Return trip - on the up but where's the spa?
"Returned here having stayed on promo trip >2 years before. Development hadn't moved on like I'd expected (thought there was to be a spa being built, more appartments) but it was great. I'd have been disappointed if I'd bought last time though. The large 1 bed appartment was lovely. Very well equipped and clean. Enjoyed meals in RCC and over in L'Estancia. Also nice snacks near the pool. Very friendly and efficient staff. (There are RCC staff and then there are Timeshare/Sales reps too so shouldn't confuse the two.) That said, reps were friendly too and far less pushy than when stayed last time. We were approached but as not on a promotion there was no obligation to have a tour so we simply said no thanks. Other than a call to check we hadn't changed our minds, that was that. (BTW kissing on each cheek is a normal greeting and not meant to offend like some people seem to have been. Maybe its just us Brits who find it a bit OTT.) We had a car for a few days but otherwise used the free shuttle bus which worked out really well. Normally took bus down and taxied back for convenience though. (Cheaper than car hire still and meant could have a drink.) Will almost certainly go back in another couple of years (go Tenerife every year) but just hope they have got that promised spa and moved on with resort."

"We stayed at the Regency Country Club last June and loved it. The apartment was wonderful, very spacious with 4 poster bed, jacuzzi, and a large balcony. In the kitchen was everything you need including coffee maker, microwave, fridge freezer, even down to a juicer.
The Infinity pool is wonderful with a swim up poolbar that was fun. There were adult only areas too where you can relax with double Cabana sun beds. For children there did seem lots going on, but I didn't really take too much notice as we were thier on our own. The children had thier own pool too.
It is situated a little out of the way but we liked that as it was quiet and peaceful, plus there is a free bus runs all the time to take you into town and the beach. Also we found it was a little cooler which was nice as the days we did go to the beach we found it too hot for us! The tempreture on the whole was perfect and although sometimes some cloud we still went home with beautiful tans. From Los Cristianos you can get busses to all over the island if you don't want to hire a car, which we didn't.
On the negative side there is a half built building down and across the other side of the main road but it is quite a long way away and the building has stopped, we were told it was going to be a hospital but they have run out of money to complete it! So there is no noise and it certainly doesn't impare on your stay there.
We did book this on the phone as a promotional holiday and had been told we would be shown around the resort. The rep who took us round was lovely and although after a couple of hours we were free to go we actually spent longer, chatting because we enjoyed her company. There was certainly no hard pressure to buy.
All in all we loved it. We were very lucky as we only paid 200 pounds each for our stay there whereas other people had paid somewhere around 1,000 pounds but even those that we spoke to had said and it was worth every penny."

"The apartments are fabulous. Very well equipped with sky TV, dvd player, music system. Everything you need in the kitchen, lovely furnishings and cleaned every day. The pool is lovely though the outlook is grim. The only view is of a half built hospital. Not attractive. Also, as the resort is up the mountain, tends to be under a cloud when the sun is shinning on the coast. We had a car so were able to go to the beach where it was really sunny. Very isolated area. One restaurant, La Estancia which was fanstastic but you wouldn't want to go every night. Nothing else in the vicinity. Small supermaket on site, very expensive and very limited stock. Food in the on site restaurant (mostly snacks) not good quality. The hotel staff were lovely, all very friendly. Now the beware!!!!
A rep comes to see you the day after you check-in to introduce themselves and book you in for the presentation two days later. Our rep was called Kim. She becomes your new best friend! Over friendly, kisses you goodbye even though you've only just met. Invites you to drinks at the local restaurant, gives you a lift in her car to another restaurant, joins you for a drink there, all very pally.
Then the presentation. Over 5 hours of sell. 10 oclock til gone 3. What a waste of a day (one of the few we were not under the cloud!) They do not understand the meaning of no thankyou. The more you say it the more they push you. They bring other people to try and get you to say yes. Ask you all sorts of questions about your finances (and funnily enough you find yourself telling this complete stranger everything, clever). A long face when you eventually get away. They still talk to you for the next few days when they ring to see if you've changed your mind. After that forget it. They've already got their claws into another unsuspecting prey.
We've all got to make a living but how do these people sleep at night.
Don't go, find somewhere near the beach if you want the sun and enjoy a hassle free holiday with no false people hassling you."

We were invited to the Regency Country C...
"We were invited to the Regency Country Club as a promotional tour. It cost only £299 for the week! whilst we were optimistic as to the Ownership element but we were pleasantly surprised. Upon arriving the staff were friendly and our room (310) was out of this world.
2 Storey with 4 poster bed, 2 bathrooms etc and terrace/balcony had views over the infinity pool. The rep (who called himself our concierge) introduced himself the day after we arrived and we booked in for the tour 2 days later. At the themed night the reps were clearly visible, ours shook hands and then proceeded to kiss me on the cheek - not professional when had only just met! The tour started at 10.15 and we managed to have it ended by 12.15p.m. that said we were not pressurised and were able to enjoy the rest of our holiday. weather was great. the shop needs to be open more during the day - shuts at 12.30 and does not re-open until 5.30p.m. All in all a relaxing holiday - i would say it was like being at a health spa all week - bliss. would definately recommend it although not to purchase as very pricey!

