June 2011. It was the best holiday we have ever been on and are now trying to re-book for October. We are all 19 years old and as most reviews say, yes this is definatly a young persons hotel! The hotel is in a perfect position for the younger generation looking for a fun, alcohol fueled holiday. It is situated above a reasonably priced supermarket and next door to good restaurants. It's only a 5 minute walk to the nearest bar and nightclubs. The pool was very clean and there was no rush for sunbeds in the morning. We would also highly recommend the pool side bar, it was very cheap and serves really high quality food. Everyone was extremely friendly and although there is no air conditioning the fans in the rooms were adaquate for the time we spent there. The rooms were also very clean and the maids came almost everyday! However, if like the boys living up the stairs from us, you don't keep your room tidy the maids will refuse to clean it (quite rightly!) The only complaint we could make however was the noise coming from the 20 or 30 Irish boys living above us. We did arrive and leave at the same time though, so we cannot say what the hotel was like without them. We do know that the hotel did take action against them and twice they were made to pack their things and wait for the manager to decide whether they should stay another night, so it wasn't like nothing was done about them! All in all we had a fantastic time and if there are a group of you looking for a young persons hotel then this is definatly the place to go! "

6th year holiday nightmare
"playazul is not at all what it is made out to be ! I have just retunrned from playazul, i went with 7 other girls. The staff were horrible we wer not aloud to have anyone over as there was a huge group of us they were very strict and did not alow any music or anybody into our apartment. They put four of my friends out on the street half way through there holiday for no good reason and had done this to serveral other groups of similar age on holidays staying in the playazul. It is a complete scam. They come up with any excuse to kick you and and take your money. The apartment were big and spacious but wer riddled with warms and cockroches. I would not reccommend playazul to anyone who is looking to have a good time on there six year holiday. we felt that we had to walk on egg shells for 10 days so that we didnt get kicked out aswell..! It was a disgrace."

leaving cert girls holiday
"For the money we paid for nearly two weeks in playazul and after some of the reviews we read we weren't expecting much. When we arrived we couldn't believe it the apartments are in a perfect location 2 minute walk from all the action but far enough away that we couldn't hear much from the pubs and clubs. The apartment itself was perfect, 2 bedrooms, a spacious living area and large balcony. We only seen one cockroach while we were there. Don't let no air con put you off the fans in the bedrooms are enough, we went in the middle of July when it was very hot and they were all we needed! The pool area is great, nice buzz around it and a reasonably priced poolside snack bar with a selection of food. When booking, request a room on block X as it is easiest to get to and less noisy. Playazul is about a five to ten minute walk to the beach which is amazing, a dip in the sea was a perfect hangover cure! Speaking of hangover cures Snappys beside Playazul does a great breakfast! The resort itself is brilliant, perfect for a party holiday and these apartments are a perfect base for a great holiday!"

For the money you pay, it's honestly amazing.
"Prior to going on holiday, my friends and I had spent 6 months reading terrifying review after review for playazul, so we not only had low expectations, but also went prepared to be robbed! However, our 2 week experience there was anything but scary. We had two five-person rooms. One was on the sixth floor which meant carrying suitcases up a flight, which was a bit of a bother, but that was the only problem. The rooms were clean and spacious. The pool was large and clean with a great cheap poolside cafe. The view from our room was actually pretty stunning too. The hotel is literally less than a five minute walk to the strip, for students and those planning on going out every night it really is perfect."

6th year holiday
"I would 100% recommend this hotel for anyone young and looking for somewhere close to the action . its literally next door to both strips of nightclubs , because it was so cheap we couldn't believe our luck. It was very clean and a housekeeper came in every day to change the towels and the sheets and sweep the floor . we couldn't have found a more perfect hotel . the pool was gorgeous too , and very clean , and there was a pool side bar that served all sorts of food too . These apartments don't get enough credit . There was great fun to be had at the pool too because there was so many young people around and often reps from the clubs staying there too . It was the best holiday of my life and I would go back to Playazul tomorrow . Lovely staff , very clean , very secure , very cheap . Its also close to the water park ( you could walk or get the shuttle from outside) close to the bus station to get a bus to the capital for a day , close o the shops and surrounded by gorgeous restaurants . tenerife is a cheap holiday , every night we ate out and had one alcoholic drink with our meal and it was never more than 10 euro each . I wouldn't recommend this part of tenerife in general for young families or elderly people . There is steps up to the apartment too and its the only way in so you might want to bare that in mind . Underneath the building there is a shop and a bakery where you can buy the essentials and fresh bread every morning . Fabulous place . "