"My partner and I have just returned from a week at the Regency Country Club. We exchanged our timeshare week from Portugal to this unit as it was stated to be a gold crown resort. We were not disappointed. The hotel is fabulous with great attention paid to detail to ensure the Bali theme is maintained throughout. The unit is fabulous with a huge, four poster bed and every home comfort catered for. The maid service is excellent with towels changed daily or whenever required, bed linen changed 3 times a week and daily room cleaning.
The staff are very courteous, friendly and helpful at all levels from arriving at reception to bar staff to maid service.
The infinity pool is great, including a jacuzzi and swim up pool bar. Unfortunately a new hospital for the south of Tenerife is currently being built directly in the view line whilst swimming in the infinity pool which is a bit of an eyesore!
The only disparaging comment I have is that the resort is a little isolated which is not a problem if notified of prior to visit. I would definitely recommed a car as the hotel do provide a mini bus service into Los Cristianos and Americas but it is very infrequent and not really at convenient times.
You may also need to be aware that phase 2 of the RCC construction is immediately next door and has a crane which is a bit of an eyesore. There were no signs of working on it whilst we were there and we were advised that construction would commence when the units were sold so there may be a time in the future when it will be very noisy.
The hotel has 3 themed nights a week which include a buffet style meal with entertainment. The hotel has an excellent restaurant attached within a few minutes walk called La Estancia. I would recommed the restauarant. Apparantly one of the Corrs sisters had her wedding reception there last year. There is another excellent restaurant close by called Clarets which I would highly recommend also. However I would recommed that you take a taxi to it as it is at the top of a very steep hill. The taxi costs 3 euros. It is possible to walk back. Other than a small tapas bar there are no other restaurants or bars close by and this is when you would need transport.
The beauty of the hotel is its complete peace and tranquillity which suited me and my partner but it may not suit someone looking for a livelier place.
PS we managed to avoid the unwanted attentions of the sales team by ignoring their repeated attempts to ring the doorbell! Others were less unfortunate and the viewing took many hours we heard!"

Loved the 'infinity pool', shame about the view!
"We exchanged a week's timeshare with RCI for this resort, and the complimentary champagne went down well after a late flight.
We asked via email for a 'welcome pack' as we were arriving late, and that was in the appt, had all the essentials. We loved the space in all rooms, especially the bathroom, the 4 poster bed and the balcony.
The pool was fantastic, but it looked onto the building site of South Tenerife's hospital!! also to the right of us was a crane, ready to start on Phase 2 of the RCC.The sun loungers were good quality with thick cushions.
We were a few miles up from Las Cristianos, but there was a courtesy bus to use, although the last one back was 17.30.
The weather was hot, but cloudy because we were so high up - it was always sunny down by the coast.
All in all, we had a good week, but beware of the mosquitos - I have never been bitten in any of the Canaries - but I came home with 50 bites, my husband had 60 !!"

"The Regency Country Club was everything I expected it to be and more! The check in was efficient and the champagne greeting was delightful!
The rooms are very luxurious and every picture displayed on the website is true to life! We had a lovely sea view and a great balcony.
I'm a little confused as to peopleâs comments about there being no food some nights? Their restaurant La Estancia is open every day and night and serves some spectacular dishes!
The pool is fantastic! You can swim in the infinity pool all day long as itâs heated.
The whole holiday was the most relaxing experience I've ever had it was like a second honeymoon for me and my husband it was everything we wanted!"

"My husband and I have just returned from a fabulous holiday at this beautiful hotel. We were greeted with a glass of champagne which set the scene for our week. The rooms and hotel are outstanding and although we booked a special promotion week this time we will be visiting the hotel again and again. The most enjoyable, relaxing and rewarding holiday ever. Ps very friendly and proffessional staff"

Great Hotel, shame about the surounding area
"We were invited to this resort via a timeshare promotion. We are already time share owners and thought that it would give us a good opportunity to see what they had to offer. We were a little dubious about how good it would be, but we were pleasantly surprised to find that it was even better than we expected. The apartment was very spacious and had a very large terrace area for you to relax in. The pool area was magnificent. We have 2 children who had a wonderful time in the pool and the play area. There was a childrenâs club that they could go in and out of that was based in the play area. My only concern was that the pool area was very quiet and relaxing so I was aware that the children should not get to noisy, but most people seemed to enjoy watching them play. The bar and snack area was good and the lunch time food was very good. They lay on 3 theme nights that are very good value for money and we hade a great time. We only have a couple of complaints, they do not do food every night, so you need to go else where, we like to walk around the area that we stay in and you couldnât as the paths would just stop and it is very hilly. It would have been nice to have a couple of bars near by to visit with out going into one of the main towns. The timeshare presentation took nearly a whole day but it was not high pressured and we thought that it was too expensive. This hotel is great if you just want to relax and unwind"

Not 5 star service
"The place looks amazing and is well kitted out. Looks like a 5 star resort but unfortunately the service does not come up to scratch, The staff are friendly and helpful but have no discretion to solve any difficult issues. The place is full of time share sales people having coffee and chatting which was not professional and once they gather you have no interest in the timeshare (we paid thousands for apartment rentals and made it clear from the outset we were NOT interested in timeshare), the service level deteriorated visibly further.
The restaurant is only open 3 times a week, bizarre and watch out for the Butlins type entertainment. One night there was a vulgar drag show which would belittle a 1 star establishment, let alone a supposed 5 star exclusive resort! The resort was altogether a strange concoction, don't think management really know who their market is and what they are trying to achieve. We will NOT be going back. Overall looks like a 5 star place but feels like a 3 star resort."

"Loved the hotel, the pool was amazing although very cold which we thought was down to the constant running water from the lions head fountains. The rooms were really nice, clean and tidy and the bathrooms were stunning. We also had a roof balcony. The only problem
was that we felt a bit isolated with it being so far from the town. I like to be able to wander off alone and definitely felt that I couldn't here because of the main road into Los Cristianos."