"Myslef and 3 friends stayed at the playazul apartments in september 2009. we booked a 2 bedroom apartment and as this was our second holiday to tenerife we knew what standard to expect. Previously staying at the Hacienda del Sol. we arrive very late at night and although the reception did not speak the greatest of english he was polite and as helpful as he could be with the language barrier, we paid our deposits (dont be shocked by this, if your going to trash the room they will keep your money, i think its a perfectly reasonable request) our room was on the ground floor and with a massive balcony overlooking the pool area. Yes this hotel is near the bars and clubs, but i never once heard any noise at night, maybe a faint rumble but nothing you would loose sleep over, for a group of young girls we want this to be close! If you are a family do not expect to not be slightly disturbed... on second thoughts, why take childen to the centre of tenerife which is 110% knownt to be 'party life' and noisy! it is your own fault if you have a bad holiday!! The rooms were lovely, perfectly clean and plenty of space to unpack as each room had a double wardrobe and 2 single beds. The kitchen was huge, clean and came with more utensils than my own kitchen at home! we manged to cook our own meals most nights and sat round the table in the living room and enjoyed our time. the living area was again massive, plenty of room with a sofa and arm chair to sit on (clearly converting into a 5th bed) the apartment had lots of plug sockets for all our hairdryers and straightners. The bathroom was clean, basic but clean, yes i saw a cockroach... but again you half expect this abroad. i was shocked at how good the playazul was, it was better, bigger and cleaner than the hacienda across the road. the pool and bar was clean and all the staff were polite. the reception was locked at night so no strangers could wander in and we had to show our key to get in - this for me is a good quality! the hotel is less than 5 minute walk form the beach and opposite bus stops for local transport and a supermarket for all the essentials! i would 100% reccomend this if you are going to tenerife! so much so that I am going back to tenerife in april 2010 and yes, i am staying at the playazul again!"

"it was our first time in tenerife and also our first time away for xmas and newyear, the apartment we stayed in was clean and no sign of any cockroaches or flies,it was on the ground floor and perfect as my son is in a wheelchair, the maids were excellent and as was the reception staff we never had any complaints at all, there was noise at night but we didnt mind about it as it never kept us from our sleep, the restaraunts were lovely, the food was absolutely brilliant ,we spent a lot of time in the evenings at a pub called jacks bar,we went american dreamz the food is good but u have to watch as they charge u for the bread that they bring out to u even if u dont ask for it,but we had a really great holiday and will definately be goin back soon"

"STAY AWAY FROM PLAYAZUL. these apartments are dark, dreary, noisy, cramped and not half cleaned. Just after returning from a week in tenerife. The place is lovely, but the accomodation ruined it for us. When we arrived on a sunday we were informed that the apartment had been cancelled by our travel agent a week before, which was untrue. As our travel agent in Ireland was closed on sunday we had to pay extra for the first night and wait to ring agents the following morning. The first impression of the apartment was small and dark. We were on the ground floor looking out at a hedge. When we opened the door of the balcony there were 2 dead cockroches being eaten my little flies. The beds were couches that you had to push together with 1 sheet each and a pillow about an inch thick, again 1 each. There was no air conditionong only a bad fan overhead which was useless. That night it was so hot we had to open balcony doors and we stayed awake till 6am with the noise from the street, it was like sleeping in the middle of a nite club. the following morning when we rang our agents thaey informed us that they didnt cancel and sorted it out for us."

Playazul apartments, Las Americas
"I found these Apartments basic but clean. We only used our Apartment as a base for sleeping in so i didn't spend much time there. The room became warm but was air conditioned.. opening the doors helped more than the air conditioning, however. We found no cockroaches in our room during our stay which was great! The staff were extremely helpfull and the whole complex was clean... including the pool (which was very cold :) ) Many restaurants and clubs surround the area and me being 17 and my boyfriend 19 this suited us greatly.. some noise could be heard from our room at nights but nothing you couldn't sleep through! People try to sell you lots of things as you walk down the street (sunglasses and watches etc..) i advise to stay on the left side of the road(the side opposite the clubs) to avoid them. We were also only a 2 minute cab ride away from the new water park... Siam park which i highly recommend for people of all ages...the lazy river has an optional twist to it!! Overall my holiday was great! i would highly recommend the restaurant "American Dreamz" which is an italian/steakhouse!! it was lovely!! Also "mario's" restaurant in Torviscos is lovely too... great service!! "
